Silmariën is my multi-purpose OC. She is a Maia that works in Mandos's Halls.
"You did WHAT?" thundered Mandos.
"I... my lord, I only thought it would help... you know as well as I that Húrin hasn't made any progress for the past five ages, and I thought that if he could live again- in a different universe, of course, with a different name and everything so no one would know- he could make new, happier memories and perhaps be ready to travel beyond the Circles of the World when he dies again..."
"A different universe?" asked Mandos warily. "Which universe?"
"A land called Westeros, my lord... it is a land of kingdoms similar to those Húrin knew in his first life, a land currently as much as peace as any realm of the Edain could ever be... and I thought he would fit in best there..." Silmariën explained, her voice faltering when she saw Mandos's expression change to one of horror.
"Silmariën, by the time he is full grown he will be in the middle of a war. What's more, we don't know if the curse Morgoth laid upon him will be reactivated when he is reborn!"
"But... surely Morgoth's power has died now that he is trapped in the Void?" Silmariën ventured timidly. Mandos raised an eyebrow at her. She gulped and looked down at her feet.
"What is his new name?" Mandos asked wearily.
"I do not know, my lord; his parents have not named him yet."
"No, his family name!"
"Family name?"
"The name of his House! Like those the Halflings have, or the Edain of Bree... never mind." Mandos closed his eyes, and when he opened them, he looked decidedly ill.
"Lord Mandos?" Silmariën asked timidly.
Mandos sighed and shook his head. "Silmariën, I am releasing you from my service. My sister has agreed to take you in until you learn that you cannot solve all Arda's problems on your own. And we will just have to hope that the newly-named Eddard Stark does not bring doom upon himself and his family this time around."
Come on, you know this explains everything about Game of Thrones.
