Hey guys! Alright. Brace yourself. This... is the very last chapter of SITA. I know, it's super short. But I have other things to work on, and I really think this is a good note to end on. Please don't hate me ^-^"
The last attack thing in this is from WolfieRed. Also, I didn't proofread this :P

Chapter 11 - Conclusion
The battle raged on, both sides pushing as hard as they could and gaining little ground. Danny's forces were strong, beating back wave after wave of Cainan's, but his were relentless in their attack and kept coming back. There were only so many thermoses out there, they couldn't all be contained. And unlike the humans on Danny's side, Cainan's troops never tired. The fighting was slowing down, everything would be over soon.
Even Danny and Luna were beginning to reach their breaking point. Their movements were slowing, their guard falling, and they got hit more often. Ectoplasm and blood mixed in the ground at their feet, turning it into a muddy mess. Their attention was drawn, however, when a scream sounded from a ledge nearby. They turned to see two figures falling fast- one being the possessed Dash, and the other Luke.
"Oh no," they whispered. "Luke!" The young half ghost didn't turn to look at them, instead keeping his grasp on Cainan as they plunged to the ground. He could've stopped them, but it was clear his intention was for Cainan to exit the body or be smashed into the ground. And Cainan was in shock, so much so that he couldn't think to even try floating them out of harm's way. He never imagined that anyone would actual dare to challenge him so directly.
Luna and Danny shared a look at the sight, simultaneously sending their opponents flying before they rushed towards the two. Adrenaline surged through their veins anew, pushing them forward as they prayed that they would make it in time. For a moment all battle in the area came to a stop, as the ghosts watched their leader fall to his doom and the humans held their breath for the fate of the little halfa. They weren't stupid, after the reveal of Danny and Luna being Phantom and Spirit, they realized that somehow made them Dani and Luke's parents. While there definitely wasn't time for them to figure out how, they could see that's how they felt. And after what had happened to Dani…. They feared a similar fate fro Luke would end in disaster.
Everything seemed to move in slow motion, as Danny and Luna tried desperately to make it in time and the battlefield stilled. The ground was moving closer and closer to Luke and Cainan, but the determined look in the boy's eyes never wavered. Staring at the child above him, Cainan realized he was doomed. For once, something flashed in his own eyes that no one had ever seen before.
Fear.
And that was when they hit the ground.
"...M-mom?" Luna gasped, rushing to the bedside immediately. The child lying there gave a weak cough, and an even weaker smile, but they were alive.
"Oh my god," said Luna. "Danny, come here, quick!" She shouted, stepping away from the bed for a moment. "I can't believe you're okay," she murmured, hugging the child close. Footsteps sounded on the stairs, and Danny burst into the room, eyes shining. When his gaze fell on Luna, he gave a relieved smile and quickly joined the hug. After a moment they broke apart, and the child gave a worried look.
"W-where is here? I t-thought.." Her words were cut off by more coughing, but Danny and Luna had understood. They looked to the ground.
"He's… down in the lab," said Danny. "He's in critical condition." Dani's eyes widened, and Luna sighed.
"What Luke did… He saved a lot of lives. If he hadn't done what he had, then we would have lost a lot more people. We attacked Cainan directly, and he had us outnumbered. Your brother did what he thought he had to."
"Will he be alright?!" The stutter was gone, and her voice was filled with worry. Dani couldn't accept a world where Luke wasn't right by her side. Her father squeezed her hand, looking into the eyes that perfectly mirrored his own.
"We don't know."
The clouds were thick and dark, cooling the air and casting strange shadows on the ground. It wasn't raining yet, but it certainly would've matched the mood of those gathered in the clearing below. A black cloud of people, heads down, hands clasped together, and tears streaking down many faces. A few mounds of dirt were stationed before them, freshly place with gray stones placed in the top. There were exactly three.
A man stood before the group of people, head bowed in respect. His purple cloak seemed darker, somehow, and even the constant shifting of his forms was slowed. When spoke, his voice was thick with emotion.
"Today we put to rest the souls of those who lost their lives in the war between us and Cainan. Every single one lost did so in a moment of bravery, dying for a worthy cause. However, that does not mean they will not be missed. Today we have met to honor their memory, so they will not be forced to stay behind in the Ghost Zone, and risk becoming as twisted as Cainan." He looked up and spread his arms, gesturing widely to the graves behind him.
"Dash Baxter, a Quarterback at Casper High and long remembered as a bully. He threw aside that reputation for the good of everyone, doing what he could for the war effort. During the fight he was possessed by Cainan himself, who refused to separate from the boy, knowing he could not be attacked without Dash being killed. Luke took action anyway, throwing himself and Dash off of the cliff he was on. In his last moments, after Cainan was separated from him, he said he was proud to have helped, and he wouldn't change it." Dash's family huddle together at Clockwork's words, proud of their son, but of course wishing he could still be with them.
"Maria Spearum, a proud mother and investigator of the paranormal. She died protecting her daughter while her back was turned, stopping the attack that would have ended Luna's life instead." Luna's father hugged her close, holding back his own tears while she simply let hers flow. She knew there was no point stopping them now. She looked up at her father briefly, hugging him back. They would be okay. It would take time, but they would be okay.
"And finally, Valerie Gray. A fierce ghost hunter in her own right, and also a student at Casper High. Surrounded and outnumbered, she sacrificed herself in order to completely destroy a large portion of Cainan's forces. Her sacrifice freed many of our forces, saving their lives." Valerie's father stood alone, a few tears having leaked down his cheeks. He was proud of her, even though he hadn't wanted her ghost fighting in the first place. He knew that there would have been a lot more graves had she not taken action.
"Danny, Luna, you guys need to get to the lab, now!" Sam came running into the kitchen, surprising the two halfas that had been working on lunch for everyone. Immediately their thoughts went to Luke, who for the past two weeks had been comatose. Unresponsive, but still alive. They feared the worst, and without asking for an explanation they ran out of the kitchen and down to the lab. When they got their Maddie and Jack were standing around the hospital bed Luke had been placed in, blocking the view. When they heard the footsteps they turned, real smiles on their faces for the first time since the battle had ended. The older halfas stopped at the smiles, slowly continuing into the lab after a moment. They didn't believe what it could mean.
"Is he…" Danny couldn't finish the sentence, leaving it open for interpretation. His parents nodded, stepping away from the bed. When the left the revealed a small form, eyes fluttering as he turned his head to see the new visitors.
As they had when Dani awoke, they rushed forward, disbelief in their eyes at the sight before them. Everyone had pretty much given up hope, they thought he would be comatose indefinitely or worse, dead. So to see him moving and awake, trying to sit up as his parents came forward… they didn't know what to say. But words weren't necessary. They conveyed their feelings just fine by wrapping their arms around him, hugging him tightly but still being careful not to hurt him. They distantly registered that Maddie and Jack were leaving to give them some space, and probably to get Dani.
After another moment they pulled away, smiling at the boy as another set of footsteps zoomed down the stairs and Dani burst into the room. She reacted much like her parents, except louder.
"Luke!" She yelled, running over and hugging him. "I thought you'd never wake up." The boy gave a slight smile.
"Well… I did." He said softly, voice rough from disuse. After Dani pulled back he looked at Luna and Danny. "... What happened?" It didn't take a genius to realize he meant what happened after he and Cainan fell. He'd fallen unconscious after that, so he didn't know. Danny and Luna shared a look, before the latter sighed.
"Well…"
They hit the ground right as Danny and Luna reached them, Luke being thrown off by the impact and slamming his head into the ground nearby. Cainan wheezed, weakened by the damage his host body had taken. With a cold glare Danny unhooked the thermos from his belt, staring at Dash's broken body. Cainan was slowly separating from it, not having the energy to maintain the hold. And as he did, he was quickly imprisoned in the thermos. Luna, meanwhile, had run to Luke's side to make sure he was okay. Ectoplasm and blood trickled from a cut on his forehead, and he had changed back into his human form. She lifted his head, holding his unconscious form close as she knelt down. Her back turned, she didn't realize there was someone coming up behind her until it was too late.
A strangled cry and the sound of a blaster going off drew her attention, and she whipped around to see her mother with a knife through her torso and holding a blaster to one of Cainan's men. She must have pulled the trigger as he stabbed her, and both fell to the ground. Luna let out a choked sob, but she didn't get time to process it as an extremely large boom filled the air, and a good portion of Cainan's men dropped to the ground. Her mouth set into a hard line she stood, wiping a tear from her eye.
They couldn't afford to hesitate, it was time to act. Adjusting their weapons she and Danny plunged back into the fray, destroying the enemy left and right. They had a chance now, the enemy troops were confused without their leader to guide them. Their numbers were still high, but falling rapidly as each minute went by. Suddenly a shout came from the other end of the field, one they recognized as Shaylee's voice. Pillars of gray and white light shot up through the battlefield, destroying the remaining enemies. Shaylee herself was encased in the light, the cause of the powerful attack. The pillars rose up, becoming teardrops that fell down, finishing off any stragglers and somewhat healing their allies. When the light died down, only Danny's troops were still standing.
So, that was it. The end of SITA. And probably Luna as a character. Next on the agenda, I have a really really awesome Miraculous Ladybug story, you guys should totally check it out once it's published. (Which will be very soon!)
Muney73 - Why thank you, thank you very much. *bows repeatedly* Yep! And now it's all over. I hope you don't hate me for what I did. And I hope you'll read my new story when it comes out! ^_^
