Chapter 21
"Is Sonic here," Rosy asked as she popped her head in through my open window. I looked at her from my position in my bed to see that she was climbing into my room. Her wide eyes were gleaming with happiness and enthusiasm. It was a huge contrast next to my glum, dull ones. I had lay in bed all night the night before. I didn't move, I didn't cry, I didn't scream, I didn't yell. I just mentally tried to accept reality. Besides, there was no point in getting upset over something that wasn't going to change. Sure, I was heartbroken and everything but I wasn't about to go around throwing temper tantrums. It's not like that would bring him back.
"No," I murmured. I looked to my digital clock to see that it was about 9 in the morning. I was surprised that she was up, dressed and functioning. Usually, I wouldn't see her bouncing around until about noon. "What are you doing, anyway?"
"Scourge wasn't in bed this morning and usually he tells me when he's going out for the day." She perched down onto my bed. "So, I thought maybe Sonic might know where he went. I was surprised when I woke up to an empty house. I mean, they could at least give me some idea of what to expect and when ya know?"
"Wait, so you don't know where they are," I asked. Rosy shook her head. I opened my mouth to speak but I stopped myself as the realization kicked in. I remembered Sonic saying something about having things arranged to keep me safe but I didn't think Rosy would be that person. Hell, I didn't think Scourge could leave her behind – not after how we found her a couple months ago. But, I noticed how naïve and genuinely concerned she looked. Scourge really didn't tell her that he was leaving.
"They'll probably be back by nightfall," Rosy said as she shook her head. "They always are." She shot me a reassuring smile. Her actions made my heart a little heavy. They did always get home before it got dark. Most of the time they brought food back with them which was a plus. Yet, I still couldn't wrap my head around the fact that Rosy seriously didn't know what happened. I would think that Scourge would tell her since she was his mate and they have hundreds of years of history but…
"Rosy," I sighed as I hauled myself to sit up. "I don't think they're coming back."
"What," she replied quickly. "Amy, of course they're coming back. They have to come back." Rosy's eyes took a frantic turn as they began to flick everywhere. "I mean, Scourge would've told me." I reached out to grab her hand.
"I'm sorry," I told her as I squeezed softly. "I thought you knew." She shook her head slowly, her wide eyes suddenly losing whatever joyful emotion was in them. She looked lost, confused, and hurt. I wanted nothing more but to wrap my arms and hug her. I knew that it probably wouldn't help but I didn't want her to feel as broken and alone as I do. I wanted her to be okay.
"It's typical," Rosy said with a soft shrug of her shoulder. She looked up at me, a glimmer of a tear forming in her eyes. "That's what boys always do right? They butter you up and make everything seem like its going to last. They woe you and they act like they love you and then," she snapped her finger, "just like that they're gone. I guess I should be used to it by now." She tilted her head at me. "How are you holding up with all of this?"
"I honestly don't know," I murmured. "Is it normal to feel like this? So empty and alone and hurt and lost and…upset."
"Sadly, yes. That is very normal." She scooted closer to me so that she could embrace me into a soft hug. "But it gets better over time. I can only promise you that."
I wish I had known exactly how much time would pass until I felt better. Every day after that dragged on as I tried to keep myself from drowning in my heartbreaking misery. I kept up with my student council meetings, I joined the tutor center, and I even got a part time job. I did every possible thing I could so that I would only have enough free time to do my homework and sleep. I didn't want my mind to drift to Sonic. Not when my heart was still so tender from the wound. Spring eventually came around but I wasn't too happy about it this year. Usually, I loved the spring time. I loved to watch the flowers bloom and the trees regain their healthy green color. Spring had always reminded me of a new start and brought me hope. It also used to excite me with thoughts of the Spring Fling and the other formal school dances. This spring, though, I only felt empty. It had been a long while since Sonic left but the hole in my heart still hadn't healed. I really loved Sonic – more than I thought that I did. No one could replace him and nothing could replace the way he made me feel.
I could tell that Rosy was hurting from Scourge's absence as well. Whatever turmoil their relationship had been through, it didn't change the way she felt about him. A part of me thought that it was a bit romantic: the way they loved each other unconditionally. Another part of me just felt bad for the poor girl. She practically worked herself to the bone as she worked through her full-time community college classes and part-time job. A lot of people thought that she was just a hardworking girl with big dreams and the determination to help her go places. I saw through that act though. Rosy could go anywhere she wanted. She didn't have to stay here. Instead, I think she only stayed because the town reminded her of someplace she could call home. Someplace that reminded her of Scourge a bit. I also think that she was silently hoping for him to come back here as if he'd realized that he'd forgotten to take her with him. I knew that she would have gone with them if she was posed with the question. I probably would have done the same if Sonic had asked me to run away with him.
Trying not to think about the boys got harder when Bane and his gang of vampires did actually end up coming into town. I didn't realize their presence at first. I only noticed that something was bothering Rosy. I didn't actually see Bane until I was walking home from school and I saw him talking to some guys on the street. After that, I started piecing everything together. Rosy hadn't wanted to go out and when she did, we would only go to certain areas. Now, it was clear that she was just avoiding her old flame. We kept up the charade for a while until one day, we ended up running into him at the mall.
He was with a small, blonde teen and my old friend who I'd seen him with back when we were leaving the hotel. Rosy and I didn't notice them at first. For once, we were actually having fun as we browsed around Forever 21 and acted as if we were fashionistas. It was a real bummer when Bane called out to Rosy and caught her attention. She turned around, her eyes scanning around for the source of the call. When she found it, her eyes widened. The boys were approaching us, Bane smirking slyly at Rosy while the other two followed behind quietly. Immediately, I felt the need to hide behind Sonic and squeeze his hand like I used to when things like this would happen. I did, actually, move automatically but Sonic wasn't there. In my mind, he had been though. I imagined him looking down at me and giving me a look of reassurance with a protective smile in his beautiful eyes. Damn, now I missed him even more.
"Rosy, long time, no see," Bane said as he stuffed his hands into his pockets. Rosy nodded, her eyes looking down to her shoes. "How have you been?"
"I've alive," she said as she looked back up at him with a fake smile on her face. "If that doesn't say something then I'm not sure what does."
"Where's your boyfriend," he asked. "I've heard rumors that he left you here unprotected. Stupid move, don't you think?"
"Well, technically the only threat around here is you and I'm pretty sure that I can kick your ass on my own." Bane chuckled softly.
"I guess we'll see, now won't we." He glanced at me, his blue eyes losing their playful fill. "I was wondering if we could talk…alone."
"Anything you can say to me, you can say in front of her," Rosy replied as she crossed her arms in front of her chest. Bane sighed, glancing at me again.
"It's about the war. Apparently, there are a lot of battles going on in Europe between the vampires and the werewolves. There hasn't been as much here in America but they're starting to get closer to this area. I thought that I should let you know so that you can be on your toes. These creatures are starting to get ruthless and you know how they feel about your kind. They'll kill you without a second thought. So, I'm asking if I can help to protect you since your idiot of a boyfriend failed to do that. I can have my clan circle around both your neighborhood and hers," he nodded towards me. "The werewolves somehow found out about your friend and they want her on their side since she's like my friend over her." Bane nodded in my old friend's direction. He met my eyes for a moment before looking down to his shoes. "We're not here to start trouble," Bane promised. "We just want to help."
"Why," Rosy asked sharply.
"Because I care about you," Bane said sincerely. "And I don't want to let anything happen to you." Rosy tilted her head at Bane, her eyes still skeptical of his words. "I'll give you time to think over our offer but just know that it's already in motion. Keep in mind that you're safe."
"Thank you," Rosy murmured lowly. Bane nodded, sending her a soft smile. He then turned and began to walk off. His two followers repeated his action and there were gone before we knew it. "Let me know if they try anything," Rosy said, her voice hard. "I don't trust him and he knows that I don't."
"What do you think their motive is if it's not to protect us?" Rosy looked to me and her eyes softened.
"I think they're lying about the werewolves wanting you. I think Bane wants you, it'll help make his clan stronger than it already is. Just be careful alright?" I nodded and Rosy smiled. She grabbed my hand and gave it a squeeze. "Everything will be okay. I promise."

Knock Knock Knock
The noise echoed through my empty house causing me to look up from the book I was reading. I was sitting in the living room, curled up with a book and a hot cup of tea. It was Friday night which meant that my relatives were out and I was left home. I could have gone out with them but I just wasn't really in the mood for it. I just wanted to forget about everything and dive into a fictional world where I only had to worry about the characters' problems and what not. I got up slowly, looking curiously at the door. Cautiously, I walked up to the door and opened it. Standing there was my old friend with a blank look on his face. When my face appeared from around the door, a big smile came across his face. "Hey Amy," he said happily.
"Hi…Jet," I said. "What are you doing here?"
"Oh, I was patrolling your house and I thought that I could stop by and say hi. I was thinking that we could catch up or something. I haven't seen you in years."
"Jet…no offense but I don't think I feel comfortable letting you into my house." He nodded, his smile starting to fall.
"I understand. There's a lot going on. You have no reason to trust me."
"It's not that I don't trust you," I said quickly. "I just… I don't know if I want to be alone or not."
"Do you wanna talk about it?" I looked down but nodded sheepishly. I opened the door wider to make room for him.
"Come on in," I said. Jet quickly took the invitation and came into my house. He followed me into the living room where I plopped myself back down onto the couch. Jet sat down next to me, his blue eyes watching me cautiously. I crossed my legs Indian style under me to get comfortable. "How's life," I asked him. Jet seemed surprised at my lighthearted question but let a small smile creep up his face.
"It's…different. Being a vampire isn't too bad, I guess. Bain and his clan are really nice to me. They're not as bad as the like to seem."
"That's nice," I said giving him a soft smile. "I'm happy that you're happy." Jet nodded, looking down as his fingers twisted around each other absentmindedly.
"I can see that you're not very happy," he said lowly. "Your boyfriend…he was a hybrid…he left, right?"
"Yea. He left," I said, the reminder hurting my heart a bit. "I don't know where he went. I don't know how he is. I don't know if he's even still alive if we're being honest here."
"He's alive," Jet said quickly. "The only reason Bain made us come down here was because we saw them traveling through the town without you and your friend. Of course, Bain and the green haired brother argued but I managed to have a civil conversation with your boyfriend. I don't think they were planning to fight in any of the battles. He said that they were just trying to get to somewhere safe until things settled down. Then they were going to go back."
"So they're planning to come back," I asked as my heart began to beat with excitement.
"I think so or at least that's what I deciphered from what he said. He was being kind of cryptic about it so I'm not really sure."
"How long ago did you talk to him?"
"A while ago," Jet said. "So, I'm not sure how much credibility our talk has anymore."
"That doesn't matter. Just as long as he was alright." Jet smiled softly at me.
"You really love him, don't you?" I nodded. "That's sweet." Suddenly, I heard a harsh knock at the door. I was surprised when Jet jumped up in front of me, his fangs bared towards the door.
"What's wrong," I asked him.
"Don't open the door," he growled. "Come on. Come with me," he said as he grabbed my hand. He began to tug me towards the back of the house but suddenly the door flew into the steps. I screamed as Jet picked me up and darted towards the doorway leading to the kitchen. We barely made it to the door before I heard a loud gunshot. Jet froze for a moment before he fell to the ground on top of me. I looked up to his face to see that a wooden stake was coming out between his eyes. I silently swore as I closed my eyes to hold back tears. The footsteps made their way up to me causing me to begin to shiver in fear. I hide my face with my hair and muffled back a scream as I felt Jet's body be kicked off of me. I didn't dare to open my eyes to see who the attacker was. Instead, I rolled onto my stomach, curling up into a ball. My attacker hesitated for a moment before I felt body warmth come up beside me. A piece of cloth came up around my head, covering my eyes. The person tied it tight around my head before going on to turn me over and put tape onto my mouth. They continued to tie my wrists and ankles up as well before they picked me up. It was then that I figured that it was a guy from the broad chest that I was pressed up against. He walked out my house into the warm air. I felt myself be thrown into the backseat of a car. I tried to sit up but then I felt a needle going into my arm. Within seconds, I could feel my consciousness slipping away from me and I was covered into darkness.
X
"Mmm," I mumbled as I slowly regained consciousness. I could feel something soft under my body – a bed maybe as well a blanket covering me. I wasn't tied up anymore which was a good thing. I could smell the soft scent of tea in the distance and I felt a bit more comfort. Maybe I had been saved from whoever kidnapped me. Or maybe the person kidnapping me didn't have intentions to do me harm. Slowly, I let my eyes flutter open to see that a big white ceiling. The sun was reflecting off the bright color so it hurt my eyes a bit. I quickly looked away to see Rosy lying in a bed across the room from me. There was a bandage wrapped around her head and a couple of bruises covering her body. "Rosy," I said softly as I got out of the bed and hurried over to her. My friend seemed to be sleeping peacefully, her breathing steady and her eyelids fluttering as she dreamed. "Rosy," I murmured as I began to shake her lightly.
"No," she murmured. "No don't hurt him. Please don't hurt him."
"Rosy, wake up. Please wake up."
"Hmm," she groaned as her eyes began to flutter open. She looked up at me before her eyes widened. She shot up in the bed and looked around frantically. "Where the hell are we," she asked quickly. "I was talking to Bain in my house and we got attacked and someone tried to kill him and they drugged me and – oh my God, Amy are you alright?"
"I'm fine," I told her. I got into the bed with her and wrapped my arms around her shaking body. "Are you alright? Your head…"
"It hurts but I'm not going to dwell on it. We need to get out of here." She looked towards the window. "Come on," she said before hopping out the bed. She ran to the window but her eyes widened even more at whatever landscape she saw before her. "What the hell," she murmured. I got out the bed to join her. My jaw dropped at the beautiful landscape before us. There was a large field filled with flowers that went downhill to a small, slightly urban center of other houses. But these houses looked…different in a way. They were all brown and big and stood gracefully. I looked towards the huge trees that led into a wood near the other edge of the field. Where the hell were we?
Rosy and I both turned when we heard the door behind us open. Standing there, holding a tray with a huge tea pot, small tea cups and other small bowls was a beautiful woman. She was a tall, curvy woman with light caramel skin and long blue hair that fell down her back like a waterfall. Her eyes were uniquely shaped in which they were wide but slanted slightly at the ends and her irises were a light green. Her red lips were naturally plump and they were pulled up into a soft smile at the sight of us. "Glad to see that you two are finally awake," she said. Her voice harbored a strong Indian accent but came through very gently and sweet. "I made you girls some tea."
"Are we dead," Rosy asked suddenly. The woman laughed softly at Rosy, the sound like a soothing melody.
"No, sweetheart, you're as alive as can be. Or somewhat, I should say."
"Who are you," I asked. Although I had a feeling I knew, I wanted to hear it from her mouth so that I knew that I wasn't dreaming.
"My name is Ami Sihi," she said with a soft smile. She set down the tray on a small table at the end of the bed I was laying on. I noticed that she was wearing a purple sundress that fitted her curves but waved out to express her long, graceful legs. "You are Amelia," she said as she pointed one of her long, beautiful fingers at me. "And you are Rosalinda."
"How do you know our names?" Rosy asked, her eyes practically bulging out of her head. I could tell that she was scared but I had a feeling that this woman wasn't going to hurt us. Wherever we were was not for torture or confinement. We were going to be safe here.
"How could I not know the names of the wonderful young girls who have taken my sons' hearts?"
"Sons," Rosy squeaked. "But…their mother…she's dead."
"Yes, that's what the world thinks," Ami said with a mischievous smile. "Sadly that's what our sons thought as well for a while. I don't think that they're taking our wellness too lightly though judging by how unmannerly they brought the two of you here." She tilted her head at us. "Are you girls alright? You look as if you've seen a ghost."
"Not to be rude, Ms. Ami, but to us, you sort of are a ghost," I said softly. Ami nodded in understanding.
"I see," she said as she folded her hands together. "How about you two clean up and get changed and we can discuss everything over some tea, hm?"
"Okay," I said as I grabbed Rosy's hand. I tugged her into the bathroom that I noticed was connected to the room. I shut the door behind us to see that Rosy looked as if she was about to pass out. "Are you okay," I asked her.
"I'm not sure. We just met our boyfriends' dead mother. I think we're losing our minds or we're dead and ended up in supernatural heaven or something." She ran a hand through her hair. "If they brought us here then why did he try to kill Bain? Did Sonic hurt you?"
"No but he killed my friend. Obviously, they aren't too happy with who we decided to hang around after they left." Rosy shook her head.
"Men," she muttered bitterly. "I guess we should get cleaned up, huh?" I nodded. I let her take a shower first before I took one and dressed into the pink sundress that Ami had prepared for me. Rosy was dressed in a black sundress that was strapless and hugged her torso before flowing out at the bottom. Mine was a halter top that hugged my chest and stomach and went frilly at the skirt. I had to admit that the outfits were cute and fit both of our personal styles. I helped Rosy take the bandage off of her head and helped her with her hair. She helped me with mine as well so we didn't look a mess. When we were finally done, we walked out of the bathroom. Ami was sitting on one of the beds, humming softly as she stared out the window.
"Ah, don't you two look beautiful," she said as she looked towards us. She got up and began to walk towards the door. "Come, come, let's get some food into you guys systems. I'm sure the two of you must be starving." Wow, I hadn't even thought about my rumbling stomach. I had been too worried about Rosy and where we were and meeting my boyfriend's dead mother for the first time. But, now that I thought about it, I was pretty hungry. Rosy grabbed my hand before starting to follow Ami out of the room. I noticed that the house was pretty large and decorated with both Indian and Spanish culture things. I wish I could name what things were but I wasn't exactly sure. All I knew was that it looked good together and I could feel the homey atmosphere around. The house seemed to only be occupied by us girls at the moment. I guess that was a good thing though. I wasn't sure how I was going to react when I saw Sonic. I had no idea if I was upset that he killed my friend and left in the first place or if I was happy that he came back to bring me here so that we could be together.
We entered in a big kitchen where there were warm yellow walls, beautiful decorations of flowers and the sweet scent of food. Ami had us sit down at the table in the blue painted dining room while she got the food together. She entered first with the tea in which she poured Rosy and I a cup. Rosy gave me an unsure look but began to put the sugar cubes and cream in hers. I did the same and took of a sip. The tea was very sweet but very good. It tasted of cinnamon and something else that I couldn't name. Either way, I was enjoying it. Ami came back in to place some type of pasta in front of us. Neither Rosy nor I asked what it was; we just scarfed it down our throats. It was absolutely amazing though, I would give the dish that.
"Do you mind telling us where we are," Rosy asked as Ami led us to the living room. This room was painted a deep gold with brown furniture, a big screen TV, a coffee table and various pictures of young Sonic and Scourge on the shelves.
"Somewhere in India," she said simply as she took a seat in one of the big chairs. Rosy and I sat on the couch together, staying close just in case. "Miguel tells me that you always wanted to come here, Rosalinda," she said as she sent a soft smile to my doppelganger. Rosy blushed softly.
"Yes…I have…" Ami looked between us as she smiled warmly.
"Come now, girls, there is no reason to be afraid. I mean you no harm. We are all family here."
"Sorry," we both said in unison.
"It's quite alright. I understand that the both of you have been through a lot in your lives. My boys have told me all about both of you. You are strong women. I am proud that you both have managed to find my sons. It's uncanny how much you look alike though."
"Yea, we're still unsure of why that is," I said.
"Hmm, it is interesting." Suddenly, the front door opened and I could hear faint voices in the hallway. My heart began to beat rapidly as I waited for the boys to come into our sight.
"Ami," I heard an unfamiliar, deep voice yell. The sound reminded of me of Scourge's voice but a bit sharper and harder. Also the Spanish accent was strong and laced into the deep voice perfectly.
"We're in here," Ami said softly. I could see her eyes begin to glow with excitement as her smile grew even more. Footsteps made their way up the hallway to the doorway. The first man to appear was unfamiliar to me although he was the exact splitting image of Scourge. He looked exactly like his son with their almond shaped ice blue eyes, sharp jaw, deeply tanned skin, muscular build and green hair. He was more intimidating though. He was very tall and his eyes were naturally intense. He looked to Rosy and I and I swore we both flinched. "Girls, this is my husband, Mateo."
"Hi," Rosy and I said weakly. We both forced smiles but it was kind of hard to not look afraid. The dude was just staring at us. His ice blue eyes were examining us intently, his head tilting slightly. Finally, a small smile came across his lips and he looked somewhat friendly.
"Hola chicas," he said softly. Mateo was dressed in a fitted tee shirt with a jacket thrown over top of it, black jeans and black boots. I could tell that he and the boys had went somewhere in the woods from the stains on his clothes. He crossed the room to approach Ami who was smiling softly at him, adoration in her eyes. "When did they wake up," he asked her.
"About an hour or so ago. The poor things were scared to death," she replied. As she stood up to face her husband, I noticed how tiny and fragile she looked before him. I also recalled what Sonic had said about them being complete opposites in terms of personality. His father was very intimidating while his mother was so gentle and serene. They made a beautiful couple though. Mateo sat down in the chair and pulled Ami down into his lap. The woman immediately curled into him, her face softening even more. I noticed that Mateo was staring towards the doorway, slightly raising his eyebrow. I looked over to see Sonic and Scourge standing in the doorway, dressed in clothing similar to their father. Now that I'd seen their father, it was kind of cute how much they looked like him – Scourge especially. While Sonic did look like his father, he just held more of his mother's features was all.
They boys seemed to be trying to avoid Rosy and I's gazes, their eyes glued to anywhere but us. I glanced at Rosy to see she was staring at Scourge, waiting for him to say something. "A simple 'come with us' would have sufficed," she told the brothers causing them to look to us.
"Rosy," Scourge started. She shook her head.
"Who even said that we wanted to come here? Who said that we weren't happy right where we were? We didn't ask for you two to swoop and act like you were saving us," Rosy yelled at him. Mateo smirked at her actions.
"I like her," he told Scourge. "Seems like she keeps you in check." His son rolled his eyes at him.
"Come on, Rosy. Let's all talk upstairs, alright?"
"What if we don't want to talk to either of you? You did abandon us if you don't remember."
"We know," Scourge said lowly. "Just come on, both of you."
"Don't want us to hear your relationship drama," Ami teased her sons with a soft smile.
"Nope," Scourge said. I grabbed Rosy's hand and helped her up from her seat. We reluctantly followed the boys up the spiral stairs and into what appeared to be one of their bedrooms. I would assume that it was Scourge's from the abundance of papers and notebooks everywhere. I tried to keep my distance away from Sonic as they shuffled us into the room. Rosy led me to sit down on the bed, her hand tightening its grip on mine. "Now, do you two promise to behave?"
"Scourge, cut the bullshit and tell us why you decided to bring us here," Rosy snapped at him.
"Because it's safe here," he said simply. "There's no hunters, no other supernatural beings, and no danger whatsoever. We first left because we were trying to find a safe haven that we'd later bring the two of you to. But, as you can see, we stumbled upon our not-so-dead parents and they let us stay here. We wanted to make sure it was really safe before we went back for you guys. But then we saw you two with those stupid vampires and we kind of flipped out."
"That's an understatement," Rosy said under her breath.
"Look, all that matters is that we came back and brought you guys here so that we all can be happy. Isn't that what the two of you wanted? Are you not satisfied now that we can all finally be happy?"
"You didn't have to disappear like that," Rosy said softly, her voice being to reveal the hurt that she had been hiding. Scourge sighed before looking to Sonic, his eyes asking for some privacy. Sonic nodded and came towards me. I got up from the bed and put my hands up in front of me so that he wouldn't come any closer. He got the idea and turned and began to walk out the room. I followed him out, closing the door behind me. Sonic led me down the hall to what I supposed was his room. This room was similar to Scourge's except instead of papers, there were books everywhere. I also happened to notice some of the pictures we had taken together were lining his dressers.
"You could have told me," I murmured. "That you were planning on coming back." I didn't face him as I said this. Instead I kept my body turned towards his dressers, my eyes scanning the pictures.
"I couldn't," he said softly. I felt his hands lightly place themselves on my shoulders in which I turned around and stepped away from him.
"Why not," I snapped without meaning to. "Do you know how much better I would have had with the hope of knowing that we would be together? Do you not understand how broken I was when you left?"
"Ames, I wanted to tell you. I did but I didn't want to have you waiting for me and I never came back. It wasn't easy for me and Scourge out there. We had to constantly defend ourselves and sometimes I didn't know if I was going to make it through. The only reason we're alive is because our father saved us and that was only by chance. He so happened to be in the same woods where we were being attacked and he helped us. If it weren't for him then we would be dead right now. Think about that, Amy. Think about how you would've felt if I died and you waited your entire life for me. Imagine how you hurt you would feel if you knew I died when I promised you that I would come back. It was so much easier to leave than to hurt you in that way." His hands slowly grabbed my waist to pull me close to him. His light green eyes bored into mine with sincerity as he spoke again. "I am so sorry, Amy. I never wanted to hurt you and you know that. Just let me make it up to you. Please, let me make things better." I felt a lone tear fall down my face. I looked down.
"Sonic, I'm happy that you came back for me. I am but I'm still hurting and-"
"You need time," he said softly. "I understand. Just…just let me try to make it better. Please." I looked up into his sincere eyes before nodding. He immediately wrapped me into a tight embrace and I could feel his warmth bringing joy back to my heart. I never wanted him to let me go. I just wanted to stand there and let him hold me forever. "We can start slow again, okay," he murmured into my hair. "We can try to be normal."
"No," I said. "No more trying to be normal. You're not normal and I don't want to try to make you into something that you're not. Let's just be us, okay?"
"Okay," he said. He guided me to the bed and lay down with me. His light green eyes stared down at me softly as he stroked my hair and face. I curled up against his pillow, taking in his scent that radiated off of it. I could hear Rosy and Scourge arguing from down the hall due to our sweet silence. I enjoyed the noise a bit though. That's just how their relationship worked. They argued to get out their feelings while Sonic and I just talked. We may have been opposites but it worked for us. "What are you thinking about," Sonic asked.
"About how happy I am that we're going to be okay," I told him with a soft smile. He smiled back before starting to lean down towards me. Our lips brushed lightly before he pressed his lips down onto mine. Immediately, I felt myself melting into him. His lips made my stomach erupt into butterflies as they moved against mine. I wrapped my arm around his neck, tangling my hand into his hair. He hummed into my mouth as I tugged lightly. His tongue lightly flicked at my lips, asking for permission. I granted it as I sighed into his mouth and pushed him over so that I could be on top of him. His hands tangled in my hair as we kissed hungrily, passionately, as if we couldn't get enough of each other. I prayed silently as we kissed that he would never ever leave me again. I prayed that we would be able to stay in this bliss forever. But in the back of my mind I knew that supernatural life could never stay peaceful for too long.
Sorry for not updating in a while, school is kicking my butt - literally. Now, I've got a college decision dilemma of where I wanna go and what I'm going to major in because I want to be a teacher but my SATs aren't high enough for the one school so I might go into book publishing with an English major or something. I don't know. Life does that to you. Dream school or school you can be a teacher in? That's my dilemma haha. Anyways, sorry if the beginning of the chap was a bit choppy, I wrote that part a while ago and just added in the rest today. This chapter didn't go as planned but I hope you guys enjoy. Also HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!
