For the next few days I busied myself with practice. I didn't want to think about Chase. Soon we had our first game and we were more then ready. We won 22 to 4.
They're was gonna be a huge party later and practically the whole school was going. I got a ride to the party with Bay who had her license. It was at this guy Jason's house. I didn't know him very well but it didn't really matter. We got there at about 9 and as we walked in I looked around. Sitting outside the door was Ally Morgan and she was getting dangerously close to Chase. I started to feel the pit of my stomach clench but I didn't do anything but go right past them and inside.
A few minutes later my friends went off to flirt with some of the guys on the boys team and I decided to get some fresh air. I went out side when I noticed Haddie had just gotten there. She came over to me, "Hey what's up?" She asked.
I sighed, "nothing."
"Ok what's really up." She said immediately knowing I was hiding something.
I sighed, "Chase."
"Chase? What's wrong with Chase?" She asked confused.
"He sort of kissed me." I mumbled.
"He what? Oh my god!" She said excitedly.
"You can't tell anyone."
"Wait, but I thought you were in to each other?"
"Yeah, he's really into me. Go tell him that as he flirts with Ally." I said sarcastically.
"Oh my god you're so into him."
"What? No, I'm not!" I defended myself.
"Then why do you care if he's talking to Ally?"
"Why do you think?" I said referring to the fact that Ally and I are sworn enemies.
"You know what? You need to let loose. I am going to go get you a beer." She said as she got up.
"Wow you're like the most protective big cousin ever!" I joked. She rolled her eyes playfully before going off to get the beer. As I waited I checked my phone. I had it off all day. The reason? I had been getting more than a few texts from Chase which I didn't want to see. As I predicted my inbox had about 20 messages all from Chase.
As I deleted the messages without reading them Haddie came back.
"Sorry that took me a while. I had to talk to someone." She said as she handed me it.
"Who?" I asked.
"Not important." She said. For a second I was suspicious but I just ignored it.
"So what's new with you?" I asked as I took a sip.
"Oh my god don't remind me. I've been trying to get out of the house as much as possible." She said annoyed.
"Why?"
"My parent's friends are getting a divorce so their kid has been staying with us lately. His personality is like Max's on steroids."
I laughed, "Well, I'm sorry about that."
"It's okay. Sometimes I wish my family could just be normal like yours." She said.
"You know half of my family." I pointed out.
"Oh, sorry." She apologized.
"It's okay. I only know half my family too." I said.
"You know what enough of this sad stuff, let's go dance." She suggested.
"You go dance. I don't really feel like it." I said honestly.
"Okay." She said after a second of reluctance and then going off
