Dumbledore looked at him with a smile "Harry… you wonderful, wonderful boy. You brave, brave man. I can see from your expression that you carry many questions… come let's walk." His arm waved for him to follow him, but Harry's thoughts were still at the horrific creature he saw crawled up with blood "Professor, what is that thing? It's dying." Harry said his eyes darting at where it laid but Dumbledore did not glance at it as if in disgust "It's something beyond our help Harry… the part of Voldemort from you sent here to die… it won't be long now."
Harry heard Dumbledore's words echoed around his head, as they walked he glanced about "And exactly where are we? What is this place?" he looked back to Dumbledore hoping he had answers to help him understand, but the elder wizard looked back at him "I was going to ask you that question. Where would you say that we are? I haven't the faintest idea." Harry swallowed not realizing he had held his breath waiting for his answer, Harry squinted and try to take in the details while searching through his memories "Well… I guess it looks like King's Cross station."
He said looking about his ears filling with the sounds of the train and people talking amongst themselves going about their business. "King's Cross you say?" Dumbledore spoke which confused Harry as if he had never been to King's Cross station before, given that this version was empty and pure white in color "Yes but only much cleaner, not a crowded mess and without all the trains." Harry said adding to his description which made Dumbledore smile "This is as they say, your party my dear boy… I suspect that you already know about the connection between you and Voldemort that began at Godric's Hollow. That it was fate who set you on the course here."
Harry swallowed hard putting the pieces together in his head "So it's true then, sir? That thing was the part of Voldemort inside of me…" Harry said glancing back at where the figure was but they were so far off it was only a void of white behind him. Dumbledore gave him a soft nod "Yes Harry, that piece of Voldemort did live within you as a host but it was just destroyed many moments ago by none other than Voldemort himself. You, Harry were the Horcrux he never meant to make but ultimately did."
As they continued walking the word Horcrux jarred Harry back to where he was before he came to this place. And like a flood his mission, his friends came to his mind and he stopped "I have to go back haven't I?" he spoke which ultimately came out as a sad question but he didn't have his head down. Dumbledore raised his head up as if wondering himself "Oh that's a predicament I presume, but it is entirely up to you."
Harry blinked rapidly having subconsciously thought that when he arrived at this place that he was on a set course to the afterlife "I have a choice? Seriously?" he called out in full surprise, Dumbledore smiled at him "Oh, yes you do… I have guided you till this moment so my work is done. In other words I can guide you no longer; the choice is for you to decide as it always was. We're in King's Cross, you say? I think, if you so desired it, you'd be able to board a train."
"And where would it take me sir?" A train in this place could possibly take him anywhere if not with Dumbledore. The elder wizard walked over at him, his robes swaying with each step and his smile grew wider as he spoke to Harry "On. To live life as a proven man with more than deserved rest… but then again it can also take you towards your parents and Sirius to forever watch over the others as a protector of sorts. But what you have to remember Harry… is that the choice is yours to make." Harry took in his words heavily onto his mind; the only response he could muster was a subtle "Right…"
Dumbledore looked upon Harry who was deep in thought, but it didn't take an all-powerful bearded wizard to know where he was headed. The old man lifted a hand onto the young man's shoulder giving him a comforting shrug with it "Besides… you and I both know you have already chosen. And I truly believe it's the right decision… Miss Granger will surely be pleased." Harry chuckled at how transparent he was being, he had to admit being with his parents was what he had always wanted since he was a child but he knew very well that they would be there waiting for him when his time was right. And it wasn't just yet, not when his heart yearned to be with her again, thinking back to the castle Harry remembered something that made his mind tense up "Voldemort has the elder wand, he took it from you."
"True." was the only reply Dumbledore gave Harry "And that snake is still alive." he stated nonverbally asking for help but the former headmaster just nodded back at him "Yes." Seeing that he was getting nowhere Harry pressed on "And I've got nothing to kill it with. The sword's gone…" his feelings fell not being able to think of any other way to destroy the snake. Dumbledore thought before answering him "Throughout your many years in Hogwarts there has always been a constant lesson. Help will always be given at Hogwarts, Harry… to those who ask for it. Amazing… I've always prized myself on my ability to turn a phrase. Words are, in my not so humble opinion… our most inexhaustible source of magic… capable of both inflicting injury and remedying it."
"But I would, in this case, amend my original statement to this. Help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who deserve it." Harry was left to decipher Dumbledore's riddle and possible final lesson for him. "Do not pity the dead Harry, pity the living who do not know the precious gift of life. And, above all, all those who live without love." with those words Dumbledore started to walk away towards the void of whiteness and probably back to where he came from. Harry called out to him once again knowing it would be a while before he would get real answers about his past from him "Professor, my mother's patronus was a doe… but so was Professor Snape's. Curious isn't it that they're both the same, I thought patronuses were special to the castor."
"Actually if you put much thought about it, it doesn't seem curious at all." Harry looked down scrunching his face wondering if his patronus will turn into an otter or Hermione's will turn into a stag. He was too much into his thoughts he didn't realize how far Dumbledore had gone away from him "It's time for me to go now Harry."
"Professor? All this… is it all real? Or is it just happening inside my head?" Harry asked with everything that had just happened in a way asking if he was still sane. "Of course it's happening inside your head, Harry. Why should that mean that it's not real?" Somehow his words eased him enough to lower his guard and allow Dumbledore to leave "Goodbye Harry… till we meet again many years from now. Oh and give my thanks to Ms. Granger… only some will know the great value she holds in our world." his figure seemed to disappear one by one into nothing but white color.
He called out to Dumbledore "Professor? Professor!" But he was alone now, no one to fall to for direction or guidance but himself. He closed his eyes clearly stating in his mind the choice he had made, to return to Hermione and his friends. For a future that is still worth fighting for and to live through till the end. A train whistle rang his ears signaling the arrival of a train beside him, it gave a familiar sound of the steam releasing and the doors opening. Harry took a deep breath before breaking into a full sprint towards the doors "I'm coming home… Hermione."
The face of the dark lord appeared frailer than before, veins seemed to pulse even more and his skin seemed dry and cracked. Bellatrix's voice rang around checking on him effortlessly "My lord… are you hurt? My lord?" she continued to pry much to the annoyance of the dark lord. He opened his eyes and raised himself knowing he could not show he was in any weak condition to his followers especially after his moment of triumph. Only a few saw him fall about the same time Potter fell in front of him, Bellatrix saw that his eyes were on the boy as if not sure if his spell worked. Bellatrix called out "Is he dead? Narcissa… sister go on!"
Narcissa shook at her screaming, but she did as instructed and slowly walked over to Harry while looking at Bellatrix and Voldemort carefully as if they might kill her. When she was close enough she knelt over and looked down at Harry who was clearly someone's son. Her thoughts as always have been on Draco, not knowing if Harry was truly dead or alive she voluntarily whispered close to his ear "Draco? Draco, is he alive? Is my dear boy okay?" her voice hitched awaiting a reply that might not come.
She looked away for a moment as if knowing an answer to her own question but when her eyes returned to him she saw that Harry nodded slightly in a small tilt that was unnoticeable except for her who was this close. As a mother her heart warmed at her boy being safe from harm and to return the favor she would have to lie to the dark lord. She stood slowly and turned to see everyone's eager faces awaiting her response, she spoke slowly as if clearly in distraught "He's dead."
"No! Harry!" Hagrid roared using his anger he pushed a death eater against a tree and knocked out three death eaters with his fists until he was brought to his knees with Voldemort casting a cruciatus curse at him. "Enough! You… oaf, carry him… back to castle I bet they're waiting to see him." The dark lord directed a few death eaters to move Hagrid towards Harry who stayed perfectly still in front of him. The dark lord raised his head and looked at the body triumphantly eagerly awaiting to announce his victory "Show them their hero, their savior and what has become of him. Harry Potter… the Boy – Who – Died."
Back at the Great Hall, McGonagall's face fell at the sight of a fallen fourth year "We will notify the parents first thing in the morning after all this is over." she instructed a fellow staff member beside her. Unexpectedly Dean came running into the Great Hall distraught "Professor! There's more coming!" he called out in worry. A switch came on within McGonagall and she went back to warrior mode "Those able to fight come with me, those who cannot stay here." she said walking out with Dean and other students and staff ready to continue the fight.
Neville walked over to Ginny who was marching with them "Gin? You're going to fight? But after… you know." he asked worriedly. She didn't seemed to be phased as she continued on with the others "We've grown closer within these past few months than we have ever in the past years and you're still questioning me? It's sweet Nev don't get me wrong but my brother won't be the only casualty if I don't fight and besides the next few ones are for him." Neville felt a cold chill from her glare but like she said they did grow close within the months in Hogwarts as the resistance, he learned quite well how persistent and driven she was.
He lowered his head and took her hand walking with her towards battle once again. Ginny didn't notice it at first but when she did, she did a good job hiding herself from him. Seamus nodded at Dean "Let's knock some heads aye mate?" Dean managed a smile shaking his head "Too bad you used the last of those explosives back on the bridge." he teased his best friend. Seamus smirked back at him "Don't underestimate a Finnegan… we're nothing but resourceful." he winks opening his robe pocket which made Dean not want to ask further.
The death eaters busted through the walls and quickly casted spells their way causing them to scatter. "Is it just me or do they just keep coming?!" called out Ginny casting from cover, Seamus managed a smirk "Yeah they're like dark rabbits… never mind take that back. The thought of dark rabbits alone is to give me a nice scare." Dean looked oddly at his friend ducking down quickly avoiding a curse that was a hair away from catching his face "Seamus now would be a good time to give them the Finnegan surprise instead of thoughts of rabbits."
"Right, sorry mate." Seamus quickly nodded grabbing a few bomb of every variety that either threw the death eaters off or flat-out disgusted them. Ginny and Neville used the cover Seamus created to cast out a few columns that crumbled on top of unsuspecting death eaters killing them. Ginny a powerful reducto down range nearly missing most of the dark forces until it connected with one knocking others surrounding him. Neville smiled at her brilliant cast, he looked back at her and his smile grew wider seeing how strong she truly was. For the faintest of moments his smile fade away quickly when he casted beside her throwing a death eater out who was aiming his wand at Ginny. She glanced to where the death eater was and looked back at Neville her expression filled with gratitude and surprise.
"Stupid Children! Come on men push!" called out a death eater who was irritated that a bunch of children were defeating them so easily. Abeforth and McGonagall stood high in front of them "Well if you despise getting your dark little arse kicked by children we'll be happy to oblige." Abeforth said with a smirk before charging at the death eaters. Kingsley appeared beside McGonagall with his hand outstretched as if trying to catch Abeforth before he charged "Abe wait! We'll… take them together." he sighed out loud showing his exhausted frustration, McGonagall waved her arm towards him "Well Kingsley old friend let's have some fun shall we?"
"Minerva, take the lead." Kingsley smirked back at the headmistress as the two powerful wizards joined Abeforth fighting the death eaters. On occasion Abeforth would land a punch to the death eaters causing them to stubble not used to physical harm that wasn't the magical kind. Seeing the older wizards and witches caused an uproar of others to fight on behalf of Hogwarts and the good of the wizarding world. A few of third years grew the courage to challenge an equal number of death eaters that threatened their friends. Katie and Oliver joined in and casted more powerful spells that helped the younger years in battle.
Spells flew back and forth from each end of the courtyard with each side not giving much in terms of land. A sudden chill filled the air as Seamus's eyes grew wide looking over the bridge he saw more of them come in, he felt like he had to take out as much as he could before the next wave would come in so he blasted more spells the death eaters way causing them to fall. With all the mayhem happening around them no one had plans of giving up and then there was a sudden stop and the dark forces part like the red sea revealing the dark lord and his other followers.
"Silence! Halt all the fighting!" the dark lord raised his hands as if signaling everyone to as he says. Seamus stood and spat at him "You attacked us!" Voldemort lowered his hands and his face fell "Those who attacked you were acting on their own motives." Seamus scrunched up his face not believing him one bit, a wounded death eater stumbled towards Voldemort's side "My lord, we wanted to win the battle for you when they were weak." he spoke as if the dark lord would understand but the wounded death eater only saw cold eyes "You thought… wrong." Voldemort kills all the death eaters who attacked the students with multiple strikes which earned gasps from the spectators.
Hermione walked slowly beside Ron her eyes found that of Hagrid who was holding someone looking sad "Who's that Hagrid's holding Ron? Ron?" she said in somewhat denial even Ron knew that she was because he could see the round spectacles as clear as day. He didn't want to respond to her to spare her the pain "No more death shall come today, no more ounce of magical blood shall be spilt." McGonagall and the others looked somewhat relieved that there would be no more fighting but their faces still appeared concerned not knowing what to expect next. Voldemort raised his hands up to the heavens and proclaimed "Harry Potter… is dead!"
Hermione could feel her heart constricting within her and her legs went limp stopping short of the ground by Ron catching her. Her eyes squeezing shut as she sobbed uncontrollably in his arms, tears flowing furiously down her face soaking Ron's shirt. She struggled against him to run towards Harry's body to hold him in her arms maybe just maybe he can come back to her if she went to him. "No!" she sobbed into his shirt, Luna came beside her with Ginny and they hugged her tight knowing that her world was shattering.
"Like I said before no more magical blood shall be spilled, I offer a truce for now to give you all a choice. Come join us and reform… or well join your savior in death." the dark lord motioned his arm towards Hagrid who had dried tears and red eyes holding Harry in his arms. Everyone looked to him and a few students cried feeling that their deaths were only a matter of time. "Draco… darling come." Narcissa at the other end begged for her son to join her and his father. Draco looked conflicted looking between his classmates and his parents "Draco come on he saved your life!" Ron called out still holding Hermione close.
"Draco come here this instant." Lucius commanded quickly smiling after his outburst, but it seemed like after Lucius spoke Draco's face fell and his entire mind changed. He shook his head showing that he didn't want to go and he stood put like a statue bound by the floor. Voldemort saw this and shook his head, Narcissa's face fell thinking she would have to see her son get murdered in front of her "Draco… well I've expected much more from you boy… but you have made your choice. Any more?"
No one moved for the longest time, not a single soul would do anything at the current moment. But then gasps were heard and many were shocked to see Neville Longbottom limp his way towards the dark lord who grew an amused expression "Well, well… I would be lying if I didn't hope for much better." He turned to his death eaters and they laughed at the sight boosting the dark lord's ego "And who would you be young man? Go on give us your name."
"Neville… Neville Longbottom." he said not daring to look the dark lord in the eye, Ginny couldn't believe what she was seeing her heart grew conflicted. Neville had the sorting hat with him which was curious, but Voldemort thought nothing of it instead just motioned for him to go towards his followers "Well, Neville, I'm sure there is a place for you in our ranks somewhere." But Neville stayed put where he was still looking at the ground "I would like to say something!"
"Well, Neville I'm sure whatever you want to say will fascinate us later." Neville shook his head still not looking at the dark lord "It doesn't matter if Harry's gone… he did it all just for us. People he cared about." Not liking the words that came from him the dark lord's face fell and he grew impatient "Neville… that's enough boy." Not wanting the boy's words to cause another stir against him but Neville continued "People die every single day no matter how many times we try to ignore it. No one is safe, Friends… family and yeah we may have lost Harry tonight but…" Neville reached into the sorting hat "Harry's still with us! In here! In our hearts!"
"It's not over! It's never over!" Neville declared pulling out the sword ready to fight once again, Voldemort laughed at the fight of the boy but he couldn't deny he was going to take delight in taking the brats down. Harry heard his friend and quickly shifted his weight to the open side of Hagrid allowing him to fall to the floor and quickly back to his feet. Hermione saw this and her heart instantly bursted in happiness she even squealed at the sight of him alive again. Warmth filled her body like ten adrenaline shots making raise her wand taking out four death eaters not too far from her with a powerful Confringo spell. The students and staff roared at their savior returning to them, Voldemort's face fell and his anger bubbled within him causing him to cast destructive charms at Harry's fleeting figure.
Everyone was back to fighting once again, but the tide was clearly within the good guy's favor. They pushed on hard towards the dark forces causing them to scatter amongst the castle once again. The dark lord having pulled back all the other dark creatures put his death eaters at a disadvantage, not saying they didn't still put up a fight. Neville stood in front of the dark lord bravely but was pushed back towards the steps knocking him unconscious "Neville!" called out Ginny.
Harry ran quickly as he could through the halls of the castle avoiding the dark lord's destructive spells causing his surroundings to crumble. But he knew he had to get as far away from the others as he could not wanting them to get into the crossfire of the prophesized battle between him and the dark lord. Harry turned the corner and stopped suddenly when a growling Fenrir Greyback appeared in front of him, he groaned at the sight of him knowing he had no time for him.
"We'll take him Harry!" he heard someone call out beside him, Harry turned his head to see Bill and Fleur coming towards him with wands out. They stopped in front of him "Go! We've got this." Bill said confidently, Harry nodded and thanked them before running off looking back once to make sure they were okay before running deeper into the castle. "I've been waiting for this Greyback; I'll be the last one you hurt." Bill said strongly tightening his hold of Fleur's hand "Let's kick his arse." Fleur added which made Bill smile before they sent a flurry of spells Greyback's way.
"Harry!" Hermione called out for him in the midst of all the fighting, her heart yearning to help him and be with him. She called out once more around the Great Hall not sure where exactly he went, but what she got back was not what she wanted to hear. She froze and closed her eyes in disgust as a familiar cackle entered her ears, turning around she saw Bellatrix waving her wand about. "Looksee, Looksee who do we have here? The Mud-blood whore? All alone and nowhere to go?" the dark witch tilted her head "Come on girlie, let's dance Potty Potter is not here to save you now." she teased trying to get into her head, but Hermione glared at her using the anger she built up of her for hurting Harry and trying to torture her back at the manor "That is where you're wrong, I don't need him to kill you."
Bellatrix just laughed a bit louder this time as if she couldn't believe what she was hearing, but she couldn't deny the fun she was about to have. Unknown to Hermione Bellatrix quickly fired shots at her making her dodge them quickly and get her off balance. She regained her balance and composure and fired back her own spells that nearly collided with the death eater head on. Bellatrix screamed at her "How dare you! You can't hurt me!" her eyes grew wide as if ready to pop out. The dark witch lashed out quickly with cutting spells this time, Hermione reading how she was acting levitated a nearby table to block the slashes "Wingardium Leviousa!"
Seeing this made Bellatrix think she had her trapped so she continued her lashing out, Hermione bent down behind the table as it began to be chipped away piece by piece. She could hear Bellatrix's monstrous laugh as she hid behind what was left of the table, she looked around knowing she needed a way out of there. Hermione saw a clearing and decided to roll towards it and just in time too because Bellatrix blasted the table to smithereens, the force of the blast caused Hermione to fall onto her back.
She landed with a thud that could have easily knocked the wind out of her but she knew quite well how vulnerable she was to an attack. Hermione rolled to her side avoiding cruciatus curses thrown her way by Bellatrix until getting back to her feet levitating chairs towards Bellatrix which she destroyed with a few slashes. But what she didn't know was that there was a table heading towards her from behind, "Confundus!" confusing Bellatrix and forcing her to collide with the table. The table broke behind her and Bellatrix didn't like that one bit. She blew a strand away from her face and scowled at Hermione "You will die where you stand whore!" she called out ready to cast a killing curse at her. Hermione having used most of her magic towards throwing the furniture and Bellatrix was still recovering and was unable to move.
Hermione begged her legs to allow her to move, but her magical core was recovering from the quick uses of magic. The concentration she had to do to levitate and hurl multiple items Bellatrix's way took a lot of her core that had already been used a lot during the battle prior to this. All she could do was watch the pure hatred in Bellatrix's eyes as she fired the spell towards her. But then a huge body walked in front of her moving her out of the way of the spell, Hermione looked closely to see that it was Molly who saved her. Her heart lifted at the sight of Molly Weasley and her mind spoke thankful thoughts at her timely arrival. The mother of the Weasleys glared intensely at Bellatrix pointing her wand in a way that was close to stabbing her if she wasn't a few feet away "Not my daughter you bitch!"
Bellatrix laughed once again "What will an old snag like you do? You just add more pity than help." she continued to taunt, Hermione walked closer to Molly who looked at her and they both nodded at one another. They started casting spells as if in an unspoken routine, one after the other quickly making Bellatrix lose her smile. She deflected most of the spells but Molly kept pressing on "I swore there were more of you Weasels? What lost one already?" Bellatrix had no remorse clearly talking about Percy which only made Molly angrier she pressed on harder and harder towards Bellatrix, the ground beneath them started to get hot and cracked from all the energy radiating of the two.
Hermione waited to see an opening as she merely just casted to keep Bellatrix busy while Molly pressed on. She kept going until she was about two steps away "You will never hurt my family again, Azkaban is not where you're going this time." Molly spoke triumphantly pulling her wand back and casting a powerful expelliarmus charm disarming Bellatrix rather quickly. In the confusion Molly kicked Bellatrix in the stomach causing her to stumble, Hermione saw her opening and casted a petrificus totalus spell that landed right above her heart square in the chest.
Her eyes grew wide in shock as her body began to stiffen and freeze like a block of ice. Taking no more chances Hermione lifted her wand and casted a strong spell at Bellatrix's frozen body causing her to explode into a thousand pieces. She knelt on the floor to catch her breath and to recover from the duel; Molly looked down on her with a warm smile. Mrs. Weasley knelt down and gave Hermione a tight hug "Family is what's important and you just saved ours." Hermione quickly shook her head to correct her "No Mrs. Weasley… we saved our family."
Deeper into the castle, Harry was still running his legs starting to pain after all the running he did around the castle. Since his connection to the dark lord had been severed he had no way of knowing when the dark lord would attack. He stopped for a moment to catch his breath, not taking any chances he took his wand out and did an entire turn checking each side for any sign of him. For a while it was quite only the faint sounds of the battle reaching his ears, until echoes of laughter entered the picture. The type of laughter that was meant to mock and to terrify, his laughter. A cold chill followed suit and Harry readied himself tightening his grip on his wand looking up at where he heard the laughter echoing.
And then out of nowhere the glass around him shattered causing Harry to duck quickly at the sudden attack and then continued his mad dash now with a giant cloud following him from behind. "I know this school boy, you can't hide in here!" the dark lord cackled endlessly having been a student himself there was no nook or hiding place he didn't know. Harry knew this of course so his words didn't faze him as much as his running did "The spirit of Hogwarts is something you'll never destroy; these people will fight you till the end!"
Harry had called out in defiance, Voldemort continued to laugh trying to chip away at Harry's drive to defeat him "If your parents can only see you now… if the world could only just see the Great Harry Potter running like a scared child!" a lash from his wand caused a trophy case to shatter near Harry nearly causing him to stumble and fall but he recovered. He smiled briefly having thought of a witty remark back "If you think about it… I'm running from your ugly mug." Just as he finished his words it was quickly registered by the dark lord sending his reply by rippling the floor beneath him till they exploded and cracked to pieces "I am coming for you, Harry Potter!"
Nagini slithered amongst the ruins near the Great Hall wiping about her tail knocking a few students about. Ron ran and stopped in between the stairs starring at the creature he was meant to kill "Harry told me to kill the snake… but with what?" Ron glanced down at his wand and casted a flurry of spells towards the snake hoping that one of them would work but most of them bounced past it. He did nothing but he only angered Nagini, she stood up high and hissed at Ron making him fall onto the steps behind him "Bloody Hell!" he called out getting back to his feet running away from the giant snake heading his way.
Luna ran up a pair of stairs amidst all of the chaos she heard Ron and her heart jumped at the sight of him in danger "Ron!" she called out in worry but seeing the full length of Nagini made her freeze for a bit. Ron appeared terrified and close to death awaiting Nagini to pounce Luna sees this and uses her courage to gain Nagini's attention "Hey! Scaly face!" she calls out grabbing a rock and throwing it at the snake's head angering it towards her.
Ron's eyes flew wide seeing her do this "Luna? No!" he ran as quickly as he could grabbing her hand and pulling her towards him with Nagini only missing by a hair colliding with a wall. "Come on!" Ron says as the both of them ran down the stairs away from the giant snake trying to kill them. Back at the courtyard Ginny deflected some spells while sending more back knocking down a pillar around a group of death eaters, she stepped back only to see Neville who was still knocked out from the blast he deflected using the sword.
"Neville! Come on, now's not the time!" Ginny called out to him holding his face with her hands, she shook him hoping to wake him up. But he wasn't budging a bit as if someone had given him a draught of the living dead, she feared the worse and reached over the back of his head hoping not to feel blood. Thankfully she felt none but a huge lump of where he possibly landed on "Neville! Don't do this to me! Wake up!" she called out again slapping him on the face several times.
The remaining Weasley brothers protected their sister as she tried to wake Neville up. Ginny grew restless knowing that she had to rejoin the fight, she cursed the world and decided to kiss him full in the lips. As if by magic every sound around her was drown out and she continued to press her lips against his as if he wasn't waking up. But after a few minutes she felt his head move and she got off of him, he used his arms to lift himself up and he looked around dumbfounded "Get on your feet stupid… we're still fighting and we'll talk later."
Neville looked back at her fleeting figure going to help the others fight not knowing what she meant by that. He remembered he had the sword in his possession, turning around he heard many spells casted by Ron and Luna. From what he could gather they were in trouble, he groaned at his uneasy back before going to help his friends.
"Avada Kedavra!" called out the dark lord causing Harry to switch back at cast his own spell causing the spells to join together in a beam. Voldemort wanted this to happen, having Harry not used as much power as he did Voldemort was able to redirect the beam towards the entrance in front of Harry causing it to collapse blocking of his exit. Harry looked down at the rubble breathing heavily, his expression of one without a plan.
"Nowhere else to run now." Voldemort spoke triumphantly his robes casting like a dark shadow around him. Harry casted many spells his way causing the dark lord to shield himself, when he did Harry hit him with a confudus charm sending the dark lord to the side. He raised a hand to his head and when he set eyes on where Harry stood he was gone, he roared out in frustration. "I'm still here, Tom!" Harry called out tackling the dark lord from behind into a lower level of the supports. They both landed hard with a few debris still falling Harry rolled out of the way and the dark lord apparated back to higher ground for more of an advantage.
Voldemort casted many blasting charms Harry's way in which he dodged with minimal ease thanks to his years as a Quidditch player. He casted a slashing hex at a nearby support cable that made the wooden floor beneath the dark lord wobble uncontrollably making the dark lord lose his concentration to remain in balance. Harry took his opportunity and ran back up to meet the dark lord in equal footing standing a few feet in front of each other.
Even though they were no longer connected Harry could still feel the frustration of the dark lord through his expression. "This will not end the way you want it to." Harry spoke taking a few steps back ready to cast a shield charm or to dodge out of the way if he was to send a flurry of spells his way. But Voldemort had other plans "Avada Kedvra!" "Expelliarmus!" Their spells clash once again into a beam sparking in the middle with a push and pull motion on either end the both of them not giving way much room.
Harry could feel his power being drained from him, in his exhausted state this was not good for the longevity of the fight. He knew he had to get out of it and fast, so he decided quickly to redirect it away from him but the beam was redirected below him causing the floor he was standing on to shatter and he started to fall. Harry rolled around quite a bit after landing feeling his elbows bruise from his fall, he looked up and right across from him he saw a door not too far away. If only he could get away for a little bit to regain his strength, his hand reached for the door but the dark lord had other ideas.
His wrist was being wrapped by a sort of wrapping that felt like it was crushing his wrist with amazing force, he tried to pull it free using his free hand but that too was wrapped by the same material. He struggled to pull them down but then his air was cut off momentarily when the same material wrapped against his throat choking him for a few moments. Then he was dragged against the floor roughly before being pulled up and towards the dark lord. Harry's eyes grew wide at the helpless feeling he was feeling being slowly lifted towards the dark lord without any way of breaking free.
When they got close Harry was still being strangled by his wrist but his throat was free and was quickly replaced by Voldemort's cold frail hand. His eyes pierced into his with a tint of red anger in them "Why do you live?" asked Voldemort as if to question why the boy would continue to defy him. Harry could have laughed at his face for such an easy question, against his clutches Harry managed to say "Because I have someone worth living for."
Hermione continued her way around the castle searching for Harry desperately wanting to help him. She moved her head about to see any trace of him, a clue to possibly tell her where he was. But she saw nothing but a pair of death eaters who stood by the steps having just scared off a pair of fourth years who were fighting them. They snarled and laughed knowing who she was, Hermione slowly backed away behind an opened column thinking of a plan of attack. Her lower lip was bleeding from a cut she didn't realize she had back during her fight with Bellatrix. She knew she could take them on but her mind was still on Harry not wanting to spend too much time with these goofs.
The two of them continued to laugh waving their wands about as if to taunt her into making a stupid move. But she was not having it, Hermione raised her wand ready to fight them but was interrupted when a figure came out of nowhere punching the one death eater unconscious while managing to shoulder the other onto the stairs below like a crash mat. "Draco! What the hell are you doing!" Lucius called out from where they were, beside him was Narcissa who Hermione remembered from her portrait at Grimmauld Place.
"Shut up father! You no longer speak for this family!" Draco called out to his father which made him quiet at the outburst. Narcissa looked to her husband with a small smile seeing the man her son had become. Draco raised his head towards Hermione after getting off the death eater "Granger… I mean Hermione, go… Potter needs you." his words didn't sound like the Draco they had known for the years of attempted torment. This Draco was different and Hermione saw that, she proceeded to quickly hug him as a thank you before running out to find Harry once again.
Draco walked back up to his parents and all his father could do was look back at him confounded. Narcissa smiled at her son and was the one to speak breaking the silence of the Malfoys "Let's go home." she said softly as they made their way around all the fighting not looking back just forward towards the exit away from the castle.
Ron and Luna continued to fire spells at Nagini until they reached the bottom of the stairs, he looked out into the courtyard and saw his family fighting there and he wanted to go and have them help him but he wasn't paying attention and he slipped on rubble bringing Luna down with him. She screamed as the both of them fell into a pile of rubble near a huge window, Luna looked up at Ron with wide eyes "Ron I'm scared." she said shivering in fear of their death. Ron took her into his arms and held her tight "I'll protect you Luna… I won't let anything hurt you." he said confidently, Luna broke free a bit from his embrace and looked him in the eyes before kissing him. At first Ron was surprised but he quickly fell into it not questioning it any longer as they both thought they were going to die.
Neville scrunched up his face and mustered all the Gryffindor courage and momentum he could muster to save his friends. Ron still had Luna held tight in a long embrace and Nagini extended her fangs ready to bite them. Neville lifted the sword into a hard swing that just got the bottom of Nagini's head, cutting it clean off. Normally the head would fall to the floor but the magical properties of the sword made the giant snake disintegrate into nothingness in a flash.
Neville lowered the sword making a clang sound when it touched the floor due to its weight, he took in a deep breath to regather his strength that he lost during his swing. When he looked back at his friends and saw them still entangled together he sheepishly asked "Um you guys okay?" his eyes scrunching together to see if they were indeed hurt in some way but he saw no blood. Ron felt his arm spread as Luna came to look at Neville, feeling a bit of anger at his friend who had just ruined his moment with her he smiled faintly at him "Uh… yeah… thanks Neville."
Ron took to his feet helping Luna up, he saw in her eyes that they needed to get out of there. He took her hand and led her away from all the rubble while giving Neville an annoyed look. "What?" Neville asked Ron as he walked past him but he never got an answer, he just blinked rapidly trying to figure out what he did wrong.
Voldemort felt Nagini's loss causing him to release Harry from his clutches, Harry fell to the floor clutching his throat as he gasped for the air he had lost. The dark lord held onto a railing nearby as if he had been shot, Harry looked at him and his hope shone brighter knowing his friends found a way to kill Nagini. Harry swallowed and walked towards Voldemort cautiously "Without that you're nothing…" he had his wand pointed strictly at him but he made the mistake of thinking he was too weak to fight back. Voldemort used his anger to make up for the loss, pushing Harry aside with a concussive spell onto the ground once again.
He did something Harry did not expect, he kicked him in the gut when he was down. Harry crawled using his hands and knees to get away from Voldemort knowing quite well an angry man is a dangerous one. "You were right… when you told Professor Snape that the elder wand was failing you…" As well as uncontrollable one, the dark lord only thought of the moment not a few steps ahead so Harry used this to his advantage seeing a destroyed wall nearby that would lead to the ravine. "It will always fail you…" Harry crawled towards it after taking each blow from Voldemort trying to get him there.
Fleur helped her husband up after Greyback had tossed him against a wall. The French witch casted a powerful water spell pushing Greyback farther away from them as they regrouped. "Bill are you okay?" he weakly nodded "Whatever happens I have to end this now." Bill growled his eyes turning bright almost glowing knowing quite well that only another werewolf can match Greyback's strength. He didn't turn completely still remaining in his human form but his hands turned into claws and his teeth sharpened. Greyback seemed to grin at the sight of another of his kind, they fought hand to hand for about ten minutes before they got into an intense grapple. Bill deducted that he couldn't win by himself having resented his powers while Greyback embraced them, he turned to his wife Fleur who stood with her wand at the ready "Fleur! Do it now!" he called out and she nodded.
Bill used most of his strength to throw Greyback into the air and Fleur used her magic to have roots sprung from the ground and wrap around Greyback's body. His strength proved useless as the roots wrapped around him tight, he did continue to struggle while below him Bill turned back into his human form completely. Still weak from his transformation he raised his wand shakily and casted a strong charm that pushed Greyback into a pillar with great force. His skull hit it hard and quick causing multiple fractures, the roots that were controlled by Fleur tightened their hold strangling him until his eyes seemed lifeless. Using her magic Fleur commanded the roots to throw Greyback's body into a nearby fire where the corpse burned into a skeleton. Bill watched in almost enjoyment as the man who had hurt him and changed him forever was finally gone "My nightmares are over." he breathed while Fleur ran to his side.
Harry stood up and put his back behind a destroyed column right by the edge "I killed Snape!" the dark lord said frustrated. "But what if the wand never belonged to Snape? It's allegiance was to someone else? From the very moment you took that wand from Albus Dumbledore grave!" Harry kept pressing the dark lord until he got real close to him "No! Impossible!" he spat at Harry's face. He could see that he was close enough now "Come on Tom, let's finish this the way we started… together!" Harry grabbed her neck tightly pulling them through the opening they stood by into the cavern below.
The dark lord scream could be heard all the way throughout the grounds as Harry and him fell towards the ground. Knowing quite well that he'd want to survive to kill Potter with his wand, the dark lord apparated with the boy. Turning the surroundings around them into a puff of black smoke and their bodies turned inside and out. It felt like back at the ministry's fireplaces as they tore at each other, Voldemort's nails digging into Harry's face trying to crush him to death with his hands. Harry fought back with a few good punches landed but with the power of the apparition pulling on him like a black hole his arm retracted back.
They collided with the towers and the building causing bricks to fall towards the grounds beneath them, it was like an uncontrollable flight because they were more focused on each other. Harry found his way back to the dark lord's face but at this rate he was losing his mind with where to concentrate his power. He screamed confused until the both of them landed rather roughly at the courtyard alone just the two of them, their landing causing their wands to scatter.
They both crawled towards their wands not wanting to give the other the advantage. Harry looked across at the dark lord who was crawling just like him towards the elder wand, amazingly Harry was the first to his wand but Voldemort wasn't that far behind quickly casting another killing curse his way. "Avada Kedvra!" "Expelliarmus!" just like the many times they fought their beams collided once again as their cores could not outmatch the other. Both Harry and Voldemort had nothing else to give so they knew this would be the last time their beams would clash. Harry felt a pang of pain from all the physical beating he had endured earlier causing him to stubble a bit but turning around his saw his friends gather.
"Harry! The snake is dead!" Ron called out proudly; Luna held his hand tight alongside his other friends. Seamus, Dean and the other Weasleys looked worriedly at him as they too knew this would be the last clash. Katie Bell appeared helping Oliver Wood who was wounded by the leg towards where they were. Ginny clung onto Neville who looked more bruised than wear having survived an explosion and a huge blast from the dark lord. The last face he saw scanning through his friends and family was the most important one of all, Hermione… who smiled back at him with an expression of being scared and proud of him at the same time. His body warmed at her presence and Harry felt his strength come back, he looked back at Voldemort and pushed his beam closer to the dark lord.
"My friends, my family… are my strength Tom! It's a power you will never understand!" Harry called out as his power continued to surge pushing the dark lord's green beam back towards him. "No!" he called out in horror as he could feel the elder wand start to crack from Harry's immense power. "You're evil is over! For my family! For all the people you have hurt! You will hurt no longer!" Harry called out his voice echoing around the castle grounds, a crowd seemed to gather from the sounds of steps by the entrance doors. Harry looked to his sides and saw his parents and Sirius standing next to him, they nodded at him and he nodded back screaming out loud as he poured every ounce of magic energy from his core into his beam pushing it towards the dark lord.
The killing curse that Voldemort had casted rebounded on him like it did that one faithful night. And Harry's spell still carried power lifting the elder wand from the dark lord's clutches high into the sky until Harry caught it. And the moment he has been waiting for all his life, the moment his nightmares would be over was happening in front of him. The dark lord Tom Riddle gave one last yell before his body disintegrated into nothing from Harry's immense surge of power. Harry looked tiredly at where the dark lord was and only saw the bridge leading to the forbidden forest. He exhaled as if relieving a great deal of pressure from his chest before out of random his eyes drew back and his eyes fluttered close. The last thing he heard was his friends calling his name before he blacked out.
His eyes saw nothing but darkness, his core was exhausted from all the power he had used up. It took time for it to heal and gather up his power for him to even function properly. Harry was taken to the hospital wing and has been there for days recovering. Madame Pomfrey looked over him with the added bonus of Hermione who never left his side. Ron smiled a bit seeing the complete mirror of when Hermione had been petrified but in opposite places. He would occasionally visit whenever he had free time from Luna and his rotating tasks helping clean up the school.
A few of the students proposed using the elder wand to help clean up the school faster but was met with much resistance leaving it with Harry until he had a say to what to do with it. So it laid at his side on a nearby table with Draco's and Harry's original wand that was snapped when they escaped Godric's hollow. Below the table were rows of flowers from the survivors as a way to express their thanks to their savior for ending the horror that was the dark lord. Even though many would argue that the threat was still out there with the remaining death eaters still free to do whatever they wanted but it wouldn't take long for Kingsley to go after them with his Aurors. Without the power of their lord to fall behind most of the death eaters were easily dispatched and taken in without a crazy fight.
Hermione opened her eyes with the left side of her face against Harry's bed sheets, she raised her head up quickly like she did ever so often to check if he was awake but she saw that he was still asleep. A smile appeared on her face seeing him so peaceful; she silently thanked Madam Pomfrey once again for cleaning his wounds making him look as if the war never happened. The only sign she carried was a bandage on her lower lip that was meant to have the potion work better. She could have had her lip fixed days before but she refused treatment till Harry got his first.
"Is it over?" croaked a voice causing Hermione to glance back at Harry who was slowly opening his eyes, she squealed and put her hands on each side of his face tears beginning to fall from her eyes. "Do I look that bad?" Harry managed a smirk groaning at the soreness of his body, Hermione laughed and hugged him tight. "Madam Pomfrey said you used most of your core and your body just gave out when you defeated him… oh Harry I was so scared." Ron appeared from the main doors with Luna, Dean, Seamus, Neville, Ginny and many others. Each of them with different expressions on their faces but they all shared a smile for him. "We never thought for a second you were a goner mate." Ron said smiling pulling Luna in for a hug.
"Well not all of us, pay up Seamus." Dean said smirking extending his hand out to his friend who rolled his eyes and reached into his pocket pulling out a few sickles. "What was that?" Harry asked rather curious at what just happened, Dean smirked "Seamus and I betted that you'd be awake before two weeks' time, Seamus betted the later saying that baldy gave you so much of a fight he too would be out for that long." Harry looked between the two of them "Well it's true he gave me a fight but come on Seamus you underestimate my bruise healing powers." he said making everyone in the room chuckle.
Hermione loosened her hold but scooted herself onto Harry's side on the bed, Ron smirked at Harry who asked "Well how long was I asleep?" it had to be long enough for them to even make a bet about it. "Three days, four hours, thirty minutes and fifty five seconds." Hermione answered proudly beside him, Harry turned to her surprised "I couldn't sleep and well counting was inevitable." she blushed under his gaze. "Yeah bloody mental she was, staring at a clock just counting." Ron said quickly earning a stomp by Luna that made him scrunch up his face a bit at the pain before smiling back at his friends.
Memories of the battle slowly flooded back to him, his eyes grew wide at panic "Remus? Tonks? Fred, George and the others?" he asked about the ones he didn't see around them. Neville and Dean moved aside showing Remus more clearly who was behind them "All safe and well… Harry" Remus smiled down at him, Harry's heart lifted. His mind allowed himself to imagine his parents and Sirius beside Remus smiling down at him; he lowered his head back onto the pillow "Thank Merlin." he sighs in relief.
"Speaking of Fred and George I bet neither of them would have guessed Ron and Luna getting together, heck not even Ginny and Neville." Seamus said chuckling thinking he was incredibly funny, Dean looked at him oddly nudging his shoulder "Seamus they knew mate." Seamus looked at him confused while Luna put her head on Ron's shoulder "They what?" as if in disbelief "They already knew, we all did… Nev and Ginny well that took a while though." Neville smiled shyly which Ginny countered with a kiss on the cheek.
"Oh right, Madam Pomfrey told me to give you this when you woke up." Hermione said reaching to her side at the bedside table taking a cup filled with a green colored liquid, Harry took it uneasily knowing that it was a potion of sorts and he had bad history with Madam Pomfrey's potions. "It's supposed to help with your recovery, whether it be your sores or bruises." Hermione told him but it didn't make the decision to drink it any easier, Harry looked at the liquid and gulped "Did you guys have a taste? Better or worse than skele grow?" Ron, Seamus and Dean chuckled a bit, Hermione took his hand into hers and helped him pour the drink into his mouth "Just drink it Harry…" she said softly as the liquid passed his lips and into his throat.
"Funny to think from all the years you've been here that you'd get used to the taste of these things." Ron joked out loud but then bursted out laughing at the sight of pure disgust in Harry's face, mentally describing the taste as cranberry mixed with green apple and orange into a single drink. Harry groaned as he waited for the taste to leave forever, the door creaked open once again and then Draco came into view within the crowd.
"Potter…" he started and Harry nodded slightly "Draco…" then all the eyes were on Malfoy awaiting his next words. Draco looked between them still dressed in his black dress robes "I'm here for my wand and well to thank you for you know." Harry nodded reaching over for Draco's wand and allowing him to win it back; it flew high into the sky and back to the Draco's possession. The Malfoy boy didn't have much training with thanking and gratitude having brought up in such a dark background since childhood. "You're welcome, Draco does your family know you're here?" Harry asked not seeing Narcissa and Lucius behind him. Draco shook his head "My father can kiss a sock for all I care, I'm my own man."
Harry smirked at Draco who seemed proud of his statement, he looked to his side when he felt Hermione's eyes pierce him "Draco saved me during the battle when I was cornered by two death eaters." Curious Harry looked back at Draco who looked sheepish as if it was nothing, Ron added "I didn't believe it myself at first too Harry."
"Thanks Draco… for saving her, even though she didn't need it… thank you." Harry managed to outstretched his hand for Draco to shake, they clasped and shook hands "I could say we'd be even but after defeating the dark lord you put owing you into a whole another level Potter." After successfully shaking hands, Harry shook his head at his schoolboy nickname "Draco, call me Harry… everything's changed now."
"Right Potter… I mean Harry, you're right everything has changed and for the better." Draco even managed a small smile in front of everyone clearly showing Harry that many things have changed "No doubt." Draco looked between them once again as if asking if he could leave "Well I better get going Pansy is an inpatient woman." Harry nodded knowing quite well to not keep a woman waiting "Right… tell your mother thank you for me." Draco nodded at his request and made his leave "Sure, Harry goodbye all."
Hermione turned confused at Harry's words "What was that Harry?" he smiled knowing that now wasn't the time "Later, Professor McGonagall was there any proceedings I missed?" the elderly witch stepped closer to Harry and looked at him with a warm expression on her face ready to talk about the deceased "The fountain at the courtyard would be rebuilt as a pensive and a memorial for those who have fallen during the battle of Hogwarts. Their memories and lives in Hogwarts will forever be immortalized in this pool of memorial."
Harry's eyes grew wide once again that sounded amazing and the best they could do for every soul that couldn't see the next day. Then his thoughts came up on all the families and their own mourning "There was a memorial for the ones who have passed a few days back, you were pardoned of course knowing your condition. Everyone understood and was able to be with their loved ones, Potter… I mean Harry there's no need to seek them out they're already moving onto the future." Harry wanted to say otherwise but he understood that the last thing these families needed were for him to open closing wounds to tell them how sorry he was.
"That's also something I wanted to ask you about Professor, what will happen to the school?" it should be brought up as a memorial around the fountain or something of sorts. "Of course we'll open it again, I believe that's what Albus and the others would want." A smile came upon Harry as he knew that was what Dumbledore would have wanted to keep Hogwarts a shining beacon for light through the darkness. To help future generations find themselves as Harry and his friends have all the time they spent on the grounds "Right, so we can return to finish our last year?" Harry asked in earnest knowing that they had missed their last year, Hermione squeezed his hand happily "Of course, the choice is yours."
Ron peeked into their eyesight "I sure hope you're not talking for all of us mate, I'd like to have some fun before returning to books and homework." Luna came into focus once again making both Hermione and Harry smile "Of course not mate and I couldn't agree with you more…" he was about to say something more before Kingsley came through the others cutting him off "Harry… if I may add, you and Mr. Weasley and all that have fought here will have an opportunity for jobs at the ministry. Every department is open for this opportunity once I get back and clean it up."
"That's great and thanks Kingsley, but I would want a request." Harry said surely, everyone looked as if they were holding their breaths awaiting to do what his request required "Come on mate, for the savior of the whole bloody world you can wish for the moon and they'll give to you… for a limited time of course we need that round thing." Ron added which made the others shake their head at his weird comment. "I want a month of leave before returning to the wizarding world in any fashion." His job he was unintentionally bred for had been over and he needed his time away to regather himself "Of course Harry… you of all people deserve that, I will hold the press back until you return and are ready."
Harry gave him a warm smile filled with gratitude "Thank you Kingsley." The minister nodded his head excusing himself from the group; McGonagall spoke once again "The offer will still stand whether you return to Hogwarts or not Harry…" Harry grinned back at McGonagall as a sort of reassurance "Of course I'll return Professor, Hogwarts is my second home."
His friends and family smiled knowing quite well that they felt the same way about the place, Ron raised an eyebrow at his friend "And your first mate?" Harry smiled pulling his love closer to him, her hands falling to his chest laughing as they lock eyes "With Hermione." Ron smiled but still decided to roll his eyes "Why did I even bother asking?" he said shaking his head, everyone laughed around the two.
Harry recovered after a few days and used the elder wand as its rightful master to rebuild Hogwarts with its power. The school looked as if it was rebuilding itself taking only about half an hour to complete rebuilding everything, after it was done it looked as if it was untouched. The last thing Harry ever did with the elder wand was use it to mend his first wand the one that had snapped and thankfully the wand was so powerful it was possible to do so. Harry held it in his hand and instantly felt the warmth and power he had when he was a child return to him. He did for a second contemplate on owning two wands at one time but then again he knew where the elder wand belonged. Harry handed the wand to Professor McGonagall as he was about to have say his peace to all his loved ones before he left with Hermione. McGonagall returned the wand to Dumbledore's tomb and casted a few more protection spells around the tomb as well as charming knights close to the tomb for extra protection.
7 days later…
The new sunrise made room light up with a light yellow tint, as the couple that saved the world laid. The light white silk sheets wrapped around his body surprisingly creating a cool atmosphere that his body took a liking to. It was almost too comfortable that Harry could possibly want to spend all day in their bed but he had plans. Plans that were months in the making, with everything he had to do gone and finished there was nothing holding him back. His nose filled with the familiar sent of vanilla, he opened his eyes slowly to see Hermione smiling down at him with the sweetest smile.
"Morning beautiful." he said huskily having just woken up, if it were possible her smile grew wider "Morning you…" she said sweetly. The sheets hanging to the side of her torso close to not fully covering her exposed chest, "How did you sleep?" Harry asked lifting himself up against the bedrest. She looked up thoughtfully as if finding the right answer "Well ii can't say that I didn't have fun… Harry I'm only teasing of course I slept amazingly." They both laugh; Harry leaned over a kissed her sweetly on the lips before getting up and dressed. Breakfast was served to them by Harry who had taken the items Hermione packed in her magical bag and made omelets, French toast buttered with Nutella, grapes and orange juice on the side. They shared more laughs when they had a small grape fight throwing them at each other across the room using their hands and spoons.
After breakfast they made their way towards the beach, the warm sun meeting them. They dropped their bag of items at a sand hill before running towards the water taking off their clothes. Each article of clothing flew every which way but they didn't care they were too into the moment. They laughed and giggled when they reached the water splashing about until they got to shoulder length in the water. Harry lowered himself to get his hair wet and when he resurfaced he shook his head wildly like a wet dog which made Hermione squeal at the water droplets flying away. Harry swam towards her and hugged her tight; Hermione wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him passionately. When they pulled away Hermione splashed Harry accidentally which caused him to fire back making her gasp and they engaged in a water fight.
When they went back to shore they sat against the sand with the waves still touching their toes whenever they would crash nearby. That was all they could hear, the gentle breeze and the sounds of waves crashing "So seven days in this island alone, so glad Kingsley knew of this place." Harry said sighing with his elbows against the sand. Hermione squeezed water out of her ponytail "This isn't Paris but it'll do if I can wake up next to you every morning." she teased him with a smile "Come on how many times do I have to tell you Paris is next week's trip."
"As many times as I want, until I'm there." She teased closing her eyes to bask in the sun, Harry's heart beated faster knowing this was his chance. He raised his hand and casted wandless magic summoning a small box from the bag they had set down earlier "Well speaking of Paris, I was going to wait there but this sunset is too perfect to waste." Harry stood up and took her hand lifting her up to her feet "Harry what are you on about?" She opens her eyes and quickly gasps as Harry gets on one knee; his heart beated uncontrollably as he swallowed hard there was no turning back. The sunlight was hitting them just perfectly; this moment was too perfect to waste.
"Hermione…" he started; her hands flew to her mouth it was really happening. "I would like to start by saying I'm madly in love with you, you're my world… there would be nothing without you here with me. I can't imagine a life without you, you are the first and last thing on my mind, when I'm dreaming or even when I'm awake it's all you. You're the reason I won against Voldemort, the girl worth fighting for… you've always been with me, helped me, stood by me even in my not so glorious times but that's only a short summary of why I love you. Hermione Jane Granger would you marry me?"
Hermione was filled with happy tears, she leaped towards Harry "Catch me!" he did and she hugged him tight "Of course I do, a hundred thousand times yes!" Harry laughed and hugged her just as tight. She pulled away and wiped away a few tears so she could see him clearly once again "I love you…" she said softly, he smiled back at her "I'm going to love you for the rest of my life." He slowly put the ring onto her finger and she laughed as she couldn't hold back the biggest smile on her face.
Harry pulled her into a kiss that quickly turned passionate, the both of them filled with so much happiness and love for the other. He lowered her onto the sand and started to caress her face with his hands as well as her body. Hermione smiled sweetly against his lips before pulling away for a moment, a thought came across her mind "Harry there's something I have to tell you." she said softly their eyes piercing the other only inches apart. "Anything, Mione." he searched for any sign of discomfort or anything but found nothing; she continued to smile up at him letting the news free "I'm pregnant."
