Authors Notes: Ha Ha! There needed to be some sappy, romantic WW/Bats stories on this site, so I wrote one. Utterly pointless fluff. Whee!

When I look in your eyes

I see the whisper of a world in your eyes

I see the sadness of a thousand good-byes

When I look in your eyes

And it is no surprise

To see the softness of the moon in your eyes

The gentle sparkle of the stars in the skies

When I look in your eyes

In your eyes

I see the deepness of the sea

I see the deepness of the love

The love I feel you feel for me

Autumn comes, summer dies

I see the passing of the years in your eyes

And when we part, there'll be no tears

No good-byes

I'll just look into your eyes

Those eyes…so wise

So warm, so real…

How I love the world your eyes reveal.

The Batman lay back in Wonder Woman's bed. Diana curled up comfortably on his chest. He was staring at the ceiling. "You're rather quiet this evening." She said.

"I don't have much to say." He replied. She noticed a distracted edge to his voice and looked up at him, her long black hair spilling across her face.

"Is something wrong?" She asked quietly. He absently swept a few dark strands out of her eyes.

"Not exactly." He said slowly. She tilted her head and frowned, perplexed at his enigmatic response.

"That doesn't tell me very much." She said. Bruce turned to her, a strange look on his face.

"I love you," he said, forcefully.

"I know," she replied, sincere, but a bit confused. "I love you, too."

"Why?" he asked.

Her head tilted, slightly. Now she was more confused than ever. She thought a moment before responding. "Bruce, you are everything I could ever want in a companion or an ally. Brave, strong, loyal..." She stared into his questioning gray-brown eyes and touched his face lightly. "And there's something irresistible about you. Everything that you do is so fierce, so passionate…when you tell me that you love me I know that you mean it. The feeling is so intense it's almost tangible. The biggest part of why I love you is your dedication, your steadfastness." She moved closer to him. "But I love you, no matter what, Bruce. It shouldn't matter why or for what reason. You are my soul-mate; nothing anyone does will change my belief in that."

"I don't believe in soul-mates," he whispered, drawing her closer. "But I love you regardless." She smiled.

"I thought as much." She whispered.

He leaned over and nuzzled her neck, caressing her body gently. She replied in kind, pulling him closer to her. He took her face in both hands, kissed her and suddenly found himself able to throw aside all of his concerns and cares and bury himself deep inside of someone who was a kindred spirit, someone who he loved and who loved him back, unconditionally. At that moment, nothing mattered except that they were together.

At last, their passion spent, he and Diana lay together in silent contentment. She stretched leisurely; a supple movement that started at her feet and ended at the tips of her fingers.

He propped his head up on one hand and watched her, thinking to himself that nothing could ever compare to Diana's exquisite beauty. No one could.

Diana reached to the foot of the bed, pulled up the slightly wrinkled sheets and snuggled down into the pillows, sighing.

"Good night, my love" she whispered, kissing him on the cheek.

"Pleasant dreams, Diana," he replied, pulling her protectively close to him, feeling her body settle into his arms like she was made to fit there. "I love you."
