Author's note:

I am definitely still alive. In regards to just how alive I am is questionable. It's been what? Four years since I've become active in this account. I know I've made promises to post new chapters. All I'm getting ideas of are for new stories actually.

Sucks, I know. Will it help that I've already planned out the next chapter? Overlooked Soul is not dead and I have plans for Naruko.

The chapters right now are a prelude to the Bayverse movie, but I'm adding more characters not cannon to the movie so expect some unfamiliar mechs showing up as the story progresses.

There are a lot of things I want to say but most of all allow me to show my thanks to everyone who has read and supported Overlooked Soul. I haven't had a lot of time to myself with school and trying to find myself in school. You can't believe what an emotional ride that was for me.

And that's just me blabbering about my life, but please enjoy!

Chapter 4: Not Just One but Two

Damn all other science-fiction movies. She never ever would be able to look at another little green fictional character on screen the same way ever again. Did she mention that she had just proven that they were not alone after all?

No?

Cause they were absolutely not f*cking alone.

Naruko Uzumaki, a self-proclaimed kunoichi extraordinaire, had just encountered not just one but two mechanical life-forms from another plant in just the span of an hour all because she decided to confront the jet that was stalking her. Goodbye to any hopes of having any semblance of a normal life in this planet.

The young girl glanced up at the mech that was protectively holding her to his chest plate as said stalker jet turned gigantic alien machine growled threateningly at the other alien before them all the while making sure that she was kept close to him at all times.

She didn't mean to say it. She really didn't but the tension was becoming too much for her.

"So as far as first impressions go, this isn't so bad." Naruko immediately regretted speaking judging by the way her two companions immediately looked down at her, all attention once again on her which she absolutely hated. Too bad she couldn't keep her mouth shut. "I mean, this was bad like really bad-probably going to the top 10s-or should I call it bottom 10s?"

Skywarp inwardly sneered in disgust as the fleshie kept making a fool out of herself.

'This is the reason Thundercracker has been absent from our debriefing?' The Decepticon glanced at his trine mate and stared on in disbelief as Thundercracker continued to look down at the small pile of flesh with nothing but a besotted look.

'Did he?' The mech fixed his sensors in order to make sure he got it right. 'Did he just purr? That slagging traitor!' Skywarp seethed.

The sound of sizzling energy piling together surrounded his right claw, not unlike the cannon he used earlier to 'exterminate' the pest, but just as the sizzling sound came, Thundercracker immediately looked up. Gleaming red eyes glared, daring at the other decepticon to make his move. Carefully placing Naruko on top of his shoulder plates, which she quickly took hold of, his null-ray threateningly ready beside him.

The young femme was his secret, his to keep under his wing. He still had so much to speak with her and learn more about her special skills she used to free him from captivity.

Thundercracker zeroed in his vision toward the charcoal-black spot not far from where they stood. It was the exact spot Naruko was shot at by Skywarp with his cannon. He thought she had been incinerated the moment she was engulfed in the white light of the other's cannon, his processors stopped and before he was even aware, his null-ray was out and he quickly aimed and fired at Skywarp.

He wasn't aware of the reason. Such thoughts escaped his processors as they had just been programmed to the idea of 'take back'. Take back what he did not know, the order had just been spread all over his entire frame and every circuit was telling him to go at it. Everything just stopped the moment Naruko showed up once again in his vision, safe and unharmed.

Apparently, Skywarp did not get the message and aimed his cannon again at Naruko.

Thundercracker fired his null-ray. Skywarp dodged.

"Why are you protecting this pile of flesh?" He demanded. The same red eyes glared back at Thundercracker. "This is only a passing interest. Once I get rid of it, you'll go back to normal!"

Instead of aiming at Naruko, he quickly changed his aim and shot at Thundercracker's other shoulder which was not occupied by the kunoichi. Thundercracker groaned at the impact and moved back, causing Naruko to stumble from her position and fall.

It was all Skywarp needed to make a shot at Naruko.

"Hold still and die" The mech hissed.

Seeing his plan, Naruko spun and used her momentum to quickly jump toward the trees.

Taken aback by the show of unnatural human reflexes, the tiny pest exhibited, Skywarp paused at his action taking into account what he had just seen her do.

Naruko swiftly landed once again on Thundercracker's uninjured shoulder and gently placed her small palm on the side of helm. From her position, the blonde could see small wisps of smoke caused by the blast.

"You dare hurt your own comrade?"

Both Thundercracker and Skywarp froze at once. Their processors flashing nothing but the same thing throughout their frame, it was flashing a message that an immediate threat had been located. It was a threat that could possibly be on the same level Lord Megatron could get when his plans were foiled by the Autobots. They hadn't felt this type of cold dread since the leader of the Decepticons. How truly cruel he could get like the time Megatron had sent Thundercracker and several other seekers as disposable pawns to a possible trap the Autobots had set up back then during the war at Cybertron*. He had barely escaped it with his life.

This time, the both of them felt paralyzing jolts coursing all over their frames as if the atmosphere got heavier and heavier the moment Naruko spoke those words. An invisible dark blanket spread around the area as the kunoichi had unknowingly began to release killing aura mixed with the demon chakra from within her. It was probably the first time since she arrived in this world that she had managed to call upon Kurama's chakra.

To the Decepticons, this was a sensation they have never encountered since their arrival on earth or maybe even ever.

It was deadly.

It was terrifying.

It was power.

And both Decepticons were engulfed in it.

Skywarp hadn't noticed it, but during the ordeal he had put away his cannon. Instead, he had let whatever menacing disturbance the young organic (because she was apparently not just a pile of flesh) had caused reached his core. Looking at the young organic's disgusting blue orbs that eerily reminded him of those Autobot scums, he saw a tinge of (now isn't this a surprise) red dancing around the edges that was most certainly a familiar shade of red.

And dare he say it, his engines almost purred at the thought.

As quickly as it came, the sensation came to a halt as soon as Naruko picked up the sound of Will's voice shouting her name.

"Will!" Naruto exclaimed. "He's back. I need to go!" She quickly glanced back at Thundercracker and was taken aback by the dazed look he was giving her.

"You should probably get that looked." God, why did she sound like such an idiot all of a sudden.

Naruko quickly jumped away toward the direction of the farm to meet Will but not before making sure to jump hard on Skywarp's helm with a little boost of chakra.

Skywarp cursed.

And if she did manage to leave a small dent, she'll consider it a win.

Thundercracker hid a small grin, but it was soon replaced with a frown as he gazed at the other mech.

Whatever feat that young femme had shown just cemented whatever thoughts he had about her being different.

He knew Skywarp thought so too.

They were trine mates after all.

It would only be a matter of time before Skywarp started showing the same interested he had toward Naruko as well. Skywarp had always been stubborn, but he always knew what he wanted once he realized what it was.

That's it.

Naruko lamented to herself. This was beginning to become a habit now as she slid down the wall all the while covering her face with her hands. Groaning at what her life has become, she thought about looking outside the window and deep inside she knew she shouldn't lest she let out a curse fest, but curiosity won in the end.

Taking a small peek outside, Naruko saw not one but two f*cking jets parked right in front of her window hidden within the lush green of the forest. This time, she was definitely sure Thundercracker was trying to wave at her almost as if he was trying to push away the other jet, whom she found out was named Skywarp, out of her view.

Why hasn't anyone noticed these two outside of her house yet?!

What was Skywarp doing here? She thought he wanted to exterminate her.

Naruko paused.

Oh my god.

Had she just met a jet that was a tsundere?

Will was almost startled from his sleep when the door to his bedroom was opened. He was introduced to the view of his adopted daughter hugging her orange pillow to her chest looking as if she was tired of the world.

"What's wrong, Naruko?" Will asked but moved a little to the side to make space for his daughter who didn't hesitate to climb up the bed.

"Is it alright if I sleep here with you just for this night?" Even though Naruko hid her face in the pillow while she spoke, he still managed to understand her and nodded.

"Sure, sweetie. Is everything alright?"

He felt her nod. The soldier smiled softly at his daughter's faint response and pulled the blanket over her before lying down himself hugging her close to him.

"You know, I'm sorry about earlier."

"Let's just forget it ever happened." Naruko quietly mumbled. Will smiled in secret knowing that below the bed was another one of those parenting books he borrowed from his friends in the army when he went out after whole fiasco a while ago.

"Okay, good night, Naruko." He kissed her on top of her head. "Sweet dreams"

Naruko's response was to hug her pillow tighter as she let the feeling of having a parental figure beside her settle in. Softly touching the spot where Will had placed a kiss earlier, she smiled a teary smile show.

She wasn't letting some stupid robots ruin this for her.

* - According to tfwikia there was a time Megatron made use of Thundercracker and several of his Decepticons as disposable assets and lead them to a trap he suspected was plotted by the Autobots.

I think I made a mention in the story that Skywarp and Thundercracker have a special bond with each other. They are trine mates which according to tf lore, is what would be similar to a team that comes in a set of three but having a deeper bond which other people have compared to having a sibling bond but also not at the same time. And I've only introduced two out of the three seekers. Guess who's the last one?

Next chapter will focus mainly on Naruko and Skywarp's interactions with Thundercracker making an appearance. Discussions about how Naruko will be gathering chakra from a world that wasn't suited for it will also come up.

Until next time!
