Wicked Way
Chapter 3
Disclaimer: See chapter one...
A/N: Hello, my readers! Bet you thought I forgot about you, didn't you? You're not that lucky. I was going to do another Rumbelle chapter, but I don't want that surprise to come yet. It's a horrible, sad chapter, so you guys get this one, instead.
BTW, all these chapters are about a three-ish months apart.
The Charmings' apartment, in the early morning...
The sun was just rising in the sky, making the clouds look bright pink and orange against the blue sky, still peppered with stars from the night.
Peering at this lovely sight, Neal Cassidy lay in bed next to his love, Emma Swan, who was still sleeping, laying on her side with her back to him, and her long, blonde hair splayed out behind her in a tangled mess. Neal lay behind her, as close as he could get, propped up on one elbow, and tracing patterns with his other hand across the bare skin of her shoulder, arm, side, and anywhere else he traveled. When Emma started to stir, Neal peered down at her with a gentle smile of content on his face.
"Morning, sunshine." Neal said, placing a small kiss on her cheek. Emma looked up at him, and, after her vision cleared, smiled sleepily at him, gave him a kiss on the lips, and nestled back against his chest for warmth against the cool, spring air coming in through the slightly opened window.
"I don't want to wake up yet." Emma mumbled, pulling the covers up to her chin and burying her face in them.
"Emma, come on, time to be awake." Neal said, gently tugging on the covers in her hand. "Bright eyed, and bushy tailed. It's a beautiful morning, Emma." he said, gesturing to the sky outside the window.
"No." Emma said, shaking her head. "No more mornings for Emma."
"How about this," Neal started, brushing the hair out of Emma's face so she could look at him. "We get up, get some warm clothes on, I'll make us some pancakes while you make us hot chocolate, and we'll spend the day watching B-rate Mexican wrestling. How's that for a slice of awesome?" Neal said with a goofy grin on his face.
"Sounds like a morning I could handle." Emma said after a moments thought, kissing him again, but this time she let it last a bit longer.
"Well, if you want, I could put chocolate chips in the pancakes, too." Neal mumbled against her lips, and leaned in closer to deepen the kiss.
"Aww, you would do that? You're so sweet." Emma said as she rolled over so she was laying on her back and Neal was laying on her, half on, half off, she wrapped her arms around him so that she had a firm grip on his bare shoulders, and peppered his jawline with little kisses.
"Only for you, babe." Neal said, and bent his head down to kiss her neck, with a hand in her hair, the other grabbed her leg and wrapped it around his waist, and caressed her naked thigh.
"You know, I should tell you," Emma started to say, as she looked over his shoulder at the white ceiling, but wasn't sure how to say it, as her breathing was staggered and her brain was fogging up rather quickly from their heated moment, "You know how, um, I've kinda had an increase in, uh, my appetite recently, and all the weird moodiness that you were concerned about?" Emma said, and Neal stopped his actions and pulled back to give her a "What are you saying?" look. "Um, Neal, heh," Emma stuttered with a small chuckle, "I'm... pregnant." she said with a nervous smile. Neal didn't say or do anything, but after a few seconds he rolled over on his back, and stared at the ceiling, processing what she'd said.
"Aren't you gonna say anything?" Emma asked nervously when Neal didn't speak for a few minutes.
"Is this a good thing or a bad thing?" Neal asked tentatively, glancing at Emma out of the corner of his eye, who looked worried, and a bit cautious.
"Well, I don't know, I mean, it's a baby." Emma said, shrugging, not sure about Neal's tone of voice. "We weren't ready for a baby with Henry, for obvious reasons, and we aren't really ready for one now, so..." she trailed off, hoping Neal would say something to reassure her that everything would be alright.
"Well, you're right about that, we weren't ready then, and we're even less ready now." Neal said, and turned on his side to face Emma.
"Why are we less ready now?" Emma asked, turning on her side so they were facing each other.
"Emma, come on, look at us? We live with our parents, the child we already have doesn't even live with either of us, and we still have a lot of issues to work out between us. I mean, is this really the best time to be having another kid?" Neal asked, with an inquiring look.
"Neal, are saying that I... should..." Emma started, but didn't want to finish.
"No, Emma, no, I would never suggest something you weren't comfortable with, especially with your views on such a matter." Neal said quickly and reassuringly as Emma breathed a sigh of relief. "All I'm saying is that we still have a lot to do if we want this baby. When did you find out, anyway?"
"Yesterday afternoon. I was gonna tell you last night at the restaurant, but I couldn't find a good way to bring it up. Then I was gonna tell you last night, but then things got way too heated, and I didn't want it to get interrupted. Then I figured that if I didn't say it now, I never would." Emma said, giving Neal a small smile.
"Okay, so you're about, what? Two months along, right?" Neal asked, and continued at Emma's confirming nod. "So, first thing's first,we need to wait until you're in your third trimester, because there's really no sense in getting all hyped up and excited if it's not gonna stick, because that's just depressing. If you do make it to the third, then we need to tell the family, and then we'll talk to our parents, and figure out what to do next. One step at a time, okay?" Neal said, and Emma nodded her agreement.
"Neal,"Emma said after a minute of them just staring at each other, lost in their own thoughts, and continued when Neal raised his eyebrows to show he was listening. "We're gonna have another baby!" she said in a sort of squeally, excited kind of voice and a huge grin on her face.
"I know!" Neal said, mimicking her. "I'm so excited, even though I just said we shouldn't be, but this is so great!" Neal said, moving closer to Emma. "What do you think it's gonna be?" he asked, trying to contain his excitement.
"I don't know... I'm kind of hoping for another boy... but a girl would be nice, too, 'cause then it'd be even, having two boys and two girls." Emma said absently, and then focused on Neal again. "Whale says we'll be able to find out in a couple weeks what it's gonna be."
"Well, I really don't mind either way. The baby could be a boy or a girl or even sexually ambiguous, just as long as it's healthy." Neal said, and Emma couldn't help but giggle at his 'sexually ambiguous' comment.
A/N: Okay, I'm gonna stop this here because I'm sick and I can't think of anything else to write. Plus, I'm pretty sure I have a fever to go with my sore throat, headache and constant nausea. It really sucks to be me right now, you have no idea. -_-
