MATES, DATES AND SLEEPOVER SECRETS
Charlie squealed. And hugged Cas. And bro-fisted Dean. And looked at him with the told you so flare. "I'm so happy right now it's unbelievable."
"It's like I'm walking on sunshine" Castiel quoted, looking incredibly proud of himself. Charlie just groaned, rolled her eyes and let out a little chuckle.
"Not that I'm complaining, you finally made a pop-culture reference, to a good song at that, to a jam at that, but why can't you quote something from this millennia."
"It's a shot in the dark Charlie, I'm just glad he finally did some research" Dean said, pulling Cas by the awkward trench coat he'd chucked on to walk around the grounds and tugging him towards him for a kiss.
"Ugh" Jo whined, rolling her eyes and giving the death stare, "cute and all, and I'm happy and whatever, but you need to stop with the PDA, it's making me feel icky."
"Oh I''mmmmmm sorry Jo, Do you want us to calm it down?" Dean smirked as he grabbed Castiel and pulled him in for a long soppy wet dog kiss, Castiel thought was rather like a German Sheppard licking at his face, but he went along with it to hear Jo's groans getting louder until finally she bashed a pillow on the back of Dean's head causing him to fall on top of Cas and made him crack up at the sure spitefulness radiating off of Jo. Charlie cackled, and hid her head in Jo's shoulder, making Jo flinch into a bit of a smile.
Castiel pulled himself off the floor and dusted himself off. "Well then, that was interesting, but me and Charlie really should be heading back to the dormitory before the prefect has our guts."
"Why don't you stay?" Dean asked, hoisting himself up, to face Cas. After a pause, he looked to the other two and said "Why don't you all stay? We've got sofas, not exactly like the headmistress is gonna give us a bollocking for falling asleep while talking."
"I don't know..." Cas replied.
"Oh come on Cas, don't make me beg ya."
"Are you sure it's a good idea?"
"No, no I'm really not and that's why we should."
"To stop your little lovers quarrel from progressing, I'm gonna give the answer for you. We're staying." Jo said, walking to the storage cupboard and pulling out sleeping bags.
"Okay, I'm the only one who actually is in this house and I didn't know they were there." Dean looked stunned.
"As I said." She smirked. "Really need to change the password."
Charlie grabbed one from Jo's hand and bugsied the biggest sofa in the hopes that Jo would hop on too, and of course within a minute of everyone grabbing sleeping bags, she did. Cas took a spot on the carpet, beckoning Dean over, but Dean replied: "I'm just gonna run and get some pillows."
He sauntered off upstairs, to grab the pillows from his room whilst Cas sat a bit bewildered and in a haze. Charlie waved her hand in front of his face.
"Earth to Cas, come in blue eyes." she taunted.
"Yeah, what?" He asked in a daze.
"You seem out of it, which is not a good thing considering ken-doll is literally giving you bedroom eyes every five seconds."
"Yeah, yeah I know, I know, I get the same feelings as him."
"Cas, you've never had sex, have you?"
"Never thought about it. I wanted to just get through school, get into a good wizard college, get a good job and a good life from it."
"So you don't want sex?"
"Not quite, I'm just not ready to think about it."
"Is that what's bothering you?"
"Well that and we're from different worlds. I'm a geek, I'm unpopular, I'm unstable, a virgin and awkward. He's, well he's - - - Him."
"Castiel, that silly stuff? It doesn't matter you know. No one actually cares in the future, it doesn't mean anything." Jo said, throwing the couch cushion at him.
"How do you know though? He could be a socialite, and have any lady or man around him, what's telling he'll stay? For the next week? For the next year?"
"Honey, you do realise you've only just started to date him, there is no reason to be that attached."
"I - - I just don't know. It feels like I'm happy, but what ifs a surrounding my head. It's the same as when I fail a test, what if he leaves you, what if this is a practical joke, what if this is only for sex, what if this is only to copy your flipping homework, what if - "
" - What if all of that is wrong. He really does like you Castiel, it could even be the other word."
"Other word?"
"Lesbians with you." Charlie sniggered, getting up to rub his back.
"Lesbians?" Castiel asked, slightly more bewildered and a lot more cautious.
"It's a Scott Pilgrim reference." She laughed, lifting him up and standing him face to face with her. "Look I'm not saying the relationship will be easy," She said, holding his arm, "neither am I saying it will last. But the fact of that matter is you two definitely do like each other in more ways than friends, and there's not a lot that will screw that up for the minute. Trust me?"
"I trust you." He said nodding. She then pulled them back down on the floor, her resting her head next to the sofa so Jo could stroke her forehead, and Castiel sat on his sleeping bag awkwardly.
"Good - cause he'll be back in five, four, three, two - "
"- You girls want one or two each?" Dean asked, coming down the stairs, he was holding around ten-fifteen pillows under each arm and one under his shirt.
"Nice carrying skills stay-puft marshmallow man, going to kill the Ghostbusters?" Charlie asked sarcastically. Castiel sniggered to Charlie, partially amused by the stay-puft marshmallow man comment even though he barely knew what it meant, but mainly the fact that he knew she was right. He knew her and Jo knew more about proper relationships than he would ever know. There was nothing to be worried about.
"Haha, some of these are to put on the floor, under our sleeping bags."
"So yours and Cas' or are you just going to give us them all?"
"Funny again, you called the sofa!"
"Yes, because it's larger than the chair."
"You annoy me so much sometimes Bradbury." Dean said, giving her a shove as he dropped the cushions on her. He then stroked his shirt pillow and looked at Castiel, "It's our baby Cas, I named him feathers."
Castiel, a little tired and so a little more emotional than usual, burst out laughing as the other three sniggered stopped and watched him.
"Weren't that funny, but I appreciate the gesture." Dean said, plonking himself next to Cas and leaning his head on Cas' shoulder.
