"How do I look?" Lily asked as she twirled in her dress for the wedding. The dress was going down to her knee and it was white with a pink stripe that went around her waist.
"You look adorable." Zelena answered truthfully as she fixed her(Zelena's) hair. Her hair was in a bun with two loose strands of her hair that framed her face. "And how do I look?"
"You look pretty."
"Thank you, munchkin." Zelena answered automatically, she had been spending a lot of time with Lily while David and Neal were there and she guessed that David's nickname for Lily just kind of stayed with her. Zelena wore a red dress that stopped just above her knees, Snow wanted her to wear a lighter color but Zelena tactically refused threatening to go with black.
There was a knock on the door and Lily went and opened it without saying anything. "David!" Lily excitedly said when she saw who it was.
"Hey, munchkin." David said and kissed Lily's cheek. "Neal's waiting for you. He's in the room over with Snow." Lily nodded and left the room, leaving them alone.
"So…" David started.
"So… what?" Zelena asked clearly confused.
"Are you nervous?"
"No, I mean, why should I? I just need to be Regina's… maid of honor? Or something like that… The weddings in Oz were so simpler!" Zelena finally said.
"So, you are nervous."
"Oh, shut up." Zelena said, "I just meant that back in Oz or Enchanted Forest all the people that had to be there were you, the person you love and someone to officiate the wedding. Here, you need maids of honor, bridesmaids, fancy peach color dresses, the aisle, the whole thing! Things like this is why I miss Oz and I used to hate Oz."
"Peach color dresses? Really, Zelena?"
"I mean I don't know, but your wife was stuck to this peach dress that was just hideous and she found a matching hat for me to wear! A hat and a dress in peach color!"
"Okay, Zelena, calm down." David said and went closer to her. "If you lose it, Regina's gonna lose it, if Regina loses it then this wedding is doomed to never happen."
"I am calm, dammit!" Zelena snapped. "Sorry, just go and get the kids ready, the ceremony is about to start, I'll be fine." David gave her a quick hug and then went to do as he was told, Zelena and him had some sort of special friendship, it was a shock for David to find out who she really was and it took him some time to accept it, but they were fine.
First, Lily and Roland walked down the aisle together, Roland had a tuxedo on even though Regina said he didn't have to wear it, then Rumple and Belle, then Neal with David and Snow, then Emma. Zelena took a deep breath before she too started to walk down the aisle, she stopped somewhere on the middle when she noticed a half of the room glaring at her, her confidence fell a bit and she didn't move any farther. David, noticing her behavior, stood up from his seat and went to her, he took her hand and he tried to get her to move, but he failed.
"Come on, you have to move, Regina is about to enter."
"David, they all hate me, half of these people don't want me here, hell, even the groom has a secret desire to kill me." She moved her hand from his grasp and instead of going where she was supposed to she went to the seat where Rumple and Belle sat. "Send me back to the mansion."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, she will be happier if I'm not here today."
"That's not true." Rumple commented but still waved his hand and the smoke rounded her.
'Here Comes The Bride' started to play on the piano and everyone stood up from their seats, the door opened and Regina and Henry entered, both smiling widely. Regina looked around the room and smiled wider when she noticed Robin waiting for her, her smile flattered a little when she noticed both concerned and nervous faces of David, Belle and Rumple, seeing also a few concerned faces she started to worry. Something was missing, but then when she didn't see her sister waiting where she was supposed to, she realized that it wasn't something, it was someone that was missing.
"Zelena. Where is Zelena?" She asked Henry quietly.
"I don't know, mom. She walked down before us. I'm sure that if something happened someone would of have told you."
"Hmm, I guess you're right." Regina said and they finished their walk. She smiled wider again when Robin took her hand.
"You look beautiful." Robin commented when she was close enough to hear.
Regina wore a simple but elegant floor length wedding dress that was dirty white with a black stripes around her waist. Her hair was down in curls reaching just a little above her waist.
"Thank you." Regina said and turned to Granny who was supposed to officiate the wedding. "Can we begin?"
"Before we start you need a maid of honor."
"What? Why? What happened to Zelena?" She asked starting to panic, both Robin and Granny were silent not knowing how to put it.
"David?" She turned to the one person that she was sure would tell her.
"Even before she walked out, she was freaking out, I tried to calm her down and she wanted to be left alone. Then, she started to walk down the aisle and she seemed fine, but she stopped somewhere at the middle and said that half of these people are glaring and wanting to kill her and she assumed that everyone would be happier if she left, so she asked Rumplestilstkin to send her back to the mansion." David explained, trying to seem calm but he was sure she notice that he was anything but calm.
"And none of you thought to go after her?" Regina asked in disbelief.
"I meant to, but you were supposed to walk in any second then." David explained once again.
"I know that none of you like her." Now, she was talking to all of the people there. "Including you, Robin. But, she is my sister, she was the only family I had for so long, she was there for me when I was alone and scared and pregnant, she never missed a thing in Lily's life, I'm not asking you to hug her when you meet her or love her I'm just asking you to try not to be filled hate when you see her, not to glare at her or say sharp remarks as she's passing by, I'm asking you not to treat her the way you treated me." Regina finished and took a deep breath and then turned to Granny. "I don't need another maid of honor, I'm bringing Zelena back." Regina said and disappeared in a cloud of light purple smoke.
"What the…?" Zelena asked as she looked around, she knew that she was in the mansion because she could see Regina's apple tree from the window. There were door on her left and another one on her right, she had never been in that part of the mansion. She opened the door on her right and it led to the kitchen she closed that door and opened the other one and there found white marble stairs that led under the mansion as she didn't have anything else to do that day she went downstairs. There she found no walls, no more rooms, it was just one and it went all the way under the mansion, the floor was also made from white marble and it was obvious that Regina spent more money and more of her time on that basement then on her house.
At first, she passed by dozens and dozens of boxes all marked with Henry or 'Don't open', usually things that are marked don't open or don't touch got her attention and she'd usually open it, but that time she just passed it wanting to see the rest of it, then for a while there was nothing, but then a grand concert piano came into her view as she went closer to the piano she noticed a few instruments on the wall, she didn't pay attention to anything else but the piano. It was black and it looked like it had never been played and like it was pleading her to go sit and start to play. Ever since she was a little girl she had played a piano only it wasn't big nor like the one in front of her, it wasn't like the ones that they played at castles for royals, it was smaller and much less beautiful and she made it with her magic so she knew that the notes and sounds were all right, once she got older she'd manage to find and to play on the ones like the one in front of her, but after that she was so consumed with revenge and envy that she forgot about playing.
She sat on the chair that was in front of it and first she played a simple short piece just to see if she still knew what she was doing, once she played that one, she started to play more complicated ones.
"Zelena!" Regina called once she entered the living room, Zelena didn't answer her but she thought she heard something coming from the kitchen, she went to the kitchen and heard a beautiful melody, at first she was confused at where it was coming from but then she remembered the basement. She went in and it took her a lot less time than Zelena to find the piano. She observed as Zelena played, her fingers were moving gracefully and fast, it was obvious to Regina that whatever she played was difficult but she didn't hear any mistakes from Zelena's side, she hit every note right. Regina didn't want to interrupt so she waited until Zelena was done.
"I didn't know you could play."
"Yeah, it has been too long since the last time I played. Speaking of which, I didn't know you could play either."
"Oh, I can't." Regina said and at the confused look on Zelena's face, she felt like further explanation was needed. "My father loved music and when I'd ask him why he played so much he said that it was because music was his true passion, when he'd play he'd forget everything around him and just enjoy the music he was making. That's why there is so many instruments here, when I… when I killed him, I needed to have something that was his, just his, that couldn't be destroyed, so to speak, by magic. My mother never understood his passion about it and I think it was because she didn't have that, something to make her forget, something special and pure, for me it's riding."
"He was right, when I'd play, it'd make me forget what was happening, it'd make me forget that my father was a drunk and that my mom was gone, when I'd play, it would be just me and music and nothing else would matter." She stopped and then as if remembering what day it was, she eyed Regina's dress and asked. "Why are you here? You are getting married, woman! Come on, shoo to your wedding!"
"We really need to work on that shoo thing. I want you there, you're wrong, I would be happier if you are there."
"But, Regina, over three quarters of your guest list hates me." Zelena commented.
"They are not my family, you are. Yes, we have tried to kill each other but that's what makes us siblings and a family."
"How'd you figure?"
"Well, the whole point of family is to and to know that no matter what, most of the time they got your back, family fights and teases but they are still your family." Zelena thought about it for a few moments and then she stood up. "Come on, we have a wedding to get to." Regina took her hand and teleported them back to her wedding.
"Sorry for the delay." Regina said and then turned to Robin. "Let's get married." Robin nodded and went to kiss her but Granny stopped him.
"No kissing until I pronounce you husband and wife."
Zelena sat on the seat next to David and took Lily in her lap.
"Are you okay?" David asked her concerned.
"Yes… And, David? Thank you." She added sincerely.
"That's what friends are for." David said and tried to hug her with one arm. "You're missing the most important part." Snow said from the seat next to David. Zelena and David focused on the ceremony once again.
"Do you, Regina Mills, take Robin Hood of Locksey to be your lawfully wedded husband?" Everyone smiled at the 'Robin Hood of Locksey', because Robin was of Locksey but everyone called him Robin Hood.
Regina pretented to think about it and then answered "I do."
"And do you, Robin Hood of Locksey, take Regina Mills to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
"I do."
"Then by the power invented in me by the internet… and the mayor… and the queen, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Now, you can kiss her." Granny said and Robin didn't need to be told twice, he pulled Regina close and kissed her.
Cheers and applauses were heard from the crowd and the two parted. "Congratulations, Mrs. Hood of Locksey."
"In your dreams, darling. I'm still a Mills, only Mrs. Mills now." Regina answered even thou she knew he knew that.
"Hello, hi there, I'd like to make a toast." Zelena said and cleared her throat getting everyone's attention. "First, I'd like to notify Regina that there is a high chance of me moving in her basement unless she lets me bring the piano with me." Regina, being the only one who knew what she was talking about, smiled brightly.
"You can have it." Regina added.
"Seriously?! I was kidding… but really?"
"You can actually do something with it, if it stays there it'll stay there and no one will touch it until you come again. I'll use magic to send it to ou… your place."
"Okay, then, as my sisterly duty states, Robin, if you hurt her, I swear in front of all of these witnesses, I will hunt you down till the end of the world and then let you feel pain you never even thought was possible." After her words silence fell because everyone knew that she was not kidding, Robin gulped and nodded. "And, now, on the bright side, I need another niece or nephew or both to spoil."
"You just might get that for six months or so."
"I knew something was different! Well, it did take you two years of engagement to get wed, so I'm glad you didn't wait another two to be pregnant again." Zelena said with a wide smile, it really was the day filled with beautiful things!
The End.
