Hey, everyone! I'm so sorry that I'm not active like I was last year, but I had a really bad year with anxiety and depression. Like, ridiculously bad that I thought that these stories would forever remain abandoned because...well...you could guess why...
I have a lot more progress done with WAWL compared to TWIYH for anyone who wishes to know, and I am thinking of making a poll regarding TWIYH bc, tbh, I'm kinda stumped and initially had a good idea, but I feel like it's not doing the plot any favors. Lemme know in a review or a pm.
Mew was in her bed at home, snug in her bed as she began to think of all the work she had done today. She still felt that the occupation she currently held was extremely belittling considering that she was the ancestor of all Pokemon, but apparently that didn't seem to enhance any of her qualifications when seeking a job. At least she couldn't complain because now she had an income which would solely go into purchasing toys! The soft pitter patter of rain against the window of her room was keeping her awake and she saw the faint lights of civilization in the distance. She finally managed to fall asleep around 11 in the evening but it was rather difficult since the only thing that prevailed on her mind were the toys. Lots of them. She had dreams of Nintendo Switches, Barbie Jeeps, remote control helicopters, and the like.
Mew was entering a dream in which she she saw the litter pile up in front of the store. The amount of bubble gum wrappers, empty soda cans, crumpled paper, all of which towered above her! Not that it was really monumental, considering that she was just 16 inches (40 cm) tall, but the amount of work she could do based on her height would mean it would take basically an unnecessarily long time, and she didn't have time for that! The only time that she wanted to spend was playing new toys and not even work, but she knew that life wasn't like that and she had to work to get what she really wanted. She almost wanted to cry because she felt so humiliated, but it was time to move forward and hopefully prosper in her career to maybe...store Manager!
The next day arrive and Mew put on her tiny gloves and watched as Victini and her other friends arrived. Mew was happy to greet them but honestly was slightly annoyed at them. She had to deal with the envy and live with what she had and make the most of it.
It was a pretty warm day and it finally came time for lunch, so Mew went into the small room where employees gathered in the area where they ate. Mew wondered just what was going on in there minds; the greatest Pokemon working as a janitor, and she desperately wanted to speak out, but Lucario was there and she had to keep her mouth shut. She wanted to impress the others and show that she had the work ethic to advance, so she announced, "I'm through" and left the room to get her stick and bag to collect garbage.
"Mew, wait!" chirped Victini as she followed her pink friend. "You still have ten minutes for lunch. Why are you leaving now? Did we say something that upset you?"
Mew felt shocked that the other assumed she hurt Mew, which certainly wasn't the case. "No, of course not! I just figured that the more I work, the closer I would be for a promotion!"
"Oh, I see," replied Victini as she watched the other go back outside. Luckily for Mew, it wasn't really hot outside, so she was able to efficiently work, but it still aggravated her that the denizens of the surrounding area were such slobs. Mew watched in awe as many Pokemon left with some of the hottest toys on the market that could be hers one day. Remote control cars, coloring books and crayons, stuffed animals, video games, doll houses. She knew that one day she would have it all.
After getting all sweaty from being out in the sun all day (albeit it wasn't that hot) Mew finally returned home and she took a bubble bath and began to listen to some of her dance music on her old record player that was in shambles. She hated living like this, but at least it was better than nothing.
