Hello, everyone! I'm here with a one-shot - it's been forever since I've really written something, so...here we go! This is a bit short, but again, I was bored and this wasn't really supposed to be anything that serious.

Sooo, I'm pretty sure everyone else noticed Merlin's sudden haircut in season three. I love it as much as the next fan, (Colin Morgan always looks adorable! :3) but I had this strange idea that...I mean...what if Arthur was the one who gave Merlin the haircut? XD

"Ar – Arthur, I don't think this is a good idea…Gaius could always do it…" Merlin said meekly as Arthur forced him down on a stool. Merlin was nervous – the prince had decided that Merlin's hair was 'getting too long' and that as the prince of Camelot, Arthur was supposed to be responsible for how Merlin looked.

"Don't be ridiculous!" Arthur replied jovially, oblivious to Merlin's tone. He walked to the cabinet and yanked out a pair of scissors with what Merlin thought was a maniacal smile. The warlock shrank as Arthur walked towards him, snapping the scissors open and close violently.

Merlin gripped the edge of his stool nervously. "Arthur, are you sure you want to do this? When was the last time you cut someone's hair?" He asked slowly.

Arthur paused, flinging the scissors casually around his fingers. "Hm…never, actually." At Merlin's startled, uneasy look, the prince snorted, "But that's fine – there's always a first time for everything! Now, hold still!"

Merlin closed his eyes in horror as Arthur opened the scissors again. At first, Merlin didn't feel anything. He heard the snip, snip of the scissors and he felt hair dropping to his face. Merlin squeezed his eyes tighter and then he felt a sharp, violent tug from his hair. He winced and asked in a high-pitched voice, "Arthur, what are you doing?!"

There was a short silence.

"It's nothing, Merlin! Calm down!" Arthur replied, holding up a small chunk of hair with a bewildered expression on his face. Maybe cutting hair would be a bit more difficult than he thought…

"You paused." Merlin said, eyes wide. He whirled around to look at Arthur and immediately spotted the hair. He groaned and shook his head, exasperated. "This is why I told you not to cut my hair." He ran a hand through the back of his head. "And Arthur, it feels uneven."

"Are you telling me how to cut your hair?" Arthur asked incredulously and quickly throwing the hair on the ground, he whirled Merlin back around. "You are not moving from this seat until I'm completely finished!"

"Oh, I'm going to regret this, aren't I?" Merlin muttered miserably under his breath, closing his eyes again. Arthur wisely decided not to answer that. He slowly started to cut through Merlin's bangs, causing the younger man to flinch each and every time a hair dropped down his face.

When Arthur had finished the deed, he took a step back and swung the scissors around his hands, though he was careful enough not to accidentally stab himself. "Well…it doesn't look that bad! Not bad at all!" Arthur said slowly as Merlin opened his eyes.

The dark-haired man slowly looked up and said, "I'm not quite sure if I want to look at myself in the mirror."

Arthur frowned. "It's not awful!" He replied, and, grabbing Merlin by the shoulders, forced him to stand up. "Your hair looks…almost spiky…"

The two stopped in front of a mirror. Merlin took one look at the mirror and turned back to Arthur, expressionless.

"Well?" Arthur smiled hopefully.

Merlin took a deep breath and said, "I think I know why you're not in charge of cutting hair now."

The warlock was thankful that he was quick – he had to run to avoid Arthur's hand that was coming at his head.

A/N - Again, this was kind of thrown together out of nowhere and I did say it was short. Don't judge me! XD
