Chapter 14

Austin felt guilty; the rotten, heart wrenching guilt that he wasn't expecting to feel the moment he heard Ally's voice on the phone. She was crying, and he could hear it in the way her voice was shaking as she went on about what she had been so afraid of. And he had caused it; Austin had been the one to cause her tears, and now he couldn't feel any worse than he already did.

He drove to her apartment almost immediately, running to her door at full speed. He was about to knock on the door, when the apartment door flew open to reveal a frantic Ally with tears spilling form her eyes. She wore a simple purple tank top, with some jeans and a pair of flip flops, her arms folded across her chest as she sniffed. Austin walking in, closing the door behind them, and then pulling her into his chest.

She only broke down more, wrapping her arms around his figure and tightening her grip in a way that caused his heart to sink. He planted his chin ontop of her head after placing a soft kiss on her dark hair. ''It's okay, Alls, it's going to be okay''

''How could someone do this to us?'' she cried, staring up with those chocolate eyes of her. He gently ran his fingers down her cheek, a clear frown on his lips. ''How could someone just put our son out there?''

Austin took a deep breath, shrugging his shoulders. ''They were going to find out eventually''

Or maybe I'm just saying that to calm the guilt that's eating me alive

''Still, it was someone close to us, I just can't imagine why they would do it''

''Listen, let's just take a deep breath'' He walked towards the couch, and gently placed his hands on her shoulders to sit her down. Kneeling down so that he had clear sight of her, he forced a small smile. ''I know this seems horrible, but think about it, it's for the best. I want to be able to walk around with Andy, and plus, people are finding out that Jimmy's forcing me to go on tour. Maybe they can help stop it somehow''

Ally raised an eyebrow, sniffing. ''How'd you know that they found out about the tour thing?''

''Uh,'' Austin chuckled, nervously running his fingers through hid blond hair. ''I heard about it on TV after you called''

''Oh great,'' she hid her face into her hands, sighing. ''I just want this to go away''

That's when loud cries begun to come from the hall, and watching a sorrowful Ally rise to her feet once again, he shook his head. ''No, it's okay. I'll get Andy. Just sit here and try to relax''

Walking down the hall, and entering the room, Austin smiled at the sight of the small baby boy wrapped up in a blue blanket crying. Gently picking him up, and placing a kiss on his forehead, he cradled him in his arms. Just looking at his little Andy and knowing he was leaving, made his stomach turn, but there was hope that something could be done. There was always hope, right?

''Oh, my baby boy'' Ally called out, wiping her tears away as soon as she saw the two of them entering the living room.

Placing him in her arms, Austin took a seat next to her on the couch, with his head hovering above her shoulder as he observed their son. The moment didn't last long, as there was a knock on the apartment door.

As soon as Austin opened it, Dez and Trish quickly ran to Ally's side.

''We heard the news,'' Trish looked down at her best friend with clear concern in her eyes. ''Are you guys okay? I can't believe someone would just tell everyone your secret!"

''We're okay, but you're right! Whoever did this obviously meant harm!'' Ally cried out, rocking the baby in her arms.

Austin turned to look at Dez, who turned to look at him as well.

Don't make it obvious, don't act like your heart is beating out of your chest

''Well, maybe they didn't mean harm! I mean they did mention me having to go to tour!'' Austin shouted, glancing around the room. ''Maybe they wanted to stop Jimmy''

''Oh, please, they obviously just wanted the attention'' Trish rolled her eyes, as to which Ally nodded.

''Listen, Trish, why don't you take Ally out for a walk. Dez and I can stay here with Andy'' he looked down at Ally, brushing a strand of hair from her face. ''Alls, you need to clear your mind''

She didn't say anything at first, until she took a deep breath. ''Yeah, you're right. Trish, will you come with me?''

The Latina girl nodded, managing a smile. ''Of course''

After handing him Andy, and grabbing a few things, the girl lefts and it was just Austin and Dez left. It was only mere seconds after the door was shut, that Dez spoke up.

''I know it was you,'' his gaze stared down at the floor, refusing to meet Austin's.

Austin sighed, leaning his head back and holding on tightly to his son. ''How?''

''Please, you've been my best friend since we were in elementary school. You think you could hide something as stupid as that from me?''

''Listen, Dez, you have to understand-''

''I understand,'' Dez looked up, placing his hand on his best friend's shoulder. ''Just don't let Ally find out, okay?''

Austin nodded, and for the rest of the day, he tried not to think too much about it; even if it was eating him alive.

I want to apologize for not updating in like almost a year, believe me this story is important to me, and I understand I'm an awful person for not updating. I just knew I couldn't leave this story without an ending (I reread the chapters and im surprised at how awful of a writer and grammar person I was), and I promise to at least leave you with a closing as soon as I can in just a couple of chapters. Thank you for those who stayed (: Love you all!
