Okay, before I start this chapter I have some major explaining to do. I don't really have any excuses for my five month hiatus, it really wasn't fair to the people who had been following the story. All of the chapters I pre-wrote got deleted and I just didn't have the motivation to keep going on this story, that was until I kept continuously getting notifications that people were reviewing, favoriting and following. I dedicate this chapter to all the people who helped me get my inspiration back. Thanks to all of you

I awoke to deep snoring and rough hands around me. Haymitch and I had shared a bottle of whiskey and many more kisses the night before. I didn't drink enough to get a hang over, which I was happy for. I was worried, wondering if Haymitch would push me away after last night.
The snoring stopped and Haymitch's calloused hands traced circles on my arms. I looked up and saw him looking down at me, worry in his eyes.
"Do you regret what happened." He asked. I leaned my head back onto his chest.
"No, do you."
"I've wanted you ever since you shot that Apple out of that pig's mouth" he whispered in a raspy voice. "The was when I knew you weren't like other tributes, you weren't just going to bend to the whim of Snow. I saw beauty in your fire, you were stronger than me, you didn't let it burn out."
"I guess I knew how I felt last night," I told him. "I realized that even though you get on my nerves a lot, I can count on you. And that's saying a lot these days."
he muttered a response and then slid out from my grasp, turning to stand in front of me. I noticed that he didn't have the same clothes on that he was wearing the night before, and I wondered when he'd changed.
"Breakfast?" He asked.
"Sure." I told him, standing to follow him as he walked into the kitchen. He opened the cabinets looking for anything besides alcohol, to no avail.
"Eggs it is." He said, opening the refrigerator and grabbing the carton. I grabbed a clean pan off the counter and sat it on the stove, moving to sit at the table. I watched as he attempted and failed to cook. He ended up with a pan of burnt eggs and a melted cooking spoon.
"I don't really cook." He told me, turning around to revel a sheepish grin.
"Go again," I said "you'll get it next time."
I saw a smirk flash across his face before he turned back to the stove to start working again. This time the eggs turned out half decent and I smiled as he slid them onto two plates and handed me one. He sat down beside me taking my hand. I looked up into his eyes, all traces of playfulness gone.
"What happened last night can't happen again." I felt my lips curve down, in a look of frustration.
"but I thought you didn't regret it?" I asked.
"I don't," He paused for a second, and I felt a but coming up. "But you're too young"
I opened my mouth to protest but Haymitch didn't let me get a word in.
"Katniss you don't understand," I tried once again to cut in, to no avail. "If people see us they'll hate you even more. They'll see it as, you killed Peeta and not even two weeks later you're with someone else."
"But-"
"Katniss I'm not arguing this!" He looked at me with anger in his eyes.
"Fine," I whispered, standing up from my place at the table. "I thought you wanted to help me."
I walked into the bathroom and grabbed my clothes from the counter. I slid on my boots and walked out of the bathroom, noticing that Haymitch was still seated in the kitchen. I made my way through the house leaving through the front door and heading toward my house. I opened the front door to see my mom sitting in a chair in the living room.
"Katniss where have you been?" She asked. Standing up from her chair and walking toward me.
"None of your business." I said, dismissing her and heading toward my room. I opened the door fell on my bed and wondered why anything that I want is always to much to ask for.
