Chapter 6: Peter Pan Never Fails
Hermione groaned when she woke up, a painful sensation was coming from the back of her head.
She sat up and began to scan the environment she found herself in, placing her right hand on the back of her head to ease the pain.
The young girl had no idea what time it was because the clock on her left hand had stopped working.
It didn't take her long, however, to figure out that she was locked in a bamboo cage. "What...?"
Hermione pulled at the grate in an attempt to break free, but to no avail.
Suddenly, she thought of her wand which she always had placed in the back pocket of her jeans.
"Looking for this?" She heard a familiar voice ask. Although it was dark, she could still see his grin through the cage.
"M-my wand!?" She exclaimed in surprise, though what she feared most was the boy holding it, Pan. "Give it back!" She demanded and leaned forward in an attempt to reach for it through the gaps of her new prison.
Pan raised an eyebrow at her bravery. "Why should I?" He asked her, and began to circulate the cage.
"Because it's mine." Hermione retorted, her voice laced with uncertainty. She was afraid, no matter how well she hid it.
"It certainly is, but you hardly need it," She kept a watchful eye on him, while he went around in circles, trying to make her feel uneasy. He was doing a good job.
"Furthermore, I don't need to use an old stick to pursue magic. It flows through me like water in a stream." He grinned smugly.
'That's not all that's flowing through him, obviously.' Hermione thought to herself. "Are you going to give it back to me?" She asked him.
He scoffed. "And let you use it to break free and stop me?" He questioned her. "Not that you'd succeed, mind you."
"So, which is it? Yes, or no?" Asked Hermione curiously.
Pan grinned at her before replying, "You silly girl." He broke the wand in half.
Hermione yelled out in shock and in frustration at the sudden incident and stared down at her broken wand, but realized quite quickly how useless it was and tried to calm herself. Inside however, she was crying.
Pan was impressed by her rapid change in mood. "You and the rest of your little friends should know who you're dealing with by now." He stated and turned around to walk away.
When he suddenly heard Hermione say, "Whatever your plan might be, it's not going to work!"
"We'll see when I finally have both Lily and the stone in my hands," Pan replied with his back still facing her. "Peter Pan never fails!"
"There's a first time for everything! And you will fail! Oh, and why are you talking about yourself in third person? Don't you know how crazy that makes you sound?"
Pan rolled his eyes at her statement in irritation. "At least I'm not a know-it-all." He snapped.
Before he walked back to camp he turned around to face the witch and cast a sleeping spell on her.
"Sweet dreams, girl. You're going to need them." He grinned and vanished in the dark.
The lost boys were screaming and cheering while they were dancing to a rhythmic music around the camp fire when he returned.
Embers from the fire were glowing between the trees in the dark.
Pan sat on a rock in the center of the camp and watched the boys casually while he played with his dagger.
After a while he suddenly felt a sensation vibrating through his entire body and he knew exactly what that feeling meant. The stone had been found.
Pan grin wickedly to himself. "About time."
Without warning he flew towards the second star, and made his way into the wizarding world.
Not long after he reached the Slytherin dormitory, he found Felix laying on his bed gazing at a small box.
Peter smirked when he guessed what was inside. "Hello, laddie." He greeted.
"Pan." Felix returned the gesture. It had been about two years since Pan started visiting him, when Felix decided to look for the stone.
Now he had found it, he was worried about his sister. "You've found the stone, I see." The demon smirked darkly. "Hand it over, then."
Felix hesitated. "What happens if I give it to you?" He asked. "Will my sister be Okay? Will you leave her alone?"
Pan raised an eyebrow. "That depends on you, Felix." He snapped. "Now give me the stone."
"No." Felix retorted. "I want you to swear that you won't hurt her."
Pan raised his eyebrows impatiently. "Give. Me. The. Stone!" He yelled.
"No!" Yelled Felix, furious. The demon boy smirked in amusement.
"Glad to see that you've got that same fiery spirit as your beautiful sister. It's going to be a pleasure putting it out!"
Felix stood there a second, baffled at his words. "You've been spying on her?!"
Pan laughed at this, appearing behind him, arms length from the box. Felix eyed him warily. "That I have! She thinks you hate her, you know." He picked up the box and walked towards the boy. "She thinks you gave up looking for the stone."
His eyes widened. "I was trying to protect her! When I saw what I had to do to get it, I decided to go on my own! That's not what I-!"
Pan rolled his eyes and used the wooden chest to smack Felix hard on the cheek with it, causing him to collapse onto the stone floor, a trail of blood leaking down his cheek.
"Good." Pan thought to himself, kicking Felix in the stomach. "It's a shame you know, after you tried so hard to save her... I'm still going to take her with me." He grinned. "
"And you'll be to busy in the Hospital Wing to help her." He kicked him again, blood now spitting out of his mouth as he fell unconscious. "And don't worry, I'll be back for you too, when you're all better... And then, I'll wipe your memory."
"Bye, Felix." He winked, flying out of the window with the stone in his pocket. He could already feel the power radiating off of it.
"It was nice to meet you," Began Henry politely. "But unfortunately I have to go. I'm late for class."
"Which teacher do you have?" asked Ron curiously.
"Professor Snape." The boy replied as he headed off to class in a hurry.
'Professor Snape' thought Harry to himself, while flashbacks of his first year at Hogwarts came to his mind.
The potions lesson turned out to be the worst thing that had happened to him and his friends.
At the start of his first year, Harry had gotten the idea that Professor Snape disliked him. By the end of the first lesson he knew he'd been wrong. Snape didn't dislike him-he hated him.
"Lily." Began Harry. "We've checked everywhere and even asked around if anyone has seen Hermione today-"
"-but she is nowhere! We've checked the library twice and-." Continued Ron with both fear and confusion in his voice.
Harry cut him off. "I think I've got a theory about what might have happened to her." He exclaimed.
"You do?"
"What' is it?" Lily asked, even though she already knew what had happened to their friend, and when Harry mentioned Pan she wasn't thrown back in shock.
Instead, she confirmed his theory. "You're right." said the young girl and both Harry and Ron looked with wide eyes at her.
"What do you mean?" asked Ron in confusion, a slight tremble in his voice.
"I mean: it's true. P-pan grabbed a hold of me and pulled me into a broom cupboard, and he threatened me... He told me that he took Hermione to Neverland."
Fresh tears were now rolling down from her eyes and Harry could feel the heat from the anger rise within him."How did he threaten you?" Harry asked.
Lily shivered. "He'll only let her go if I... If I find the stone. But h-he doesn't just want that..." Their eyes widened in realisation. "H-he... He wants me too."
"That I do!" Came the devil's voice from behind her.
The three best friends gasped, but before they could do anything, Pan grabbed Lily from behind. "Let her go!" Harry and Ron yelled.
Pan chuckled. "Tell me, Lily." He whispered into her ear, ignoring their protests. "Have you found the stone?"
"Let. Her. Go!" Harry hissed firmly and pulled out his wand, but before he could do any damage Pan threw a spell at both of the boys that got them paralysed.
Pan could hear Lily's heart speed up in fear. "Answer me, girl." He growled quietly.
"N-no, I haven't..." She stammered. "But... I still have a few days left to search."
Pan laughed at her pathetic declaration and whispered in her ear. "Well then, don't mind me asking: do you think you've done a good job searching?"
Lily was shivering like a leaf. "O-of course...at least I think so... I-I'm close." Lily instantly regretted that she said the last part.
"Well, maybe you should look harder!" Pan yelled, with seriousness in his voice and span her around so that she was facing him.
He smacked her hard across the face, the hand shaped bruise already appearing on her cheek. "You've got three days." Pan spat.
"U-until what?" She whimpered, awaiting the worst.
"Until I take you home with me." Pan stated.
Her glassy eyes widened in horror. "N-no!" She cried.
Pan raised an eyebrow and sent another blow at her. Only this time at her nose, causing it to bleed.
Lily fell hard onto the cold floor and tried to wipe her nose with her sleeve, but got her hand covered in blood.
She looked up at Pan with frightened eyes and the demon boy just smirked down at her in amusement for the works of art he had done to her face.
He knelt down in front of her and whisper into her ear."Now, go and clean the blood off your face... I'll see you later tonight." He winked and with that the demon flew out of Hogwarts castle, leaving a frightened Lily there onto the hard cold floor with her two frozen best friends.
The stone was light in his pocket and he could feel the power radiating off it. He smirked at his own little victory as he landed on the Neverland shore.
He made his way over to camp, and decided to visit his new little prisoner. "Hello, Granger." He greeted.
Hermione looked up at him. "What do you want?" She asked quietly.
Peter shrugged. "Nothing much." He put his hand in his pocket, and pulled out the stone. She gasped out. "I just wanted you to know... Peter Pan never fails."
