A/N: This is a little piece of creative writing I was inspired to do while reading Romeo and Juliet ( "For you and I are past our dancing days"- Act 1, Scene 5). It depicts the journey of Arthur and Gwen's relationship throughout, from childhood to their inevitable union.

It begins with two chilling, endless cries, from the gifts who are as delicate as ballerinas, as beautiful as the first flowers of spring and as precious as the most coveted jewel. These cries- an oxymoron in themselves as they come from such calming delights-pierce the night, the day and the ears of those around. Those small, simple smiles- so plain and yet so bright they could Illuminate the entire world, are set against a backdrop of soft, unwrinkled skin; the wrapper that could glide through hands like falling silk.

Then, unsurprisingly, the breath-taking Springs morph into equally bewitching Summers, and before an eye can blink there is movement, mischief and honeyed laughter, saccharine sweet. A brief kiss against a temple where a glimpse of heaven can be tasted, two cautious hands shyly intertwining and the knowing smiles of four individuals. The air is heady with the aroma of innocence, hope and a world of opportunities. The time has come and the two partake in the joyous, addictive steps of a swing dance, twirling each other under the blinding sun; held back by everything and nothing.

The Summers fade away into the awaiting Autumns, where the wonder and awe inevitably begin to dwindle, just as the delectable fruits begin to retreat. With age comes the knowledge, and with the knowledge comes a certain solemnity-enough to dampen the childish curiosity, but not enough to diffuse the fragrance of excitement and happiness. Though the moments are fewer and far between, the two are still as playful and affectionate as new-born puppies, and the development strengthens the silver bond, looped tightly around the maturing souls. They no longer engage in the lighthearted swing dance, but instead receive their next taste of sophistication by way of the exciting, infinitely more dangerous salsa; their eyes flashing at each other as they sashay against a back drop of falling leaves.

Finally the poignant Autumns glide into teeth-chattering, arctic Winters but the two are unaffected by the iciness of the swirling snow, as they bask in the warmth of their embrace. Instead of the typical, lingering smell of death and sadness, the atmosphere is thick with love, appreciation and new revelations-new discoveries that rival those of electricity, painkillers and antibiotics. Discoveries that are now so strong, they can be tasted, and they are sweet like the most appealing dessert. Discoveries that are now so prominent, they can be heard, like a chorus of angels, glorifying the ending steps. Praising the final waltz that leads the two to this point-the point where, aged and world-weary, they can finally stop dancing and remain frozen, like a cherished picture, at the setting of their finally fulfilled destiny forever.

A/N: Thank you for reading! I know this isn't the type of story people usually come on fanfiction to read, and so if you've given it a scan, I am extremely thankful.

P.S. if anyone is reading/ has written a good fanfic please let me know. I like the majority of the pairings (especially if Merlin is involved), and I'm in the mood for some good writing. Thank you!
