Sighing, Lucy strolled through her contacts in her phone, her eyes glued to the device. Natsu would be here any minute now, but knowing him, he was probably going to be late. She groaned and fixed her hair for like the thousandth time. She had this urge to look absolutely perfect, so every minute or so she would stand in front of the mirror and fix her hair.

Suddenly the sound of knocks on her door snapped her out of her thoughts. She hastily checked her phone, seeing that it was exactly the time of her date. Natsu never arrived early though, so Lucy doubt it was him. She carefully walked over to her door, opening it.

Unexpectedly she saw Lisanna, who didn't expect her to open the door or even be home.

"Hi Lucy," Lisanna greeted, trying to act as casual as possible.

"Hi Lisanna," Lucy greeted back, unsure of why Lisanna had come to her in the first place. Did it have to do something with Natsu?

"Can I talk to you for a second?" Lisanna asked sheepishly, making Lucy nod. "Sure, come inside."

Lisanna quietly sat on the couch while Lucy went to go get her a beverage. She looked around the room, curious of her surroundings. She had never been to Lucy's apartment before, but from she heard, Natsu seemed to enjoy spending his time at her apartment.

"You're dressed up, are you going anywhere?" There was a pregnant silence, making both of them feel uncomfortable. "I'm um... going on a... date with Natsu." Lucy answered the white haired girl back hesitantly. She didn't want to brag or make Lisanna feel bad, but she didn't want to lie either. After all, she knew that Lisanna liked Natsu.

"Oh," Lisanna mumbled, making Lucy worry. Had she said something wrong? "Lucy, I want you to promise me something." Lucy nodded, as Lisanna lifted her head. Her eyes were glossy, because she was obviously holding back tears.

"Promise that you'll take care of Natsu," Lucy's eyes widened slightly, at the girl's statement. Lisanna played with the fingers in her lap silently, looking somewhat ashamed. "You see, when we went to the water park I confessed to Natsu,"

Lucy felt her stomach bubble in slight jealously, but waited for Lisanna to finish.

"He rejected me though. He told me that he saw me as nothing more than a little sister, and honestly it hurts." Tears fell from her eyes as she quickly wiped them away. "Natsu likes you, he likes you a lot. I don't want Natsu to end up hurt like me, so promise me that you'll take care of him."

Lucy sat down next to Lisanna and stroked her back soothingly. "I promise,"

About five minutes later, Lisanna was out of tears, as she bid Lucy farewell. "Good luck on your date with Natsu!"

Lucy nodded, but looked at Lisanna's retreating figure worryingly. Lisanna was actually more affected by Natsu's rejection to her confession than she thought she would be. However, she knew how much Natsu loved Lucy, and how much Lucy loved Natsu so it would be cruel of her to tear the two apart.

~X~

About an hour pass their scheduled date time, and Natsu had yet to show up. Lucy was pissed, tried, frustrated, but most importantly sad. Had he ditched her? Lucy shook her head, trying to get rid of the negative thoughts. He would never do that to her.

A few minutes later, a knock on the door brought her out of her thoughts. Hastily she ran to go open the door. There stood Natsu dressed in a black suit and a red tie - looking hotter than ever. Lucy felt her face heat up, as she unconsciously skimmed him from head to toe. Natsu also felt a blush grow rise to his cheeks as Lucy was eying him over. He suddenly felt insecure of himself. Was he dressed to fancily? Did he have food on his face?

Natsu opened his mouth to speak, but before he could utter a word, Lucy's foot collided with his gut. He flew back onto the wall and clutched his stomach in pain.

"What the hell Luce?!" Lucy pouted and crossed her arms over her chest.

"That's what you get for coming an hour late for our date." Natsu sighed, and stood back up again. Lucy's pouting face was just too cute.

"Sorry Luce, but I lost track of time. I was busy looking for clothes that fit this occasion..." Natsu mumbled the last part, which Lucy didn't hear. "But now it's a date huh?" Lucy rolled her eyes, and went to get her jacket.

"Whatever," Lucy walked right past him, making Natsu grin. He was going to make this the best date she ever had.

~X~

"Natsu you idiot!" Lucy yelled, rubbing her forehead in frustration. Natsu looked away sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Sorry Luce,"

"Sorry? I can't believe you just did that!" She groaned, and looked at the boy. "You just had to punch the waiter and get us kicked out of the restaurant didn't you?"

Natsu remained quiet, but looked away. He pulled his scarf up a little, trying to cover the light blush that had made its way up to his cheeks.

"He was flirting with you, and I didn't like it," Lucy shifted around awkwardly at his confession. "You are on a date with me after all, and I think it would piss off anyone if they saw someone else flirting with their date."

"Natsu, that's so sweet-" She was cut off when Natsu opened his mouth to speak.

"Besides, he was staring at your huge racks, and that's only for me to see." In a heartbeat, Natsu was 'Lucy kicked' about fifteen feet into the air. Lucy herself stood blushing beet red, and trying to calm down her breathing.

"You pervert!"

~X~

After their date was finished, Natsu drove Lucy home, holding his red cheek in one of his hands. Lucy always had the ability to kick hard, but boy did it hurt like hell. They drove in silence, as Lucy watched the lights outside pass by.

Natsu felt a twinge of nervousness hit him. He had just gone on a date with the girl of his dreams. It felt somewhat unreal to him, but he knew what he was to do next. He was to confess to Lucy his feelings, and hopefully the feelings were mutual. He's a little shy and embarrassed about doing it though. He doesn't want to mess up and make it look like he's a bigger idiot.

He pulled up by her apartment, and got out of the car. Before Lucy could say anything, he spoke up first.

"Lucy?"

"Yeah?" He swallowed deeply, feeling the temperature increase around him.

"Is something wrong, Natsu?" Lucy gazed upon him worryingly, feeling the temperature of his forehead. He was hot, but Lucy always knew that he had an abnormal body temperature.

Natsu felt his mind go blank; as he remembers this one time he talked to Jellal about woman. When he had brought up the topic, Jellal merely laughed, and patted him on his back. He had blushed, when Jellal looked over at Lucy, seeming to ask him if she was the woman he was having problems confessing to. Natsu had nodded, and looked away from Jellal.

'How'd you and Erza meet?' He recalled himself asking, making the blue haired man look away in the distance. There was somewhat of a sad and distant look in her eyes.

'We met at the same orphanage,' Jellal had forced a laugh. 'I'm sure you've heard of The Tower of Heaven, the orphanage that closed down because of forced child labor.'

Natsu had been surprised at the information. Erza and Jellal were in The Tower of Heaven orphanage? He nodded at Jellal.

'Well you see, the workers would bring us to a nearby mine that was closed due to safety reasons. They would make us dig for any kinds of metal or jewels, and they would beat us. One day though, a family witnessed what we had gone through, and the orphanage was shut down. Erza and I got separated. I traveled the world trying to find her, but then a couple of years ago I found her here. We dated, and eventually got married.'

Natsu smiled at the memory, but snapped out of his trance when Lucy pinched his cheeks.

"Natsu, is something wrong? I've been calling your name for like two minutes now."

"Sorry, I was just thinking," Natsu laughed a little, but Lucy looked unconvinced. He nervously shifted in his spot, but Lucy backed away.

"Was there something you wanted to tell me?" Natsu felt his nervousness increase, making his palms become sweaty.

"Yeah there was," He mumbled, suddenly becoming interested in something behind Lucy. He felt a tug on his sleeve, making him look back at Lucy.

"You can tell me Natsu, I'm not going to make fun of you," There was a long silence, before Natsu hesitantly raised his hands. He cupped Lucy's cheeks, and looked into her eyes intently, which melted her insides. When he noted that she didn't flinch, he leaned in until they were inches apart.

"Luce, I like you," And he kissed her.

Sorry for the super long update! Just a heads up, but the next chapter will probably be the last one. I could make this longer though and create tons of drama is you guys want though. I hope to have a quicker update, but school sucks so I'm not sure.

I want to thank all my readers, and also thank you White Okami for the Jerza back story recommendation.

Did anyone read chapter 416? Tartarus has got to be the best arc so far! I mean the last chapter of the arc ends with Natsu leaving with Happy on their one year journey, Fairy Tail being dissolved, and Natsu being E.N.D. (I called it from the very beginning!). Anyways, I kind of feel like Lucy doesn't catch up to Natsu though because the next chapter is title 'Lone Journey' but I get the feeling that when Natsu does come back from his journey everything has changed. He left before Fairy Tail was dissolved, so when he comes back Fairy Tail is gone, and everyone is split up across Fiore. I cried so bad, and I can't wait for the next chapter!

Not to mention my friend at school was teasing me and stuff and was all like 'What happens if at the end Natsu ends up with Lisanna?'I told her I'd probably cry and curse at Hiro Mashima. Nalu forever!

Anyways, sorry about my rant. Thank you to anyone who follows, favorites, or reviews!
