You were studying in your cabin long after lights out when there was a soft tap at the door. Your head snapped up. Who in their right mind braved the harpies to come calling at the Athena cabin at midnight? You tiptoed to the door and opened it a crack cautiously. There was a quiet curse and whoever was outside shoved the door open farther (almost squashing you) and leapt into the room, landing on the floor.

"Oof." The person grunted as they hit the floorboards. The wind outside scattered your pages and pages of notes all over the cabin, and you looked on in dismay. The person on the floor looked up,, and you realised it was that boy from Cabin 9, Leo Valdez. Styx, he was your crush.

"What are you doing here?!" you hissed.

"Had to talk to you." He whispered back. You sighed and pulled him up off the floor.

"You really are something." You grumbled as you went round collecting all your notes and stacking them up on your desk again.

"Sorry." Leo said, scratching the back of his head and blushing.

"It's fine, it's okay." You whispered, raising your eyebrows to remind him to keep his voice down. It was midnight and all your siblings were asleep. He widened his eyes as he realised what you were talking about. Styx! Sorry.

You couldn't help but smile at his clumsiness. You noticed (thanks to your ADHD) that Leo was wearing his toolbelt and he had grease smears all down his front. You also realised that his eyes matched his hair: soft and dark brown, like melted dark chocolate.

"So, what's so important that you brave the harpies to come talk to me in the middle of the night?" you teased him.

"Nearly got caught actually," he admitted. "Must be because I'm so hot." He added, grinning at you. You rolled your eyes.

"Yeah, I'm sure they can't keep their eyes off you." You said sarcastically, although you half meant it.

"Yep. Anyway, I heard that Piper's organising some sort of demigod prom to celebrate our graduation this year," Leo began, and your heart flipped out.

"Yeah, I guess since we can't attend our schools' proms…" you murmured softly.

"Right," Leo said, clearing his throat. "So, I don't have a date, and Piper told me that you really like me," he continued, and you flushed a deep red. PIPER! "Um… you wanna be my date to prom?" Leo asked hesitantly.

"Uh…well, do you like me too…?" you asked back. It wasn't fair on Leo to feel like he had to go with you.

"I was hoping you would avoid that question," he said bashfully, blushing too, "because…because… Yeah, I do like you back." He looked into your eyes nervously, his hands fiddling with little scraps of Celestial Bronze. Your stomach seemed like it was flying away. Your heart was having a crazy disco party in your chest. OH. MY. GODS. A big grin spread across your face, and you covered your mouth with both hands, doubled over.

"Of course I'll go to prom with you!" you breathed, and ran forward, throwing your arms round Leo and squeezing hard. You never wanted to let go. You felt his throat vibrate as he chuckled at your enthusiasm.

"Well then, better get your beauty sleep Princess." He teased, smiling as you released him. He kissed your cheek, bid you goodnight, and with a sigh, ran back out into the night to battle the harpies to his cabin.

Just as you were about to go to bed, your brother Malcolm cracked open an eye.

"I saw and heard everything." He decalred sleepily as you gasped and reache for your knife. You jabbed it at him.

"Swear on the River Styx you won't tell anyone anything." You hissed fiercely.

He held up his hands in 'defeat'.

"I swear on the River Lethe."

"MALCOLM…"
