Chapter Three: The Rescue, the Crew, and the Vortex

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, The Ghost Adventures Crew, or Poltergeist

Third chapter and you're still here, well now that I know you're staying, I can give you info on every chapter. He-he, so now comes the two chapters where everything matters, this is where it is most important, kind of like when Voldemort killed Harry's mother and ended up splitting his soul and latched itself to the only living thing it could find, Harry himself, but we didn't figure that out until the last book.

Anyway, overall this is the part where you need to understand the most, so if you get confused you probably will want to reread the paragraph again and don't worry, there will be more questions after this chapter. And I'll even stop with the talking at the beginning of the chapters from here until the end of the book, you didn't think I wouldn't say something at the end of my story would ya?

Over the next few days Harry and Ginny were in a frenzy. When they asked for help they were just laughed at, so no one was helping them just because they didn't believe their story. The Weaslys were the only ones, besides Harry and Ginny, who believed Al was missing and was looking for him, but however, they didn't believe that Al was taken by some strange force. Bill had gone around town looking for Al. He even put a missing sign in Diagon Alley and all over the muggle streets.

Harry was thankful that Bill was concerned for Al's well-being but he was frustrated because he was wasting his time. But on top of that there was something strange going on in the Potter house since Al disappeared. Things moving by themselves, lights flickering on and off, and a presence in Al's room that not even Hermione could explain "Though I'm not a believer in the paranormal." Hermione said one day while she, Harry and Ron were in the Potter's parlor room "I have to admit there's something weird going on." Hermione finished "But I highly doubt that it has something to do with Al's disappearance." Hermione said quickly

Harry sighed as he looked angry "Hermione, how many times do I have to tell you, Al was taken somewhere that no one alive understands or will ever understand." Harry said to her "Harry, I know you're worried about Al but….." Hermione began but was rudely interrupted by Ron "Hermione, you weren't there, who knows what could've happened." Ron said "No I do not know what happened, but I do know there is no way Al could've been taken by some unseen force." Said Hermione "Hermione tell me this, when has there ever been a problem like this?" Harry asked

"Sirius could've dealt with it." Hermione explained "Really? Because the only thing that I heard him complained about this house was his mother's portrait and Kreacher." Harry said "Why should he have to tell you about this stuff?" Hermione asked "Why do you think? You've gotta look at the facts Hermione!" Harry argued

"What facts?" Hermione argued back "Um, the fact that Ginny and I never had a problem until now, and the fact that we were in this house since we were 15 and the only thing that was moving was ourselves and us using magic." Harry explained but no matter what he said to Hermione or anyone else outside the Potter house, they all agreed that Al was still in the physical world hopefully still alive. By the second week Harry was so lost and confused that he started not sleeping at night, trying to find a way to bring Al back home. But no one was helping him and those who were helping was looking in the wrong places. Harry was so stressed and worried that it started affecting things at work.

It was one simple question that was asked by Alivia his secretary, that made Harry snap, usually he never raised his voice in the office. But that day when he shouted at Alivia, everyone, including Kingsley knew that something was wrong. By the time the second week was over, Harry's throat was raw from yelling so much. He had to work over time because he was the only one working on the paper work, he rubbed his face in stress, anger, fear, and depression. He didn't know what came over him when he snapped at Alivia, he just lost control of his emotions and took it out on a good employee and friend.

Harry groaned in frustration as Kingsley came walking in. Harry saw him walk in but ignore him and continued working "So I heard you've been having a stressful week." Kingsley said but received no response from Harry as he worked "Are you going to tell me what this is all about?" Kingsley asked Harry sighed as he sat his quill down and look at Kingsley straight in the face "You're not going to believe me if I tell you sir." Harry said "Well, Hermione told me that Al had gone missing, and you think he was taken by something unreal." Kingsley told him as Harry's stomach dropped

"But she didn't tell me what that unreal thing was; Harry, I want to know what's going on, I want to be of help to you in any way I can." Kingsley said as Harry looked at him, the next thing Harry knew he was telling him all that had happened the night Al disappeared. He told about the Lethifold almost eating James. What Al said before he disappeared, how they looked for them all over the house and couldn't find him. What happen after he ran upstairs to find out why James was screaming.

Down to the very last detail "James tried to tell me where Al's voice was coming from but he was too scared to spill it out." Harry told him "I figured out myself where it was coming from as Ginny walked, but I couldn't find words to tell her it was coming….coming from the radio." Harry said and looked at Kingsley he waited for him to scoff, laugh, even a head shake but nothing came Kingsley didn't even say a word "I know all of this sounds crazy…" Harry started before Kingsley said "This is your belief, I cannot change that, if you say this happened then I believe you." Harry's heart lifted a little, for the first time, someone actually believe what he said.

The next thing that came out of Harry's mouth was just out of desperation. "Can you help me?" He asked only he knew that he was wasting his breath, Kingsley wouldn't know about these type of things "I'm sorry Harry, as much as I want to help you, I cannot. I don't know what I'm dealing with, if I went into your house right now I could be walking in blind and that can be dangerous." Kingsley said Harry nodded as his heart dropped even further, he knew it was stupid to even ask but it just slipped making its own sound.

"However." Kingsley began making Harry look at him with confusion "I can send a message to other ministers of magic asking them if they know anybody that is willing to help you." Kingsley said for the first time in two weeks Harry's heart filled with hope "Can you do that?" Harry asked not believing that Al would be back home "Yes I can do that." He responded Harry smiled for the first time in weeks then got up and shook Kingsley's hand "Thank you." He said Kingsley nodded and left the room

That night Ron and Hermione was in Harry's parlor room. He didn't wait to send them a message when he got home "I'm still a little shock." Ron said after Harry explained that Kingsley was going to help him find someone that could rescue Al "That he doesn't think you're crazy." Ron finished "So are you saying you believe me?" Harry asked "Well I wasn't there when it happened so I can't say I believe you but I can't say I don't believe you either." Ron said as Harry gave him a look

"But why is he helping?" Hermione said loudly Ron and Harry both jerked their heads towards Hermione looked clueless "What are you talking about?" Ron asked "Why is Kingsley helping you?" Hermione asked Harry "Kingsley said he didn't care what I believed in." Harry told her "He's got to be a believer that has to be why he's helping." Hermione said

"Or he's like me who believes there's something out there but is not sure it actual people who have died in the past or demons tricking us." Ron said "Or, hmm, gee, I don't know maybe he saw how worried I was about Albus." Harry said loudly "Please, if he didn't believe your story he would've laughed at your face anyone who doesn't believe in the paranormal would've laughed in your face." Hermione said "But yet you didn't." Ron said

"Of course not, other people will think that Al is alright but we know that he's actually missing. Plus, I'm worried sick about Al as much as Ginny and Harry are." Hermione explained "So what's you're logic for their story about Al being taken by a ghost?" Ron asked "Well I think Ginny and Harry are just in too much shock that they want to believe that Al in safe in a different realm." Hermione explained at that point Harry looked towards the fire in the fireplace and bit his tounge to make him stop from bursting out what he wanted to say.

Even though he trusted Ron and Hermione with his life, he however didn't not them with the fact that he heard Al's voice coming from the radio. He was already labeled in shock from Hermione. He knew if he told them it would label him even crazier, and take him somewhere, probably St. Mungo's. If that happened then he would never see James or Lily again and Al would be stuck in that place, where ever he was, forever. Harry heard Hermione sigh as she gently placed a hand on his shoulder "Harry." She said as he turned and looked at her

"I know you're going through a huge shock right now and I know you don't want to believe that Al was taken from you when you weren't looking. But, you have to come to your senses sometime." She said Harry just ignored her and didn't say a word and looked back at the fire. He then got up and walked away leaving his two best friends confused. "I'm sorry you two but I can't leave my family." Harry said to himself

Seconds turned into minutes, minutes turned into hours, hours turned into days, then one week after Harry had told Kingsley, he got a response. He was in his home office when an owl swooped in and dropped the letter on his desk. Frantically, he opened the letter and read it.

Harry,

I've got a response, they've just arrived and is here in my office

They want to talk to you before they investigate, be here ASAP.

Kingsley

Harry bolted from his desk chair and walked to the coat hooks by the front door to grab his coat. Ginny, seeing Harry in a rush, was confused "What are you doing?" She asked him as he got his coat on "Kingsley sent me a note, he's got a response from the letter." Harry said "Well it's about time someone answered, we've been scared out of our minds these past couple of days." Ginny said "Yeah well they want to talk to me before they come here so I'm meeting them at Kingsley's office." Harry said as he stuck his wand in his pocket

"Ok, I'll see you later." Ginny said as Harry gave her a kiss, Lily then came up to Harry with her blanket "You go bye-bye?" She asked him in her two year old voice, Harry smiled at her and picked her up "I won't be long I'm coming right back." He said "K." She responded "Give me a kiss?" He asked and she pecked him on the lips

"Alright you be good for Mummy ok?" He said as he put her down "K, bye-bye Dada." Lily said as she walked towards her Mother. Ginny picked her up and looked at Harry, "I'll see you." He said to the both of them and shut the door behind him, Ginny breathed in through her nose and out as her eyes were closed and said "Please dear God, let Albus be ok." She said as a tear streamed down her cheek

Harry was in the Minister of Magic entrance, which was flooded with witches, wizards, and creatures alike. Trying to be patient with crowd, Harry walked as fast as he could to Kingsley's office. After several minutes Harry boarded the elevator and waited but he was also getting agitated. Once the door closed the elevator moved, finally the elevator ding and said "Department of Ministries." Harry quickly got off and ran towards the end of a never ending corridor of hallways.

There he saw Kinsley standing outside of his office and walked up toward him. Hearing the sound of footsteps Kingsley towards the sound and saw Harry "Ah, you got my message Harry." He said "I came as quickly as I could, are they here?" Harry asked "Yes they're in my office waiting to ask you some questions, Follow me if you will." Kingsley said as he opened the door, there, sitting on chairs was three men.

The first man in the chair apparently heard the door opening because he turned around and saw Harry. Smiling, he got up and walked towards Harry grabbing the other men their attention. They turned around but did not get up to join the first man, he took Harry's hand and shook it "Hi you must be Harry Potter." Said the man "My name is Zak Bagans, I'm the lead investigator of the GAC, Ghost Adventures Crew." He said Harry stood in shock, not because someone was helping him, oh no, he was shocked by his accent; he could believe it these men were from America.

Kingsley and Harry were in the corner of the office while the crew was checking their equipment "You brought Americans?" Harry whispered angrily "They were the first ones to respond the letter this early." Kingsley said "Why is that?" Harry asked still upset "Well the other countries need to get the letter translated and that's gonna take some time." Kingsley said as Harry became angry "So we're either stuck with them or wait longer for other countries, Al could be dead by the time the letter is translated." Harry said

"Americans aren't all that bad Harry." Kingsley said Harry scoffed "Do you have a problem with that?" Kingsley asked "Yeah do you have a problem with that?" A voice said, Harry and Kingsley looked behind them and saw Zak standing. Harry gave Zak a look as the ghost hunter looked at him and said "Well do you?" Harry chuckled and face him

"Yeah, I don't feel comfortable working with loud snobbish Americans." Harry said trying to sound rude as possible, expecting a stern look or Zak lash back at him Harry prepared himself but instead he actually laugh "What's so funny?" Harry asked him "Oh, nothing, I just think it's funny you say we are the snotty ones when people in America say that England is the snotty ones." Zak said and laughed "But I like to say that British are more… well mannered." Zak said as Kingsley looked at Harry and Zak making his way down towards him "Please, I want to help, I was taught that giving was better than receiving especially to those who really need it now I'm giving and you're not thankful for it." Zak said

Harry looked at him for a minute and sighed "You come to me where I am desperate, so desperate that I'm willing to do anything." Harry said which made Zak smiled "Good." He said "That's what I want to hear, if you don't mind I would like to ask you a few questions." Zak said "As long as it gets me my son back." Harry said as he walked up to an empty chair and sat in it, the chair was in front of Zak and the other two men.

Zak sat down next to the men as he put his glasses on "Ok in case you've forgotten my name is Zak and these two are my co-hosts." Zak said "This is Nick Groff." Zak said while pointing to the man that was his left and Harry's right "And this here is Aaron Goodwin." Zak said while pointing to his right that was on Harry's left "They are good friends of mine and has been with me since we started in 04 so I trust them with my life." Zak said

Someone sniffed that made Harry look over to his left and saw Aaron fake crying "That's so beautiful." He said whimsically Harry gave him a disproval look as Nick was trying not to laugh "Dude, try to be serious ok?" Zak said to Aaron but with a smile on his face "Sorry about that, we joke a lot since we have to deal with evil spirits." Zak said "What kind of evil spirits?" Harry asked "The kind that could make your hair curl." Aaron said as Harry rolled his eyes

"No how about the kind that makes Professor Umbrige look like a sweet little old lady." Nick said "Sorry, but that was taken too." Harry told him "How about, the kind that makes everyone, even Voldemort scream like a little girl." Zak said Harry look at him with shock, no one had made a reference of Voldemort in years. Zak looked at him and smiled as he nodded his head he then looked at his clipboard and began to read "Alright." He said

"I just want to ask you some questions." Zak explained "First Question: Who is all living in the house and how old are they?" Zak asked Harry then grunted "There's me my 31st birthday is in a month, then there's my wife Ginvera or Ginny is what she likes to be called she'll be 30 in August. Then there's James my oldest son he's six, Albus or Al is what we call him." Harry said "Named him after Albus Dumbledore, nice." Aaron said Harry nodded and continued

"Al is five and Lily is our youngest she's two." Harry finished "When was Al taken?" Zak asked again "About almost a month ago." Harry said "Has there been anything usual going on in your house?" Aaron asked this time "Well now that you mention it there's been a lot of movement going on besides me and my wife using magic of course." Harry said "What do you mean a lot of movement?" Nick asked

"Furniture moving by themselves, lights flickering off and on and something haunting Al's room." Harry said "Ok, tell us exactly what happened." Zak said to him Harry and sighed and went into the story. Once or twice Harry thought it was best not to tell them about Al's voice come through the radio but before he made a decision he had already told them "Well it sounds like you've gone through some crazy shit." Nick said "You're not gonna say that I'm crazy?!" Harry asked shocked

"About what?" Aaron asked "About me hearing my son's voice through a radio?" Harry questioned them "Actually it's not crazy at all." Zak said "Really?" Harry asked surprised "Well radios have frequency that allow spirits to speak with the living." Zak said "Seriously, spirits can do that?" Harry asked "Well not all radios can do it, you have to have a special type of radio." Zak said "But since your radio uses magic any type of spirit can use it." Nick said

Harry felt a little better after hearing that but he still wasn't comfortable on telling Ron and Hermione. He sighed and looked up at Zak who then said "How long have these events been going on?" Harry proceeded to rub his face and answered "Three weeks around the same time Al went missing." Zak looked up clueless as Nick looked dumb struck and Aaron had his drink dribble down his front

"Have you desecrated any human remains or disturbed anything that could make spirits angry with you or your son?" Zak asked "No, that's the last thing we want to do all we want is to live in peace." Harry explained Zak looked at Nick who was stunned just as he was "Will you let us investigate your house?" Zak asked Harry very seriously "I've already told you I don't care what you do. As long as it gets my son back I'm willing to do it." Harry said

Later that day Zak, Nick, and Aaron were up in the attic storage of the Potter house setting up cameras down stairs was two new guys. Billy Tolle and Jay Wasley were setting a nerve center right in the library. Ginny was up stairs with Harry in the attic room looking at Zak and the others with a cold glare "I don't like them." She whispered to Harry "I don't like them either but this is all we got they were the only ones who answered the letter this early." Harry whispered back "But that doesn't mean we have to let them assist us we can wait for someone else to answer that's from another country." Ginny said through her teeth

"That's the problem Ginny." Harry said trying not to raise his voice "Al's already been in whatever place he's in for almost a month, that's four weeks, if we wait any longer for anybody else I fear we will be too late to save Al who knows how much longer Al can be in there we're desperate." Harry said quietly Ginny looked at him frustrated but did not say anything Harry knew he was right and so did Ginny. She sighed as the doorbell rang "Ding Dong." Lily said making Zak laugh Harry ran down stairs and opened the door only to find Ron and Hermione bursting into the house.

"Are they here?" Ron asked as he took his coat off "I can't believe someone is helping you." Hermione said as she took her's off Harry laid his head on the door in stress, even though he idolized Hermione a lot there were times he thought she was a pain in the ass "Not now Hermione." Harry said trying not to whine but was failing at it "Where are they?" Ron asked "They're upstairs." Harry told them

"Listen I don't mind you guys coming over but right now is not a good time." Harry explained as he closed the door "Why what's wrong?" Hermione asked "I don't want to talk about it but I….." Harry tried to say until Nick came down and spoke "Hey Harry." He said not at all trying to sound native "Has this house been renovated?" He asked

"Yeah it has." Harry said as Ron and Hermione looked at him with shock "When you were renovating did any of your equipment move?" He asked once more "No, like I said before this all happened right after Al disappeared." Harry said Nick nodded as he had a dazed look upon him after a minute or so he looked back up and smiled "Alright thanks." He said and walked back to the attic room, in front of the staircase was Aaron wearing some weird mask.

He started to dance in front of Nick who was near him "Take that off, oh my god." Nick said with a smile on his face as Aaron laughed and went back upstairs with Nick. Ron and Hermione stared for a bit until Ron snickered. Hermione blinked still looking bewildered "Well now we know why they believe the story." Hermione said "I like the mask guy he's funny." Ron said with a laugh

Harry, Ron, and Hermione were sitting in the parlor room as Zak was setting up a night vision camera. Hermione had a cold stare like Ginny's towards Zak, but he did not flinch instead he gave a warm smile to her. She turned back towards Harry and Ron and said "I do not like this." Ron then groaned "Come off it Hermione, it's not your place to say that they should get out because you don't believe…." Ron started

"No it's not that." Hermione cut him off Ron looked at her then at Harry who was just as confused as he was "I don't like them because of… you know what they are." Hermione explained Ron rolled his eyes as Harry groaned "I know but this is all we got." Harry told her "But they're Americans." Hermione said as Ron gave her a look but apparently she didn't see it "Listen Hermione, I'm only letting them do this because me and Ginny are desperate we have no idea how long Al's got." Harry said to them

"But really Harry Americans, surely I thought you could do better but, Americans?" She questioned him "Ok Hermione yeah we get it they're from a different country." Ron said though nobody was listening "Look I don't like them as much as you do b-…." Harry started until Ron said "Wait what?!" Now both Harry and Hermione could hear him and gave him a confusing look "Did you say you didn't like Americans?" Ron asked Harry

"So what if I do?" He asked confusingly then looked at Hermione who was also confused "Really you?" Ron questioned him again as Harry gave his best friend a look of astonishment, no matter how many years have passed by, there were still thinks they learned about each other. "Seriously, I thought you of all people would surely not give a damn about Americans." Ron said as Harry continued to stare at him bewildered "What makes you think that?" Harry asked

"Well, all this time we've known each other not once have you said anything against the Americans." Ron explained "Well one, it never came up in a subject and two, it was a topic I really didn't want to talk about." Harry told him "What is your guy's problem with Americans anyway?" Ron questioned "They are loud, obnoxious, and inconsiderate." Hermione said "And what the hell are we?" Ron questioned

"We don't complain about expenses when we work our butts off to give them everything they need." Hermione said "You've got to be kidding me, talking about the American Revolution my valuation of your brains have gone from a ten to a zero." Ron told her as she gawked at him "And why has it gone so low I might ask?" She questioned "Come on, it was one stupid war they won against us." Ron said "Wait, you know about the Revolution?" Harry asked

"Yeah, it's in British history." Ron said as Harry looked surprised and Hermione blinked "What?" Ron questioned as he saw the look on their faces "Nothing." Harry told him "Oh come on, do you really think that people in the wizarding world don't know about the Revolution?" Ron said Harry shrugged his shoulders "I thought so, I mean it's not a wizarding war." Harry said

"But we still had muggles and wizards fighting in the battles." Ron said "But we still gave them everything they need and they still kept complaining." Hermione said "Hermione get over it!" Ron exclaimed "We fought, they won, we never went into battle again, the end." Ron finished "What about the War of 1812?" Hermione asked

"Yeah well they were only helping the French so it really doesn't count." Ron said "The point is, who gives a fucking care; the war happened over 200 years ago." Ron continued "237 years to be exact." Hermione said "You are just filled with random stuff aren't you?" Ron asked Hermione rolled her eyes as Zak smiled "But anyways, back to topic, we weren't even born, they weren't even born, most of the human population wasn't even born 200 years ago.

"So why, why the hell are we splitting hairs over something that happened when a lot of us weren't even alive to see it." Ron said Harry looked at Hermione who looked frustrated but didn't say a word, he knew that she was biting her tounge to keep quite. For the first time in twenty years Ron was making sense and Hermione knew it, she just didn't want to admit it. Harry sighed and looked at the fire "The reason why I hate Americans is not because of the war." He said "What are you talking about?" Hermione asked

"According to McGonagall, when my parents found out about Voldemort was trying to track them down and kill them, Dumbledore wanted them to take me and go hide in America. After they sent out a concession they were denied. McGonagall said that the minister of magic over there didn't want us being there. His words were "I don't want some dirty snobbish British family wandering around spoiling our American grounds." She said because of them, my parents are dead.

"If they hadn't denied their concession they wouldn't have needed Petigrew as their secret keeper, he wouldn't have betrayed them, and Voldemort wouldn't have killed them, and my parents would still be here." Harry said "That President of Magic broke the law." Zak said Ron, Harry and Hermione looked at him confused, "What do you mean by that?" Harry asked "By law muggles and wizards he has to have a good reason for not letting an immigrant into the country." Zak said Harry said nothing and continued to look at the fire. He was too frustrated to deal with Zak right now and the fact that Zak and his friends were in his house made it worse. But he felt it was the only way to save Al, and he wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to finally bring him back home.
