Chapter 20: Brother? Son? Father?

Percy POV

I was all ready to finally confront Artemis's fear of talking to her brother. I couldn't believe how much of an effort it was to get her out of bed and get her ready! When she finally exited her tent and caught sight of me, she immediately ran back inside, confirming my suspicions that she was planning to run away.

Sighing, I dissolved into water, appeared behind her and then shadow travelled to right outside Apollo's temple. She immediately whirled, furious but since I was ready I closed the distance between us and kissed her. The anger seemed to dissolve from her body, and I lightly shoved her to the door of the palace, before disappearing again.

Artemis POV

Stupid male idiot forcing me to do stuff that I don't want to do rascal. Ill show him. Im going to march straight up to Apollo and tell him, fix it and then be back in time to whip him into shape! Stupid man. Making me spend hours last night practicing. PRACTICING! Urgh.

I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't even notice that I was inside Apollo's temple and was wandering around until I appeared in a strange room. The walls were not golden, but a light shade of silver. There, what I saw made me gasp. Surrounding me were millions of pictures, pictures of Apollo and I when we were little. There was me teaching him how to hold a bow, and there was when we were running to Olympus. How, how did he get these! Camra's didn't exist back then!

"They are made from memories" Came a voice that I came here to hear but was dreading all the same." Looking behind me, I could see Apollo, standing in the doorway, a blank expression on his face. "Dont you know it is impolite to barge into someone's temple without permission Artemis?"

I bit back a retort. Wrong wrong wrong! He cant all me Artemis. He has to call me 'Arty' or 'Little sis'

I sighed and looked at him. I could see in his eyes that this hurt him too, but he was prepared to keep it up. He wanted to be him. I knew what I had to do.

"Apollo Im sorry. I have treated you like shit, I have pushed you away and never accepted your help. I have never allowed myself to become close to you like a sister should be, always pushed you away and used my man hating persona around you. I have broken your heart, and still pushed you away. I taught my hunters how to hate men, and I thought of you as a classic example of what I hated, but I was wrong. I couldn't see my brother. My own brother." I said, tears in my eyes as I finished.

He couldn't hold it anymore. Running forwards, he pulled me into a tight hug, and for the first time in millennia I was hugged by my brother. "Im sorry, Im sorry, Im sorry." I said, over and over and over again.

"Shh Artemis. You have nothing to be sorry for. Everyone makes mistakes. Im just so glad, so glad that you have realised yours!" He said softly.

I pulled away and beamed at him. I was so happy that my brother was back with me! I punched him lightly in the arm and said, "So, no more being a idiot?" I asked sarcastically.

He laughed as well. "No, on the contrary now I can go back to being an idiot! It will be such a relief!"

I raised my eyebrows at him, and he shrunk. "Artemis, you are the goddess of the hunt and a virgin goddess, but you are not the goddess of virginity. Yet it still hurts you when a virgin is harmed. I am the god of truth. Every lie, every pain brough by that lie I can feel. I can feel every wound that cant be healed, and the only relief I get is when a wound is healed. Im an idiot just so I can stay sane."

I was once again shocked. There is really a lot that I need to learn about my brother. Maybe, maybe just maybe im wrong about some of the other gods and goddesses as well?

He smiled at me, as if reading my mind. "Ahh my little sis is on it!" He exclaimed.

"I am NOT your little sis!" I shouted, and he grinned, "Maybe, but I will still be your big protecting brother!" He shot back and I scoffed. "When have I needed your protection? When have you protected me my mighty brother" I joked, and he laughed.

"maybe I havnt directly, but who do you think gave dad the idea about Perseus guarding the hunt?" He asked slyly.

"I suppo... WAIT WHAT!" I screamed. "you gave dad the idea? Its because of you that Percy is guarding the hunt?" I said, and he paled immediately. "Ummm maybe?" He said, and I crushed him in a hug, before jumping back just as quick, blushing insanely. "Ohh someone is happy about Percy" Apollo said, neutrally. I gulped and tried to find a way out of the rabbit hole that I had created. "Well umm, urgh goddamit I guess he has become a friend of mine, and i was simply greatful that you got me my first male friend." I said, beaming at my genius.

"ohh so that's why he is currently hiding on top of us evesdropping!" Exclaimed Apollo before suddenly shooting a beam of power above him, causing a shadow figure to drop down with a yelp, before flipping and landing gracefully.

"Heyyy what gives" Said Percy, and Apollo burst out laughing, pointing at my expression. But at the minute I couldn't have cared, I was glaring daggers at Percy, who paled and turned slowly. He caught sight of my eyes and gulped.

"What were you doing up there Percy?" I hissed, and he gulped again before saying, "Umm, I was chilling and decided that APollpo's temple would be a good place to relax?" He said hopefully, causing me to smack him in the stomach.
"What have I said about Lying to me Percy!" I exclaimed, causing him to smirk, throw his hand across my shoulders and support himself. "Hmm, I think it was not to do it Arty, So I guess I should tell Apollo the truth hey?" He said, quietly, causing me to blush before swing at him arm... hard.

"Hey geez I was just joking! I was just there so that if you messed up I could save you! I did say that we would fix this TOGEHTER!" I just kept glaring at him, causing him to sigh and back off, before spinning behind me and tickling me suddenly. "Loosten un will you!" he exclaimed, before returning with a vengeance. I just couldn't stop laughing, withering under his merciless fingers as they tickled everywhere where I was vulnerable. "P. !" I mumbled, before he stopped, laughing his head out. "Look Artemis, Im glad you fixed up with your brother, but Yesterday in my dreams Poseidon summoned me, telling me he has something of the utmost importance to tell me, so Ill be right back kay? Cya!" Before flashing out.

I gulped and faced a strangely serious Apollo. "I think we need to have a little talk, sister." He said coolly, causing me to gulp.

Percy POV

I was honestly quite confused as to what dad would want. He has never really summoned me because of something important, well, apart from that letter before Thalia's tree. And when Mum died. And before the giants war. And... Ok, maybe he has summoned me...

Water travelling into Atlantis, I faced my father, who looked more weary, pale and broken then when he was fighting to preserve his kingdom against the titans! Immediately I rushed over to him and put my hand on his shoulder. "Hey, dad, what's up?" I asked, calmly, but to my dismay, he started crying as I talked to him, causing me to shake him. "Dad? Dad! Dad you have to tell me whats wrong! Let me help you dad!"

He looked at me with eyes full of pain. Choking, he managed to mumble. "Yes, Percy. I do need to tell you something. Sit down." I obliged.

Sighing, he ran his hand through his messy hair before he spoke. "Yesterday, about a hour before I summoned you, I was summoned myself. A mysterious person spoke to my mind, and then placed a hand on my head in that encounter. By the gods Percy, the amount of power that her hand had made me feel like an ant in comparison! A ant! She then told me that a secret has been hidden from me, and had been hidden from your mother as well when you were born. She said that it was of the utmost importance that the secret didn't get out, so after telling us she wiped the memory from our minds. It was yesterday that she restored that memory."

I was shocked. A person so powerful that my ant is nothing in comparison? Well ok, he is something, but he is an ant, which is more or less nothing, but... Argh curse my stupid mind! I was so curious, that i managed to stop myself zoning out and concentrated back on Poseidon, who was looking at me affectionately. "So much like me, but not me at all." He muttered under his breath, before going again.

"Percy, I don't know how else to tell you this in any other way, so im going to tell you it how I was told it. You are not my son, Perseus Jackson. In fact, you are not even Jackson. You were adopted, but you are a child of this world. A child beyond the gods, but of the godly world. Your birth parents are unknown, but they or their allies managed to tamper with my mind and the prophecies to make it as though you are. I... Im sorry Percy."

LINE BREAK

Throne room. 3rd Person POV

"I can feel something unbelievably powerful opening" Muttered Zeus. Apollo immediately heard this and said, "Yes, I feel something too. I just wonder wh..." A green smoke began to pour from Apollo, as his eyes rolled.

The Hero betrayed shall be shocked once again,

And in his shock ignore the threat.

That unleashed death and destruction.

The hunters will go,

To the meeting point of all creation.

Where the rivers of the underworld, the waters from the sea and the sky itself meets

So the hero will travel,

And be his choice the last of himself, or of his family

Shall decide if Olympus once again raise or now fall.

But the threat to great to be faced by forces of Earth

Therefore Chaos shall ensure raise or fall

Based on the hero, the once thought son of Poseidon

Shall Chaos rule, or Order?

Apollo's eyes rolled to the back of his head as he stumped into unconsciousness, leaving a bewildered council of gods to ponder on the next great prophecy.

"The hero betrayed, well there has been lots of them" Said Hera.

"True, but what about this meeting point of all creation? I only know one such point, but if that is opening the we would surely be aware of it?" Questioned Athena.

"Whatever the case, it is clear. The next prophecy has been issued. We face a new threat. 'the threat to great to be faced by the forces of earth? Where else can we request help? Spoke Zeus.

"Well, we know one thing. The next great prophecy isn't for a while, Poseidon only has 2 sons, and only one is a hero, and he is obviously the son of Poseidon." Piped Athena, and the council seemed to accept that. "Where is Poseidon anyway? Its not like him to miss a meeting. And Artemis, where is your guardian?" Asked Hades, and some gods looked at the ceiling, as if expecting him to drop to the floor once again.

"They are talking about something of the utmost importance as far as i know." Shrugged Artemis, when suddenly flashed in Poseidon, looking more weary than the gods had ever seen him before. Nervously, Athena asked, "Umm, you ok Poseidon?"

He didn't even register that he had been spoken to. All the words were meaningless to him. He just walked to his throne and slumped, oblivious.

"Poseidon, Poseidon, POSEIDON!" yelled someone. Repeatedly. His shoulders were shaken violently, before he threw whoever was touching him off. His eyes widened when he caught sight of Hestia on the floor, but then he just slumped again.

Hestia was beyond shocked. Her brother had never EVER thrown anyone off, and has always loved her. What was wrong with him now? She approached him again and this time pulled him into a hug, her domain of the home more powerful than it had ever been before, but nit just seemed to make him sadder.

"Stop." Came the single word. The word wouldn't account for much, but since it was spoken by the person that they were all trying to talk to it meant quite a bit.
"Dont you understand? The most important part of my house, my home has been lost to me. No, it was never there. Your domain is ineffective." Said Poseidon, much to the shock of Hestia.

"Brother, you must tell me what happened!" Cried Hestia, and Poseidon looked at her with hollow eyes.

"Perseus Jackson is not 'Jackson.' He isn't my son. He never was. He was always from someone else. Someone else..." Poseidon said, breaking down into tears. The council was stunned for words, but there was one who was thinking. Athena. She thought this: 'based on the hero, the once thought son of Poseidon.'

The next great prophecy isn't in hundreds of years, its already started.

A/N that's that! Im sorry for this chapter being so short but I cant really think of another point to continue to. Those of you that liked the romance im sorry but now that's on hold for a while.
