Hey everyone! I'm sooooo sorry I've haven't updated in so long. Life has been crazy and schoolwork completely controls my life. But I'm back and hopefully I will have enough time to update at least monthly. Enough about me! On with the story!

I scowled. "I guess you saw that…" Trailed off, somewhat sullenly. Elaina simply stared at me and I fidgeted under her unwavering gaze, uncomfortable with the situation. She stared at me for a few moments that seemed longer than life itself, and, just as I was beginning to believe she wouldn't answer me, she spoke softly.

"Actually, I didn't…" My head shot up and glanced quickly at her before diverting my attention to the scuffed floor under my feet. "In case you had in fact forgotten, I seem to be temporarily blind." She spoke in the same unwavering, soft voice but the unnerving tone of her voice sent shivers down my back. She didn't seem resentful over her predicament, but simply… detached. Her voice once again broke through my thoughts, the colder tone once again shocking me through my typically hard, defensive stature. I shook my head, clearing it from the lingering thought running a muck throughout my head. "Do you have ears or are you just as much deaf as I am blind?" I stiffened bringing my eyes up to size her up looking for signs of agitation and taking into account her offensive caliber.

"I heard you!" I spat at her hotly, "I chose not to reply because-"

"I CAN HEAR YOU EDMUND! DON'T YOU DARE FINISH THAT SENTENCE!" Susan's irritated voice rang through the halls as I flinched; I could hear Elaina giggling behind me, attempting to keep the short laughs from bursting from her big mouth with her tiny, fragile-like hand. I breathed harshly out my nose before turning away from the obnoxious girl and heading towards the training ground. I was sure my face was flushed with anger and I found myself fairly grateful for the fact that Elaina was blind.

Sweat collected on my brow once again, I brought down the man before me. Scowling at the man who fell in the dirt, I offered him my hand.

"Next time try not to end up on the ground." I said, rolling my eyes. "And if you do fall, try to figure out how you can bring your opponent on the same level as you. Kick out their leg, find a way to get back up." The knight chuckled.

"Aye, aye captain!" He replied, mock saluting me. I laughed lightly, a slight smiling making it way onto my face; sparring always brought up my spirits.

"I swear Damien, if you were any other man, you would be in serious trouble for 'disrespecting' your ruler." I shook my head at him, for the first time since that measly brat arrived in Narnia, I did not have anything worrying on my mind.

"Well, I guess that I should be fairly grateful I am not "any other man" then shouldn't I?" He shot back, a cheeky grin on his face. "Anyways, thanks for the lesson "Your Majesty!"" Damien said, in a friendly yet slightly mocking way. "Hey is that a new lady of the court?"

I scowled, recognizing the features of the girl who was fostering the stress within me. "No!" I said sharply, making Damien look at me slightly confused as I glared at the honey-haired girl.

To my surprise, it was as if she had felt my glare because she turned her head my way, frowning slightly as her unseeing eyes seemed to focus on me before she was pulled away by a very eager and energetic Lucy.

"I swear that girl had enough energy to single-handedly pull the sun across the sky." Damien remarked, shaking me out of my stupor. He chuckled to himself before turning at leaving me to my thoughts.

"Come on! We've got to get ready for the picnic!" Lucy screamed in my ear, something I had grow quite used to in the midst of everything happening around me.

It was funny how even though I've been in this place for only a few days, I'm finding myself more comfortable here than anywhere else I've lived. It's become almost routine for me, and sometimes I find myself forgetting what it was like to use my eyes. The rest of my senses have become much more keen on my surrounding and I can almost figure out who is nearby me by simply their footsteps and I can pretty much move within the castle with so much ease, it's like I could actually see. But, by now I've come to terms with the fact that I probably will never regain my eyesight. So, I've tried to better my other senses so that I can make the most of my life here.

It isn't really that bad, living here with the monarchs of Narnia, Lucy is so sweet and loves to talk and gossip, which is really helpful whenever I'm feeling the slightest bit homesick since she is there to cheer me up and distract me from my thoughts. Susan is especially entertaining to talk to because she seems to have the same intellectual mind as I do. Any conversation I have with her is always filled with eager, friendly debates and I always come out of the discussion more open-minded than I was walking in. King Peter is extremely sweet and very helpful, even when I don't really need help at all. And then, there's Edmund.

Honestly, when I first showed up here I thought he was a complete jackass (which I partly still believe to be true), but ever since we've made that pact to be civil, he has been tolerable. I don't aggravate him, he doesn't aggravate me, and while he the ladies in the kingdom call him extremely handsome, with chiseled features and "dark eyes that can see into your soul," (-cue fainting girls), I don't see the appeal. His attitude leaves very little to be admired but he does have that mysterious aura hovering around him that screams "dangerous." Honestly I don't what to think of him, and in instances such as this, the best thing to do is simply ignore him…

"Elaina! Are you even listening to me at all?" Lucy said, already knowing the answer. "Come on, with your daydreaming we only have an hour left to get ready!" she explained, as she dragged me into her room and began pulling casual dresses out of her wardrobe and holding them up to my body wrinkling her nose with distaste at the clash between my skin tone and the color of dress. Finally, she found a dress that she liked and had me put it on before rummaging for a pair of matching flats.

I sat quietly on her bed as she chattered on about how much fun the picnic was going to be and how incredibly nice it was outside.I simply nodded my head and let out a "Yes. I agree..." now and then as my thoughts drifted off.

"-I'm so glad! Should I tell Edmund now or after the picnic. He will be so happy that you agreed to go on a date with him." Lucy chattered excitedly.

"Uhm… That sounds great." I replied absentmindedly, before I processed what she had said. "Wait- what!" I shot up looking in her direction frantically. A date with Edmund! When did this happened?

"Your face!" Lucy giggled, and I scowled at her realizing that she had been joking. "Oh my gosh! The way you reacted! That's what you get for zoning off when I'm talking to you." I pouted at her as she pulled me up and out of the room.

Bonjour Everyone! What do you think? Was it good? bad? What would you like to see happen later in the story? There's a little Review Box down there...
