Blood.

It was everywhere, her hands, her face; it stained her short bridesmaid dress. Yet she welcomed it with open arms, as if they were old friends. It had finally happened; the devil was dead, but at what cost? She sat there next to the lifeless body with the murder weapon, a paper weight in her hand. She could hear Brooke's voice, but it sounded so far away when it fact Brooke was across the room.

It wasn't supposed to happen like this, but then when did fate follow the rules? Fate was a cruel thing.

She looked down at the body; she had never killed someone like this – with so much anger and hate towards one single person. It scared her. She was free though. The darkness gone from her life forever now.

Freedom.

It never tasted so good.

It wasn't until she heard Brooke say in a panic voice that she was going to get Liam that snapped her out of her daze.

"No." Aoibheann snapped. Her voice full of bitterness. Dropping the paper weight to the floor as she stood up, she added in a softer voice, "My family can never know. No one involved with the IRA can know." She didn't mean to snap at Brooke like that, but one wrong move now could cost them their lives now.

Blinking away the tears Aoibheann mumbled, "I'm sorry father."

12 hours earlier

Biting the end of the pen as she looked over the guest list, Anna's head snapped up when she heard voice coming from down the hallway. She couldn't help but to think how odd that was since it was five in the morning and over ninety percent of the wedding party got trashed last night. Having her nosiness get the best of her, Anna walked out of the library and poked her head around the corner to see Liam talking to his father in hush voices. 'Must have gotten here late.' She thought to herself, not paying any mind to the look Liam's father was giving her.

"Liam is Brooke awake?" She asked as she made her present know to Liam, since he was focused on the text message that he just got. "I just need to talk to her about some wedding stuff." She added once Liam raised an eyebrow at her.

"Um, she's somewhere around here." His eye still glued to his phone. Either the Irish was trying to hide his face from her or he just had horrible manners. Knowing he had prefect manners like his oldest brother, Anna couldn't help but to narrow her eyes at him.

Sighing heavy, Anna started on her hunt to find Brooke. She knew it would be so much easier if she had the brunette's number, but she didn't. In fact Anna had barely spoken to Liam's girlfriend since she arrived in Laguna. She didn't mean for it to happen in all honesty planning her wedding had taken over her life. She had no idea how wedding planners did it.

As she tiptoed passed a passed out Leo in the kitchen (who passes out in a kitchen anyway?) Anna saw Brooke sitting out on the beach from the back porch doors.

"Brooke?" Anna called out as she made her way down the beach towards the brunette. "Hey, Brooke." She placed her hand softly on Brooke's shoulder to get her attention, which only caused the younger women to jump slightly. "Sorry." Anna said with a sweet smile.

"It's okay, I was just thinking." Brooke said as she watched Anna sit down next to her.

Anna made a mental note to ask Brooke about that later. "So I had to make some last minute changes to the seating arraignment. You were going to sit with Liam's family since you're his girlfriend, but I got a call a few hours ago and I guess now the president of Ireland can make it. So you will be sitting with Ben, his girlfriend, Leo, Matt, Jake and Ryan's girlfriend April."

"Ryan has a girlfriend?" Brooke asked with a shocked tone. She had no idea. She knew that he had a thing with a girl but not a girlfriend.

"Yeah, I met her at the bachelorette party." Anna paused for a moment as she watched the sun rise. "He doesn't want her to find out about the family business yet."

Brooke didn't say anything back as her mind wander to one of the first times she had heard Ryan talk about Anna.

..

"I am telling you and I swear to god, Anna is Sherlock Holmes." Ryan told Brooke as he passed the joint to his little sister. "Don't ever let yourself be alone with her –she'll figure out your life story in two seconds flat."

"Bloody hell Ryan." His sister said, letting the smoke escape through her lips. "Ryan is just upset that he finally found someone who he can't push over the edge."

..

"I have to ask. What are you doing out here at five in the morning?" Anna could tell that Brooke was spacing off and by her body language it was easy to tell that something was bugging her.

Brooke opened her mouth to speak, but snapped it closed. She wasn't for sure if she should tell Anna or how to even let the blonde know what happened last night with Darcie. Thinking that maybe Anna had went through something similar Brooke told her everything. The cruel words he used, the way he said it and how he belittled her in every way.

Anna's heart broke as she listens to Brooke. She had never personal dealt with that side of Darcie yet and she counted her blessings every day for that. "Darcie is…" Anna spoke in a calming tone as she thought of the right words. "A psychopath and narcissist with a hint of bipolar disorder. I'll tell you one thing though; if he wasn't married to Caitlin he would be nothing. Darcie came from a middle class family, with no bright future. Honesty, don't let his words bug you. You are a wonderful girl who can survive anything."

"Why doesn't she divorce him?"

"Fear."

Knowing that she needed to do a few more things before she could even think of breakfast, Anna quickly stood up and brushed the sand off her legs.

"Anna, how do you do it?"

She calculated Brooke's face before she spoke in a kind voice. "If you have to ask me… you're with the wrong man."

10:30 am

"I got that summertime, summertime sadness. S-s-summertime, summertime sadness!" April sang loudly as she walked into Aoibheann's room, knowing that her boyfriend's sister was sleeping the morning away. "WAKE UP!" The blonde yelled as she jumped on Aoibheann's bed, causing the younger girl to jolt up with a murderous look on her face as she said "Holey Jesus on a stick!" April couldn't help but to laugh.

"Morning! Starbucks ice coffee and doughnuts are down stairs in the kitchen - if the chiefs haven't thrown them away. You should have seen the evil looks they gave me, when I set the doughnuts on the kitchen island." April could tell just by looking at Aoibheann that she had a very long night. "What time did you go to bed?"

"Um," Aoibheann mumbled as she rubbed the sleep away from her eyes. "After Leo passed out… so around two, but I got up and worked out with Chon at five, took a shower and smoked weed with Ben and O. Then I had breakfast with Jake."

"So are you and Jake?"

"We're just friends. I mean god, I just ended it with Chon."

April shrugged her should as if to say 'so'. "Anyway, Anna wanted me to wake you up – I guess you, me and Brooke and the rest of the bridesmaids need to be at Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salon at 12."

After doing her normal routine minus the hair and makeup, Aoibheann threw on a black shirt dress, Chanel flats, knowing that she was going to need baggy clothes so she wouldn't miss up her hair or makeup for the wedding. 'Better find Brooke.' The young Irish woman thought to herself as she walked down the hallway towards Liam's room, but stopped dead when she heard her older brother's voice coming from his office. It really wasn't his voice that made her tiptoe near the door to his office, it was what he was talking about that made her spy on him.

"Yes, his name is John, but they call him Chon." She heard Liam snap as he paced back and forth. "All I need to know is that he is getting shipped out tomorrow morning to Iran."

Her eyes went wide as she listened to her brother talk on his cellphone. She was left stunned that her own brother was doing this, but deep down it didn't surprise her one bit. He didn't want anyone to take Brooke away and he thought that Chon would.

Knowing that she had to do something, anything Aoibheann pushed the door open and walked in; her face showing no emotions. "Liam." She said with a serious tone, staring at her older brother as he ended the call.

"Sister." The smirk on his face grew larger as he watched her try to keep her cool.

"How could you! Are you really that fucking crazy?" She asked as she stood face to face with him, only inches away. "You're just like him." She whispered once she realized that he wasn't going to answer her.

"Like who dear sister? And please remember that I do have a temper."

"Darcie."

He roughly grabbed her shoulders. "I am nothing like him!" Liam roared. "Everything I do is for our family!"

"You should see yourself. A murderous expression, a self-righteous posturing." She said in a firm voice.

Aoibheann glanced down at her brother's hands, then at his face. She knew nothing she would say would defuse their argument. Seconds passed between the siblings, both standing their ground to see who would back off first. Liam was the first to break the silence. "Do you want me to send you to Ireland, little sister?" He knew that was the one thing that she feared. Going back home meant more involvement with the IRA.

Fear and anger took over her body. She wasn't for sure what came over her, but she spit in her brother's face. Feeling his hands leave her shoulders she said with a deadly clam voice, "You know I would hate to find out what Brooke would think of you if she ever found out your involvement with Chon leaving." After seeing the shock look on Liam's face, she quickly walked out of his office to find Brooke, so they could get the hell of out the mansion and head over the salon.

Walking into the salon and April could tell that she was already going to hate this place, unless they gave her red wine.

"You okay?" Brooke asked Ryan's girlfriend as everyone sat down; waiting for the hair dressers to come get them.

"Ugh. Goddam pantyhose. Has anyone ever died from crotch asphyxiation?"

Brooke just started at the blonde before she busted into laughter which raised a few eyebrows from two of the bridesmaids. April just waved them off, not caring that she and Brooke were making a scene.

"What's so funny?" Aoibheann asked the two as she plopped down in the chair next to Brooke.

"Crotch asphyxiation." Brooke mumbled to Aoibheann. The young Irish woman, just shook her head with a giggle.

An hour later as Brooke and Aoibheann were getting their finishing touches done to their makeup, both girls hear April say to her hair dresser, "Sadly I am not a natural blonde… I dye it – you wouldn't understand."

Anna spots him and it's like all the stress fades away; months of planning the ceremony and the reception, nerve wrecking days of deciding how to decorate and what to wear. They are all gone and they all had a purpose.

The purpose is standing in front of her. A smile on his lips that whisper, "You look beautiful." His deep chocolate eyes full of happiness.

"I love you," Anna whispers back.

The minister talks and talks. He talks too much and for so long, while Anna stands there just wanting to get it over with. To marry the love of her life. Glancing out of the corner of her eyes as the minister talks, Anna could see Ben's girlfriend shedding happy tears and his parents both wearing a proud smile. Ben's parents had made Anna who she was today. They helped her find her calling and were there each step of the way, showing her what it takes to be psychologist in the world the live in.

They get to the vows.

"Brian James Callaghan, Poets often describe love as an emotion that we can't control, one that overwhelms logic and common sense. That's what it's like for me. I didn't plan on falling in love with you, and I doubt if you planned on falling in love with me. But once we met, it was clear that neither of us could control what was happening to us. We fell in love, despite our differences, and once we did, something rare and beautiful was created. For me, love like that has happened only once, and that's why every minute we spent together has been seared in my memory. I'll never forget a single moment of it. I am yours and always will be. I love you with all my heart, forever." Anna says, trying hopelessly to fight the tears.

"Anna Marie Royal, it's been a long journey for us. We stood the test of time, defeating a whole paraphernalia of other challenges along the way too. My life would not be the same without you, for you are my light. In the darkest hours, you were there always, you never failed me." Brian paused for a second. "You and I were different. We came from different worlds, and yet you were the one who taught me the value of love. You showed me what it was like to care for another, and I am a better man because of it. I don't want you to ever forget that. I love you so much and I'm overwhelmed with joy that you'll let me make you happy for the rest of our lives. " He recites his vows like he knows them by heart.

After the ceremony dinner, everyone found themselves back at Liam's mansion, drinking, dancing, and celebrating the newly married couple; who just finished their first dance as husband and wife. The décor of the whole mansion and everything outside was 1920s, The Great Gatsby theme. It looked just like the parties in the movie. It was breath taking. It was the wedding of the year, hands down. No one was going to be able to beat this wedding.

Ryan grabbed two champagne glasses as he winked at Emily, who just rolled her blue eyes and continued to talk to his mother about starting college and becoming a teacher.

"Here you are, love." Ryan handed a champagne glass to April who couldn't take her eyes off the father and daughter dance. Tears were starting to form in her eyes. April was a sucker for weddings, she always cried at them.

Before Ryan had a chance to ask April if she would like to dance, since a new song was starting to play, Aoibheann walked over to them, still in her lovely sweetheart chiffon champagne color bridesmaid dress. "I can't find her." She said in a hush voice so only Ryan could hear her.

"Oh, sweet Mary mother of Fuck," The blue eye Irish mumbled right before he finished off his drink. "How did you lose her?" Ryan scanned the backyard and the private beach, but couldn't find her as well.

"She was talking to Leo about something, when mother called me over to meet the president of Ireland- I couldn't ignore that!" Aoibheann hissed out with a heavy Irish accent. Their mother was always trying to get her children into polities, or for them to make friends in high places. She would always tell them that it may save their lives in the future.

"Okay, go check inside and I'll keep looking out here." Ryan told his little sister as he watched April make small talk with one of Anna's family members.

Brooke had wanted to get away from the party, away from all the people, away from Liam. He had been by her side most of the night, never letting her out of his sight for too long. And though Brooke enjoyed his company, she wanted to breathe. She found herself in Liam's study, the sound of jazz blocking out the noise of everyone. She dressed in her dapper outfit that she and Aoibheann had picked out two days prior to the wedding. It was red, of course. Liam's favorite. She liked the 20's theme. It was fun, carefree, and sexy.

Brooke's fingers traced the leather bound books on the shelf behind Liam's desk, all classic books, poems, pictures of his family. She pulled out Liam's favorite book; a book of Norse Mythology. He used to read it to her in the beginning of their relationship. He knew she loved mythology, she often talked about it and he had been so happy to tell her the stories he grew up being read to by his mother.

"Ah," A voice said from the door causing Brooke to turn around. Brooke glared when she saw it was Darcie. "Liam used to come running into my office, begging me to read to him. I said no of course. He didn't need to get his head stuck in books."

"Well weren't you father of the year." Brooke remarked, placing the book down on the desk. "What do you want Darcie?"

"I watched you tonight, on Liam's arm. Never too far away from him. He keeps you on a short leash." Brooke ignored that comment. "Waiting, waiting, and waiting until you wandered off on your own. Which I knew you would. Because you can't keep a wild bird caged." He walked over to where she stood, slowly closing the space between them in a slow manner. Brooke tried to stay strong, tried to keep her fear hidden away.

"Why were you waiting for me to be alone?"

He smirked, now only a few feet away. "You insulted me, Brooke." Darcie told her, getting even closer. "And your presence here insults me and my family." He took a step forward causing Brooke to take a step back. But she was now trapped between him and the bookshelf. He had cornered her. "You're nothing more than Liam's whore. And you know what I like to do to whores? I like to eliminate them." He lunged at her, wrapping his hands around her neck.

Brooke struggled, her nails digging in to his skin as his hand squeezed around her neck as she tried to fight him off.

"I'm going to tell you a story, Brooke." He said through gritted teeth. "You see, Liam isn't my true son. I'm sure you know that." Brooke tried to scream, but his grip around her neck was too tight. She struggled, trying to kick, hit, anything. She didn't want to die. "-My wife had an affair and then came Liam. That's why I don't care for him. Liam is a bastard, I wanted to kill him. I thought about smothering him as a child. Honestly, I don't know why I didn't." He chuckled. "He was a stain on my name and now you're a stain. I can't kill Liam, he's too important to the IRA, he's the face of the IRA – but I can kill you."

His grip on her neck loosened and Brooke felt herself falling on the ground. She choked, gasping for air. She tried to crawl away but her head was spinning from the lack of oxygen. She heard the music from the party pounding in her ears. When she looked up, she saw Aoibheann standing in front of her, she was holding something in her hand. Brooke crawled a little more away until she could turn herself around and see what was happening.

That's when Brooke saw Aoibheann standing over Darcie's body. She gasped.

"Are you okay?" Aoibheann asked as she kneed down next to Brooke who was having a coughing fit. Before Brooke could answer her, Aoibheann was pulled from behind by her hair away from Brooke.

As Darcie pulled his daughter to the other side of the room, by her hair he mumbled in a dark tone, "I finally get to teach you a fucking lesson." With that being said, he tossed his daughter to the floor like she was a sack of potatoes.

Aoibheann impulsively threw her hands up to protect herself as she was thrown to the floor, praying to god that Brooke would stay out of this. She knew that Darcie would kill Brooke the first chance he got. She was not going to let her father murder Brooke, not because of Liam, because Brooke was her friend. Scrambling to find her footing, Aoibheann barley missed getting hit in the face. Darcie was stronger, but she was faster… it was the only thing that was going to keep her and Brooke alive. Knowing that she needs to slow her father down, Aoibheann quickly moved around him so she was shielding Brooke and head butt him.

Darcie staggered back a few steps as he chuckled a little.

Taking in her surroundings carefully, trying to find something to use to her advantage, Aoibheann saw Liam's desk and on his desk was a paper weight, a lamp, a book and a pen. The only problem was that Darcie was in her way.

Within in the few seconds, Aoibheann looked at Brooke and begged her with her eyes not to move or make a sound; Darcie punched her in the stomach, causing her to bend over with a moan. He then hit her in her face with his knee. Blood was dripping down her face and onto her dress, as she punched her father twice in the ribs, then kicked him in the stomach. Knowing that she couldn't let up, she shoved him to the desk, causing him to knock the lamp and caused the other objects to fall to the floor.

Grabbing the lamp's cord, Darcie slapped his daughter across the face right before he wrapped the cord around her neck. "You're weak." He mumbled into ear, pulling the cord tighter as she struggled for air. Squeezing her right hand under the cord, to try to loosen it, Aoibheann quickly roamed her free hand over Liam's desk until her hand bumped into an object.

Darcie cried out in pain when the paper weight came into contacted with his head. "You little bitch!" He roared as he went after her, but he was slower; the blow to the head had blurred his vision, but he was still able to attack Aoibheann to the ground and punch her, before she got her legs under him and kicked him off. Crawling over to the paper weight, Aoibheann felt a hand grab onto her leg and pull her away, but at the last second with all of her strength, she grabbed the paper weight. Twisting her body around, Aoibheann hit her father square in the face, knocking him to the floor.

"AHH!" the young Irish woman cried out in pain as her father stabbed her in the side of the stomach with the pen that had fallen to the floor. Without thinking and ignoring the pain that her body was screaming at her; Aoibheann lifted the paper weight over her head and with all her weight into it, she slammed in into his head over and over again. She was beating her memory of her father out of her mind, all the cruel words, his lies, the memories of her father hitting her mother and Liam. She didn't stop until his face was a bloody mess

Brooke didn't know what to say. Thank you. You just saved my life. She shook her head, Aoibheann had just killed her own father – she was sure that the last thing Aoibheann wanted to hear was her thanks. Brooke tried to think of what to do, how she could help? Did they need to move the body? She wasn't strong enough for that and if no one in the IRA could know, that meant no one at the party could help her, not Liam, not Ryan. Not Leo.

Jake.

He was one of Chons men. Brooke walked up to Aoibheann, her voice still a little hoarse. "Where's Jake?" She asked her. Aoibheann continued to look down at her father, lying dead on the floor, a pool of blood surrounding his head and slowly covering Aoibhean's knees "Aoibheann!" Brooke shook her out of her thoughts. The young Irish woman looked to Brooke. "Where's Jake?"

"I left him with the party." She told Brooke. "I went off to find you – Ryan told me what happened between you and Darcie the other night and I knew he would do something to you. When you wondered off…" She looked back down at her father. "He was coming after you – I had to stop him."

Brooke saw the blood on Aoibheann's hands and the lower part of her body. "I'm going to go find him. Stay here." She told her. "He can help us." Aoibheann nodded her head, just as Brooke was about to leave, Aoibheann spoke up once more.

"Do not tell Liam." She warned her once again. Brooke nodded and left the room.

Jake was walking around the room, taking everything in. He thought Chon and Ben shared a big house, this was nothing compared to what his friends lived in. He had been here before; he just never saw the room so filled with people still looking so large.

He checked his phone again, waiting to hear from Chon. But he knew his friend wouldn't call him at the wedding. He was leaving tomorrow, his things all packed. Ben had taken the news hard, but swore to Chon that he wouldn't tell Brooke, that she would hear it from Chon herself. Ophelia had cried, sobbed. She was scared for Chon.

Jake spotted Ben and O dancing, a look of serenity on their faces. He couldn't help but smirk. Either they had just had a quickie, or they were high as shit.

O had wanted to throw Chon a going away party but Chon had told her no, he didn't want to take away from Brian and Anna's wedding, though he didn't really know them. He had met them when Aoibheann had been shot, but that was brief. It was all so sudden that he was being shipped off too; the party would have had to be on this day. Chon wouldn't have that.

Jakes eyes scanned the room, spotting Brooke walking up to him. She looked overwhelmed by everything. When she finally got to where he was standing, she pulled him away from the party in to a different wing of the house. She looked so upset, unhinged. He figured that Chon must have called her and told her he was leaving. "You OK?" He asked, trying to be a good friend.

Brooke didn't say anything at first, looking behind her, side to side, anywhere that someone could be watching them, listening to them. When her eyes connected with Jakes again she grabbed a hold of his hand, pulling him closer to her and whispering in his ear.

His eyes widened at what she said. He pulled away quickly, looking her in the eye. "Is she OK?" He asked.

"Physically and mentally – I don't know." Aoibheann just killed her father. She had whispered in Jakes ear. "He was coming after me, choking me –"

Jake moved his hand to Brooke's neck, examining for any sign of trauma. She was going to have bruises in the morning. Brooke moved his hand away from her neck, telling him they needed to get to Aoibheann in the study.

"She doesn't want anyone in the IRA knowing what's happening." Brooke told him. "You need to help her."

Jake nodded, looking at Brooke's neck one more time. "You need to put a scarf on or something because the bruising is going to start showing."

"I have something; don't worry about me – go help Aoibheann."

Brooke watched as Jake hurried away. She then walked down the hall and up the stairs to Aoibheann's room, knowing she probably had some crème left over from when Chon had gone all PTSD on her and choked her. She found it, breathing a sigh of relief when she saw there was enough left to cover up her bruising. She quickly applied the crème.

She jumped when she heard her phone ringing in her purse. She dug through the small bag, finding the phone easily. She looked to see that Chon was calling her. She didn't have time to talk to Chon, not with everything that was happening. She was sure Jake must have called him and told him what was happening; she didn't have time to explain everything. She needed to find Liam and keep him distracted.

Chon sighed when he heard Brooke's voicemail. He knew she was probably busy with the wedding, but he needed to talk to her – hear her voice.

He smiled when her message played though. It's Brooke, leave a message. Followed by a fit of giggles from Brooke. He remembered when she made the message.

Brooke had showed Chon her new phone, telling him it was better than his, showing off all it could do. "You can't do this on your druggy flip phone." She teased him. He laughed, they were both high. "Plus you have the most boring message. It's Chon. Leave a message." She tried to mimic his voice. "I'm going to make my voice mail as serious as yours."

He smiled at her, watching as she played with her phone, getting ready to set up her outgoing voicemail message. "It's Brooke, leave a message." She said, Chon shook his head causing her to giggle as she was ending the message.

"It sounds just like mine. Especially the giggles at the end." Chon said once she played it back for him to hear, putting it on speaker. "Your impression was flawless." He teased causing Brooke to laugh, throwing her phone at him. "Oh," Chon said, catching it. "Now you're going to get it!"

Brooke screamed with a fit of laughs as she charged after her, picking her up by the waist and throwing her on her bed, tickling her sides until she was near crying with laughter. "Surrender!" He told her. Brooke shook her head, wiggling under him, cracking up.

"Never!" She replied, still laughing.

He had wanted to kiss her so badly in that moment, the way her eyes shined up at him. But Ben had come in the room, asking why Brooke was screaming. Chon had got off Brooke, chuckling, pulling her up with him as well. They had a lot of those little moments. But Chon never took the step forward. He was worried he'd ruin things with Brooke.

He wasn't good enough for her. And he was terrified he'd hurt her somehow if they were to ever get together. So he never made a move. Never took a leap of faith. And because of that, she was now in the arms of another man.

He hung up the phone, not leaving a message. Maybe this trip to Afghanistan would do him good. Do them both good. Brooke deserved a life of happiness, and Chon didn't think he could give her that. He didn't think Liam could either, but Brooke at least seemed happy being with Liam.

He looked around his room. Everything was packed. He was just missing one thing. Chon made his way to where Brookes old bedroom was, nearly empty but a few pictures. He grabbed one from her bed stand; it was of him and her. He wasn't surprised she didn't take it to Liam's house. He took the picture out of the frame and tucked it away in his pocket.

Chon took out his phone one more time. He had one last person to call.

Slipping into Liam's study, Jake was taken back with what he saw in front of him. The room looked like a war zone and in the middle sat Aoibheann next to her father. Jake guessed that she hadn't moved since Brooke let.

"Aoibheann." He whispered as he slowly walked over to her, not waiting to scare her. What he had heard from Chon and what he saw from the room, Aoibheann was dangerous. Probably the most dangerous female he had ever met. Saying her name again, only louder, Aoibheann looked over her shoulder with tears running down her face. Her face expression was a mixture of sadness and confusion.

"What- what are you doing here?" She panicked as she quickly stood up. "Where's Brooke?" Aoibheann glanced around the room, not paying in any mind that half her body was covered in blood "I need to tell her that this isn't her fault – That I don't blame her!" Her voice raspy.

"She knows." Jake said as he moved closer to Aoibheann. He was speechless as he studied her face. She showed no emotion, her body was now clam, like she had spent all day laying out in the sun.

"We need to get rid of it." She wouldn't dare say his name. He was the devil and was now dead for good. He could no longer do no harm to the people she loved.

They had somehow managed to get Darcie's body out of the study unnoticed. Everyone was too drunk, celebrating the wedding party in a different wing of the house to notice anything going on. Jake dumped the body in his car, telling Aoibheann to get back to the party.

"Where are you going to take him?" She asked, trying to calm her nerves, twisting at her knuckles to keep her fingers from shaking. She knew if anyone from the IRA found out she, Brooke and now Jake would be killed.

"The less you know the better." He told her. "Go back to the party, put on that beautiful face of yours, and act like nothing happened."

"-Jake," She tried to argue with him but he silenced her, surprising her with a kiss. She was taken aback by the action that she was left speechless when their lips were no longer touching and Jake was getting in to his car. Driving away.

Jake had found Brooke in Aoibheann's room, going through her closet. "Good," He had said, taking her by surprise causing her to swing around and face him, a dress in her hand. "She's going to need a new dress." He had said, telling her to get stay put in the room.

"What about the study?" Brooke asked Jake. "It's a mess in there!" She panicked.

"I'll take care of it, Brooke. Just make sure Aoibheann gets a new dress."

Brooke had done as she was told, grabbing the flapper dress Aoibheann had picked out for the 20's theme. She looked up and saw Aoibheann standing in the doorway, she looked horrible. Brooke stood up, not saying anything and grabbed Aoibheann's hand, taking her in to the bathroom. She sat her down on the toilet and began to clean up her face.

She didn't know what to say, so they stayed silent as Brooke cleaned her up. "Here," Brooke said, helping Aoibheann stand up once the blood was cleaned up off of Aoibheann's face. "Do you need my help getting dressed?" She asked. Aoibheann shook her head, no. Brooke nodded, handing her the dress and then left the bathroom.

Jake wasn't the only one who had their resources to make it look like tonight never happened.

Brooke had called Spin, asking for his help. Spin had a thing for Brooke, he had since he first met her, always hitting on her – she knew he'd jump at the chance to help her. Off the books – Chon and Ben can't know what you're doing. Brooke had told Spin.

Anything, what do you need? He was eager to help.

I'm going to give you a couple codes to Liam's house, security codes. I need you to erase everything that happened in this house in the last three hours. Brooke told him, getting the codes from Aoibheann.

No problem. What happened? You murder someone, Brooke? He asked with a chuckle.

The less you know the better, Spin. Brooke said, hanging up the phone.

Brooke walked in to the bathroom to see Aoibheann putting on makeup, covering up anything Brooke hadn't been able to hide. "I'm sorry, Aoibheann." Brooke told her.

"It's not your fault." Aoibheann stressed as she checked the bandaged on her stomach where she got stabbed with a fucking pen. "It was bound to happen." She turned to face Brooke. "Tell Ryan or Liam that I left with Jake." She told her brother's girlfriend. "You need to make an appearance at the party or Liam will come looking for you. Go now." She told Brooke.

Brooke nodded, listening to Aoibheann. Before she walked away, she moved forward and hugged Aoibheann. Thank you. She whispered.

Aoibheann hugged her back. My brother doesn't deserve you. She thought to herself. "Go." She said softly as Brooke let go of her. Brooke looked to Aoibheann with a worried expression on her face. "I'll be fine, go." She assured her.

Once Brooke had left, and Aoibheann was alone in her room, she grabbed her phone, ready to call Jake, telling him that she was going to stay at his house for the night, she noticed a missed voicemail.

She pressed the phone to her ear and listened to the message.

Hey Aoibheann, it's Chon. I didn't really want to leave this in a message but I know you're busy. Look, I just got word that I have to go back to Afghanistan. I'm leaving tomorrow and I know it's asking a lot but … I really need you to look after Brooke while I'm gone. I don't trust Liam, and I know he's your brother but – please, Aoibheann. Just keep an eye on Brooke. I know that's asking a lot, I just – I'm sorry. My men need me back in Afghanistan and I can't let them down. Do me a favor and don't tell Brooke about this, she'd just worry. Listen, I got to do a couple more things before I leave so I've got to go. I hope you're having fun at your brother's wedding. Bye.

Aoibheann hung up her phone, taking in a deep breath. It hurt worse knowing that Liam was behind all of this, that that was the real reason Chon was being sent back to Afghanistan.

"There's my beautiful goddess!" Liam said, spotting Brooke in the hall. "Where have you been?" He asked, taking her hand in his and bringing it to his lips, kissing her knuckles.

Brooke forced a smile. "I was feeling a little overwhelmed so I had some help from a little friend named Mary Jane." She lied causing Liam to laugh.

"You didn't have to wander away to get high – it's a party!" He laughed.

"I don't think Anna's grandparents would be OK with me smoking a bowl while they tell childhood stories of Anna." She tried to lighten the moment. Liam smiled down at her.

"Yes, I think they might oppose that." He agreed. He looked around behind her, his eyes searching. "Have you seen my dear sister?"

"She left with Jake." Brooke told him. "She said she's staying with him for the night."

"Hm," Liam said, his lips pressed together. Good, that keeps her away from Brooke, keeps her from running her mouth about Chon. "Well, come with me." Liam told Brooke. "The night is young." He smiled, taking her hand in his.

As they walked down the hall, Brooke knew what she needed to do tomorrow. She looked around the room full of people and saw Ben and O talking with guests, O was dressed in a beautiful 1920's dress, Ben in a suit. She saw Ben kiss O on the cheek, taking her wine glass from her and heading towards the bar. Brooke looked to Liam. "I need to talk to Ben." She told him, letting go of his hand.

"Are you OK?" Liam asked. Brooke smiled and nodded her head.

"I'm fine." She lied.

Liam moved forward and kissed Brooke, taking her by surprise. She closed her eyes, her fingers moving to the fabric of his tux. The young brunette kissed him back, relishing in the feeling. This could very well be the last time I kiss him, she thought. Liam pulled away slowly; his eyes closed too as he rests his forehead against hers. "I love you." He whispered.

Brooke smiled, fighting back tears. "I'll be right back." She told him, pressing her lips to his cheek before she left him standing alone.

Brooke had found Ben at the bar, getting his and O's drinks refilled. "Ben," She said quietly causing him to turn and face her. He knew in an instant that something was wrong.

"Are you OK?" He asked her.

"What time is your flight to Africa tomorrow?" She asked.

"Three in the afternoon, why?"

Brooke took in a deep breath. "Because I'm going with you."
