Chapter 2: Blossom City Rescue Part 1

As the Virgin Victory flew around the world at high speed, the Wonderful Ones traveled around the ship preparing for the next mission. Wonder Painter walked through the ship's corridors, the tanuki walked toward the ship's command center until he saw Wonder Panda standing by one of the windows.

"Hey panda, have you got a minute?" The nuki's call startled the panda; he turned his way to show him messing with one of the pistons on his arms.

"Oh, P-Painter what's up?" He asked nervously.

"Relax rookie, look I know I was rough before but I gotta say you did a good job." Painter smiled as he held his hand out to shake the panda's. "We're in CENTINELS HQ right now so no need for our hero names, you can call me Gaz."

"Wow thanks, that compliment means a lot from a veteran like you Gaz." Panda grinned as he shook hands with his senior. "I'm Kageichi, though friends call me Kage for short. What did you want to talk about?"

"I was wondering about those gauntlets of yours, you mentioned them before but didn't explain it much." Gaz replied. "How did you make weapons like that?"

"Oh that's easy I made the design from an idea from my favorite anime character." He showed the gauntlets better letting the pistons pull out then back into themselves. "The pistons add to my punching power making my martial arts even more powerful, I also have my rocket fist mode and my third mode after that's even cooler. Those two were the hardest to add to my Wonder Bunkers but Professor Shirogane really liked my idea and helped me add them to the functions."

"That's very interesting but… hehe, is "Wonder Bunkers" really such a great name?" The tanuki chuckled at the rather amusing name. "No offense, it's just a little suggestive."

"Really? Huh… I never knew." Kage laughed as a goofy grin crept onto his face.

"There's something else I'd like to ask Kage, no offense but I read up on your information and from what I read… what made you become a Wonderful One?" The sudden question seemed to bring a change to the panda, his expression slowly faltered as he became lost in a train of thought. "Kage…?"

"It's hard to really say… sometimes I feel like I was born to join …" What did Kage mean by that he wondered. But before Gaz could reply the Virgin Victory's GEATHJERK alarm rang through the halls. "Looks like it's time to work again, let's hurry to the commander!"

"Right!"

The Wonderful Ones on the ship rallied to the control center of the ship, gathering together in front of a hologram of the earth pinpointing GEATHJERK citing all around the world.

"Team. After Twenty years of science, GEATHJERK is back, and now they're hitting us where it hurts, with their first preemptive strike on Blossom City…" The voice heard from a chair behind the hologram was that of the CENTINELS Commander Nelson, an aged lion with a long grey mane mostly hidden under his pilot's hat that his eyes over its shadow and also complimented his moustache of the same color. He wore a grey captain's jacket under a black suit with a red tie around his neck. He stood from his chair chest out with a strong and commanding voice. "But we can't let them have it. The rise of that city is the rise of our planet following Earth Defense War II, and I'll die before I let them lay their paws on it."

"Blossom City…" Kage muttered softly.

"You've been there before rookie?" Gaz asked.

"We had a college trip there once, everything looked so beautiful there." The panda remembered the city well. "They had some great food there, and the sites were something to behold too."

"Our colleagues at the Gaia Defense Army have already activated the Hyper Plasma Shield that circles the planet, codenamed "Margarita."." The hologram of earth became enveloped in a golden barrier as a group of ships fired lasers that bounced off as Nelson explained the situation. "That plasma layer has most of the invading army deadlocked. Unfortunately, none of the GDA tactical simulations accounted for the salty dingoes blitzing our orbital defenses before Margarita could be shaken to life, and now entire battalions have turned our home into a cocktail of destruction. The CENTINELS have gathered you all here on the Virgin Victory for one reason and one reason only: an all-out attack on GEATHJERK. We will eliminate the enemy with speed, precision, and extreme prejudice. I hereby initiate "Project Stinger"!"

"Sir, with only a few Wonderful Ones here on the ship can we really take them all?" Gaz questioned.

"Wonder Ones from around the world are being rushed in and will join you as the battle progresses. Wonder Panda, as a resident of Blossom City, your knowledge of the battlefield will be a valuable asset to the team." Nelson explained. "I'm pointing you in charge. This is your chance to prove you have what it takes."

"W-Wait, what!?" Kageichi responded with quite a shock to their commander's um… command.

"Sir with all due respect, though he did show promise he is still a rookie." Gaz interjected.

"H-He's right, I'm not even sure if I can really-!?"

"Accept command of the team." The lion told sternly. "As for you Painter, it's not as though I don't agree with your inquiry but I believe this responsibility will be a way to prove he was right to be a part of the CENTINELS. You will be the team's second-in-command and assist him when needed."

"Yes sir!" Painter and Panda replied in unison before looking back to each other, still unsure about the commander's decision, but their thoughts were soon broken as the ship began to shake under the Wonderful One's feet.

"Tachyon Radar showing multiple hostiles. I'm reading attack squadrons in the Blossom City suburbs." The soft feminine voice came from Virgin Victory's pilot and navigator, a silver fox with light green eyes named Alice Mcgregor. "Waveform patterns indicate heavy anti-air artillery."

"Anti-air…? They must be trying to block our approach!" The commander pointed to the Wonderful Ones as his chests rose for a powerful command. "Wonderful 100! Deploy and eliminate those enemy forces, on the double!"

"Time to see what you and those gauntlets can really do, let's move out Panda!" Gaz patted the rookies back as he noticed his sudden nervousness. "You're looking too nervous than you should be. Is that how the heroic beast should be?"

"Y-Yeah, I never had to lead people before." He slowly sighed letting the tension leave his body and relax. "Okay… I think I'm better now. You don't mind if I happen to constantly ask you for help do ya?"

"I'll help when I can, but you have to prove yourself along the way!" Seeing the panda nod, Gazpacho turned back to the other twenty members with a determined look. "Team! Fall in!"

"Roger!"

Stationing over the suburbs, Wonder Panda and the Wonderful Ones leapt from the Virgin Victory and landed in front of the Blossom City Elementary School with P-Star flying beside him. The panda grinned as stuck his fists out and pulled them back to his sides with a powerful thrust.

"Team! Unite up!" Panda commanded receiving a large "Roger" from his team. Blue lights appeared around in front of the school gates and summoned a group of Chew-Dough Goo that soon each summoned four dozen Dough Goo's in front of them. "Alright, just touched down and we've already got a fight!"

"There's two groups for each of us, we'll do a multi unite morph." Painter grabbed his brush and the team began to split off into groups of ten. "No time to slow down, let's take them down: Unite Sword!"

Jumping into the air, Wonder Painter's team morphed over his brush making a large sword and cut through the Dough Goo like butter. He sliced through the small fry in an instant with his blade crashing them into each other like dominos, but the larger GEATHJERK proved to be much quicker for him; the Chew-Dough Goo dodged the swing of his blade ready to strike back with a counterattack from front and back, Painter noticed this and jumped into the air fast enough for the two attacks to collide. With both dazed from their attacks, he tucked into a ball and with his sword he swung in a massive circle before landing into the ground. Both enemies were cut in half as the unite morph disappeared.

Painter turned ready to head back to the rest of the team, but stopped deciding to watch how the rookie leader could handle the fight. The dozen Wonderful Ones were attack the Dough Goo's together each with a partner dealing the final blow, one in particular who fought with his fists uppercut the enemy into the air and left his partner who sliced it in half with his own blade. As the others took care of the smaller soldiers, Wonder Panda took on the Chew-Dough Goo's on his own. He dodged their punches with ease, grabbing the arm of the GEATHJERK he threw it away with impressive strength.

"Hehe, is that all you got?" Panda was grinning, his excitement apparent as he continued to fight. The Chew-Dough Goo dashed at him at as it readied to punch he quickly grabbed its fist, it tried to strike with its other fist but he caught it as well. "I gotcha now!" Panda quickly ducked his head as another swordsman in his team came from behind and sliced at its head, noticing the second one charging at them he threw the bottom half of the body and with the pistons on his leg he shot off into its direction. "Unite Hand!" Panda's team morphed into a large fist right on time as he struck the GEATHJERK with a powerful uppercut, as he kept it in the air with his fist the gauntlet's piston pulled back and shot back in for a powerful burst that caused the alien machines to explode. "Hahaha, explosions!"

"Not bad, but let's not get carried away we got more of them to stop." Painter and the rest of his group formed back together with the team. "I noticed some civilians closer to the suburbs, let's hurry before they get hurt."

"Right, let's move out team!"

The team dashed off exiting the school gates to find the civilians together on the street, using the wonder liner they were equipped with wonder masks and joined the team as more GEATHJERK began to appear before them. The Dough and Chew-Dough Goo huddled together and went for a full powered charge.

"Unite Guts!" Painter and Panda called out as they and the larger formed team transformed into a large red plate of jello, the transformation took the force f the GEATHJERK attack and bounced it back at them throwing them into the air. "Unite Sword/Hand!" The two leaders quickly changed and morphed each half of their team into their respective weapons, Painter slashed with fast precision cutting them into ribbons while Panda crushed the aliens under his giant fist.

"Alright now let's move out!" The panda's enthusiasm grew with each fight he lead the team through the streets of the suburbs, but was cut off as more enemies appeared before them. The team was ready for another fight until Painter caught sight of an out of control helicopter falling down towards a large group of civilians.

"That copter is about to fall on those citizens!" Painter's warning caused Panda to quickly react as the pistons in his boots pulled forward and shot himself into the air. "Panda wait you can't stop it on your own!"

"I gotta try or the people are dead meat!" He grabbed and pulled the piston far to his shoulder and ready to fight but realized the plane was falling much faster than expected. "Damn I might not reach it, gotta slow it down somehow."

"Wonder Eyes White!"

A voice shouted out from below as a flash of light dashed up towards the helicopter faster than he was. The light dimmed and showed a large polar bear wearing a CENTINEL jumpsuit of the same color with white flames coming from his paws. "Flaming Fist!" he exclaimed as he punched under the helicopter, the white flames burned brighter and melted through to the top cutting it in half.

"Wonder Eyes Silver!" Another voice exclaimed from another direction in a flash of light, it jumped over a building to show another Wonderful One, a large gorilla in a silver suit resembling a football uniform. He thrusts his fist as the silver gauntlet he wore opened a pair of rocket thrusters from behind and flew him at high speed. With great force from the rocket fist he struck the front half of the plane and slammed it into the other half. "Destroy it now!"

"Got it!" Now that it was easier to destroy at once, Wonder Panda readied his fist and struck the crushed copter with great force. The piston slammed back into place causing a huge burst of power that caused the plane to explode on impact. He landed back to the street with the two other Wonderful Ones just as Painter had finished cutting up the rest of the GEATHJERK soldiers. Panda looked back to the two beside him with a large grin on his face. "That was totally cool, the fire was awesome but then the rocket fists were just as awesome! How'd you design it to work like that, what material is it made out of? How'd you learn to make flames like that too?"

"Calm down will ya, someone's an eager cub." The polar bear known as Wonder White chuckled at panda's questions. "The White Flame, CENTINEL agent Wonder White at your service."

"King of the urban jungle, I'm the CENTINEL agent Wonder Silver." The large gorilla responded. "We were called by Commander Nelson to assist, you're the team leader right?"

"Wait really? I thought it Painter over there was the leader." White moved closer to examine the panda thoroughly, the disturbed look coming from him made the bear smile. "Hehe, well I guess you get points for cuteness."

"W-What?" Panda blushed through his mask but tried his best to hide it. "You shouldn't say stuff like that especially on the field."

"It's a little early to start teasing the newbie White." Silver grinned. "Don't mind him; he's a good guy if not goofy at times."

"You guys can mingle later." Painter gathered the rest of the team after giving wonder masks to the citizens. "Are you guys the only ones that made it?"

"There was another guy with us but he went missing trying to help some citizens near the docks." Silver replied. "We were about to go and help when we saw that chopper about to crash."

"Alright then we'll head toward the docks North from here, follow me!" Taking the lead again, Panda dashed with the rest of the team in tow toward the scene of the docks through a storage building. "The way to the bridge is over to our left so…"

"Heads up, GEATHJERK at 5 o'clock!" White's warning readied the warriors as their enemies appeared. Dough Goo and Chew-Dough Goo alike began to appear, but behind them appeared a strange machine, a large floating pod-like object with small capsules inside.

"What's that thing?" Panda asked curiously, P-star flew closer as he began to quickly scan the mysterious machine.

"*beep* Object identified as a GEATHJERK containment unit named Gatcha *bzzt*" The robot answered completing his scan. "Several people are trapped inside, also sensing the energy of a Wonder Pendant."

"It must be the other guy he got captured trying to save the citizens." Silver responded. "We gotta get him and the others out of there."

"Look at it, there's a screw in the middle of it." Painter pointed his brush to the large screw on the Gatcha. "Panda, you take a few people and unscrew that machine it might release the people."

"Alright, then leave it to me!" With ten people at his side, Wonder Panda dashed off toward the Gatcha, as more Dough-Goo appeared in front of the machine his pistons pulled out from his boots and shot him forward. His hands dragged onto the ground and he spun himself around kicking each GEATHJERK into the water. "Alright, Unite Hand!"

As he called out the unite morph, so did Silver and White. The two morphed giant hands of their respective colors standing back to back as the enemies surrounded them. Silver's jabs were fast and strong, striking Dough-Goo's twice and uppercutting them into the air. White's fist burned in white flames as he punched and smashed the GEATHJERK beneath his fist, his hand grabbed a half dozen of them and burned them all to ashes.

Wonder Painter circled around his enemies with Unite Sword in hand; two Chew-Dough Goo lunged after the tanuki with electric robotic fists. Grinning, he dodged with pure artistic smoothness and as he slipped between them he swung his blade through their waists. Their upper bodies slid from their lower bodies before exploding.

"Hmph…" Through the smoke of the explosion, several Dough Goo appeared in the air for a surprise attack. But as they began to fall a quick flash of blue slashed through them and creating a large explosion shaped like a leaf. "Valiantium Brush Technique: Leaf Stroke!"

As the rest of his team took out the enemies, Panda used his unite morph turning the large screw that slowly released the captured citizens inside. Soon he released the final capsule inside which then destroyed the Gatcha machine, the capsule opened to reveal a chubby monochrome wolf wearing a CENTINEL suit of the same color and a Wonder Mask.

"Ugh… what happened?" The wolf groaned as he looked up to see Panda and the others coming up beside him. "Silver, White it's you guys. And you found the rest of the team. Did you guys save me?"

"We sure did man, good to see that you're ok." White helped him back to his feet as he answered. "You remember Painter right? The cute guy over there is Wonder Panda, the leader of the team."

"No kidding, this new guy?" The wolf chuckled. "Well you're right he is a cutie, nice to meet you. I'm CENTINEL agent Wonder Hikarikurai."

"That's a… um… mind if I call you Hikari for short?" Panda asked.

"Sure thing, everybody does anyway!" Hikari replied.

"Glad to see that you're ok Hikari, we should get back to taking care of the rest of those jerks in the city." Painter told. "Panda, lead the way."

"Right, Team let's move out!" With a large "Roger" from the team, the Wonderful Ones continued through the docks and dashed further into the city.
