Shall We Continue As We Once Did?

Oh life well spent

Life well lived.

Shall we continue

As we once did?

Where dreams alone

Carried me?

Thoughts of me

Shall abandon your head.

Secretly,

You wish me dead.

Nay! Say I

For it not be so,

That you be told

To cease your ventures.

But Life is greater than I,

So now then I must die.

Go forth,

Be strong,

Brave and courageous

Perhaps one day

You will rejoin us.

We went from

One sea to the other,

And through it all

You were my brother.

You kept me safe,

I gave you security.

Even though it feels to me

That you leave early,

You have spent your time,

And are more than worthy.

Perhaps no one will be able to tell

The tales you've written

Or the songs you've sung,

But I shall know them-

Each and every one.

Oh life well spent

Life well lived.

Shall we continue

As we once did?

If it be so,

Then so it shall be.

Just promise me

That you will not forget me.

I shant be forgetful,

My character doth not call

For it.

I shall always remember,

The words you said:

"Stride Forward"

Words that can never be dead.

Well done sir,

It suits the end.

So let us continue

As we once did.
