"Anyone have plans tomorrow?" asked Athena when all her goddess girl friends were at their regular table.

"Yup. Me and Apollo have to do all day archery practice for Sunday's archery competition," replied Artemis. Her BFFs knew this because she had mentioned it all week.

"Me too. I'm going down to Thebes to celebrate my Lonely Hearts Club craze," replied Aphrodite. She pushed a lock of hair behind her ear, unaware that almost every single boy was watching her. "They've made a thing out of it!"

"So do I. Lynx is coming to the Underworld to live and Hestia, Hades, and I are doing a celebration to welcome him. After all, Hestia and Lynx are crushing and Hestia wants Lynx to feel welcome," replied Persephone. No one noticed that Athena's face downcasted every time one of her friends said they were busy. She asked because tomorrow was her birthday!

"Oh, uh, no problem. I thought we could just, you know, hang out together tomorrow, but I just realized that I had plans too with my, uh, dad and, um, Hera, so no biggie. Not much big of a deal," replied Athena, her voice on the verge on breaking. She felt like crying, but what goddess cries over something as little as a forgotten birthday! Not the goddess of wisdom, that's for sure! Still…

Athena looked over her shoulder and saw Heracles. He felt her gaze and turned around, and waved. She, of course, waved back and turned back to face the other girls. She stood up abruptly and left as if nothing was bothering her. But there was! She felt her eyes stinging, as if they needed to cry. She ran to her dorm and flopped on her bed, staring at the ceiling. She didn't need to go to class; Ms. Nemesis was dismissed and gave the class a day-off. She dozed off. 1 hour….2 hours….4 hours….8 hours…..
