Chapter 5:

(3rd Person Point of view)

Hiccup was almost happy that the Night Fury hadn't shown himself since yesterday. He was too much of a trouble maker, and didn't listen enough.

Even though he was in a better mood, he had this feeling inside him that kept telling him that something was wrong. Something that wasn't right.

He couldn't put his finger on what it was.

As he helped his dad with duties around the village, he just ignored it.

He also spent time with Stoick to help to plan the structure to re-build the house.

Meanwhile, Toothless, not being able to fly away without Hiccup, had just run away from the town. And as he went away, he found himself exploring Berk, he realised he had underestimated how large the place is from the ground.

All the sea stacks that are actually connected to the main island are so many.

The majority seemed to be forests, huge trees, and tickling grasses.

And as he walked on, he kept to himself. Only pausing to look at a passing animal, or a spectacular view.

He kept his thoughts to himself, though there wasn't exactly anyone around he could share them with anyway.

It was early morning still, the sun seemed to refuse to come any higher in the sky.

Toothless had not slept the night before, having wandered most of the night before settling down and just counting the leaves.. Afterwards he took off and had been walking away since till the present.

He had considered going to the cove, where he had many fond memories. But chose not to.

Back in those days, he helped Hiccup find his purpose. He was Toothless's best and only friend. They were best of friends.

(Toothless 1st Person Point of View)

How has it come to this?

Why did our friendship take such a different turn? How come Hiccup suddenly became so demanding and expectant?

After we defeated the Red Death seems to be the source of where it all started.

He must have started to think that dragons would be better to be used as pets and travel. Not friends & companions as I always anticipated.

The sun had risen a fair bit out of the horizon now, it was starting to really warm up, and the sun was very bright, so it was hard to look out over the ocean.

"What are you doing all the way out here?" Spoke a dragonese voice.

I almost literally jumped out of my skin, the voice completely taking me by surprise. It was a calming, but powerful voice. I couldn't tell whether male or female.

I looked up, and around. Expecting to see the source of the voice, but it was not to be. I could not see any trace of life other than the plants & trees.

"Uhh, hello?" I called out.

"You should go back soon. Don't forget you found your purpose with your friend too. It was a two way thing."

I was dumbfounded. I could not see where the voice was coming from.

"Show yourself! Where are you?" I tried, and looking around madly.

No answer.

"Oi, I won't be ignored! Where are you Changewing?!"

I began running around again, looking everywhere I could see. Under wooden logs, behind tree trunks, yet I found no sign of a dragon or else.

"SHOW YOURSELF OR I'LL BURN THE FOREST DOWN!" I roared. Getting frustrated.

Giggling.

The most annoying, irritating & smug giggle I had ever heard. This Changewing was laughing at me. As if saying, 'I don't care if you do, it won't help you find me.'

"Fine." I said.

Embarrassed and giving up, I walked away, following my tracks.

Paw after paw, I kept going. Keeping my ears up to stay alert for any foreign sounds.

But I heard nothing, and started to think over what was said to me from the nothingness. The voice was right. I did find my purpose with Hiccup, he taught me how to forgive and care.

And now what was I doing? All the way out here, alone.

I will go back. In time.

(3rd Person Point of View)

Stoick had finished planning out some things for his house. Given that it was destroyed yesterday, he figured he needed to re-build it again.

He was rather angry at first at the dragon, but he felt guilty afterwards, after seeing Toothless running away from the stone cold glare that Hiccup was giving. He thought he saw a lot of himself in his son in that moment.

Stoicks brother Spitelout had offered to accommodate the chief and his son for the time being. Toothless however, if he came back, was going to sleep outside. Spitelout refused to have two dragons in the house. As his own son Snotlout had Hookfang, the red Monstrous Nightmare.

"Any idea how long the construction will take?"

Stoick hears the voice on his son entering his brother's house, and listens intently to the conversation he is having with Spitelout.

"Probably about a week as a rough estimate. Providing all the workers show up at the right times, and no more dragons burn or crash the building down again." Spitelout replied.

End of Chapter 5.

Apologies about the late update, been very busy with things. My nan passed away recently, and I've been busy sorting out all her stuff.

I've been in the process of writing a new FanFic too, plus I've been trying to relieve stress by playing a few video games, so yeah, that's why it's so late. Sorry.

Nevertheless, Merry Christmas everyone, thank you so much reading, and have a Happy New Year!
