You Have to Fall Before You Fly

-xoxo-

Vidia lived for speed, literally. Whizzing in the wind, without a care, letting the breeze take her anywhere she wanted. There was nothing in her way, and that was just how she liked it. She felt so free-spirited... and perhaps she could actually enjoy it, if there wasn't actually a certain someone on her back.

"Slow down, hon! You're gonna kill us!" Rosetta shrieked, as she clutched onto Vidia's shoulders even tighter.

"Hey, you wanted to know what it was like to be a fast-flying fairy," Vidia shot back. "This is slow for me."

Rosetta's pretty green eyes turned into pinpricks, and she let out a squeak. "I'm really startin' to regret this," she muttered. She looked down, watching Pixie Hollow whiz by. The second she noticed one thing, it was gone and she was focusing on something else. She tried to focus on something calming: like the flowers in the grass, but they were nothing but a colorful blur, and she was starting to feel dizzy...

"You alright back there, Rosie?" Vidia said, with a soft laugh.

"Just-" Rosetta felt a wave of nausea flow through her veins and she released a nervous cough. "-just peachy."

"Really? Wanna go faster?"

"Don't you dare!"

Vidia's laughter was low and raspy, with a bit of a tinkling noise as an undertone. When Rosetta heard it, she eased up on her grip ever-so-slightly, and tried to relax. On her own, she could never achieve this speed, but with the help of a friend...

...ok, so Vidia was a lot more than a friend. But no one else really knew that, and Rosetta was going to make sure it stayed that way.

Glancing over her shoulder, Vidia raised an eyebrow. "Gee, you're looking kinda green," she observed. "Sure you don't wanna slow down?"

Rosetta hesitated, and her manicured nails nearly tore Vidia's vest as she held on for dear life. Falling at this velocity: she could never make a good landing-

-however, she didn't even have time to let that thought process, when she suddenly felt herself in midair. She was plummeting to the ground, and a silent scream twisted out of her mouth, desperate to say something, anything-

-and then, suddenly, she somehow found herself in Vidia's arms.

"Still scared?"

Rosetta frowned, and her expression scrunched up. She reached back, and slapped Vidia... hard. "That's what ya get for scaring me like that," she grumbled.

Vidia winced. "I thought this was the part when you shower me with kisses and call me your hero because I saved you from falling to your death," she muttered.

Rosetta crossed her arms, and pouted. "Ain't funny, sugar," she argued. "And on top o' that, you're gonna help me with my chores at work tomorrow."

Vidia sighed. "Why do I put with you?" she grumbled.

Yet, despite her annoyed scowl, it quickly melted into a stupid, goofy smile as Rosetta placed a kiss on her cheek.

"There," she said. "You're my hero." She looked down to the ground, and held onto Vidia's shirt. "Now get me down. Safely."

"Fine, fine," Vidia muttered. You stupid, cute, sassy pixie, she thought. You've got me so totally whipped.

Then again, as she looked at Rosetta one last time before they landed... maybe being whipped was worth it.

author's note: So what was the purpose of this drabble? Well, simply put, I wanted to display my love for the extremely rare ship of Rosetta and Vidia. Stupid opposites. Dunno why I wrote this, I was bored after rewatching "The Great Fairy Rescue" and this happened. I blame feels.
