Athelas: Epilogue

Sasuke watched proudly as a sea of people surrounded him. Today was the inauguration of Naruto Uzumaki. Tsunade had finally decided to step down as Ruler of Konoha. After five years, he had come back with his family to support his friend. They had seen Naruto three years prior for his wedding with the Hyuuga Princess.

"And where is your princess?" Itachi asked.

"She should be around." Sasuke said. Sasuke and Sakura had gotten married a year ago and what a wonderful wedding it was. Just about a week ago, Sakura had asked to go on a solo trip to Konoha to see Chiyo and Sasori. Sasuke was hesitant to agree when his wife had been feeling under the weather. However, it was arranged that they were to meet up today to celebrate their friend's big day.

As if on cue, the Hyuuga family was walking towards their way with Sakura in tow. Neji had a hand on Sakura's back as he led her through the crowd. Sasuke narrowed his eyes at the Hyuuga Prince. You'd think after a year of marriage he would bug off. Sasuke was about to go up to them when Sakura caught sight of him and ran to him.

"Sasuke-kun!" Sakura said as she wrapped her arms around his neck. Sasuke gracefully caught her and twirled her around as the two kissed. Sasuke glanced over to Neji to see him frowning. Sasuke smirked. Learn your place bastard.

Itachi shook his head as he sent a look of pity to the Hyuuga Heir. Tough luck.

"Sasuke-kun, you have a scary expression on your face." Sakura pointed out before shaking her head. "Anyways, I need to speak to you."

"What is it?" Sasuke raised an eyebrow.

"You see, I-I"

"Sakura, its so nice to see you again!" Mikoto greeted as she interrupted Sakura. Sasuke couldn't help but make a face. "Sasuke told me you went on ahead." The elder elf grabbed the dwarf by the hand as her eyes widened. "Oh."

"Mother?" Sasuke called out.

"Oh nothing." Mikoto smiled as she turned to look at the Hyuuga's Seer. Hanabi noticed the Uchiha's Seer's stare and gave her a knowing grin. Mikoto soon leaned in to whisper in her daughter-in-law's ear. "Congrats." Sakura blushed as her face matched her hair. Mikoto laughed as she went back to her husband.

"Are you picking on Sakura again?" Fugaku frowned. Throughout the years, he finally saw what the other clans did and began to fawn over the Dwarf as well.

"Shush, they're about to start." Mikoto warned him as everyone gave his or her attention to Tsunade who had appeared on top of the balcony. Naruto stood next to her, fidgeting. Hinata was next to him holding his hand for support.

"Thank you everyone! Today we have come together to celebrate our new king of Konoha! Naruto Uzumaki!"

Everyone cheered as Kakashi appeared out of nowhere and created fireworks in the sky. The feasting and merry-making continued onto the night. Music played loudly as people began to dance.

Sasuke and Sakura stood together as they began to slow dance. Sakura stood on top of Sasuke's feet as he glided them gracefully through the dance floor. Ino was cracking up in the corner with Sai as she saw the two. Sakura blushed in embarrassment only for Sasuke to give her a kiss on the forehead.

"I can't believe the idiot is now king of a Kingdom." Sasuke began the conversation.

"Me neither. He's grown so much." Sakura added.

"He's going to run this kingdom to the ground." Sasuke smirked.

"Don't be rude." Sakura reprimanded him. "He's going to be a great king with Hinata by his side. He's going to be busy. Hinata is already pregnant. So is Ino."

"Great." Sasuke muttered. "Still can't believe she married Sai."

Sakura made a face but ignored his comment. "They both think their kids are going to be a boy."

"Ah."

"If we were to have a daughter, one of them could marry her. What do you think?"

"Hn." Obviously, he wasn't trying to pay attention anymore.

"Good, because I am with child as well." Sakura said with a shy smile. "I'm kind of leaning on having Ino part of the family."

"That's good." Sasuke said as he twirled her around.

Sakura smirked as she waited for the information to hit him. She watched as his eyes widened and stopped dancing.

"What?" Sasuke said looking at her face and then to her stomach.

"I just found out last week when I went to visit Chiyo. That's when she took me to Tsunade. Hanabi and her family happened to be there already and told me what I already figured out. We're going to have a baby!"

"A baby?" Sasuke choked out.

"A girl!" Sakura grinned.

Sakura was suddenly surprised when her husband pulled her into a tight hug. She began to blush, not being used to him being so affectionate. "S-Sasuke-kun…" She wrapped her arms around him as she returned the embrace.

"OI! GET A ROOM YOU TWO!" Naruto called out from across the dance floor as Sasuke flipped him off.

"Shut up idiot!" Sasuke shouted back. "I'm going to be a father!"

Naruto's eyes widened before he gave him a huge grin. "Your poor child!"

Sakura sighed as Sasuke went to hit their friend.

"Men. They never grow up."

Kakashi chuckled as he came up and grabbed the boys before they could exchange fists.

"Naruto, you just became King. It wouldn't do good to start a fight with the Uchiha Clan." Kakashi said with a smile as he carried them back to Sakura. Sakura began to lecture them as Kakashi began to reminisce. They had come a far a way from a dense dragon tamer, a spoiled elf prince, and a bi-polar dwarf. They really were the best choice for their mission back then and he wouldn't choose anyone else.

"Ew, Kakashi has a weird look in his eye." Naruto commented.

Kakashi gave them a look.
