At 1am, Tori Vega could still conjure no feeling of drowsiness, and although she tried, she eventually gave up the idea and started browsing TheSlap, all was peaceful until Trina came bursting in, far too energetic at this ungodly hour.

"Tori! Tori!" Trina yelled, holding her foot, "Look! Look at it!" She sharply pointed to what Tori had noticed to be a disgusting corn on her toe.

"Umm…." Tori began, knowing how….delicate Trina was about matters of the flesh, "It doesn't look that bad." It did, in fact, it was horrendous, but Tori just wanted Trina out of her room. Her older sister hopped over to her bed, one of her feet still tightly grasped in her hand,

"Maybe you need a closer lo-"

"Trina, get, the fuck out!" It was her turn to point, this time to the door,

"Jeez, what the hell is your problem?"

She stared at her sister, for a moment she considered telling Trina about her run in with Jade, about the Vodka incident….but decided against it. "Nothing, I'm sorry, but it's 1am and I don't need you waving your…..inflamed red, and quite sore looking corn in my face." She broke her gaze with Trina and went back to scrolling the pages of the slap, until she came across one page in particular. "They made a memorial for Cat….." Trina saw Tori's eyes go glossy, if it were any other reason she'd leave her to it, but even Trina's heart hurt a little when she thought about Cat, the girl far too young for a cardiac arrest to take her. Trina Will never forget the night she got under the covers with her crying sister and held her tight as they both cried into the early hours of the morning.

Tori scrolled down the memorial page,

Cat Valentine Memorial Page: Leave your messages of condolence.

As Tori read through everyone's messages, she scoffed out of hurt, "They didn't even know Cat. None of them did." She hissed, it took Trina's hand through her wavy locks and her soothing shhh to calm her down. "Trina, I need to make a call, I'll take it in the kitchen and while I'm down there I'll make us some coffee." Trina softly ruffled her sister's hair before Tori went downstairs.

Tori found everything so peaceful at night, downstairs was dead silent, until she switched the kettle on, she scrolled through her phone,

Beck Oliver

Calling…

A relaxed voice answered her call, "Hello?"

"Hey, Beck, did I wake you?"

She heard the smallest chuckle coming from Beck, "No, what's up, you ok?"

"I just…I need to talk to someone, would it be alright if came over?" Trina was great and all, but she needed someone who understood this….situation.

"Yeah, sure, I don't mind, you want me to pick you up?"

"No, I'll ask Trina."

"Ok, see you later."

"Yeah…bye..oh oh wait beck!"

"Yeah?"

"Thank you."

She ended the call. If anyone knew how to help Jade, then it was Beck, but she thought about it afterwards, should she tell him the whole truth?…. "Trina, will you drive me to Beck's?"

Trina grabbed her jacket, her phone, and her car keys, and drove Tori over to Beck's.

She was careful to remain quiet, remembering that, as it was now 1.30, many would be sleeping, she knocked at his Aluminium door, to which she was met with a curious Beck.

"Come on in, it's freezing out there." Tori couldn't dispute that, "So what's up?"

Tori delayed her answer, "If I thought something was up with Jade, you'd want me to say right?"

"Tori, what's happened?"

"Is there anything different that you've noticed about Jade lately?" Tori asked, but Beck had been more focused on providing Jade with the comfort she needed rather than take note of little habits,

"Can't say I have, now tell me what happened."

"Yesterday, I caught Jade with a bottle of Vodka in school, and she wasn't about to let it go any time soon." Tori Studied Beck's face, he didn't seem fazed, "Beck…tell me you didn't know about this."

Beck couldn't look at Tori, his guilt wouldn't allow it, "Ok, so a few days ago, I went over to see Jade, her mom just told me to go straight up, and…she wasn't expecting me to…." Tori had gotten the picture by now, but still she urged Beck to go on, "Well, she heard my footsteps, and as I opened the door, I saw her stashing something under her bed….I thought it was nothing…..but then I went closer, and I could smell it, I could smell it all over her, the alcohol." No more needed to be said, Tori sensed it then, and Beck's tale confirmed it, Jade had a problem, and a serious one at that, "I..I thought it was nothing, I thought the grief was getting to her again, but now it all makes sense."

Beck didn't see Tori's hand swinging towards his face, her hand whipped him in the cheek, leaving a bright red mark on his face, "You should've told me."

"I know, Ok, I said I'm sorry, but arguing about it now won't help Jade." Tori wanted to scream at Beck, scream until her lungs would take no more, but he was right.

"We have to get her some help….what if…what if we spoke to Lane? Maybe we could just..drop the hint and ask him to talk to her?"

"I don't think Jade's gunna be cool with-" Tori cut Beck off,

"We're doing this for her own good." She sat down next to Beck, running her thumb over his reddened cheek, as if she were making a silent apology. "You know I'm right."

And she was. More than she knew, "I'll take you home." Beck said,

"Thanks." Tori replied, "And…I'm sorry for slapping you by the way."

"I deserved it." Beck said, then started smiling, "You got a pretty hard slap." Beck stroked his cheek for effect.

"Oh, I know." Tori smiled back.
