Chapter 6

A few days later…

The morning sun had come up moments ago, the sun rays hitting the training grounds. Though, what really announced it was morning, were those loud, annoying, horns. Telling all the cadets that breakfast would be in one hour and they had to get ready. Naomi groaned as she placed her ankle on the floor. Even after a few days, it still hurt. She managed to get up, despite having Mikasa and Christa asking her if she needed any help. Even though, she refused, the two girls stayed close to her.

"I'm fine, I swear." She tried, smiling at the duo. Mikasa raising an eyebrow, not buying her little lie.

"Is that so? Then why are you limping?"

Not having an answer other than the truth, she pouted and kept on walking/limping towards the girl's washroom. She tripped and nearly fell until Mikasa caught her and wrapped her arm around her shoulders. Helping her get to the washrooms, much to the brunettes discounted. She didn't want to be a bother to her friends, nor did she want to bring them behind with her injury.

From afar, Eren and Armin noticed the scene, "Her ankle… Its going to get better, right?" The brunette asked, his sea-green eyes fixed on Naomi. They held so much worry for his childhood friend. He didn't want to see her go back to the landfills. He had hoped that by now, her ankle would be healed up, or at least she would be able to walk on it without needing help.

"It takes some time for injuries to heal up. Don't worry, Eren, she'll be back to her normal self soon." Armin tried to cheer him up.

"I feel so bad. Its all my fault." Connie sulk, having walked up to them. Since the incident, he'd constantly apologize. Would help her out even if it was just to get the fork in front of her. She kept telling him that it was okay. That she wasn't angry at him, and that he didn't need to do favours to get in her good books.

"Connie, it was an accident. She already told you that she forgave you. Don't beat yourself up for it, okay?" Again, Armin tried to cheer up a fellow comrade. Eren sighed, turning and walking towards the washrooms.

"What's done, is done. There's nothing we can do about it." He said, though he wished it wasn't true, that there was something they could do to speed up her healing. To take away her pain.

Connie slumped, head hanging low "He's still angry at me, isn't he?"

Armin gave the other guy a pat on the back "No, he's just worried. Now lets go or we're going to be late.

. . . . . . . . . .

A sigh escaped Naomi's lips. She was sitting alone in the classroom looking through her book to pass the time. Everyone else was outside training with hand-on-hand combat. The sun rays were slipping through the windows. Her chin was resting on the palm of her hand while reading over the material of today's class. Unable to focus, her mind kept going towards those beautiful sea-green eyes. They were full of worry seconds before class was dismissed. How she'd wish Eren would be here so that she wouldn't be alone. Leaning on him while resting her head on his shoulder…

"Hey, snap out of it."

She slightly jumped hearing the voice and fingers snapping in front of her face. A blush appearing on her cheeks, remembering what she was thinking about just a moment ago. Her eyes met up with grey ones, Christophe raised an eyebrow in slight amusement. "Aw, are you blushing for me?" He teased.

"You wish." She snapped back.

"Yikes. Did I disturb some fantasy of yours? I'm truly sorry." He said sarcastically. Taking a seat in front of her casually. Not even bothering to answer, leaning back in her chair with her arms crossed over her chest "What exactly are you doing? Aren't you supposed to be training." She asked.

"Well, yeah, but I got bored and Annie didn't feel like training either, so I just left." He said nonchalant.

"Then why come here of all places?"

"Can't I do something nice? You seemed lonely, at least physically, mentally you seemed to be in happy place." He grinned when her blush came back. She turned away from him pouting. Looking outside the window, she was unable to see any of the cadets, they were too far. Time passed, neither she or Christophe spoke. Oddly, the silence was starting to feel weird until the door opened and the same pair of sea-green eyes she was thinking about earlier walked inside.

Eren smiled at her, until a frown showed on his face when he noticed Christophe "What are you doing here?" He asked.

"Hello to you too." Christophe sarcastically spoke back. Not bothering too much with the brunet. Eren looked annoyed, just then Mikasa and Armin walked in, both in a deep discussion about training and tactics. Not realizing the tension that was slowly growing between the two males. Naomi on the other hand felt it. Getting up from her chair carefully. The sound caused Eren to snap out of whatever thought he was having, walking over to her and helping her out.

"Wait, let me help." He steadied her, making it easy for her to stand up without putting too much weight on her ankle. Placing her arm around his shoulders. The closeness, the warmth he radiated, she couldn't help the blushed. Hiding her face with her hair without making it look too suspicious. With Eren's help, they both walked out of the classroom and headed for dinner. Mikasa and Armin close behind.

Christophe watched them leave. His eyes squinted at the male holding Naomi. He was alone in the classroom the moment the four friends left. He played with the wrist band on his right wrist, while in deep thought. Naomi's blush did not go unnoticed by him, he clearly saw the pink dust her cheeks right before she walked away with Eren. He didn't like it.

"Jaeger, is it?"

. . . . . . . . . .

"Are you definitely sure about this?" Erwin's deep voice asked. Grey eyes looked up at the Commander, dark circles under his eyes from long hours of staying awake; studying the book the scouts found on their last trip. He took his glasses off, rubbing the brick of his nose before putting them back on. Loose blond hair was tucked back behind is ear. Hanji, Levi and Mike were in the room along with Erwin and Kendall. Listening over the conversation.

"Honestly? No. This is just a theory, as written in the book left behind from Isle Langnar, the titan showed intelligence. I doubt it's the only one out there." Kendall explained. He sighed, "And unfortunately, I'm pretty sure the Colossal and Armor titans also possess intelligence." Silence filled the room as the statement was sinking into everyone. It did make sense. How those titans acted was different from the others. Too different for them to be classified as an Abnormal titan. They worked as if they had some purpose. Yet so many questions were left unanswered. Levi looked up at Erwin, his arms crossed over his chest.

"So, Erwin, what do we do from now?"

The Commander of the Survey Corps looked at the book before looking at Levi "Nothing." He simply replied. Everyone looked at him, expecting him to elaborate more on his decision. "We are not to speak about this to the others until we learn more. No use in making them get anxious over something we don't fully understand ourselves." And with this, the meeting was over. Everyone left the room besides Erwin and Levi as they had more things to discuss. Hanji looked over at Kendall, noticing that something was bothering him. Feeling someone staring at him, he looked over and saw brown eyes staring at him.

"What?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Something is troubling you."

"No, nothing is troubling me." He quickly replied.

"I've spent hours working along side you, long enough to know when something is bothering you. You keep drumming your fingers on your thigh." She pointed out. Which indeed he was doing now.

"Its what was written in the book, what the titan said, 'Lady Ymir'. Its troubling me, who is this woman?" He questioned. Not liking the fact of not knowing this piece of information. Hanji looked forward, this was a question she was wondering as well.

. . . . . . . . . .

Damon followed Phoebe into the bathroom. Closing the door and making sure it was lock. The day was exhausting, luckily, there were no casualties. Right now, a good warm shower would help untangle his tense muscles. Noticing that Phoebe had taken off her last pair of clothing. Her back turned to him, now completely naked. Turning around to face him. Damon couldn't help but look her over from head to toe. She was gorgeous; toned stomach, beautiful curving hips, nice chest size, perfect skin. He would love to kiss her everywhere because she deserved it. She was the one to keep him grounded, to keep him going, always by his side, always supporting him. He could admit that Phoebe Callaghan was the love of his life.

Phoebe blushed a little when Damon kept his gaze on her a little too long. Noticing the blush, he smirked. Taking off his shirt before walking towards her. Wrapping his strong arms around her waist and bringing her close "Are we shy, baby girl?" He whispered before kissing her shoulder.

"Damon, we need to hurry." She giggled, trying to lightly push him away, but failing as he kept kissing her shoulder.

"What's the hurry?"

"Someone is going to come knocking. Do you really want to get on Captain Levi's bad side? Remember last time?"

"Okay, in my defence, nobody had used that closet in decades. Go figure the day we decide to fool around in there, Levi decides to use it." He replied, to which she laughed at his expression. The laugh brought another smile, as he leaned down and kissed her lips tenderly. She kissed right back, wrapping her arms around his neck. Before they could get deeper into the making out session, someone started knocking fast, as if in a panic.

"Is anybody in there?!" Leo's voice was heard from the other side of the door. "I need to go, hurry up!"

"Oh, for fuck sakes." Damon cussed, Phoebe giggled, earning a disappointed look from her boyfriend "You just had to open that pretty mouth of yours."

"Just admit it, you love what I do with my mouth, darling." She whispered in his ear before walking towards the shower. Damon smirked at her before taking the rest of his clothes off and following her into the warm water. Leaving Leo to knock furiously while cussing and complaining about needing to use the washroom.

. . . . . . . . . .

A few days passed, waking up one morning, Naomi felt relief when her ankle wasn't hurting anymore. It was still a bit sensitive but she could walk on it without wincing in pain. Going on with her daily morning routine, she met with her friends at the mess hall. "Look, my ankle doesn't hurt anymore!" She smile widely.

"That's great!" Armin smiled back.

"Yeah, like that you can stop being a couch potato and actually do something." Christophe said plainly. Though before he could add that it was just a simple joke, Eren glared at him.

"What the hell?! She was hurt! Can't you have a little empathy you bastard?!" He exclaimed, drawing the attention of the other cadets near them. Christophe narrowed his eyes at the brunet.

"If you would have let me finish, you would have heard that I was 'joking' you hear? It was a joke. Or does your little brain don't understand the concept?"

"You bastard! What kind of joke-" Eren stopped talking when he felt a hand on his shoulder, looking at his side, he saw that Naomi was starring at him with pleading eyes. He sat back down, not realizing that he had stood up when arguing with the other male.

"Eren, its okay. There's no need to fight." He felt himself calm down at her words. Starring into her eyes, he found himself being drawn into their warmth. Eren nodded and sat down with Naomi next to him. Giving her a small, shy smile.

Christophe was immensely annoyed at the interaction between the two. Standing up abruptly, he walked out of the Mess hall without a second glance.

"What's wrong with him?" Sasha asked, joining the group with Connie.

Eren scoffed, "Just let him leave."
