Today

Ty woke up to the sound of a frying pan hitting the stove. He opened his eyes and saw his mom flipping a pancake.

"Mom what are you doing?"

"Well I can't let my boy get married without eating a proper breakfast."

Ty got out of bed and looked outside. His face dropped when he saw the dark clouds covering the sky.

"Don't worry. I'm sure it'll clear up by the time the wedding starts," said Lily when she noticed Ty staring out the window.

"Where is Sarah?" asked Ty as he looked around his trailer.

"She left earlier to help set up," responded Lily.

Lily added the last pancake to the stack on a plate and then set the plate on the table. Ty sat down and began to eat. "This is delicious."

"I wish I could've done more of this for you when you were a kid," said Lily as she sat down across from Ty.

"It's okay Mom. I'm just really happy that you're here."

Lily smiled. "I know I don't say this often enough, but I am so proud of you."

Amy was in the kitchen staring out the window as she gulped down a glass of orange juice.

"It'll clear up soon," said Peter as he entered the kitchen.

"What?"

"The sky. It'll clear up soon," repeated Peter.

"Oh. Yeah I hope so," said Amy as she put her cup in the sink.

"Are you okay?" asked Peter as he grabbed a fresh muffin out of a basket that Lisa had brought over in the morning.

"Yeah. I'm just worried about the weather," said Amy.

Peter nodded. "Well let me tell you from experience. If it's meant to be it usually works out."

Amy smiled. "Thanks Peter."

Ty looked up when he heard the sound of an engine outside. "That must be Caleb."

"I'll clean this up," said Lily as she got up and grabbed his plate.

"Thanks Mom," responded Ty as he went to open the door.

"Your best man is here and ready to take you to your wedding," said Caleb as he walked towards the trailer.

"Hey Caleb," said Ty.

Caleb walked into the trailer. "So Lou gave me specific instructions before I left."

"I'm not surprised."

"Hi Ty's mom," said Caleb.

"Hi Caleb," responded Lily with a laugh as she cleaned the dishes.

"So I have to take you directly to the dude ranch where you will get ready. And then at exactly two you have to ride your bike over to the barn. And I have to make sure you don't sneak off to go see Amy. Yeah I think that's everything."

Ty laughed. "Okay. Let me just get my tux and then we can go."

"Okay I'll go put your bike in the back of my truck."

"Caleb make sure you get him there. No funny business," said Lily sternly.

"You don't have to tell me twice."

Amy pushed open the barn door and walked in. She went up to Spartan and took him out of the stall.

"Hey Boy," said Amy.

She took a brush from the bin and began to brush him. Ty and she had decided that they wanted Spartan and Harley to be a part of the ceremony in some way. After all horses were a big part of both their lives.

"Today's a big day, so I need you to be good for me," said Amy as she brushed him.

"Hey Amy," said Lou as she entered the barn.

"Hey Lou," said Amy as she put the brush down.

"Um your bridesmaids just left to get ready. I think it's time the bride gets ready too," said Lou with a smile.

"Okay. Hey Lou. Thank you. For everything. Having you with me makes the pain of Mom not being here hurt a little less," said Amy.

Lou hugged Amy. "Now go. I'll make sure Spartan and Harley are ready."

"Thanks," said Amy as she rushed out of the barn.

Tim walked up the porch and sat down on the bench.

"I see you chose to wear your one and only suit," said Tim with a laugh.

Jack stared off into the distance not looking amused.

"The weather's not looking too promising," said Tim.

"It'll get better. I know it will," said Jack.

Tim took his cowboy hat off and rested it on his knee. "Listen Jack. We have to deal with the Elephant in the room."

"What do you mean?" asked Jack.

"You know. Who's going to walk Amy down the aisle?"

"If you think that you're walking her down the aisle alone. Then you got another thing coming," began Jack with anger in his voice.

"Jack. I want you to do it," said Tim.

"Wait. What?" said Jack looking shocked.

"I think you should walk her down the aisle. Just you. If that's okay with Amy," said Tim.

"Why?"

"You've been more of a father to her than I'll ever be. You watched her grow up and you loved her when I couldn't. So I think it's only fitting that you walk her down the aisle."

Jack nodded. He got up, took the cowboy hat resting on Tim's knee, and placed it on Tim's head. Then he walked off.

Lou was in the middle of doing Amy's hair in the kitchen when they heard the front door open.

"No no no. You two can't see each other before the wedding," said Lou as she began to panic.

"Relax Lou. You know we don't believe in that stuff," said Amy trying to calm Lou down.

"We have a problem," said Ty.

"What do you mean? What problem?" asked Amy.

"Well um. It's the rings. Somehow the orders at the jewelry store got mixed up and well long story short. When Caleb went to go pick them up they weren't there," said Ty.

"What?! No rings. You can't have a wedding without rings," babbled Lou.

Just as Lou was about to have a panic attack Jack walked into the kitchen holding Katie.

"What's with the long faces?" asked Jack.

"We have no rings," said Ty.

Jack nodded. "Here can you take her." Jack handed Katie to Lou. He then walked out of the kitchen towards his room.

"Hey we'll figure it out. We don't need rings to get married," said Amy.

"Yeah. It's like I said ring or no ring I'll always love you," added Ty with a smile.

After a while Jack came back into the kitchen holding a small black box. He handed it to Ty.

"What is this?" asked Ty.

"Open it."

Ty opened the box. In it were two silver wedding bands.

"They're beautiful," said Amy.

"They were mine and Lindy's wedding rings. I want you two to have them," said Jack.

"We can't this is too much," said Ty.

"All it does is take up space in my drawer. It's time for me to pass it on."

Ty and Amy looked at each other and smiled.

"Thanks Jack," said Ty.

Amy got up and hugged Jack. "Thank you Grandpa."

Ty was looking out the window staring at the gray sky. He turned around when he heard the cabin door open.

Lily stood there and took in her son. "You look so handsome."

"Thanks Mom," said Ty with a smile.

Lily laughed. "Here let me fix this."

She went up to Ty and straightened his tie. "Um pink roses were you Dad's favorite flower. I know it's ironic that a man like him would like such a beautiful flower but maybe it was a symbol of the softer side that he never got to show. When you were a little kid your Dad would take you outside and you two would always pick the pink roses."

"Yeah I remember," said Ty.

"I know he hurt you, but your Dad would have been so proud of you today," said Lily.

She took a pink rose that she was holding and fit it into his front suit pocket.

"Is that okay?"

"It's perfect."

Lily leaned up and kissed Ty on the forehead. "I love you."

"I love you too Mom."

Lily smiled as she tried to hold back her tears. "Okay you better get going."

Amy was in her bedroom with her bridesmaids. They were all putting the finishing touches on Amy. They turned around when they heard a knock at the door.

"Come in," said Amy.

"Um can I have a moment with the bride," said Tim as he walked in.

"Sure," said Mallory as she walked out.

"We'll be waiting in the barn Amy," added Soraya as she and Ashley followed Mallory out the door.

Amy looked out the window. "Those dark clouds are still there."

"Jack thinks it'll go away and he's usually right."

Tim walked up to Amy. "You look gorgeous."

"Thanks Dad."

"Um your Grandpa is going to be walking you down the aisle. I wanted to avoid the fight we had at Lou's wedding."

"Thanks for doing that for me Dad," said Amy with a smile.

Tim smiled. "You know it's a gift getting to see you this happy. The best gift I could have ever asked for."

Amy got up and hugged her Dad.

"I love you honey."

"I love you too Dad."

Tim and Amy looked up when they heard a knock at the door.

Lou opened the door and walked in. "It's time Amy."

Ty felt a cool breeze as he rode. It wasn't easy convincing Lou to let him ride his motorcycle to the ceremony, but he had eventually gotten through to her. He had wanted both horses and his motorcycle to be a part of their wedding because it was the two things that symbolized who each of them were as people. He stopped his bike in front of the house. It wasn't until after he took off his helmet that he realized he had been smiling the whole time.

Tim walked up to Ty.

"I can't believe you rode your bike to your wedding. What an idiot," said Tim.

"Nothing you say Tim can ruin my mood today," responded Ty as he walked towards the altar.

"Hey wait. I want you to know that if I have to watch my little girl get married well I'm happy it's to you."

Ty stopped walking. "I think that's the nicest thing you've ever said to me."

"Yeah well if your hurt her. I will kill you," said Tim as he walked towards his seat.

Amy was standing in the barn waiting to walk down the aisle. She found it odd how calm she was. It was refreshing to not always be so tense and anxious. She loved being able to just breathe. As she looked around at the people she loved and the place she called home she couldn't help but think this was a dream. It could start raining right now and she wouldn't care. She felt the gentle touch of a hand on her shoulder.

"Is it everything you wanted?" asked Jack.

Amy nodded. "Everything and more."

Jack put his arm out and smiled. "How about you and I take a little walk?"

Ty was standing next to Caleb and Sarah. He watched as Lou, Mallory, Ashley, and Soraya walked down the aisle and took their places at the altar. When his eyes finally focused on Amy he felt like he couldn't breathe.

"Caleb…I'm marrying the most beautiful woman in the world."

"Dude close your mouth," whispered Caleb.

When Jack and Amy reached the end of the aisle Ty walked up to them.

Ty shook Jacks hand. "I promise I'll take care of her."

Jack nodded. "I know you will."

Jack put Amy's hand in Ty's and they walked up to the altar.

As the Judge, a friend of Jacks, began to officiate the wedding Ty and Amy could feel something warm against their skin. They looked up and felt the sun shining down on them. Ty and Amy smiled as they felt the comfort of each other's hands. It was like it was meant to be.

"Will you two be saying your own vows," asked the Judge after a while.

"Yes," answered Ty.

"Okay. Mr. Borden would you like to go first?"

"Um yeah sure," said Ty nervously.

Ty stared into Amy's beautiful blue eyes and took a deep breath.

"You know there's a saying: everything happens for a reason. I used to think that was crazy. It didn't make sense. Why would so many bad things happen to me? And then I came to Heartland and I met this crazy horsey girl who was such a goody two shoes. Well actually if it meant saving a horse she would break a rule or two. And I'll admit it took me a while but I found my reason. My reason was… is you. Everything that has happened to me it all led me to you. Amy I don't think you'll ever fully know how much you saved me. But I promise I won't let a day go by that I don't show you how grateful I am and that no matter what I will always love you."

Amy tightened her grip on Ty's hands as she felt tears in her eyes.

"When I lost my Mom I felt like I could never work with horses again because she was the one person that understood me and believed in me. But then you came into my life and you gave me something I never thought I would have again. You made me feel whole again. And I know we've had our ups and downs, but that's what makes us special because no matter what happens we always come out stronger. Ty you are my best friend, my superman, my everything. And I promise that whatever life throws at us we will go through it together. Always. "

"Okay then do we have the rings," asked the Judge.

Caleb handed Amy's wedding ring to Ty.

"Do you Ty Borden take Amy Fleming to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

"I do," said Ty as he slid the ring onto Amy's finger.

Amy handed her bouquet to Lou as she handed Ty's wedding ring to Amy.

"And do you Amy Fleming take Ty Borden to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

Amy put the ring on Ty's finger. "I do."

"Well then I now pronounce you man and wife," said the Judge.

"Can I kiss the Bride now?"

Everybody laughed.

"Yes you may kiss your Bride," said the Judge.

"Come here," said Ty as he leaned in and gently kissed Amy on the lips.

After they parted they put their foreheads against each other's.

"We did it."

"Yes we did."

Ty and Amy were sitting inside the reception tent on a long table at the front. After the ceremony they had gotten on Spartan and Harley and rode off to the dude ranch to get pictures taken while everybody had settled into the reception.

"Okay I think it's time for the best man speech," said Georgie who was the MC for the night.

"That's me." Caleb stood up and took the mic from Georgie. "I think I'm supposed to talk about Ty." Caleb paused as everyone laughed. "Well I used to hate Ty. Like I'm pretty sure we almost killed each other when we first met. Granted that's probably because I tried to steal his girl. Now they weren't together then but me being the idiot I am I thought I could actually win. I'm gonna let you all in on a secret don't try to get in between Amy and Ty. It doesn't work. And believe me people have tried. You know it's funny how life works out… because now there's not a man I respect more than Ty. But I don't want you guys to think that I'm some loser because I lost that fight. No… that just wasn't my fight to win."

Ty got up and hugged Caleb as everyone clapped. "Thanks man."

"Okay next is the maid of honor. My mom," said Georgie as she smiled at Lou.

Lou stood up and cleared her throat. "Amy. You are my little sister, and words can't describe how proud of you I am. You had to overcome a lot at a young age. And seeing you do it has been an honor. You know after our mom died, the first time I saw Amy smile. Like really smile was when she was with Ty. That's why I know that no matter what you two will always be happy. Now I am a worrier but that's the one thing I don't have to worry about." Lou smiled. "Oh and one more thing. FINALLY."

Lou handed the mic back to Georgie and sat back down as everyone laughed.

"Um does anyone else want to say something?" asked Georgie.

Jack stood up and took the mic from Georgie. "When Ty first came to Heartland I threatened him and told him to stay ten feet away from my granddaughters or I'd remove well any part of him that crossed that line. Well now he's married to one of my granddaughters and as you can see no part of him has been removed." Jack waited for the laughter to die out. "Watching Ty and Amy grow up and fall in love is almost as beautiful as seeing them in love now. You know one thing I've always wanted for my granddaughters was to feel the love that I shared with my late wife Lindy and the love I share now with my wife Lisa. That kind of love is rare, it's powerful, and it's special. Well standing here now I see that love in Peter and Lou and I see that love in Ty and Amy."

Jack smiled at his granddaughters and their husbands. He handed the mic back to Georgie and went back to his seat next to Lisa.

"I think it's time for the first dance. So would Mr. and Mrs. Ty Borden please come to the dance floor."

Ty put his hand out to Amy. "Can I have this dance Mrs. Borden?"

"You may," responded Amy with a smile.

Ty and Amy walked onto the floor. The familiar melody of their song rung in their ears as they danced.

Ty leaned closer to Amy and whispered "It's okay. We're okay."

So I know this chapter was very long. Sorry about that. I'm not sure if I'm gonna add more to this story. I'm still thinking about it. But thank you for sticking through it, and I hope I was able to do the wedding justice.
