Bridging the gap

Smash Bros Wii U! YEA! I mean ugh still busy, my bad. Yeah totally that's the reason.

Aside from that, Thanks for your support guys we're nearing the end. But i'm still in need of comments, fav, follows and all that. As for thee poll, this is you last chance to either get a lemon or not. PaulXGrejina. Pro-10, Anti-8.
Anyway, lets see what happens this chapter. Hopefully something epic. Might be short and simple but I'll make sure it's good.

I continued down the hall with Yoshi toward the basement door. The familiar flight of stairs headed down to a double side door. The large lock wasn't there like it was in Mario 64 but I should be glad I don't have to go and get the key and unlock it. Yoshi rammed the door open and I patted him on the head. "Nice job buddy. Way to use your head."

"Yoshi!" he smiled.

"Alright take a left here. I'm sure that where well find them." I advised. Yoshi nodded and jumped down. He darted and the automatic door opened up for us. We stopped suddenly as I saw that the hallway with the weird wavy water wall (say that 5 times fast) was now spotted with lava drips. It was way hotter than I expected. This is probably the closest I've ever been to lava. "Yoshi. We can do it, just use your flutter jump and we'll be there before you know it." He nodded again and got a running start. He dashed off and was nearing the edge of our platform. "Oh crud..." I told myself. He better know how to do this. "JUMP!" I yelled out and he obeyed. He jumped in the air so high that I thought the gravity was turned off. I was getting nervous seeing the lava below me. Yoshi began kicking his feet around and we gained more height. "YEAH! Go Yoshi! Land down there." He stopped fluttering and landed on the next part of the floor. Just a few more. I can see the door up ahead.

A few hops, skips, and jumps later and we made it to the door in question. And we slowly opened it. We looked inside and saw some goombas patrolling around. "You hungry Yoshi?"

"Yoshi" He nodded.

"I'm assuming you are. Okay, you know what to do." I got off his back, sadly;I didn't want to get off, and stood in front of him. "You follow me, and eat whatever enemies get near or try to kill me. Got it?" He nodded and growled. "Good boy." I opened the door more and walked in, "Yo walnuts!"

Five goombas automatically glanced at me. "What you call us?!" One asked angrily,

"You heard me! Anyways, my friend here is a little hungry. Why don't you guys show him some hospitality?" I said and stepped aside. Yoshi stepped forward and began eyeing them.

"Oh crud. We're chow! Run away!"
"RUN AWAY!"

Yoshi chased after the Goombas and began catching and swallowing the Goombas one by one. I know what we were doing was essentially murder but it's better that Yoshi feed on them than me stomping on them. I couldn't stomach the thought of Goombas innards being on my shoe..Buh dun Tsssh.

We heard foot steps and barking approaching as the rest of the Goombas fled. "Where are you dolts going!?" A black shelled Koopa hollered. In his possession was a chain and attached to that chain was a Chain Chomp. "YOU! You'll be joining the Marios soon enough. Go get him Chain Chomp!" The chain chomp began rushing toward me until Yoshi ran in front of me. The chomp stopped. "What are you doing!? Get him."

"Not today pal." I told him and turned my hat to the side. I then saw a goomba hiding behind a raised platform. I pointed at the goomba. "Okay Yoshi, lay an Egg!" I told Yoshi. Yoshi swallowed the scared Goomba and laid an egg. as gross as you'd think, 2.I need to ask if he's a guy or not. Yoshi took the egg and held it in his hands.

"Chomp, bite this guy!" The Koopa yelled. The Chomp leapt up and started descending upon me with his mouth open and aimed at me.

"Yoshi, counter attack! Throw the egg at it!" I told him. Yoshi jumped up and threw the egg into the Chain Chomps mouth throwing it's guard off. I moved out of the way and the chomp landed face first and with teeth lodged into the floor. "Yoshi! Ground pound it! Now!"

Yoshi jumped above the chomp,"YOSHI!" He said before landing a heavy ground pound and smashing the chain chomp into the floor even more. Yoshi returned to my side and we looked at the koopa.

"Oh forget this! I'm blasting out of here!" The koopa said and ran through the door. I returned my hat to it's original position, smiled and petted Yoshi.

"Nice job pal." I told him.

"Yoshi!" He responded. I got back on his back and headed forward. We continued jumping on platforms, swings and over lava pits until we made it to a large purple door. We suddenly heard voices coming from the other side.

"Oh crud!" I said aloud. "Yoshi hide behind that banner over there!" We rushed over to large red banner that was hanging down from the ceiling. The door opened.

"Alright you all, nice job. Very good. You all deserve a five minute break. Unfortunately for you you only get 3." That was Bowser.

"You're very generous your majesty. Just a few more minutes and the Marios will be more broken than one of the pipes they fix." Another voice said. I quickly looked out to see Bowser being followed by a hammer, fire, and ice.

"Well hurry up. The sooner Mario's finished, the sooner my new conquest plan can be put into action. Now break!" He yelled and the bros went ahead. Bowser looked back at the door. "The looks on their sorry faces. SO worth it after a decade." Bowser chuckled and walked away. Yoshi and I couldn't help glaring at the big fat tyrant.

"Hurry! Inside! Mario and the others might be in there." I got of Yoshi and we ran to the door opening it. We looked inside and saw them. "Mario! Luigi! Goldwin! Blu! Please tell me you're all alive." I said with worry.

"H-hey Paul." Mario said weakly. They were hanging on the wall over a gated lava pit. All of their clothes were either charred or torn and had bruises in various areas. Their legs especially were beaten bad. "We-we won't last long." He said.

"Help us. Please Paul." Luigi pleaded. I need to help them.

"Luckily I got some supplies for you guys." I got the "?" block out and opened it. "I have at least one mushroom for each of you." I put one mushroom in each of heir mouths and the swallowed them. Instantly their bruises vanished and legs were healed. They snapped their arms off the walls breaking the chains that held them. Kinda like Poppy with his spinach. "Whoa. Cool." I said. Yoshi just jumped up happily.

"Nice job Paul. Oh, and nice hat. Suits you well." Mario complimented. It's official, I'm in. I was so happy hearing my childhood hero tell me that.

"Yeah, blue suits you pretty well." Luigi added.

"Don't get too comfortable though, I'm the blue one around here." Blu stated. I just chuckled in response.

"Where's Peach? Is she okay?" Mario asked.

"Yeah. She and Toadsworth are in the highest room in the tallest tower now. I saw them." I answered.

"Good, at least she's safe. And where'd you get Yoshi from?" Luigi asked petting him.

"He was with the Toad Brigade. They came around just in time to save me and some friends." I answered. They looked at me with a questioning look.

"Friends? How did you make friends? You've been trapped here for almost a week." Goldwin asked.

"Bowser let me out and I got to mingle with some of his minions. And don't worry, they're on our side." I assured them.

"If you say so." Mario answered still with a skeptical look. "But come on. Bowser was heading back to his throne room. Let's head there and defeat him." We all nodded. Suddenly the doors opened again.

"Hey! They escaped!" A fire bro yelled.

"And they got that kid with them to!" The hammer bro added.

"I knew he was going to be trouble! Get 'em!" The boomerang bro commanded.

We all jumped away and landed in different parts of the room. I looked into the "?" block and saw a fire flower. Luigi was close to me. "Luigi!" He looked at me and I gave him the box. He took the flower out and ate it. His clothes flamed up and changed color. That looked so much more bad ass than in the game. Then again, what didn't?

"Alrighty then. Here's we go!" Luigi said and started throwing the flames.

The hammer bro instantly dodged away and threw a hammer our way. I ran toward Mario. "Mario!" I threw him the block. "Get an item out!" I told him. He caught the block and grabbed an ice flower out. His clothes frosted over and changed color.

"Let's a GO!" He yelled and threw a line of ice balls at the hammer bro. Both he and Luigi both leaped out at him and threw their elemental projectiles at the same time.

"Oh I'm getting arthritis big time." The hammer bro said before freezing then automatically shattering out of the ice."Can't feel...anything.." That could've ended a lot worse. I looked over and saw Bu and Goldwin dodging the ice and fire bros attacks. Mario left the block on the ground so I picked it up and threw Blu an Acorn.

"Blu, get out of there!" He caught ate the acorn and jumped out of the way and flew to Goldwin and lifted him out of the way. Mario and Luigi the proceeded to finish the lat two bros off with the six of us surrounding them.

"Damn this is so unfair." They said simultaneously. Mario and Luigi threw their respective powers and froze/flamed the baddie bros to their doom.

"Now that, is the Super Mario Bros way of playing." They said together. Awesomeness.

"Great timing Paul. You freed, healed, and powered us up just in time. We would've been gondolas, if you hadn't showed up." Luigi told me.

"AH it was nothing. I just came prepared." I said with a smile acting proud.

"Yeah, good job. But listen, where's the princess again?" Mario asked.

"She's in the tallest tower. We can go save her now!" I answered.

"Not just yet. We got a koopa to kick around." Mario answered. "Let's a get back to the throne before. Bowser will be there for sure. We'll take him take him out and everything will be as right as a Mario Party."

"Yeah! I'm ready to go!" Luigi responded.

"Time to stomp up again!" Blu and Goldwin said. Then they looked at me.

"You coming along Paul?" Mario asked. I looked to each of them.

"R-really?"I asked hesitantly. Me? Join up with the Mario bros and toads to save the world? Could it bee true? Could I? should I? YES! "I'm ready, I'll do what I can."

"Alrighty then. Let's a go!" The Marios, Toads, and I headed down the corridor to find Bowser and proceed to the final boss.

I'm not even gonna say it. I wont tell a lie, I procrastinated a LOT! Between my art, the holidays, a bunch of games and stuff, I have been swamped. I'm so sorry guys. But I appreciate you sticking around. The last few chapters are approaching so lets hope I finish this by 2016 huh?
