The journey to the hospital was blurry and full of noises and voices that Stiles didn't process. He had screeched into the car park, practically abandoning the jeep as he flung open his door and struggled out of his seatbelt. Allison was quick to follow his lead, opening her door for him and she watched as his paled at the sight of an ill looking Lydia.
Her skin had a sheen to it, her complexion ashen. Her eyes were weak and she struggled to open them as she slumped against Allison. The blood had finally stopped its continuous flow from her ears but the wound had left a dark and angry smear down her cheek and neck.
No words were exchanged as Stiles looked at the two girls, one terrified and the other barely conscious.

Malia was quiet in the front seat, her hands clasped between her knees as looked into the scene with a mixture of worry and curiosity.
With a quiet voice, she asked Stiles, "She's not going to die, right?"
Allison scowled at the were coyotes words but Stiles' defiant tone cut through the tense atmosphere.
"No", he told her simply.
Lydia floated in and out of consciousness and Stiles watched on with a sinking feeling in his stomach as her eyes moved frantically behind their lids.
Allison shifted suddenly in her seat, one hand tightening around Lydia's as the other rose to point behind Stiles.
"There's Mrs McCall", she sprang into action, carefully moving Lydia into the boys arms, "let's go".

The world passed slowly and colours turned to grey when Stiles carefully handed Lydia over to two medics. Mrs McCall rubbed the boys hand soothingly before giving the three teens a tight smile and rushing off to the emergency room with Lydia, shouting out instructions as the men pushed her gurney through the corridor.
Allison fell into the seat in the waiting room her head in her hands. Stiles gave her shoulder a reassuring squeeze before he started to pace, his mind racing with thoughts he did not want.
"Why is it so serious?" Malia asked another question, her face wary as she looked to Allison for a reaction, "I mean, in the wild, we would just get ourselves clean and that would be it…"
Stiles knew she meant well - she wasn't used to hospitals and the such - so when he answered, he tried to keep his voice free of annoyance and strain.
"Uh, bleeding from the ears, it can be pretty serious," he looked at Allison's trembling lip and watery eyes, "sometimes, it can be sometimes."
He took a deep, shaky breath, "it could mean an internal head injury, but with a Lydia being a banshee, well, we don't know what it means." Stiles stopped his relentless pacing and dropped heavily into the uncomfortable, plastic chair beside his friend, "We don't know anything".

Allison leant her head on the boys shoulder and her hand covered his as she tried to calm the boy. His breathing was quickening slightly and Allison knew the signs.
"Don't think about the bad things, Stiles, she's going to be okay. Slow your breathing".
He nodded and bowed his head, doing as Allison told him. They were quiet for several minutes and the only sound was the shallow breaths of the panicking boy.
"Is he okay?" Malia looked confused once more as she pointed to Stiles.
Allison rubbed circles on his back, trying to remember the steps Lydia had once told her. She was always sure her friend never really told her all of them. The girl looked up at the coyote and nodded through a sigh.
"He's okay. It can happen sometimes, they don't last too long though. Well, they don't when Lydia is with him. She manages to calm him a lot quicker than the rest of us can."
At the mention of the strawberry blonde, Allison felt Stiles' breathing slow and his breaths became calmer, his body less tense.
She smiled.
Malia nodded at the girl's explanation, her mind processing what she had been told and what it could mean. Her fingers played with the ends of her hair as it became quiet once more.
"I'll go see if I can get us something to drink…" She started off down the corridor before quickly turning back to Allison, "would that be a good thing to do?"
The brunette smiled and nodded to the girl, "It would be a good thing to do, thank you Malia".
The coyote pulled herself to her full height and smiled pleased with herself. She started back down the corridor and Allison watched as she disappeared from view.

Stiles didn't resurface until he seen white shoes appear on the tiles in front of him. His vision had swum as he started at the floor for what seemed like hours. The only thing he felt was the slow circles that Allison mapped out onto his back. He felt heavy and weak, the boy felt helpless.
It had been so long since Lydia had been taken out of his arms by two strangers, his mind was burning with unwanted thoughts and scenarios.
When Melissa stood in front of them, Stiles jumped to his feet, his hands automatically reaching to grab the ends of his hair.
Allison was on her feet beside him in seconds, her eyes were red and her nails were bitten into stumps.
"Is she okay?"
"Can we see her? What's happening?"
The woman held up two hands, hushing the teens. She smiled warmly before telling them first and foremost, that Lydia was okay.
Tears of relief sprang to Allison's eyes and she smiled a watery smile. Stiles had dropped back down into his chair, his body heavy with huge release of tension he had held for hours.
His hands rubbed over his face as he blew out a deep, trembling breath.

Stiles looked up at his best friends mum and asked with hopeful eyes, "Can we see her?"
The nurse nodded with a smile and Stiles took Allison's offered hand as she helped pull him to his feet.
They followed the woman down the white hallway, letting her lead them around turns and through doors.
"She's still sleeping - she's on a lot of pain medication and the poor thing will be out of it for a little while," Melissa told them, "Lydia lost a substantial amount of blood but she's going to be fine".
They passed through another door and Stiles and Allison watched as Mrs McCall scrawled their names down on a sheet.
"There are no internal injuries and the bleeding has stopped", Stiles let out another grateful sigh at her words and Allison squeezed his hand that she still held.
Melissa continued, "I called Deaton also, just to make sure there were no supernatural consequences but he seemed certain a team of normal medics could handle the situation", she gave them a smile as they stopped outside another office. More names and dates were written a down and the woman asked if any of them had heard from Scott.
Allison nodded, "Yeah, about a half hour ago - he asked how Lydia was and told me he was just finishing up the girl and the sheriff. He's totally fine, don't worry".
Melissa smiled at the girls words and her mind calmed. She grabbed a clipboard from a table and ushered the two towards a door.
"Okay, she's still asleep but I figure that's better than not letting you's see her at all".
Stiles nodded furiously, willing the door to open. Melissa pressed a buzzer and gently pushed the door, allowing the teens inside.
Stiles almost crumbled at the sight before him.
