His Happy Ending

Taking a steady breath, he finally finished putting all of his belongings away in his suitcase. Picking up Jim, he let out a shaky breath. "We're going home Jim, can you believe it? Mother and Father are on their way right now, who knows how much longer we have here?" Closing his eyes, he took a seat on the comfortable bed he and Kevin shared for many nights over the course of five months. Though it sounded long, it went by so quickly.

There was a light knock on the door before a familiar head popped in. "Mom asked me to come lend you a hand." Kevin closed the door behind him and walked over, "You look like you're about to start crying..." Looking down next to him, he sighed. "We knew this day was coming Dork, you're an adult now. You have to act like it, Alright?" He tried, trying not to let his own sadness show through. It was getting quite hard.

"I'm really trying..." Edd started before looking up at the other, his eyes glistening over with fresh tears. "What's going to happen between us? We can't express ourselves during school because of our secret and now, I won't see you here anymore." He looked down and wiped at his eyes, he felt stupid for crying like this.

Kevin wrapped an arm around him, "Nazz is thinking about coming out, I decided if she can, then so can I." Pressing his lips to Edd's forehead, he smiled. "Mom said you can come back over whenever you want, you're family to us. If you're busy, then I could always come over for one of our private study sessions." His smile formed into a smirk, "I think that would help solve some things, right?"

Edd could feel his cheeks burning slightly at the suggestion, "That is a good suggestion, I didn't think of that at all." Turning to look at his boyfriend, he found himself being able to smile slightly. Leaning forward, he pressed his lips ever so softly to the Ginger's, enjoying the soft, warm feeling from them. "I love you..." He muttered softly one their lips were disconnected for a short moment.

Kevin carresed his face, his eyes staring deep into Edd's. "You know I love you more Dork," he chuckled and reconnected their lips. Pushing Edd onto his back, it wasn't long before Kevin was in complete control of the kiss.

If it wasn't for Edd barely hearing the knock on his door, the two would have surely gotten caught. "H-Hello Mrs. Barr." Hoping his blush wasn't too revealing, he noticed Kevin was looking quite annoyed. He'd have to apologize for breaking the kiss later on.

The older woman wore a tired smile, "Your parents are here sweetie, I'm sure you are so excited to see them." Her smile grew when she noticed the situation, "Am I interrupting anything...?" She asked slowly, her eyes lighting up when she noticed her son beginning to blush. "I'm not as blind as you think, I'll give you two a few minutes but get down there so they don't wait too long. I'm sure they are exhausted from that long drive home." With that, she lightly closed the door behind her.

Edd lightly bit his lip, "I wonder how she found out..." He mumbled to himself, "Was it that obvious?" He gasped when he was suddenly pulled towards Kevin, his head his his chest. "K-Kevin?"

The Jock sighed heavily, "I'm going to miss your polite guestures around the house you know. And that curly, thick black hair you always hide away." He smirked when Edd grew redder at the mention of his hair. "Damn... I can't remember the last time I didn't want to let something go as bad as you. I may have to have someone hold me back so your parents can take you away." He laughed but it wasn't full of amusement like it should be. "We should start heading downstairs." He suggested.

Edd gave a small nod but before he stood, He made sure to place a chaste kiss on Kevin's lips. It wasn't a goodbye kiss, they'd be sure to kiss many more times. Smiling for the both of them, he stood with Kevin's hand in his own before heading out to meet up with his parents.

He should have expected it when his mother pulled him in a strong hug yet it still took his breath away. He chuckled lightly when she began searching him for cuts and bruises, He knew she would hate herself if her baby got injured. Instead of giving the formal handshake to his father, he wrapped his arms around him and hugged him. "I missed you guys... How was your trip?" Glancing back at the three Ginger's of the Barr family, He smiled and walked out as his mother enthused about the African Americans and the people riding the elephants with the jewels on their forehead.

This was it. This was his happy ending.
