After watching movies and eating dinner Jon left Wednesday night. The rest of the week flew by, Chloe spent the next few days at meet and greets and went to a few radio shows. She met fans with many of the other divas she worked with and at the radio shows she talked about the up and coming talent as well as WrestleMania. She was extremely busy up until the point where Chloe found herself at a new arena once again for Smackdown. She hadn't been scheduled for a match that night, but she did have a promo to cut with Jon soon.
That night on Smackdown she was one of the only Divas with screen time. AJ had been scheduled for commentary during a Divas match later that night and many of the other female talent was sent to meetings concerning WrestleMania and weeks that lead up to and follow it.
Chloe had managed to show up late for now real reason, there was no real traffic to slow her down. She had just left way too late. Even though she was late she still made the effort to get to the Divas locker room as quickly as possible. as she had gotten within five feet of the door she heard a voice call her name. When she turned round she saw one of Stephaine's secretaries running towards her.
"Chloe! Hang on!" Her heels clicked on the concrete floor as she ran towards her. "Stephaine wanted to give you the new script but you showed up late."
"Yeah, sorry about that." She smiled nervously and laughed.
"Don't worry about it, I'll tell her there was a lot of traffic and that was why." She smiled at Chloe. "Creative made some changes to the script for the next few weeks and for WrestleMania and the night after."
"Anything good?" Chloe asked after she was handed the script.
"Yeah your match is huge now, and so is everything else that has anything to do with your match. They're definitely pushing you hard, they're giving you a huge chance to make the Divas look good. If you can pull it off you've definitely given the Divas a chance." The secretary grinned as Chloe nodded, flipping through the pages.
"Sounds like a challenge." She smirked. "Good thing I love challenges."
The two laughed and said goodbye. As the secretary walked away Chloe pushed the door open to the Divas locker room and tossed her bag to the floor near a bench and sat down to read the new script, in her opinion it was much better than the original. She put the papers down and started to get ready.
Once changing into a loose white tank top, black leather pants, and block combat boot Chloe made her way down to a locker room used for promos. She pushed open the door and stepped in to see Jon sitting on one of the benches while the camera crew set up. He looked up at her from the script in his hands and have her a head nod before she sat down.
"Ready?" She asked taking hold of the papers in his hands and glanced over it.
He nodded; "Are you?"
"Always." She smiled at him and he smirked.
"Ready when you are." A cameraman called from behind the cameras and the two stood up and Chloe took once last glance at the script before dropping it onto the bench, out of sight.
With a nod to the camera the red light flashed on, signaling that it was recording.
"I'm sick of these guys! We need to get rid of them." Jon grumbled and Chloe stood with her arms crossed, smirking at him.
"Well to be honest, it's what you get for working with the Authority. You can't trust them." Jon just gave her a look and she shrugged her shoulders. "Listen I'll see what I can get out of them before you guys have your matches and tell you but that's all I can do. I mean having this little meeting that we are now is putting me at risk. They see me with you we're both screwed."
"Well you are, you just came back. They can get rid of you as easily as they brought you back." Jon pointed out and she laughed.
"They can try." She glanced down to her phone, to check the time. "I've gotta go, I'll see what I can do."
"Chloe," she stopped and partially looked back at him. "Call me. With the information of course."
Jon smiled and she nodded slowly before walking out of the shot as he watched. The camera stopped recording and the cameraman smiled, saying he'd got it. Chloe said goodbye to him before walking out of the room and out of sight. He shook his head; for someone as broken and hurt as she was, she had extreme confidence. He'd seen it all the time and again while they were cutting that promo.
It was something that he always wondered about and took him forever to understand, and he only understood it now. She was one hell of an actress. Her confidence? It was all apart of her act.
An act no one noticed in until now.
A/N: So Jon has her figured out doesn't he? I wonder what he'll say to her, if he ever does say anything? What'll she say? As for Chloe messing with the Authority, maybe they don't know. I don't know, what do you think?
And I'm sorry this was short but I had just rethought the way I wanted to finish this up so I had to tale bits out to make future chapters longer than they would have been had I left them.
