"Bed time, Alice." Mom smiled.

"But mom…." I whined. " Ten more minutes." I yawned. She smiled and shook her head. Then dragged me into my room. She tucked me in and kissed me goodnight. "Goodnight, mom." I whispered, suddenly too sleepy to talk. Then I curled up into a ball, and closed my eyes.

It was dark, my eyes hadn't adjusted yet. Large objects were surrounding me. I lurked in the darkness, hoping I was alone. But the sinking feeling in my gut told me otherwise. I walked a while, looking around. As my eyes adjusted, I realized I was in a theme park. I looked ahead and squinted my eyes. A small light in the distance matched the sinking feeling a had a while ago. But I told myself that light equaled food, or life.

As I approached the light. I recognized it as a gift shop. The sinking feeling in my gut turned into a sharp pain. The doors opened and I felt a cold chill ran down my back. A man was covered in darkness, but I could make out an outline of him. He was tall and slender, but threatening. He took a step towards me. I took a step inside the shop. And closed the doors. Then hid in the closet behind the closet.

Footsteps were heard, more than one, though. I panicked inside, but looked through the crack in the door. A tall but slender man wearing a white tie was standing next to a big, muscular man with sweat pants and a T-shirt. Twin girls were wearing knee-high dresses, their hair was tied up, but black. One of them stared at me, and the other pointed at the closet door, I was behind. Both men ran towards the closet door. The muscular one smacked it open and I tried to put on a straight face, even though I was terrified. I was a good actor, my friends told me.

The man looked confused, but reached for me, then I glared, anger enveloped fear. "Don't touch me!" I screeched. "I hate you!" the man pulled back, shocked. I was almost shocked but wasn't paying attention to that, I ran out and the slender man grabbed my arm. "Stay here." he smiled, a scary smile. Not a normal smile, but a I'm-going-to-hurt-you smile.

"NO!" I bit his wrist, drawing blood. He let go, and I bolted, running back into the darkness.

They didn't chase me. But after a while, I started coughing, almost choking, and wiped the blood from my mouth. Onto my white night-gown. Wait. I stopped. White night-gown? Then I sat down, suddenly very, very tired. Wait! They could still be chasing you! my mind raced, but my vision was hazy. Slowly, everything slipped away.

"-lice! Alice! Wake up! Late for the bus!" My mom yelled.

"What?" I asked sleepily, rubbing my sleepy eyes. "Just a dream." I sighed in relief. Then looked down at my sleeve of my white night-gown. I shuttered at the sight of dried up blood.
