"Did you leave your stereo on?"

Steve stiffened, finally hearing the loud jazz music and he quickly stepped outside and locked his door again, 'What's going on?' He thought, stepping back from the door and berating himself for being too distracted.

"Is something wrong?" Kagome asked and Steve seemed to come back to his senses. She glanced at the door, staring at it thoughtfully, "Since you haven't invited me in yet, I have to assume something is wrong. I am right?"

"Yes..." Steve said with a serious face, "I did not leave my stereo on today." He paused, coming up with multiple plans and was satisfied with a particular one, "Miss Kagome, I need you to stay here." He stated, knowing she would grow frustrated.

"And?" Kagome tapped her foot with irritation, "What are you going to do? There's only one person in there. Can't be too dangerous, can it?"

Steve paused for a moment, "One person? Why do you think that?" He asked before shaking his head, knowing they had no time for this, "I'm going to enter through the window. If it's safe, I'll let you in through the door, okay?"

"Okay," Kagome sighed, 'Why can't I just have a normal date for once?' She leaned against the wall, counting the minutes and uncrossed her arms when exactly eleven minutes and forty-five seconds passed before the door opened.

The music was still playing.

"Oh, is that your shield?" Kagome noticed he was holding it at his side, "May I touch it?" She let out a little noise of excitement when Steve handed it to her with a little grin before his face turned grim.

"I never thought this would ever happen, but, Miss Kagome, I would like for you to meet my boss." Steve practically grumbled the words out as he led her to a man in dark clothes and an eye-patch sitting in his chair.

"Nick Fury, meet Kagome Higurashi."
