Chapter 10
Blaine woke up in a strange white room. This was not his house, no room in his house was white. Except the formal living room and that was just for show. Where the hell was, he?
A faint beeping sound drew his attention. A monitor. Blaine was in the hospital. But why? He looked around the room. Alone. Was this a dream? Where was Kurt and Alex? What the hell was going on?
The last thing he remembered was opening the door and seeing his father standing on the other side. His father… Did his dad do this to him? No, there's no way that Blair would do something to him. Or was there?
"Oh, my gosh! Baby, you're awake!" Kurt said from the door. He walked over to the bed and grabbed Blaine's hand gently.
Blaine looked up at him, a confused look on his face.
Kurt kissed his forehead. "Do you want the good news, the bad news, or the terrible news first?"
"Ju- "he cleared his throat, looking around the room again.
Kurt grabbed the plastic pink cup with water and a straw. He tipped it towards Blaine, who took a small sip.
He cleared his throat again, sitting up some. He winced, glancing down at his chest. "Just tell me what's going on."
Kurt sat on the edge of the bed, putting Blaine's hand in his lap. "Well, the bad news is that your dad hired a sniper to kill us so he could get custody of Alex, like my dad and Carole aren't around. The good news is that you're going to live to fight with me and him for many more years. And the terrible news is that he's in jail on several different charges. One of them being attempted murder."
Blaine glanced down at his chest again. Noticing a white bandage wrapped around his upper chest. He touched it with his free hand and noticed an IV sticking out of it. "He wanted to k-kill us?"
Kurt squeezed his hand, giving him a sad smile. "It was a sort of payback. You took everything from him, so he wanted to take everything from us. The good thing is, the police were able to track down the sniper quickly. Blair had only gotten a few miles away when the police found him. He's not going to fight it because he was offered a sweet deal as well as protection. Seeing as he was one of the most prolific lawyers in the state, he put away more hard asses than he saved. If he goes to jail with them, he'll be dead within hours."
"That's what he gets. So, what? I don't get to testify about him coming to my house to try to kill me and my fiancé in front of our month-old son?"
"Sadly, no. He's going to be going to a maximum-security prison with protection. He won't be in New York either, since most of his convictions happened here."
"How long did he get?"
Kurt looked down at his hands. "Life with parole after twenty years. Before you ask, the deal was; max prison for life with parole if he pled guilty to attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, soliciting murder, and attempted kidnapping."
Blaine ran a hand over his face. There was stubble growing on his chin. "How long have I been out?"
"Um, a week…"
"A week? What the fuck?"
"Calm down. You had open heart surgery just about. The bullet nicked your heart, shattered a few ribs and nicked your lung. Be happy that it was only a week. Your doctor told me, some people don't wake up for weeks."
Blaine sighed softly. "I've missed a week of my son's life. Shit, I missed Christmas."
Kurt smiled. "I thought you'd mention that, so I brought you a present." He got off the bed and went over to the couch. He grabbed a box and a bag, walking back to the bed. "I didn't open what you got me yet. I was waiting for you to wake up." He handed Blaine the box.
Blaine sat up some more, wincing at the pain in his chest. He unwrapped the box, opening the lid. Inside was a picture frame. Blaine pulled the frame out and turned it around. The picture was the day Alex was born. It was in black and white. Kurt looked dazed, hair all over his head, tears running down his cheeks, but to Blaine, he was still so beautiful. His eyes were downcast, looking at a baby Alex laying on his chest. Blaine was laying next to them, holding Kurt close to him. He had tears in his eyes as he looked at his first-born son.
At the bottom of the photo, in cursive white script said; Love at First Sight. Tears sprang to Blaine's eyes as he looked at the photo. "Baby…"
Kurt kissed him softly. "Don't say anything. I know." He smiled and sat back down and looked inside the bag. It was his present from Blaine. He didn't lie, he hadn't opened it on Christmas morning. It wasn't the same for him this year. His fiancé was stuck in the hospital, in a coma. It wasn't right.
He was just happy that Caleb was able to enjoy his Christmas. It was tough because of Finn, but they were all able to help him enjoy. That was all that mattered to Kurt and his parents.
"Are you going to open it?" Blaine asked softly.
Kurt smiled, sticking his hand in the bag. He pulled out a small box. Putting the bag on the floor, Kurt opened the box. Tears immediately slid from Kurt's eyes. Inside the box was a locket that was opened. The picture was of Kurt and Finn when their parents got married. Kurt had always thought that Finn would be too embarrassed to dance with him in public, but fooled him wrong that night.
He looked up at Blaine with a watery smile. "Thank you…"
Blaine reached for his hand and squeezed gently. "You're welcome love."

Rachel wished everything that had happened in the past eleven months was a dream. From Brody's murder to Finn's death. This had been an emotional year for her. Now she was faced with being a single parent. Both of the men she loved were dead. How was she going to do this?
She looked at herself in the mirror in her bathroom. There was a small bulge sticking out from her belly, but nothing major. She had a doctor's appointment today and she hoped that Kurt would be able to make it.
Sighing, she pulled her shirt down and went to her bedroom and grabbed her phone. She called Kurt.
The phone rang twice before it was picked up and crying was heard on the other line. "Hello?"
"Hey, will you be able to make it to my appointment?"
"Yeah, I just gotta make sure that Blaine takes his pain pills and that the kids are down for a nap."
"You don't have to go Kurt, if you're too busy."
"I promised you that I would be there for you with the baby. Plus, I need to get out of this house. Blaine has been driving me nuts and I am absolutely going crazy not being able to do anything." There was rustling on his end, like he was switching Alex and the phone around. "And maybe after your appointment, we can get together with Mercedes and do lunch."
"What about Blaine and the kids?"
"Well, I can see if Nick and Jeff want to come over. I'm sure the Dalton boys would love to hang with Blaine and the kids."
"Okay, should I come to you or…"
"Um, let me make some calls and I'll let you know."
Rachel nodded even though he couldn't see it. "Alright."
They said their goodbyes and hung up. This was going to be a big day for her and she just didn't want to do it alone. Thank goodness she had Kurt.

Mercedes sat in a corner booth at Maggie's Diner. She was waiting on her friends. The waitress kept coming over to her, asking if she was ready to order. Every time, she told her no, until finally she saw Kurt and Rachel walk into the dinner. Mercedes told the waitress to bring menus for her two friends and come back in ten minutes.
Kurt and Rachel sat down, smiling at Mercedes.
"Hey beautiful lady." Kurt greeted.
"Hi Mercedes." Rachel said.
Mercedes smiled back at them. "Thank God you both showed up. That waitress was getting on my damn nerves."
Kurt laughed, looking over his menu. "We would have been here, but I had to pump and drop the milk off to the boys."
"How are the Anderson men doing?"
"Good. Alex is growing like a weed, looking more and more like Blaine every day. And Blaine's good, driving me crazy. I never thought when I won him back, I would be stuck with him for a month and a half every day. I'm glad I have my parents, because I can just hide in my studio and let them deal with him."
Mercedes and Rachel both shook their heads. "That is terrible."
Kurt laughed softly. "What's terrible is that I have to listen to him and Tyler talk every day about Blair. The man's in jail for the rest of his life. Blaine will have his job as soon as he passes the bar. No one needs to rehash what happened all the time. I swear, if I didn't witness it, I might as well have as much as they talk about it. I would just like one day when the shooting isn't mentioned."
"I'm sorry boo. At least he's able to talk about it. That man almost took him out of the game completely."
Kurt sighed softly, running a hand over his face. "I know. And I know he wants some kind of revenge for what has happened to him, but there is literally nothing he can do. Blair is doing life in prison. And if the warden is true to his word, he'll be in protective custody the whole time."
"Do you guys know where he went?"
Kurt smirked, not finding any joy or happiness in his answer. "Ohio. The second most convictions of his career happened in Ohio. So, it's pretty much just a waiting game to see if he'll survive."
"You guys have been through so much this past year. How are you holding up Rach? Any leads about Brody's case?"
Rachel put her menu down and sighed softly. "They have the men who did it in jail already. They were caught in Philadelphia. They had used Brody's credit card to get gas and some other stuff. Since I just discovered the bodies, I don't have to testify or anything which is a big stress reliever."
"That's good. I know you were worried about having to go to court for it."
"Yeah, I'm so glad I don't have to. Plus, my name isn't on anything so no one can come looking for me. All the documents say are, the girlfriend. Another big stress relief. I don't want to live my life in fear because of this. It's bad enough I'm a single mother."
Kurt rubbed her arm softly. "You're not alone. You have us. I'm going to be here as much as I can."
Mercedes put a hand on her arm. "Me too. Looks like I'm the only one still without a baby, so I get to continue to be the cool aunt."
All three of them laughed.
The waitress came over and finally took their order. She came back with drinks and disappeared once more.
"Is Sam not performing how he should?" Kurt asked, sipping his coke.
"It's not that. We have plenty of sex. I just…I don't know. Maybe my body is defective."
Rachel reached across the table and grabbed her hand. "Don't say that. It just could be timing."
Mercedes shook her head. "I'm still reeling that Kurtie was the first one of us to have a kid."
Kurt laughed softly. "Trust me, it was not planned. Blaine was still with Sebastian when I found out. They were about to get married and no one knew that he and I were seeing each other. It was a mess. I even thought about aborting Alex if he asked me to." He said that last part in a whisper.
Both girls gasped loudly, each reaching for his hand or arm. "Were you really going to do that?"
Kurt sniffled, wiping at his eyes with his free hand. "If he had asked me to, I would have. At that time, I figured I was going to be his side piece after he married Seb. I didn't want to have a baby and then be financially depended on him for the next eighteen years while he was married. I wasn't going to do that my baby or to Blaine."
"Well, isn't it a good thing it all worked out. You're even friends with Seb."
Kurt shrugged. "It was either be his friend or have an enemy for life. I surly didn't want the latter. I have enough drama in my life to not have to deal with that."
The rest of the evening was spent with light conversation. Kurt was happy to be away from his home. He loved his baby and Blaine, but daddy needed some time away with his girls.
Hopefully, he'll have more of that before he went back to work in a few weeks.

Blaine was sick and tired of being in the house all day. He wanted to go do something, but he needed time to heal. Which he understood, but he already missed a week of his life asleep in the hospital. He couldn't even help Kurt with Alex that much.
He felt like an extra burden to Kurt. Poor Kurt was doing everything around the house even when he was supposed to be resting. He did just give birth to a baby a little over a month ago. Blaine knew he was under a lot of stress dealing with Alex and still coping with Finn's death. And now this. Blaine hoped Kurt didn't go back to self-harming.
He wanted to be there for Kurt like always, but again it was hard when he was practically on bed rest himself. Only going out of the house to visit the doctor.
The only good thing about him being home was that he had all the time in the world to do his assignments. Well, not all the time, but he didn't have to worry about going to class and then having to rush to the firm to work for five hours. Those days were hell. Having mountains of work, course work and actual work.
Thinking about it, this time off was much needed. He needed to slow down, especially now that he was a father. He couldn't afford to collapse due to exhaustion, which is where he's headed if he didn't slow down.
Blaine sat at his desk in his office, ice pack on his chest and laptop on the desk in front of him. He was reading the notes from one of his classes. A notebook sat next to his laptop as he took notes. He was determined to start this semester with a bang.
With him being in the hospital for a month, he had a late start, but he was close to catching up. He wasn't going to let this tragedy to derail him from his goal.
Kurt stood in the doorway with Alex in his arms. "How much longer do you have?"
Blaine looked up at his boys and smiled. "Not too much. I actually only have two PowerPoints and three quizzes left. What's up."
Kurt shook his head, shifting Alex. "Nothing. I was just wondering if you wanted some company."
Blaine raised an eyebrow. What was his fiancé up to? "You and Alex or…"
Kurt walked in and sat on the futon across the room. He laid Alex on his lap, rubbing his back soothingly. "No, Nick and Jeff wanted to come see you. They apparently have some big news to share."
"Uh, yeah I guess so."
Kurt nodded, grabbing his phone. "Okay, finish up here and come downstairs."
"Okay."
Kurt blew him a kiss before walking downstairs with Alex. Blaine shook his head, smiling to himself. Despite everything bad that has happened, he wouldn't trade any of it. He was truly happy.
Half an hour later, Blaine sat on the couch with Alex in his lap. Kurt was in the kitchen making a bottle for the baby.
The doorbell rang and Kurt dashed to get it. Breast pump still attached to him. He opened it to two wide eyed ex-Warblers.
Jeff's eyes flicked from his face to the contraption attached to his nipple. "Um, is Blaine able to have sexy time yet?"
Kurt blushed brightly, pulling the pump off. "I was making a bottle for my child. And no, he's not up for sexy time and neither am I. I did give birth five weeks ago."
Nick shook his head, walking inside. "You know how Jeffy is, ignore him."
"Don't I always manage to do that?" he asked, closing the door behind them.
Jeff laughed. "You love me." He said, giving him a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
Kurt laughed softly. "Go to the living room. The boys are in there."
A few moments later, everyone was in the living room. Kurt had Alex once again and was feeding him. Blaine next to him, eyes glued to his infant. Nick and Jeff on the loveseat across from them.
"So, Kurt said you guys had an announcement?" Blaine said, finally looking at his friends.
Jeff smiled, reaching inside of his jacket pocket. He pulled out a small square and handed it to Blaine.
Blaine grabbed it and stared at the image. It was a grainy black and white image. There was a small bean shape in the middle. Once it registered in his brain what it was, he showed it to Kurt who gasped loudly.
"Holy shit, you're pregnant?" Kurt exclaimed.
Jeff blushed profusely, nodding rapidly.
Kurt balanced the bottle and Alex against his chest before going to give his friend a hug. "I'm so happy for you guys!"
"Thanks babe. You're the first to know."
Kurt sat back in his seat, resituating Alex and the bottle. "You didn't tell your parents first?"
Jeff rolled his eyes at his friend. "Did you tell your dad first when you found out about Alex?"
"My situation was totally different. My dad didn't find out until after that big 'fuck you Blair' dinner. But the first-person Blaine told he was going to be a dad was his mom."
Blaine blushed. "Still, our situation was different. I needed help on being with the right person."
Nick crossed his legs at the knee and smirked. "Speaking of pieces of shit, how is Sebastian handling being a dad?'
Blaine sat back, rubbing the bandage under his shirt. "I don't talk to him, but Kurt does. They've become best friends through this."
Kurt rolled his eyes, putting the empty bottle on the table next to him. He grabbed a burp cloth, placing it on his shoulder before putting Alex there. He began patting the infants back gently. "We're not 'best friends', we're simply friends with a common enemy. We bonded over everything that was happening. And to answer your question, he seems to enjoy being a dad."
"Do you know if the other father is involved at all?"
Alex let out a huge burp, whining softly. Kurt rubbed his back, cuddling him close. "Such a big burp for a tiny guy." He cooed softly. Looking up, he addressed his friends. "He gave up his parental rights."
Jeff gasped loudly. "Why?"
"Allow me to answer that." Blaine said, sitting up some. "Elliot only wanted Seb because Seb was mine. He never really wanted to be with him, but because he was my fiancé and I was still seeing Kurt, Elliot thought by sleeping with him would make him a winner. But jokes on him, I don't care."
"But the guy Sebastian is seeing, is trying to adopt the little boy."
Jeff raised an eyebrow. "What if they don't last?"
Kurt shrugged. "Then Elias will still have two fathers' instead of just one."
"I guess that makes sense."
Blaine rolled his eyes. "Now we all know, nothing Sebastian does makes sense."
All four men laughed softly.

Sebastian awoke to Elias crying through the baby monitor. Thank God for paternity leave because the amount of times this child cried through the night; Sebastian would be no good in the O.R.
He rubbed his eyes and looked over at his beside table. His phone said it was two in the morning. He had only been asleep for three hours? Fuck this. He sat up and yawned.
A hand reached over and touched his back. "Go back to sleep, I got him." Michael offered.
"You don't have milk in your chest…" he mumbled, laying back down anyway.
Michael sat up and chuckled. "And this is why you pump, my love. For times like this. Just go back to sleep, I got him."
Sebastian nodded, rolling over.
Michael reached over and kissed his forehead before going to Elias' room. The baby was in his crib, crying his heart out. Face beet read. The older man went over to his son and picked him up. "Whoo wee boy. You smell like a grown man, son."
Elias blinked up at his father, his lower lip quivering.
"Aww, did papa hurt your feelings?" he said, taking the infant over to the changing table. He flipped on the lamp next to the table and grabbed all of the supplies he needed. "Papa's sorry. You not a stinky baby."
Elias blinked a few times, putting his fist in his mouth.
Michael rolled his eyes. "You are definitely your father's child." He quickly changed his son, disposing of the offending diaper in the proper place before taking him downstairs.
In the kitchen, Michael grabbed a bottle of milk from the refrigerator before popping it into the bottle warmer. A few seconds later, both he and Elias were in the living room on the couch, with the tv on. Elias was happily drinking his bottle and Michael was watching him.
He kissed the baby's forehead. "All that fusing for nothing. Waking up your sleepy daddy. Good thing I'm here, huh? I know daddy doesn't let you watch anything fun on tv, but that's why you have me."
Elias blinked slowly, milk slipping down his chin.
"Yeah I know, Nothing with fast cars or guns."
Michael flipped through different channels before he found a race car movie. "Don't tell daddy, he'll yell at me if he found out."
Elias closed his eyes, sighing around his bottle. He finished it a few minutes later. Michael put the bottle on the coffee table before moving Elias to his shoulder. He rubbed and patted his son's back. It took a few minutes, but little Elias let out a monstrous burp.
"Good job buddy," he said, moving the baby to his arms. He laid back on the couch, grabbing a blanket to pull over them.
Sebastian rolled over, feeling the bed. The place where Michael usually slept was empty and cold. He opened his eyes and saw that the sun had come up, but not his boyfriend. Yawning, he moved out of bed, going to grab his robe. A pit stop to the bathroom later, Sebastian was walking into the living room. He grabbed the remote, turning the tv off before sitting on the edge of the couch.
"Babe?"
Michael grumbled softly, locking an arm around Elias.
Sebastian laughed softly, he loved how protective his man was over their son. It made his heart grow very fond of his boyfriend. "Micky."
Michael opened his eyes, grey-green looking into light blue ones. "Hi."
"I see the tv was on an action channel."
Michael yawned softly, sitting up some. "Yeah, Eli said he wanted to watch some fast cars."
Sebastian reached over and grabbed their son. "Sure, he did." He stood, cuddling the infant close. "Come on, we have to be at the courthouse by noon."
"I know, I know."
Both men went about their morning routines. It was a big day for them both, as well as for Elias. It was the day that Michael would officially be Elias' father.
It bummed Sebastian out that the real father didn't want anything to do with his child, but he was also happy that his wonderful boyfriend wanted to step up and be a dad. Sebastian realized how blessed he was to have Michael in his life.
A few hours later, the blended family was in the car on their way to the courthouse. Sebastian was a nervous wreck, but he didn't know why. The hardest parts were behind him. Michael already knew about Blaine and Elliot, and he was okay with it. He didn't mind stepping up to be a father to this little boy.
At the courthouse, the three males stood before the judge. She looked down at them and smiled. "I see no reason to not to grant Michael Camden with parentship of Elias Smythe."
A shit eating grin split Michael's face in two. He was legally a father. This was everything to him. He turned to Sebastian and kissed the man soundly, before kissing Elias on the forehead. His son. Michael was a father.
They left the courthouse with the adoption papers in hand. Sebastian turned to Michael and smiled. "You're now my baby's daddy."
Michael laughed. "I wouldn't want to be anything else."

Blaine stepped off the elevator onto the floor of his soon-to-be office. It felt like it had been forever since he had been here. Strange looks greeted him as he walked towards his uncle's office.
Tyler was sitting behind his desk with a woman sitting on the opposite side. Blaine didn't bother knocking, he just walked in and glanced at the woman sitting there. "Mother?'
Natasha turned her head and looked at her youngest son. "Are you supposed to be out of the house?" she asked.
Blaine rolled his eyes. "I'm eight weeks post op, I'm fine. I'm so fine in fact, Kurt and I are back to having sex."
His mother turned beet red, turning to face her brother-in-law, whom was also flushed. But for different reasons.
"I know that's a lie. Kurtie can't have sex for two and a half months after having a baby."
Blaine smirked, sitting next to his mother. "Six weeks. We even waited until Alex was seven weeks before we tried anything. Nothing bled on either of us, so we're good."
Natasha shook her head. When did her child become so bold to talk about his sex life in front of her? She looked at her child and sighed. "You still shouldn't be out of the house."
"I needed to come and turn in my desk duty work. All the research you asked me to do, is done. And I was even able to use some of it to study for the bar exam."
Tyler smiled at his nephew. "I knew those case files would come in handy for you. I'm glad you're back to your old self. Once you pass the bar, your office is waiting for you."
Blaine smiled. "I'm looking forward to taking it over."
"That does not mean that you bring Kurt here and fuck all over the place. All the walls are glass so, we'll see and hear everything."
Now it was Blaine's turn to become beet read. "Oh, Ty. Kurtie and I already fucked over this entire building. You're late." And with that, he got up. "Mother." He smiled and walked out.
That was done, now he could go home and finish studying for the bar. He had scheduled to take it the following Friday. Kurt would still be on leave with Alex so he would have his boys to come home to pass or fail.
Blaine arrived home shortly after leaving the firm. He didn't even question why his mother was there. He was sure it had something to do with his bitch of a father.
When he arrived home, there was a car he didn't recognize in his driveway. He parked behind it and went inside.
Sebastian and his boyfriend were sitting on the loveseat with Sebastian's baby, while Kurt and Alex sat on the chair. Blaine raised an eyebrow as he entered the room.
He went over to Kurt and kissed him on the lips before kissing Alex's forehead on his way to sit on the couch. "Hi babe."
Kurt smiled at him. "How'd it go?'
Blaine shrugged. "Of course, Ty gave me those case files to help me."
"Of course. I think he's more excited about you working there than you are."
"Maybe." He turned to their guests. "To what do we owe this pleasure?"
"Sebastian and Michael just stopped by for us to meet Elias. Isn't he just a doll baby?" Kurt gushed.
"He's a cute kid. I heard Elliot gave up his parental rights."
Sebastian sighed softly. "Yeah, he did. He used me just to break us up. Why, I don't know. But at least, that's not what did us in."
Blaine chuckled humorlessly. "No, it was my infidelity that did that."
Kurt glared at his fiancé. "Can we not do this? We're all in a good place now. We don't need to rehash the past."
"I'm just saying. Elliot wanted to break us up but didn't get the satisfaction of doing so. I ruined us by myself because I couldn't leave you alone."
Sebastian stood up abruptly. "Maybe we can do coffee or tea some time Kurt. I should get Elias home. He's had a long day."
"Of course. I go back to work next week, so maybe in between my classes one day we can meet up."
Michael grabbed Elias, putting him in his car seat.
"Sure, that works. I'll text you."
Kurt stood and went and gave him a hug. "I'm sorry he's being an ass."
Sebastian hugged him back, sighing. "It's okay. I think we're both used to me being a sore spot in his life. I just would have thought that after he got you back and I was out of his hair, he wouldn't hate me so much."
Kurt pulled back, putting a hand on the other man's face. "He doesn't hate you. I think its more of him hating how things happened, and you just happen to be the other thing he can project that anger. We'll talk soon though."
Sebastian smiled, grabbing Michael's hand as he was led out of the house.
Kurt turned to look at his fiancé. He shook his head, going upstairs with their son. He didn't even know what to say or what to do. But what he did know, if he spent another second in front of him, he was going to explode.
It had been months since he found out that he wasn't the father to Sebastian's baby. Kurt didn't understand why he was still so bitter about it. He wasn't the father, so he had no responsibility to that child.
"I thought you had a few more weeks off." Blaine called after him.
Kurt didn't answer him. He just continued up the stairs to Alex's room. He placed the baby in the playpen before turning on the baby monitor. He proceeded to go to his studio with the other monitor and closed the door.
Blaine groaned loudly. He got up and followed the sounds of footsteps. Kurt slammed the studio door right as Blaine approached him. He turned the knob but it was locked. "Kurt? Kurt, open the door."
No answer. Kurt didn't have time to deal with his outbursts today. Not at all.
Blaine banged on the door. "Damnit Kurt, open the fucking door."
Kurt stormed to the door and swung it open. "Keep it down before you wake my son up."
Blaine stopped then and glared at his fiancé. "Your son?"
"Yeah, my son. If you want to act like it's my fault you and Sebastian broke up, I can act like you didn't break up. Let's go back to eleven months ago when I found out I was pregnant, alone. When I went back and forth with telling you because I knew it wouldn't work. It's fine. Go back to acting like I mean the world to you, from afar. Because that's when we work the best, isn't it? When you go home to Sebastian but tell me that you love me."
Blaine didn't understand what was happening. What the fuck had gotten into Kurt? "What are you talking about?"
Kurt shook his head. "Don't worry about it. Just know that you'll be on the couch tonight and for a lot more nights."
"You can't kick me out of my own bed."
"I think I just did." He pushed Blaine back and closed the door, locking it.
Blaine stared at the door. What the fuck? This was why he didn't want Sebastian around. He brought the worst out in him and he didn't know why. He went downstairs and called his sister. She was always good at talking to Kurt in the middle of a fight.

Brandy Anderson sighed loudly as she pulled up to her brother's house. She thought once they were older, she wouldn't have to play referee for her brother anymore. She parked her car and went to the door, knocking.
Blaine answered the door, looking like hell. "Thank God you came. He locked himself in his studio. He won't even let me help with Alex. So, they're both in the studio."
Brandy rolled her eyes, walking past her brother. She didn't even bother asking him what happened, because she knew he had fucked up. Again. She walked upstairs and to Kurt's studio, knocking softly.
"Blaine, I swear to God…"
"It's me, the idiot is downstairs." Brandy cut him off.
Kurt opened the door, going back to sit at his desk.
Brandy walked in, closing and locking the door behind her. She took a seat across from him. "Do you wanna tell me what's going on?"
Kurt ran his fingers through Alex's chestnut curls. "Not really."
Brandy nodded, looking around the room. "So, you're just hiding out in your studio with your baby, just cause?"
"It's not just because. Your brother doesn't know how to let shit go. And I'm sick of it."
"What do you mean?"
Kurt sighed softly. "Sebastian and his boyfriend were over with the baby. We're friends now, so I thought it would be nice to try to catch up with him. I know he was going through a custody thing, so I wanted to be there for him. Well, your fucking brother came home and decided to be a fucking asshat. He brought up the fact that the birth father didn't really want to be with Seb. He was only using Seb to break he and Blaine up. We all know that; it's been months since all of that happened. Why are we still talking about it? I'm sick of feeling like I'm still second best to Sebastian. But of course, he doesn't see that."
Brandy rubbed her face. Why couldn't their fights be over something as simple as what color flowers to plant in the front yard? Its always something super deep. She sighed softly, sitting back in her seat. "I actually have no advice for this. At least, not for you. I get your anger. And if I were you, I would feel the same."
"You know I've spent majority of this relationship feeling less than thanks to your dad. Blaine never made me feel like that until Sebastian came into the picture. I wasn't dumb when we were in college. I knew the pecking order. I was always number two, no matter what. Yeah, it was nice when Blaine chose to travel with me and leave Sebastian, but I knew once summer was over, back to number two I went."
Brandy frowned, looking at the pale hand that caressed her nephew. "You do know that Blaine never saw you as number two? You were always number one to him, no matter what."
Kurt sniffled softly, rubbing his face. "That's not true. If it were, he wouldn't have gotten engaged. He wouldn't have even been with Sebastian the way he was. They bought a house together. He was planning on creating a life with that man. But here I was, so stupid to think that he was meant for me."
"He is meant for you. He never said 'yes' to Sebastian when he proposed. It was more of an awkward silence and head moving in what was taken as a nod. Blaine always wanted to be with you. Blair just made it hard for him to do so. Blair was going to take Blaine off of his Will. He wasn't going to allow Blaine to be part of Anderson's and Sons. Yeah, it's shitty, but he didn't want to be so dependent on you when he decided to leave Sebastian."
"It wouldn't have mattered if Blaine had money or not. I'm successful in my own right. I'm the youngest fashion designer in the world right now. I'm getting emails from celebrities left and right to design for them. I have the royal family from England wanting dresses and suits from me. I never needed nor did I want his money. If that's the kind of man he thinks I am, he can take this ring back. I don't want it."
"Okay, that didn't come out right. No, he's not saying you're with him for the money. His whole objective is that he wants to give you everything as easily as possible. If Blair cut him off, it would have taken a lot longer for him to get to where he is now. He didn't want that for you. Especially when he found out you were pregnant."
Kurt sighed softly, looking down at his sleeping son. "I wouldn't have cared. He could have been homeless and I still would have loved him. He knows that. I just wish he would just forget that part of our lives. Yeah, we had great times during that time, something we can remanence about without mentioning Sebastian. Like, we broke up senior year to pursue our own dreams, not knowing we were both going to New York. Some years later, we ran into each other and rekindled our relationship. Each time I had to travel for school in the summer, he went with me. We slowly went back to the way things were."
"That's beautiful Kurt."
Kurt shrugged. "That's how I choose to remember that time. I don't think about Sebastian. To me, Sebastian came into my life the night of the dinner. I didn't have a reason to think about him before then."
Brandy sighed. "I'll go talk to the knuckle head. But you can't lock yourself away from him."
"I can and will as long as he's being an asshat."
Brandy stood and shook her head. "My poor nephew has no chance but to be as stubborn as a bull thanks to you two." She smiled and left the room.
Blaine was pacing at the bottom of the steps as she descended. "What did he say? Is he coming down to talk to me?"
Brandy walked past him and went into the kitchen. "What kind of booze do you guys have? You two drive me to drink."
"Nothing. Neither of us can drink and we have two children in here."
Brandy groaned, opening the refrigerator. "How am I supposed to help if I have to do it sober?" she grabbed the jug of orange juice and glass, pouring her some. "So, here's the deal, dumbass. Don't give me that fucking look, you are too got damn old to be doing this shit. Your fiancé is this close," she held her thumb and index finger less than a millimeter apart. "From leaving your dumb ass. He has given everything he has to you and all you do is bitch about Sebastian. And he's right, you didn't have to be with him. Fuck Blair. Even if he had cut you off, you had an amazing man backing you."
Blaine stepped forward to protest, but Brandy put her hand up.
"Save it. Little boy Blaine is afraid to defy dear old daddy. Well look where you've ended up. He shot you. That's how much he fucking loved you. He was willing to kill you just because you embarrassed him in front of his family-"
"That's not why he shot me. He wanted his spot back in the firm and he wanted Alex."
"Besides the point. You have made that beautiful man feel like complete and utter shit over the last six years. How about you do like him, and block everything with Sebastian out. Yes, he's part of your past, but only use him as an ex. Which is what he is. He's an ex that is no longer a part of your life. If Kurt wants to be his friend, so be it. To him, the first time he encountered Sebastian was the night of the dinner. Use that as a maker. You dated him after high school and the first few years of college but then you ran into Kurt. Is that so fucking hard for you to do?"
"I don't know what he wants from me. He wants to be friends with the man who ruined us but I can't-"
"Stop, stop right there. All you're going to say is that Sebastian fucked you and Kurt up, but that's not true. You and Blair fucked you and Kurt up. Just because you were young and headed to college didn't mean you couldn't have stood up for yourself. I did and look where I am. I wasn't about to be a puppet on his string. You chose to stay. You chose to be a puppet. But lucky for you, Kurt didn't completely disappear. My advice to you, ignore Sebastian. If Kurt wants to hang out with the meerhorse, then let him. Don't be around them. Just don't make them feel like shit."
Blaine sighed loudly, rubbing his face. "I hate that I have to walk on eggshells around Kurt."
"No, you don't. you did the dirt, it's over and done with. I just don't want you to peck and peck at them because they both are still super hormonal and the more you nag, the bigger the chance of postpartum."
"I didn't even think about that. Shit. I'm so fucking dumb."
"Yeah, you are. Dumbass. Can I go back home now? I was kinda in the middle of something."
"With Ryder?"
Brandy downed her glass of orange juice and blushed. "Yes, if you must know. We're trying for a baby."
Blaine gasped at his twin sister. "Seriously?"
Brandy smiled. "Yeah, so now I'm going back home to continue."
Blaine hugged his sister and kissed her cheek. "Well, thank you for coming over. It means a lot."
Brandy nodded, pulling back. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just stop pissing him off before he cuts your ass."
Both twins laughed as they walked to the front door. They said their goodbyes and then Brandy was gone.
What was Blaine going to do to fix this?

Burt and Carole climbed out of their car and stared up at the house. They had been in New York for a few months and thought it was time for them to find a house. It was fun staying with Kurt and Blaine, but they wanted something to call their own. So, they decided to go house hunting on their off day.
Caleb was in daycare so they had a few hours to look at houses. The realtor had promised to find them houses near the daycare but also close to Blaine and Kurt. Not too close to the boys, but close enough.
The house they were looking at now was about ten minutes from the boys, but really close to the daycare and some schools. It was a pretty brownstone, plenty of neighbors. Burt wasn't so keen on that. He was already not on board with this house, but Carole was excited.
They went inside with the realtor but it was nothing that neither of them wanted. Too small on the inside and it was an extreme fixer upper. On to the next house.
The next house was about a five-minute drive from the daycare, in a upscale neighborhood. The houses were far between each other, something Burt was excited about. The neighborhood was kinda as nice as the neighborhood Kurt lived in.
They didn't want to live in a mansion like the boys, but a nice house with at least three bedrooms would be nice. And this house had that. A nice big front yard along with an enclosed backyard. The house itself was gorgeous.
The inside was newly remodeled. High tech appliances in the kitchen that came with the house. New fixtures in all the rooms. A nice hidden room off of the living room could be an office for Burt. Carole was sold when she saw the master bedroom.
The master was big enough to hold a king size bed and a couch, which was something she has always wanted in her bedroom. The master bath had a jacuzzi as well as a walk-in shower. His and her sinks which makes getting ready in the morning a little faster.
The bedroom that would be used for Caleb also came with a bathroom which is helpful. Yes, she wanted this house. She persuaded Burt to saying yes, and now they were headed to the office to sign the papers and get the keys.
They had been talking about staying permanently in New York. It was a closer commute for Burt to get to DC and Carole was really loving her job. Plus, they thought it would be best for Caleb to be around Kurt and Alex now that Finn was gone. It would be hard for them to go back to Ohio knowing that Kurt was in New York by himself with the burden of Finn's death on him.
Kurt has no idea about them staying, but Burt knew his son was going to be over the moon to have his dad. He would get to go see his little brother and dad whenever he wanted, and Burt knew that would mean the most to Kurt.
After getting the keys to the new house, Burt and Carole went back home. Telling Kurt and Blaine that they were moving was going to be huge. Even for Caleb.
They walked into the house to silence. Someone was home, Blaine and Kurt's car were both in the driveway. Carole went into the kitchen and saw the empty glass of orange juice on the counter.
Burt went upstairs and peeked into Alex's room. The infant was fast asleep in his crib. "Where are your parents' little guy?"
That was when he heard the screaming. Burt ran down the hall and burst through the door of Blaine and Kurt's room. What he saw would haunt him for days on end.
Blaine was on top of Kurt, fucking into him like there was no tomorrow. Burt slammed the door closed and promptly went back downstairs. "Found them." He announced.
Carole walked into the foyer with her own glass of orange juice. "Where are the-"
Before she could finish, Kurt was running down the steps in a pair of Blaine's sweatpants and t-shirt. "What are you doing here? You're supposed to be at work." His hair was tussled and his face and what could be seen of his chest, were flushed.
"I told you we were both off today. We were going to explore the city some more."
"The city is out there. Not in my bedroom." Kurt said, a little irritated.
"The better question is why are you and Blaine having sex? He just had major surgery and you just had a baby."
Kurt rolled his eyes, going to sit on the chair in the living room. "Yeah, almost five months ago. I'm going back to work next week. We were…we had a fight and you interrupted our makeup."
Burt and Carole followed him, sitting across from him. "Must have been a pretty big fight, just going off of what I saw."
Kurt blushed brightly. "I mean, yeah. He's still not fully over Sebastian. It just all came to a head today, I guess. But I now get it. He get's it. We're fine now." He looked at his dad. "You could have at least knocked."
"I heard screaming, I thought you were hurt."
"That's when you ask if everything is okay. He's up there afraid to come down to face you now."
"I thought he was passed that the last time I caught you two having sex?"
"That was like eight years ago when we had a reason to be afraid of you."
"Wait until you walk in on Alex having sex with his boyfriend or girlfriend. You're going to freak out too."
Kurt rolled his eyes, rubbing his stomach. Even though Alex was almost five months, he still felt very comfortable rubbing his stomach. "It won't be me flipping my shit. It'll be Blaine. God, he's so over dramatic. And everyone thinks it's me. No, it's him."
"What do you mean?"
Kurt shook his head. "I don't want to get into it." He sat back on the chair and crossed his legs, wincing some. "So, what did you do today?"
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, just a little sore. It's been a while since I've had sex."
"Are you sure you're completely healed? I know it's been over five months, but it takes longer for males to heal from birth."
"I appreciate your concern, but we're fine. We weren't even that far into when Dad burst in. So, I'm sure we're fine. Anyhoo, enough of my non-existing sex life. What did you do today?"
Carole smiled over at her husband and then at her stepson. "We bought a house."
Kurt sat up, staring at his parents. "You did what?"
"We bought a house. And it's not that far from here."
"I thought you were going to go back to Ohio in a few months."
"We were, but Carole loves her job at the hospital, it's a faster commute for me to get to New York. And plus, I really think it will benefit you and Caleb to have us here."
Kurt smiled, trying not to tear up. "You don't know how much that means to me. Especially after Finn. It's great you're going to be around."
Burt and Carole got up and hugged their son.
Kurt's life was finally getting back to where it should be.

Natasha Anderson was a busy woman. Starting up her own catering company after everything with Blair was done, was hard work. Plus, she was trying to start dating again. Dean was a great guy. Very attentive and very understanding when she needed space.
She was very grateful for him during the divorce proceedings. He was always where she wanted, there or not. When she needed space, he didn't crowd her. She was so thankful for him.
And thankful that her children were okay with her trying to date again. Lord knows she was stifling in her marriage with Blair. She was so happy she found a man who was willing to take the time to understand everything about her and still stayed.
That's why she was planning another dinner party. Nothing like last time. She wanted her children, in laws, and grandbabies to get to know Dean.
She was in the middle of prepping for said dinner when her doorbell rang. Natasha put her chicken broccoli casserole into the oven and went to the door. She wasn't expecting anyone until around eight, maybe Blaine decided to come over a little early with the baby.
Natasha opened the door without looking to see who it was. On the other side stood Blair's girlfriend, Natalia.
"How did you find out where I lived?"
Natalia rolled her eyes. "The divorce papers. Duh. May I come in?"
Natasha crossed her arms over her chest, leaning against the doorjamb. "No, you may not."
"I really need to talk to you."
"And I really need you to get off my property. I have no use for you or that man. So, if you'd please." She turned to close the door.
Natalia stuck her body between the jamb and the door. "I'm pregnant."
