Author's Note: I was thinking that I should leave that last update as the ending, because its basically finished and if I keep writing it'll drag on and get boring and pointless. I mean, I could write little one-shots every once in a while (though it isn't promised) to go with this FF. But I know I probably left a few questions for you guys to think about, maybe some I didn't even mean to leave open. So if you have a question, ask it. I'll do my best to answer them with writing.
This is the first one-shot 'bout Lissa and her telling her parents she is pregnant… It's in Lissa's POV.
Telling the 'rents
It is now well into winter break and I still have not told my parents about my pregnancy. Jill every occasionally would give me this look, meaning me to tell them. However, it never seemed like a good time. I knew I couldn't hold off until the next time they see me, which would be for Andre's graduation. I would be showing too much and the rumors would get to them first. I knew it would be better to tell them than let them find out through the rumors.
I didn't know what I was so afraid of. Rose said I could always live with her if my parents do not approve and kick me out. I did not know if Michael has already told his parents, which I hope he had not yet. Because then his parents would call mine, and I wasn't sure I was ready for them to know. Even though I knew, they deserved to. Tomorrow was Christmas and Rose, Michael, Christian, Eddie, Mia, and Mason was coming over. Maybe I could get the strength from them to tell my parents because they would be here supporting me.
I was so nervous, though. But I knew my parents were has understanding as Rose's dad was. Even though, I was pretty sure Mr. Mazur would kill any boy that had gotten her pregnant. He would want to be part of the child's life and help her. I was pretty sure my parents would want that too, but I wasn't so sure. I wasn't their only daughter anymore and they would want to set an example for Jill. Andre was a Momma's boy, and practically got away with anything because of it. And that he would take over my dad's work when it was time. But Andre, was Andre and I knew he would know better than get a girl pregnant before either of them was ready.
I knew none of us were saints. We didn't follow my parent's rule 'No sex before marriage,' but I knew Andre and Jill were smart enough not to get in my position. Jill and I even had a heart to heart a couple days ago.
"Lissa, Can I talk to you?" Jill's unsure voice came through my door.
"Yeah, come in." I was lying on my bed, rubbing my stomach.
"What are you thinking?" Jill asked gently, sitting at my desk.
"About the baby."
"Oh? What are you hoping it is?" I thought about it. I've had random dreams about the baby. Many of them had a boy, one had a girl. Somehow I knew it would be a boy, or at least I hoped it was.
"A boy with my blond hair and Michael's eyes and nose." I looked over at Jill, she was smiling.
"If I am being too nosey, tell me. But how, how did this happen? I mean if you were safe."
"I guess the condom broke."
"You weren't on birth control?" I turned to her puzzled.
"I couldn't pull off taking that every day. Mom's too nosey." Which was true. Mom wanted to know everything we were taking, eating, dressing like and had people watch us. Even when we were at school, nobody could give or do anything with us unless they had her expressed premisson.
"Yes, but if I pull it off, and have since Eddie and I decided to take that step. You could've."
"Yes, but you started dating Eddie when you live with your birth mom. You could've made up some lie about it help regulating your period or someone."
"True. But Eddie and I decided to be… together only about a year ago. I've gotten birth control before we even… though."
"Oh." I mumbled. "Oh'd you pull it off?"
"Went to the local Plan Parenthood."
"That was smart."
Jill nods, and comes to sit by me on the bed. "I am pretty sure if I was in your position, Rhea and dad wouldn't think twice about kicking me out. But then again, I haven't been together with Eddie as long as you and Michael have been. Maybe they'll be mad, want you to leave for a while so they can think. Then want you back, your too 'daddy's girl.' Not to be brought back. Though, I am pretty sure Dad wouldn't think twice about having Michael roughen up some."
"Oh, great another thing to worry about." Jill chuckled.
"Well, I think he's better off, than Christian would be if he gotten Rose pregnant." She had a point.
"Mr. Mazur would probably bring him to the brink of death, just to make sure he understood the responsibly but because he would need Christian alive for the baby would be Christian's only outlet off not dying." Jill pointed out again.
We laughed harder at how protective Mr. Mazur was of his daughter.
Coming out of the flash back, I wondered if Christian had even met Mr. Mazur yet.
…
Christmas morning. I was nervous, I knew my friends would be here soon and I was terrified. I already had my dress on. It was flowly and Hot Pink, the shoes I was going to wear with them were grey boot heels. Now I was slowly working on my hair and adding a little bit of make-up. A knock on the door, break me out of staring at myself. I realized that I was doing, have my mascara just hover while I did. Shaking my head I answered my bedroom door. Michael, Mason, Mia, and Jill were at it.
"Rose said they should be here soon." Jill left, I guessing to finish getting dress. She only had her dress on, which was flowly like mine, but hers had a white top with a flower pattern bottom. The three of them walked in, Michael kissed my forehead and then sat on my bed with Mia and Mason.
"I am assuming with the lack of hatred and disappointment in your parents eyes, you haven't told them." Michael said gently. I shook my head.
"I was going to tell them today… I- I couldn't bring it up by myself." I told him. He nods, and leans back on the bed.
"Well we're here for you." Mia said, walking over to me. "Want me to take over?" She motioned over to my make-up. I gave her a grateful look as she started to work. I looked over what she was wearing. Her dress was sleeveless, and it had about four different colors; Pinkish-orange, black, white, and teal, all stripped across her body. Surprisingly it actually worked with her skin tone. Her hair pulled back off her shoulders, though, and she was wearing black heeled boots.
Jill showed up moments later fully dressed, with Rose, Christian, and Eddie. Rose had picked a purple sleeveless dress with black heeled boots as well. Her hair was straight on her shoulders. She smiled at me and joined everyone else on the bed. Christian just followed her, like a little lap dog. They were holding hands, so that was probably it, she was dragging him with her.
I looked over at Jill, the only difference she had than before was that she had leather brown boots on. Somehow, without talking to each other, we all picked almost the same type of outfit.
"How was the ride over here?" Mason questioned Christian.
"Interesting."
"Being around Rose's dad can do that." Michael nods his head in agreement.
"Has he… always been so… uh?"
"Imitating? Yes." Eddie commented.
"My dad is not imitating." Rose defended.
"To you. But your dad is very protective. Hell I think, just being friends with you he has given me the 'don't hurt Rose or I hurt you,' speech at least twice." Eddie told us.
"At least you got hurt, I get killed." Christian joked, or maybe not. You never know about with Mr. Mazur. Rose pouted, but then sighed.
"Okay. Maybe my dad gets a little too protective."
"Little?" Mason questioned.
"Okay. A lot, but he means well. And he likes all of you."
"No. He likes them. Hates me. I'm the one dating his only daughter. Who is the biggest Daddy's Girl there is."
"I am not, a Daddy's Girl."
"Face it Rose. You have your dad wrapped around your finger so tightly that I am pretty sure if you asked him to give you your own house right here right now he would." Michael claimed.
"I highly dought that, since he gives me an allowance and if I go overboard he won't give me more."
"Finished." Mia randomly exclaimed, placing the eyeliner down. I thanked her and walked over to my closet.
"Any way it goes. Let's be happy it's not Rose that's pregnant." Jill commented, I could almost see the smile in her voice as I put on my shoes. Mummers of agreement came from everyone but Christian and Rose. Rose had huffed, but Christian remained silent. When I entered the room again he looked panic.
"Why?" He decided to question.
"Let's say he'll beat you so badly you'll want to die. But he'll never cross that line because you have to take care of his grandchild."
"Oh, great." Christian joked, shaking his head. "Thank god. We haven't taken that step, Rose. Because I don't think I can handle having your dad on my back that much yet." Rose giggled and kissed his cheek.
"Which is why, my dad said I was getting on birth control when I told him I was dating my Pyro." Apparently she was that close to her father, she told him everything. I wished I had that with mine.
Andre poked his head in, without knocking. "The 'rents say to come down and socialize." I knew Mr. Mazur and Michael's parents were here, but I became very nervous. Apparently, it showed on my face.
"We'll be down in a moment." Jill told him. Once she shut the door Rose turned to me.
"Look, whenever you decided to come out with it give us a signal and we'll back you up. But you get to decided, as long as it before everyone leaves." I nod, and took a deep breath.
"Okay lets go."
…
It was after dinner, and I still haven't said anything. We were now opening gifts, some were last minute gifts. Like Christian's, because we didn't know Rose had invited him, until about three days ago. I was sitting between Rose and Michael, my knee bouncing, because I couldn't get it to stop. Mom was the one passing out gifts, and we were done two the last round from everyone.
I couldn't help but blurted out, "I have something important to tell you guys."
Rose and Michael turned to me puzzled, because I had spoken so loud but nod accepting that this was when I wanted to tell them. But I also couldn't help it, it was eating me alive the longer I waited the night. Mom placed down the last present and gave me her full attention, along with everyone else.
I could feel Michael's hand slip into mine, letting me know we were in this together. I looked at Rose then Michael, both giving me encouraging looks.
"Mom…Dad… I um… that is… um… god this is hard." I mumbled towards the end. I looked towards Michael for help.
"Mr. and Mrs. Dragomir…" He said slowly. "I think what… Lissa, wants to tell you… is that… she is pregnant?" He ended it with a question, which would've been better that what I would've probably ended it with. Shock over came their features, along with Michael's parents. Silence filled the room, the teenagers anxiously waiting for Michael's and my parent's responses.
"Michael Adam McCane!" His mother yelled, making him flinch. "I am disappointed in you."
Michael hunched over, almost like he deflated.
"Vasilisa, please tell me this is just some sick joke." My mother said calmly, almost too calm. I sadly shook my head. My mother stood up straighter, straighten her shirt. "Your father and I need to talk." She turned to our guest. "Please give us a moment."
My father followed her out the room, while Michael's parents, glared at their son. As I looked at his parents, I could tell what Michael got from which parent. Michael had his father's Dark Brown hair and facial shape, while he had his mother's eyes. His mother had blond hair and was very lean. His father had blue eyes and muscular, he never let us forget how he played football through his pre-teens into adult hood and occasionally played it with his friends.
My parents walked back into the room. "What do you plan on doing with this child?" That's a good sign, they said child, I reasoned in my head.
"We're keeping it." Mom looked between Michael and I, when I said we. Nodding slowly, she turned to my father. Who stepped up.
"We believe you two got yourselves into this. I do not know about Mr. and Mrs. McCane, but Vasilisa as of today, you're not living under this roof. We need to set an example for Jill. You are not to get awarded but not fully punished. We do want to be in this child's life, though."
It sunk in. They're kicking me out. I put my head down, feeling the tears coming. I slowly nod. Michael's parents stood up.
"You know what? We agree with Mr. Dragomir. Michael, you no longer live under our roof. You can get your things in the morning; leave your keys when you do." With that they collected their things and left. Michael took a deep breath, accepting what his parents said. We knew this was an outcome, but we did not expect that they'll want to be a part of our child's life.
"Well." Mr. Mazur said, standing up. "Since I am the only ride left. Eric, could we use your son and your son's car to help get these kids to my place? Rose and I can take them home tomorrow."
"Certainly. Andre. Get your car." Andre nods, standing up. I took that as my que to go get some stuff packed.
"We'll be back later to get some more of her stuff, Eric." I walked into the hallway, but hearing voices I stopped and listened.
"Thank you. Ibraham. Rhea," My dad sighed. "Is over reacting. But I see her point."
"Lissa will be fine living with me for a while. Michael sadly, I will not and cannot house."
"You knew?" Dad's voice was hesitant, unsure.
"Rose wanted my permission, if this happened. Michael will be living down the street with Eddie, though. So he's close but not too close." I can almost see my dad nod his head.
"Hopefully, Rhea will snap out of it."
"Time will tell, dear friend." I could hear their footsteps as they walked away. I counted to ten then followed. The car ride home was a silent one, everyone was too lost in their own thoughts too say anything. It took about thirty minutes before we got to the Mazur house. Rose showed everyone to their rooms. Christian and Michael in one, Jill- who wanted to come- and Mia in another, Mason and Eddie, then Rose and I. It was only for tonight, and I was happy that I had someone with me, because I couldn't help but start crying.
Rose hugged me, comforting me when Michael couldn't. I fell asleep crying, though, because I wouldn't calm down.
