First off I am very sorry for going MIA on you all. I've had a lot going on and was dealing with quite a bit on my plate. I didn't want to write any chapters not in my right mind. Once again I am sorry. Without further ado here is the next chapter!

Chapter Twenty-One

~Laxus' point of view~

It didn't take Mira long to get here which didn't surprise me that woman was fucking nuts when it came to couples and love. I start walking down stairs to the front door which the she-devil is banging on like a crazed lunatic.

"Laxus I'm here to help make your evening a success so open the damn door! We don't have a lot of time left until 8pm." Mira's shouts were mixed in with the pounding of the door. As I reach for the door knob Mira kicks the door down and has changed into her Satan Soul. She sends me and the door flying towards the wall. "Oh there you are Laxus I was worried since you didn't answer the door right a way." She says and she drops the transformation.

"You didn't have to kick my door down Mira," I groan picking myself off the ground.

"Yes I did Laxus! If was in the name of love! It was for all the cute little blonde haired babies!" Hearts start to form in her eyes as she clasps her hands together and begins spinning in a circle. Suddenly her weird love dance comes to an end and she turns towards me. "So Laxus what did you have in mind for your date with Lucy tonight?"

"Well I was originally going to take her to that new restaurant that just opened but I want to do something that is just me and her. I need this to be special so she understands how I really feel by the end of the night." I tell her running a hand through my hair. "What I have plan is going to require the help of another Fairy Tail mage though. I'm not too sure how willing they will be to helping me though." I sigh dropping my hand back to my side. I look back a Mira to see a scary black aura circling around her.

"Tell me who it is you need to help. I will personally speak with them and make them understand the importance of this date. This is all in the name of love!" She smiled her creepy smile as her Satan Soul began to surface once again. Man this chick could be scary I don't see how the hell Freed puts up with her mood swings.

"Well I need Gray's help-"

"Oh if it's Gray I'm sure he will help Lucy is like his little sister and only wants her to be happy. Plus he already told me that he is happy that she has you to lean on." Mira beamed interrupting me from my attempt to tell her about why I need his help. I was surprised with what she just said about Gray being happy that Lucy had me. I didn't think anyone from her team would be okay with her being with me. Let ex-team I guess seeing as she is no longer on that crazy wagon. "Oh but Laxus I don't really see why you need Gray's help it's not like he is a love guru like me. Honestly what help could Gray give you that I can't?" Another mood swing hits the she-devil again as she stands there with a smile full of venom.

"Well if it's the ice freak we are talking about obviously I need him to freeze something."

~Lucy's point of view~

I couldn't pull my eyes away from the mirror, I couldn't believe the person starring back at me was really me. I heard Ever squeal behind me and clap her hands together.

"Lucy you look absolutely stunning! Laxus is going to be so surprised when he sees you. He's going to be blown away!" Ever put her hand on my shoulder pulling me away from my reflection for a moment. "Really Lucy you look beautiful and I know Laxus cares a great deal for you." Ever smiles and pulls me into a hug. "Now come on let's get you dressed and back to Laxus it's already 6:30 we don't have much time left." I nod my head and seal one last glance at the mirror before getting up and following Ever to the back to change.

I still had a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact that Laxus and I were going on a date to some fancy and probably expensive restaurant. It was even more difficult to process the fact that he's letting me live with him, and bought me lots of clothes and well pretty much a new everything since my apartment and everything I owned was lost in the fire. I knew I had always admired him from a distance but I never thought that my little one sided crush would go anywhere. I'm so plain and beyond normal when compared to Cana or Mira even Ever. They were all ever beautiful women that had much more charm and beauty in there little finger then I did in my whole body. I still couldn't believe that even with women like them in Fairy Tail Laxus would look at me. I was quickly pulled from my thoughts when Ever pulled me into the changing room.

"Here you go Lucy you need to change." She starts handing my the dress and stops for a moment to study me. "Lucy is something bothering you?" The question caught me off guard as I quickly looked up at her. I sigh as she eyes me waiting for an answer.

"Well I guess I'm just a little nervous. I've never had a real relationship with anyone or done anything with anyone. I feel like I don't measure up to Laxus." I let out another sigh and start removing my clothes to put on the dress.

"Lucy just because you don't any past relationships doesn't mean you're not good enough for Laxus. He really cares for you and trust me you don't have to be experienced to make him happy. You make him happy just by being yourself. I've never seen him care for anyone the way he does for you. Trust me Lucy he loves you for you." Ever smiles at me once again and I feel my own lips tug at a smile. Ever really is good at consoling people.

"Thank you Ever you've been so helpful today and I'm really happy that I got to actually know you a little better." I feel my smile widen a little more.

"It's no problem Lucy I'm glad I could help you get ready plus now I have a new shopping buddy that isn't going to complain the whole time." Ever rolled her eyes at the last part clearly thinking of all the times she had to go shopping with the boys on her team. "Men are the worse went it comes to shopping unless they are buying. They maybe it's okay." I giggle as she ponders the thought and start to shimmy into my dress.

When I have my dress on I move on to my shoes which were beautiful black lace heels with a peek toe opening in the front to show off my lovely pedicure. Next I put on all the jewelry that Ever insisted I needed to complete the outfit. Simple diamond studded earrings and a white gold bracelet with a few diamonds in it as well and a matching necklace. After having everything in place I looked over my appearance once again and gasp at the sight in front of me. I really looked amazing, the whole look had Ever starring in awe. I suddenly felt a wave of anxiety wash over me. What if Laxus didn't like the look? As I mentally battled out the answer in my head I heard Ever's voice pierce through my thoughts.

"You look absolutely memerizing Lucy, there is no way that Laxus would think any different." Once again Ever brings my spirits up and I nod my head in agreement. I do a little twirl for her so she can get the full affect of the gown and make over and she lets out another squeal of delight. "That dress is a show stopper Lucy I'm jealous!" I laugh again and follow Ever out of the dressing room and back into the front of the salon.

All of the people who helped me get ready for the night came over and commented on the over all finished look. telling me that I looked breath taking and there was no way Laxus would be able to keep his hands off me which caused me to blush like crazy. The thoughts of this morning come back to me and how we almost had sex if his team didn't show be able to keep his hands off me which caused me to blush like crazy. I then promised them to return and fill them in on how the date went. Once finished bidding the salon employees goodbye me and Ever walk outside where a carriage is waiting for us.

"Well Lucy it's already 7:30 this is where we go our separate ways I'm afraid. Don't worry I'll follow the carriage most of the way to insure you make it back safely." I nodded my head starting to feel nervous about returning back to Laxus' house.

"Thank you Ever for everything. I would be a complete mess if you weren't here to help me through all of this." I pull her in for a hug and she giggles hugging me back.

"Yeah you would but lucky for you I was here to help." She winked wishing me good luck and shutting the door to the carriage.

The carriage ride back to Laxus house was a quiet one that left me with my thoughts. My mind wondered back to the magic store and finding the new Demon Key. Basilisk the serpent. I remember Cerberus saying he had quite the interesting personality I wonder what he meant by that. I pull out the key and examine it. The key was black with a silver serpent twisting up the key with icy blue eyes. I run

my fingers over the key and feel magic pulse from the key. I let of a breath and put the key back away. I promise I'll make a contract with you tomorrow Basilisk. I think to myself as the carriage comes to a stop.

"We are here madam." The coachmen opens the door of the carriage and offers me a hand to help me out, I say a quick thank you and begin walking to the door of Laxus house.

Just as I reach the door and knock I hear the voice of someone coming around the house. I turn to see who it is and my breath catches in my throat. The voice I heard belonged to none other then the lightning dragon slayer himself. I had to say he looked amazing, he sported a black tuxedo with a standard white button up. What threw me off was his tie and vest seemed to match my dark purple dress perfectly. His hair was in its usual spiky style that I loved, he began to walk towards me until he stood right in front of me. I picked up one of my hands and gently laid a kiss on the top of my hand.

"You look absolutely beautiful." I felt my cheek heat up and looked up at his face to see him smiling. He grabbed my hand again and pulled me forward into a hug and pressed a kiss on my forehead. I sighed contently and wrapped my arms around his waist. "Come on Lucy," He intertwined his fingers with mine and pulled me of the front porch and around the house. I gave him a curious look wondering why we were going out back. He chuckled and squeeze my hand. "Guess you'll have to wait to see."

I follow Laxus behind his house and down a little walk path through the woods for a while. he finally came to a stop when we reached the end of the path with vines and twigs blocked the rest of the way. Laxus pulled back the thick vines and motioned for me to enter. I stepped inside to see a circle opening in the forest. It looked amazing just from the little I saw. I felt Laxus shift beside me and take my hand in his once again. He led me through the opening down a stone path, there were several dim lit light lacrima's set up to light the path and lots streamers and beaded ropes that had cow lilies and bonnets hanging from them. Once we reached the center of the circle a pond came into view and I felt my breath catch in my throat and my eyes begin to water from the sight in front of me.

Laxus gentle tugged me the rest of the way so I could take in the whole view. The light lacrima's with the screamers and beaded ropes and flowers seems to flow around the pond in a circle lighting the way hanging from the few trees that were in the opened circle. There were so many fireflies that swarmed the area adding the source of light. But what really got me was the pond. There was a think layer of ice coating the top. The ice was crystal clear letting us look at the beautiful blue water and the fish inside pond. There were frozen roses rimming the pond adding to the unique beauty. White and pink rose petals were scattered along the thick icy surface bringing in a little color and adding to the already romantic scenery. At the other end of the pond a table for two was placed and decorated with a table cloth with a pink lace on top of it. Pink roses were set in a white crystal vase in the center of the table with a bottle of champange in an ice bucket next to it. The table already had food set out and ready to be eaten. I turn to Laxus truly amazed with everything he did just for me. I felt so special to him for him to go through all of this just over a little deal for helping me out back at the GMG.

~Laxus' point of view~

I heard the carriage pull up and straightened up my clothing a little before walking to the front of the house. The view that greeted me probably had to be the most breath taking view I've seen in my life. Lucy stood there in an amazing dark purple curve hugging dress with black lace laying over the top of the purple. The dress flared out slightly at the ends of her thighs. The dress showed off her sinful sexy body while still looking elegant at the same time. Ever had told me the color of the dress so I could somewhat coordinate my outfit with hers. I let my eyes travel up to her face and felt my heart beat quicken. Her flaxen her cascaded down her back and shoulders in big beautiful curls making her look like the young heiress she is. She had light make up done that brought out her eyes and plush pink lips. Her cheeks were stained a delightful shade of pink as she also took in my appearance. I walk towards her and pick of her hand placing a kiss on the top of her hand.

"You look absolutely beautiful." I tell her as her cheeks turn from a slight pink to a full of blushing red. I smiled at how cute she looked and pulled her into my embrace and kissed her on her forehead. She sighed happily wrapping her arms around my waist. We stayed like that for a moment just holding each other. I pulled away and grabbed her hand in mine. "Come on Lucy," I pull her off the front porch and start down the path to the little opening in the woods. She gave me a curious look and I couldn't help but chuckle. "Guess you'll have to wait to see."

I continued to lead her through the forest behind my house until we reached the vined entrance to the little field. I released her hand and motion for her to step through to the other side. I stepped through and noticed her taking in just the little details of the decorations. I grabbed her hand again and led her down the stone path to true destination. Once the pond came into view I heard her breath catch and could smell tears, I quickly turn to see what was wrong and seen her smiling as she a few tears escaped her eyes. She took in the whole sight standing quietly, she suddenly turned towards me smiling.

"Thank you Laxus think is so much more then I could ever ask for. It's so amazing." Her eyes sparkled as she spoke, I felt a grin tug at my mouth happy that she liked the setting.

"Come on lets eat before the food gets cold." She nods her head and latches onto my arms as we step onto the icy pond. We walk to the table and I pull the chair out for her causing her to giggle.

"Why thank you good sir," She chimes in her polite high society manner that Freed likes to use to annoy the shit out of me.

"Only for you my lady," I give a bow and play along with her, I hear her laugh fill my ears and smile as I take my seat across from her. "Champagne for my lady?" I ask pulling the bottle out of the bucket of ice. She nods her head and I begin to fill our cups. I give her one of the glasses of the champagne. She swishes the liquid around for a moment before bringing the glass up to her lips and sipping a little of the golden liquid. She hums her approvable as she brings the glass back down from her delicious mouth.

"This looks wonderful Laxus," She chimes as she studies the food in front of her.

Thanks to Mira I had an idea of what to prepare for dinner since I didn't know anything that she liked. I frowned inwardly at how little I know about the blonde in front of me. The thought brought me back to the party the King had in our honor and the gold band ring she received. I looked her over to see if she had the ring on and sure enough on her right hand ring finger sat the golden band. I felt curiosity eat away at me about the story behind that ring and couldn't help myself when I asked.

"So I never did get to hear the story behind that ring." I pointed to her right hand, she looked down and smiled at the simple gold band.

"I'll tell you while we eat then." She glanced back up at me and then back at the food.

"When my mother and father first met the Heartfilia Railroads had not been put up. They met at Love and Lucky merchant guild. My father told me the first time he ever seen her he knew she was the one for him. I being a small child at the time didn't quite grasp what he was telling me but nodded my head for him to continue. He told me that he never got to buy my mother a real ring that all he could afford at the time was a cheap little silver ring from a shop down the street. He told me that she had always wanted a gold ring and big beautiful house that her dreams were big for them. He worked everyday to make her dream house a reality after they married. Soon after the Heartfilia Railroads were built I was born and my father had still failed to get her the ring. He was always so busy and mama never complained she was so happy that we had more then she could ever hope for. One day when I was five my father told me about how he wanted to get her a real ring that she could treasure. He had asked if I wanted to go into town with him and help him find the perfect ring for her because after all he would need my skills in picking out jewelry. Before he left I snuck into my mother's room and took her silver ring so I could compare it to the others at the shop we were going to. When we arrived into town we stopped at many jewelry stores but couldn't seem to find anything that mama would really love. Just as we were about to call it a day I seen a couple having a ring made at one of the made shift shacks in the shopping center. I tugged on my father's coat and pointed to the shack and pull him over.

'Hello little lady and sir how can I help you today?' The man working the shop asked us. I then pulled out my mother's ring and handed it to the man getting a confused look from my father in the process.

'Hello sir can you make this ring into gold. My mommy wants a gold one now but I think it would be better if we could still keep the old one too. Don't you think so too daddy?' I asked looking up at him to see him smiling.

'I think that's a wonderful idea Lucy.' He nodded to the man and he started working on the ring melting it down and adding in the gold my mama always wanted. When the ring was finished he handed it back to me for my approval, the ring he handed me looked the same as before but now a lovely rose gold color.

'Excuse me sir but can you do one more thing and then it will be perfect for my mommy.' The man looked at me and nodded his head.

'Anything to make your mama happy little lady.' I placed the ring back into his hand.

'My mommy is a celestial mage and really likes the sky. Is there a way to put words on it that light up with her magic?' The man looked at me still smiling shaking his head yes. 'Then could you put these words on it?' I handed him a piece of paper I found next to the ring in my mama's room while my father glanced down at me curiously.

'What is it you had imprinted into the ring my dear?' My father asked me as the man finished his handy work giving the ring back to me.

'It's a surprise for you and mommy.' I beamed at him.

'You have a very sweet daughter sir, trust me when I say your wife will love the ring.' With that we left the shop and began our journey home.

Once we arrived back at the house I raced inside to find mama. She was sitting outside on the swing enjoying the nice summer breeze when I found her. My father had been following me and I climbed up into the swing with her.

'Darling I have a surprise for you that our sweet Lucy helped me with.' Papa handed the little box we got for the ring with a pretty pink bow on top. She undid the bow and opened the box and gasped.

'This is so beautiful," She smiled as tears gathered in her eyes. 'I love it dear it reminds me so much of the silver ring.'

'That is because it is the silver ring. We had it melted down and combined with gold it was all Lucy's idea. She also had the man engrave something into the surface but it needs to be touched by magic for you to see it.' With that said my mother called on some of her magic, words started to form on the top of the ring winding along the surface. I heard my mother begin to cry as she read the words.

'You are my sun, my moon, and all my stars.'

I heard my father gasp and mother begin to laugh as they both pulled me into a hug. Apparently the little note I found along with the ring were from when my papa purposed to mama."

Once she finished her story she glanced back down at the ring smiling recalling the events. She really was amazing without even realizing it. I get up from my seat and offer her my hand which she quickly takes and lead her to the center of the pond. Music begins to play and I do another cheesy bow for her and extend my hand for her to take. She giggles and curtsies taking my hand in hers. We sway to the music for awhile in content silence listening to the music play in the background.

"Lucy I need to tell you something." I say getting her attention.

"And what would that be Laxus?" She asks smiling at me as we continue to spin around on the thick ice.

"We've been through a lot within this last week with everything that happened at the GMG. Even when we came home things were still going crazy. Through all the madness though we've been together. Back at the GMG when future Rogue stabbed you with the shadow sword, for the first time in a long time I felt really weak that I couldn't do anything to stop it from hitting you." I stopped for a moment and glanced down at the scar that covered her chest where she was hit. I ran my fingers over the skin causing a shiver to run down her back. "I thought that I had lost you in that moment without ever really getting to know you. For the first time ever I felt scared. When you blacked out Wendy had lost you for a moment and didn't know if she could bring you back to us... to me." Her eyes widened as she stared up at me. I brought my hand up to her cheek and caressed it pulling her closer to me. "Even though we haven't been together really long I feel this strong desire to keep you with me and to protect you. I've never felt such a strong pull towards anyone before I met you. Even before the GMG I've always felt the need to talk to you but always restrained myself because of the Fantasia incident." She opened her mouth to interrupt me but I covered her mouth stopping the words from leaving her mouth. "Let me finish Lucy," I wait for her to nod before I drop my hand from her mouth. "After I had you turned into stone and threatened to turn you into a pile of stone dust I didn't feel like I had the right to speak to you. After watching Wendy trying to bring you back though I started thinking about all the times you had stopped to say good morning to me or my team. All the times you tried talking to me and I just shrugged you off. I felt so helpless knowing I couldn't do anything to save you and that I never got to know you. When Wendy finally brought you back, I don't think I've ever felt so relieved in my life. The thought of loosing you drove me crazy. Lucy I really care for you and I don't want to ever have to worry about loosing you again." She gazed at me with tears in her eyes threatening to fall at any moment. I pulled her closer to me and tilt her head back pressing my lips against hers. I felt a shiver run down her spine and her mouth smile against mine.

"Laxus are you asking me to be your girlfriend?" Her smile widen as pink dusted her cheeks.

"No I'm not," I saw her smile falter the slightest as I continued. "Because what I want with you is so much more then a simple relationship. Already I've started to fall for you. You've managed to slip beneath my skin invading my body and soul seizing my heart in the process. I want you here with me not as a girlfriend but as my companion, my partner, my lover, I want you to be just mine."

As soon as the words left my mouth I felt her pull me down and she slammed her mouth against mine. I wrapped my arms around her waist and tilted her head to deepen the kiss. I slid my tongue across her lips begging for entrance. She parted her lips invited me into her delicious mouth. Our tongues tangled together doing a little tango inside ours mouths. Slowly Lucy started to pull away and looked up at me a stunning smile on her face. We stayed out that night dancing and watching the night sky. Lucy showed me the stars and constellations and the stories behind them. Never before in my life have I ever felt so content and happy as I do in this moment with her. I need this woman more then I've ever needed someone and I promised myself in this moment as she gazed up the stars eyes shinning brightly as she pointed out the zodiac that I do everything in my power to protect her and that smile.

A very long chapter for my amazing readers that I love so very much. This chapter sort of went in a complete different direction then planned but none the less I'm really happy with the end result.
