A/N: The ending is a little cheesy, I know. I hope you all still enjoy it :)

Laxus threw the car into a parking spot, hardly making it between the lines. Layla, running on auto-pilot, jumped out of the car and towards the hospital doors. Laxus, Sting, and Yukino ran inside, but they weren't moving quit as recklessly. Rogue's parents pulled in just as the trio were stepping out of the car.
When they got inside the building, they were directed to the proper waiting room. There, they saw Layla running up to Rogue and throwing her arms around him and sobbing loudly. He smiled sadly at her and returned her embrace.
"The doctor told me to bring you up when you got here," Rogue told her. "She's down that hallway, third door on the right. She's sleeping now, but she's fine." Layla nodded before hurrying off.
"Where's Lucy?" Jude asked, pushing his way into the room. To everyone's surprise, Gray and his family were right behind him. "Please tell me she's alright."
"Dad," Laxus said sadly, running up to him. He threw his arms around him. "I'm so sorry. I didn't know I would cause her so much pain."
"It's okay," Jude said. "We don't blame you. Or anyone else." It was clear his last comment was directed towards Gray. "Let's go see her." He and Laxus went down the hallway Rogue directed Layla to, holding hands for assurance.
Gray let out a shaky breath, taking everything in. Rogue's parents were taking to Sting and Yukino, trying to piece together a story. Rogue was pacing, and Gray felt so shame in interrupting him. "What the hell is going on?" he asked. "Did you let something hurt her?"
Anger flashed across Rogue's face. He grabbed Gray by the front of his shirt. "I don't know who told you that you can be here, but get away. I'm not letting you anywhere near her," he spat.
Gray jerked away. "Why do I have to leave?" he asked. "I didn't do anything!"
Rogue scoffed. "Yeah, you're right. You didn't do anything. You didn't break up with her. You didn't break her heart. And you really didn't make her feel like she wasn't worth anything. You knew she was already not eating, yet you had to go and make things worse."
Gray's eyes widened. He knew Lucy was super skinny, yes, but he was never able to accept that the girl was starving herself. If he had known that he would make things even worse, he would have never done things the way he did.
Natsu came into the room with a relieved look. Rogue had called him before he took Lucy to the hospital, so he was able to meet them there. He was kind enough to sit with Lucy while Rogue waited for Layla. He was surprised and angry that Gray was there, but he knew that delivering the news about Lucy was more important.
"She'll be fine," Natsu told them all. "The doctor said that the stress Lucy is malnourished and would have eventually crashed, and the added stress today just made it happen sooner. He said they'll keep her for a few days before she can go home. They wanted to send her to Rehab, but we all assured him that we would closely watch Lucy and help her. I'm glad, because I think being in that situation would be too much for her."
"I'm going to go see her," Rogue said. He made sure to hit Gray's shoulder on his way out of the room.
Layla and Jude gladly left the room to let Rogue have a minute with Lucy. They wanted to speak with the doctor alone anyways, they told him. Rogue was grateful. Lucy was already awake, and she visibly relaxed when she saw Rogue.
"Rogue," she said, trembling. "I...I'm so sorry."
Rogue sat down beside her bed and grabbed her hand. "No, don't be sorry," he told her. "I'm the one that's sorry. I should have been there for you more. I know that you've been going through a rough time since Laxus left, and I wasn't there."
"No, stop," Lucy pleaded.
"You need to hear this, Lucy," Rogue told her. "I've loved you since we were kids. It was horrible to watch you be with Gray, and I should have acted sooner. Instead, I didn't say anything and I let you give him so much power."
Lucy smiled. "I love you, too, Rogue."
"From now on…" Rogue began.
Lucy shook her head and squeezed his hand. "No, Rogue. I'm done thinking about the future and worrying about it. I want to live one day at a time. Starting now."
Rogue kissed her gently on the forehead. "I think you should sleep."
"Will you stay with me?" she asked.
Rogue nodded and smiled. "I'll always stay with you."
