I've been seeing a lot of scandal fanfic writers do this and I might as well wrap it up too. At least for now. I know it's been probably like a year since I updated this story. I was working on chapter 16 and then just stopped. I'm honestly not really feeling it or the show too much right now. I don't want to say I'm over it but I'm just no longer excited. Anyone who even remembers this story knows that I have a taste for darker themes and my story was full of them. With everything going on with the show, it just made my writing even more twisted which isn't right. My version of Fitz was getting mean and moody again for what Liv on the show was doing even though I was trying my hardest to write him nicer if that makes any sense. It probably doesn't(I have an extremely lucid and active imagination). Feelings from the show were starting to carry over into my fictional story which made Fitz look completely irrational. Anyways.

I'm sure people need a reminder of what this story was about. RECAP: This was the story I wrote where Liv had disappeared after season 3 for 3 months. Fitz had Tom and Hal go take Liv from Jake in St. Lucia. He got her back and everything was good until some secrets came out. Fitz went effin nuts and almost raped Liv but he stopped when Liv finally admitted the vicious abuse she suffered in her 3 months with Jake on the island(Jake was sexually and physically abusing her there). Fitz wanted to fix everything and right his wrong so he ended up giving her too much oxy. After killing Jake, Fitz went back and saw that Liv had overdosed. They broke up while Liv was in the hospital but months later they worked it out and started living together pretty much while working on Fitz and Mellies divorce proceedings. Liv was still traumatized from everything with both him and Jake and Fitz got her professional help for nightmares, flashbacks and a secret eating disorder. Liv and Teddy became close and he started calling her "Mommy". Fitz got full custody of Teddy and family life was so good that Fitz begged Liv to stay off birth control. She told Fitz she would but lied and got birth control anyway. Fitz went ballistic and they had an epic fight in The Oval where Fitz guilted her into removing the IUD she snuck in lol(Idk why but it's so strange saying somebody snuck an IUD in). Again they made up and at the end of chap 15, they found out Fitz divorce was final. This is how far I got with chapter 16.

CHAPTER 16

Fitz divorce had been final for nearly a month. It hasn't been spoken about since. He figured he'd take Olivia's lead but there was no lead to take. She hadn't brought it up in the slightest bit. He tried a couple times to bring it up, but they'd just get side tracked. He assumed that the divorce being final meant that she would finally relax some, that they could leave Blair house and live together in the White House, that they could be open with their love for one another and more importantly, get married. Fitz had been paying very close attention to Olivia, making sure she was ok and what not.

She seemed fine but with her, you never really know sometimes. She tells you she's fine when she's far from it.

On this day, Fitz managed to talk Olivia into working out with him in the Whitehouse gym. He didn't really expect her to do much working out, he mostly wanted her there for her company. After Fitz was done working out, he laid Olivia down on a mat. She was on her back in shorts and a sports bra. Fitz was shirtless, kneeling between her thighs, stretching out her legs and thighs for her. It was a sensual scene, but he really was just stretching her out. Olivia's eyes would squint just a tiny bit from Fitz going a little too far.

"Ow Fitz." Olivia raised her hands to Fitz chest, giving him a little resistance "Not too much. I'm not a gymnast."

"Move." Fitz removed her hand and placed it back to her side "So tense, so tight. You seem a lot more limber but I guess you aren't."

"No." Olivia arched her back "I'm not."

"You will be." Fitz put her right leg down and lifted the left one "I'll help you."

Fitz began rubbing her thigh "It'll get easier. Just try and relax."

"Whatever you say."

Fitz hoped she would relax. He wanted her to be. He was about to ask her about the next step they should be taking.

"How you doin Livie?" Fitz asked her.

"I'm good."

"No." Fitz felt the need to clarify "Really. How is Olivia doing?"

Fitz made it a point to really see how Olivia was feeling every month or so. Mainly mentally and emotionally. He always paid attention to her habits to make sure she had been sleeping and eating properly seeing as how these had been major issues with her before. He didn't want any setbacks for her so he checked in with her every now and then. Olivia actually was better than she had been in a long time. Life had been good.

"Really." Olivia smiled "I'm good. I couldn't be better. How is Fitzgerald?"

"Oh God." Fitz shuddered "Please. Don't ever call me that."

Fitzgerald is what Mellie used to annoyingly call him.

"But to answer your question, I'm wonderful."

"Good. I'm glad."

"Liv," Fitz continued massaging Olivia's thigh "My divorce has been final for a month."

"I'm aware." Olivia responded nonchalantly.

Fitz was hoping she would say more but she didn't. He continued "Then you're also aware that I'm ready to marry you."

Olivia was aware. Very aware. She wanted to be with Fitz. She was with Fitz. She just really didn't want to be the First Lady. If she became the First Lady, she knew she'd have to stop working. The media attention would be horrid. She didn't want that label put on her anymore than it already had. Fitz only had a little over a year left in the oval. She had been hoping that they could wait until his term was over. Being together, married, and having kids was something Fitz had thought about and planned since the moment he met Olivia. It became his goal, his endgame. He was determined. Olivia on the other hand was a completely different story. A life with Fitz had always just been a fantasy for her. She honestly never thought it would happen. It was taking her some time for her mind and emotions to catch up with her new reality.

"I know."

Olivia was giving him nothing. Fitz figured he should try a different approach.

"Aren't you ready to adopt Teddy?" Fitz asked her "Aren't you ready to officially make him yours? He loves you."

"I love him too." Olivia had become quite attached to Teddy, "Teddy has changed my life."

Fitz sighed "I'm not saying we need to get married today but I at least want to make sure we both know that's next. It is next isn't it?"

Olivia started rubbing his forearm to keep him from getting upset "It is next."

"Then what's the problem?"

Fitz was clearly frustrated.

Olivia looked to her left then her right, arched her back to double check the entrance.

She reached up to put her hand around his neck to gently pull him down but was met with resistance.

Fitz was used to this. Whenever he would try to have a serious talk with her, she'd distract him some how.

Olivia cocked her head to the side "Come here Fitz."

She motioned for him again. This time he relented. He gently lowered himself on top of her, resting his body between her thighs. Olivia couldn't help but notice that Fitz was looking everywhere but her eyes.

"Hey." Olivia said softly and sweetly as she caressed his cheek.

Their eyes met.

"There you are." Olivia smiled.

Fitz stared into her eyes, hoping he wouldn't get lost.

Olivia spoke "There is no problem. You have me. We have each other. For the rest of our lives. We don't need to rush."

Fitz took one of her hands in his. It was the hand she wore his ring on. He looked at the ring and slowly spun it around her index finger. Fitz looked from the ring to Olivia, then back to the ring. He started pulling it off.

"Wait." Olivia clinched her hand to stop him "What are you doing?"

Fitz never thought about a proposal because he knew from the second he met her that she would one day be his wife. He felt like they were already engaged but in actuality, he had never asked her. Just assumed.

"Nothing." Fitz let her know.

Olivia had been wearing that ring everyday for many years. She never took it off. She didn't realize how attached she was to it until just now when she was being asked to take it off. Another thought suddenly crossed her mind. What if he was tired of waiting? What if he felt like she didn't deserve it? Worse, what if she didn't get back?

"I-, I've never taken it off." She revealed "I'll feel weird without it. Are you taking it from me?"

Fitz saw how genuinely worried she was. He didn't want her to be panicked or stressed in anyway.

"Of course not." Fitz reassured her "It's yours. I'm just borrowing it."

"Ok."

Olivia let Fitz take the ring off her finger. Once Fitz had the ring, he got up. He then held his hand down to help Olivia up. Olivia took his hand and stood to her feet.

"Cmon." Fitz turned her around and guided her towards the exit.

He pulled her close before reaching the door "It's bath time you dirty girl."

Olivia smiled. Fitz kissed her head, slapped her ass and they both walked out.

That's as far as I got with this chapter when I was still writing it forever ago. The conclusion was coming soon anyway for this story. They were going to come out openly, finally start planning their wedding. Olivia was going to find out she's pregnant right before the wedding and spaz out on Fitz. Then I was going to end it and work on the sequel. If I ever find inspiration for this particular story again, I'll republish it with everything all together. Again, I'm really sorry for those who actually liked the story(some readers thought it was too much anguish). I absolutely loved writing it...I'm going to see if I can at least get back into my TERRY fic. I started this story before Liv was Liv-knapped on the show. And since I do loooove dark and twisty, I may try to start a short story about her kidnapping and how things really would have went down instead of that unrealistic and farfetched scenario that happened on the show. In real life, kidnapped female prisoners of war have a much different and horrific fate then Liv LUCKILY DID. Things should have been a lot worse for Helen of Troy lol. Uh oh. I feel it already lol. My wheels are turning
