It happened quick. He had been standing on the ice, one moment, surrounded by endless white, and then he was plunged into freezing darkness the next.
There was a moment, a long moment, that Kristoff couldn't move. He was suspended in the cold darkness, the water so remarkably still. It wasn't churning, not at all. There was nothing around him, only a void.
At that point, the shock began to wear off.
He thrashed with all his might, willing his slowly-numbing limbs to come back to life. He knew if he didn't get out of there soon, he would fade away. He had to escape. He had to.
He was desperate in his movements, flailing and kicking trying to surface.
Soon, he came to the realization that he had no idea if up was up and down was down. He was in a void, a void of blank darkness, like a starless night sky.
Something of a calmness creeped through his veins, stilling his limbs. Limply, he floated there, as the cold darkness began to take up residence in his heart.
And then there was a spark. A brief, thoroughly impossible spark, that winked at him from a distance. However impossible, though, something about it he felt was special. Important. Like that he shouldn't allow himself to fade away just yet.
He must wait.
And wait he did.
The spark appeared again, the glow brighter. Slowly, it began to drift closer and closer to Kristoff, the light only growing brighter.
The light began to take form, tendrils of light flowing after it much like a skirt, or hair. The rest of the body of the light continued to become more and more clear, features coming into place.
He could really only focus on the eyes. They were something incredible, something so beautiful, it seemed as impossible as the light itself.
They were bright blue, the only part of the body not a light golden color. They were brighter than sapphires, and held every emotion Kristoff understood, and didn't.
Kristoff's fingers twitched, but he couldn't bring his hand up to cup the entity's face as he desired.
She drew forward, tilting her head as the golden glow brightened to white. Kristoff squeezed his eyes shut at the suddenness of it. His body was completely numb - or so he thought, until he felt her lips press against his.
It was something shocking, invigorating. As though his senses suddenly came back to him all at once. He gasped, propelling himself backwards. Once again, there was total darkness...only it was different. He could feel, in his gut, where the surface was.
He swam as fast and hard as he could, working through the burning in his lungs, until he burst through the surface, the thin layer of ice that formed chattering at contact.
He called out weakly. Almost instantly, Sven appeared beside him, dragging from the icy prison that almost claimed him.
Kristoff collapsed in the snow, letting the sun warm him. For a second, as he was looking up at the bright glowing orb in the sky, he thought he saw that form again, with her beautiful eyes looking at him in worry.
And then he faded away into unconsciousness.
A/N Look at this! Something not Elsanna! To be honest, I probably could ship everyone from every Disney fandom with everyone, if given the opportunity. I just...love love? Yeah...
By the way, if you have a story request for any Disney-Pixar animated fandom, I would love to have the honor to write it!
