Chapter 13

"Emily can we talk?" The blonde asked.

"No Alison. We can't talk. I am done with you. We are done. Now please leave." Emily said. Alison wiped a tear away from her eyes and walked over to Emily's bed and sat down in the chair.

"Emily I'm sorry. I get jealous and I overact a lot. But...thats only because I have a bigger chance of losing you, than you have of losing me." Alison said honestly.

"Ali...You're apology means nothing to me. We are done. Leave me alone." She said quietly. Alison got up from the chair and headed to the door. She turned back to Emily.

"Is this what you want? Because when I'm gone, I'm really gone." Alison said with tears coming out of her eyes.

"Then I guess you should get going." Emily said seriously. Alison nodded and left the room sniffling and in tears.

Cece came in with a sandwich. "Sorry Em, I would have brought you one, but you aren't supposed to eat anything before your surgery." Cece said as she took a bite out of the BLT.

"Its fine." Emily said quietly.

"I know why you dumped her." Cece said as she looked at the brunette. Emily stayed silent. "You didn't break up with her because you don't forgive her. Because I know that you do forgive her. You forgave her when she walked into the door." Cece said, taking a sip of Emily's lukewarm water. "You broke up with her because you're afraid. You felt yourself getting attached, and you are running for the hills because you're afraid to get hurt again." Cece explained knowingly.

"This is exactly why we are best friends." Emily said with a half smile.

"You should stop letting things like this control you. You only live once, so why not live the best one you can?" Cece questioned.

"I'm a coward Cece. I'm scared of love, I'm scared that one day I'll just be incapable of doing it. Or Alison is gonna hurt me like Addison did." Emily said quietly.

"Emily, stop being afraid of what could go wrong. And start thinking positively about what could go right." Cece said. Emily nodded.

The doctor came in. "I'm sorry Emily, but we're going to have to reschedule you're surgery for two weeks from now. The E.R is going to be packed all of this week. We're going to put a cast on your leg." Dr. Robbins said. Emily nodded.

"Remember what I said." Cece said before walking about of the room.

"Okay, lets do it then." Emily said. The doctor nodded.

"Mom, did you really have to do that to Emily?" Spencer asked.

"Yes I did. That kid is out of control. Everyone in Rosewood know's too. She's been receiving pity ever since her parents' death. I'm not going to give her pity. I'm going to give her the slap of reality she needs." Veronica said. "Emily is going to thank me later."

"But mom…"

"No buts Spencer. This is how it's going to be." Veronica said.

"If you're so hell bent on making sure Emily does better with her life, why are you spoiling her with a freaking Corvette?!" Spencer yelled.

"Sometimes kids need a little push. Emily may be hard on the surface right now, but once she comes home with us, and gets in that car, and see's her room...She'll know we actually want the best for her." Veronica explained. "Whats her favorite foods?" She asked.

"Biscuits, Lasagna, pie, and beer." Spencer explained.

"I'll give Melissa a ring and let her know what to make for Dinner...And too get some orange juice instead of alcoholic beverages." Spencer nodded. This was going to be very interesting.

Four Hours Later…

"Do you like the food Emily?" Melissa asked. The Hastings' were all watching the girl eat instead of eating their own food. It was the first bite she had taken. It was actually really tasty. The Lasagna was on point.

"Its really really good." Emily admitted. Everyone smiled.

"So Emily, do you play any sports?" Peter asked.

"No." Emily said as she took a sip of her juice. "In freshman year I was on the hockey team, but I guess you're supposed to put the puck in the goal instead of your opponents and teammates." Emily shrugged.

Peter laughed. "So you like hockey?" He asked.

"Yeah, I love it." Emily said.

"Who's you're favorite team?" He questioned.

"Flyer's and the Sharks." Emily said.

"Wow, I like you already." Peter said. Everyone laughed. "Spencer never watches hockey." He said as he sipped his wine.

"You know Emily, you look a lot like Naya Rivera." Melissa said.

"Oh thanks Melissa. I get that a lot. Its an honor really, she can sing and she's incredibly beautiful like yourself." Emily flirted, inadvertently. Melissa blushed.

"You really are a charmer." Melissa said. Spencer looked annoyed. Great, she was already the least favorite person in the house and Emily had been here for literally one hour.

"What's your GPA?" Spencer asked, trying to get her parents to realize Emily wasn't perfect.

"Its not the best GPA in the world. Its a 2.9. But after I turn in my paper for English class it should shoot up." Emily said.

"Thats wonderful Emily. So tell me about your friends." Veronica said. Emily took a bite of her biscuit.

"Well, we've all been friends since we were really little. And after...after all of our Parents died, they were going to put in the system. We refused to do that. We saved up money and built that loft in the woods with our own money and decorated it and we all live there. Except for Jake...he still lives in his house." Emily said.

"That shows commitment." Melissa said.

"Is it true that you are dating Alison Dilaurentis?" Peter asked.

"Umm no. Not anymore." Emily said.

"Do you want to go check out your room?" Melissa asked.

"Totally." Emily said. Melissa got up and got Emily her crutches, and they walked up the stairs carefully. Melissa opened the door and Emily walked in. "Holy crap...This is amazing." The bedroom had red brick walls with a black Jordan logo painted on the wall on the left from the bed. The bed was king sized and the head rest on the bed was filled with shelves. The bedpost had drawers at the bottom for storage. There was a mini fridge and a desk. It also had a black leather couch.

"Thats not it." Melissa threw Emily a remote. "Press the power button." The other brunette said. Emily pressed the button. A space of the brick wall opened and a 70 inch TV slowly came out.

"No fucking way." Emily said. Melissa smiled.

"We aren't so bad Emily, this room is way better than Spencer's. I'll leave you alone to enjoy yourself." Melissa said. Emily limped over to the bed. It was amazingly comfortable. Her phone rang. It was Alison. She ignored it. Her phone rang again, she looked at it. This time it was Cece.

"Hey whats up?" Emily asked.

"We're on our way over there to hang with you." Cece said.

"Okay, see you guys then." Emily said before hanging up. She sat up on the bed. She grabbed her crutches and then walked downstairs. Soon enough, they arrived.

"Yo, this is a super nice pad." Jake said.

"Yeah, I know right...Come check out my room." Emily said. They all walked upstairs.

"Dude, this is sick." Toby said. He plopped down on the bed.

"Is Melissa Hastings single?" Jake asked.

"Yes...please don't try to hit on her." Emily said. He rolled his eyes.

Suddenly a familiar blonde came in Emily's room. "Emily, I don't want to not be in your life. I need you Emily...I love you." Alison said.

"Ali...I love you too." Emily said.
