O is for Ocean
Looking out the window, she could she the ocean.
It was by that ocean that she had met him for the first time.
Back then, she had just been a rookie who was excited to participate in her first contest and he was just a rude boy who made fun of her. Neither of them could've expected they'd end up here.
Thinking back on it, she realized that many of the moments they shared had been by the ocean.
She recalled a particular incident, when yet another failed attempt to by Team Rocket to capture Ash's Pikachu, had resulted in them ending up alone on Mirage Island. Even if that day had been troublesome, to say the least, it hadn't been all bad. They had fun together, and it was one of the first times she realized that he wasn't all bad.
Still, she didn't realize how important he actually was to her, until he had helped her out during the Grand Festival, when she had fell for yet another of Harley's deceitful ploys. All this time, he had been looking out for her in his own way. When he had said goodbye to her at the beach, she was happy that she'd come to consider him a friend. She distinctively remembered her mother insinuating that there was more than just friendship between them, but at the time she had shrugged it off.
She hadn't really given much thought to any potential romance between them, until her friend Brianna had confronted her with that idea. It was yet again, at a beach by the ocean, that she'd first admitted to herself that her feelings for him went beyond just friendship, while watching him walk off.
Maybe it was because of those feelings, that she had decided to go to Johto after he'd told her he'd be there. Of course that wasn't the only reason. There was something about the independence that travelling by herself held, and the liberty to find her own way, that had led her to make that decision, but her feelings for him had definitely been part of it.
It was on the beach of Olivine City when she first realized that she had fallen in love with him. It had been like any other day really, the both of them were hanging out after a contest, that neither of them had won. He was in the middle of telling her a story when she looked at him, really looked at him, and noticed the way his eyes lit up when he smiled and the way his smile accelerated her heart beat, and at that moment she just knew. When he had asked her about the odd look on her face, she had just smiled and said that it was nothing.
Maybe it was the moment he knew too, because a few weeks later he asked her out. She had been overjoyed and agreed enthusiastically. He had taken her to a nice restaurant with ocean view and when the night fall, they had gone on a romantic walk beneath the starlight. It was the first time she had kissed him. The first of many times to come.
It had been years since that day, she noticed, looking out her window by the ocean, a nostalgic sensation resounding within her.
Finally looking away from the window she looked down at her hand, admiring the ring he had proposed to her with at the beach where they first met, by the very ocean she was looking at only moments prior.
And it will be by that very ocean, that she'll vow to spend the rest of her life with him.
Me - So here it is
Drew - It's short again
Me - Yeah it is. To be honest, I wasn't really going to write anything today, but I kinda logged in here by chance and saw that even today after all these years, there are still people who read my stories and it really made me want to write again. So if you're reading this, thank you! It really means a lot to me
