Hey everybody I'm here to finish this story, but I've considered it and I think I want to do a sequel. Though everybody may say that sequels aren't nearly as good as the first book/story, I'm going to try my best. But, I still want all of your comments and reviews to help me with the sequel along the way. But, for now, here is the epilogue!
All of Cair Paravel was rejoicing for the return of King Edmund the Just. High King Peter decided that a feast would be thrown immediately. Edmund return affected him the most. Now he and his brother Edmund were looking at all the stars and constellations on the balcony outside of Edmund room.
"Peter is everything alright? Something seems to be troubling you." Edmund said.
"Yes I'm fine Edmund. Though I should be asking if you're alright because of what happened." Peter answered.
"Peter that's all in the past, and I'm perfectly fine."
"I can see that Edmund, but I'm still afraid to lose you."
"Peter believe me when I tell you that I'll surely be more cautious, but this incident can't stop me from being a King of Narnia. I trust full well in Aslan that he will take care of me."
Peter stopped for a moment to consider what Edmund had said. It just seemed so weird how you can still trust in somebody even after all of the troubles that you've gone through. But, Edmund stopped him and tapped Peter on his shoulder.
"Come on Peter, it's going to be no good if we're not all there at our own celebration." Edmund said.
Peter looked over Edmund's shoulder to see that Lucy and Susan had come through Edmund's bedroom door. He gave all of them a smile and walked away from the balcony.
It was the middle of the night and everyone had retired to their rooms for the evening. Tomorrow would be a busy day since all four of the siblings had been gone for so long. But, there was a tense feeling in the night air. Peter had doubled the security outside of Edmund's room. There was still a nervous feeling that rested deep inside of Peter. Everything was quiet, when suddenly, a scream came from Edmund's room.
"NO!... LEAVE ME ALONE!... HELP ME!" Edmund cried out in his sleep.
Peter was the first one to be at Edmund's side. At first he thought Edmund was just having a nightmare. But, when he burst into the room he gasped at what he saw. Edmund was still in a deep sleep, but his sheets began to turn a scarlet red with blood.
"Edmund, wake up, answer me!" Peter shouted as he tried to jostle Edmund awake.
"Peter?... Ahhhh!" Edmund yelled as he woke up.
To Peter's relief, Edmund had finally woken up. But Edmund's condition quickly became his worst nightmare. Peter lifted up the sheets only to find that Edmund had three deep cuts across his abdomen.
"Edmund, Ed you have to stay awake tell me what happened. Who did this to you?"
"Jadis… torture me… in my… dream." Edmund began to say, but he was slowly losing consciousness from blood loss!
"Someone go get Lucy and a medic, King Edmund is losing a lot of blood!" Peter yelled as he put his hand over Edmund's wound to try to help the blood to not ooze out.
Peter still couldn't believe what Edmund had told him. How could Jadis possibly have attacked Edmund in his dream? She had been defeated twice, and she was dead. Unless… Peter lifted Edmund's shirt only to find that the black lines had once again appeared over Edmund's heart.
"No. How could this have happened?" Peter almost whispered as he had begun to feel numb. He didn't even realize that his sisters had come in and were trying to cure Edmund.
Well, I know that you're all going to hate me, seeing that I've put yet another cliffhanger at the end of the story. But, in my defense, I think it's okay to give the ending a little bit of a twist; especially since I'm writing a sequel! To me the ending of the story can be the hardest to write since you want to make it good, but not so good that it's hard to continue the storyline. Anyway, I'm so excited to be continuing this storyline! However, I'm going to have to take a little break from posting, so I can brainstorm a good start to the next story. But, you guys can feel free to read this one, and you can send me a message or review for your opinions on how it should start. Thank so much guys and I hope to see you soon!
