Throughout her many years of being Queen of the Changelings, Chrysalis had learned that love had many different tastes, depending on who she was taking it from.

Breaking apart a couple by impersonating one of them was bitter at first - like something burnt to a crisp - but it eventually rolled out into something sweeter than sugar. Working as a prostitute for petty love was like swallowing sand, but it fed her so she had no complaints. Manipulating hearts into thinking she loved them was sour but in a tolerable way, like certain cheap candies.

However, her favorite taste of all time was the taste of somepony actually in love with her, and the feeling being mutual, because they knew who she truly was.

Not many souls got the chance to know this, and nor did they have time to understand it.

Funny how the least likely of ponies gave her a chance.

Appreciative didn't even begin to cover how Chrysalis felt.

What with her reputation, it had been a long time since she took a true lover, but in her very long lifetime, she had three over the course of the years. Real love tasted different everytime, she realized, depending on who she was with. The taste often reflected their personality. Her first lover was like bubblegum, sweet and lasting... for a while, anyway. The consequences of falling for a mortal, she supposed. Her second was chilling like mint, which was fitting due to the mysterious and dark aura.

But apparently, as the famous saying goes, third time was the charm.

And now, Chrysalis found an immortal to indulge in.

She lightly traced her fangs against her lover's neck, nibbling here and there as she peppered kisses along the ivory coat.

"C-careful with the teeth, dear. You know how improper I find those scars of yours."

Chrysalis let out a soft hiss, and released a soft chuckle. "You always were a horrible liar, my angel," she murmured.

A sigh of contentment and annoyance escaped her lover. "How many times have I said for you not to call me that?"

"Why are you against it?" Chrysalis teased. "Your name means heavenly, and you certainly are a beautiful sight to see."

Celestia fidgeted underneath the grip of her Queen and stammered. However, her expression gave away her answer, and Chrysalis let out a victorious laugh.

She intertwined her hooves with the Princess's, locking their gazes. "Are you blushing, angel?"

"Shut up and kiss me," Celestia muttered.

"You look so cute this way!" Chrysalis said, with a smirk. "Oh, just give me a moment. I don't think I've ever seen you this adorable."

However, Celestia wrapped a foreleg around the Changeling's neck, and pulled her in for a kiss. Chrysalis seized up for a moment, and enjoyed the embrace for a solid moment. She held onto the Princess, gently fondling the alicorn's wings, making Celestia slightly gasp. Chrysalis smiled, and began drinking in the taste of love.

Not artificial love.

Or the lying and deceitful kind.

Real, true, heartwarming, butterfly-inducing, and beautiful love.

...it tasted like lemonade.

Just like her angel - sour and strict sometimes, but deep down, the sweetest and most simple treat.
