She had finally had her one on one meeting with Sally that was long overdue. The others had all had theirs with the woman days ago, complaining that it went on for far too long or in Nathans case, that he just couldn't be bothered.

It was fair to say, that the woman was pissed off. And Elsie could tell that it was because of more than just the damage Nathan had done to her car. She wanted to ask, but obviously it was none of her business and it would have more than likely just pissed her off even more.

So, Elsie had kept quiet. Answering Sally's questions as honestly as she could have done, though she felt as if she had gone easy on her, barely asking how she was doing with the service itself. Instead, after one or two about how she was getting on with the work, Sally quickly changed the subject to how she was in herself. Elsie, a little surprised by the turn of the conversation, but sensing Sally wanted to change the subject, told her how she was feeling. Careful only to mention her Aunt and not the activities she and the gang had got up to the night before.

"...They'll never find the bodies." Kelly finished as Elsie took a seat next to her on the red lounger on the roof of the centre. "See ya!" There was clearly no need to ask what they were all discussing.

"They're gonna think the probation worker's still alive." Elsie, as well as the others cast their gaze over the Simon. "I stole his credit card. I used it to book a flight." So that had been what he had taken last night. While the others seemed to love this idea, Elsie felt a sense of panic rise up.

"That is smart!" Curtis sounded proud.

"You're dead good at stuff like that." Elsie leant down to tie her shoelace to avoid looking at him. She could feel his gaze on her. She felt that if she looked up and met his eyes, should would not be able to control the words that came out of her mouth.

"Yeah! Nice one, weird kid." Even Nathan had joined in.

"I cannot believe we got away with this shit." But at Alisha's words, the panic in the red head only grew. There was no way they would contine to get away with 'this shit'.

Spurred on by the enthusiasm he was recieving, Simon more animated than Elsie had ever seen him before, continued, "We should all go out for a drink-you know, to celebrate. It's like an ironic "fuck you" to the probation worker. We're all out having a good time - you're buried under the foundations of an environmental monitoring station."

Elsie didn't need to look around to now that he had lost the interest of everyone but her. There was a moment of silence before Alisha finally got up. "See you all tomorrow, yeah?"

"Later." Curtis rushed off after the beautiful girl.

"Yeah..." Nathan uttered throwing his ciggie away and standing from the chair.

"Do you want to come for a drink?" Elsie couldn't bear to watch anymore and relaxed back, allowing her head to hang off the other side of the seat. She stopped listening too as she allowed her thoughts to wonder. She found herself thinking of how she had managed to end up here, in the gross orange jumpsuit with a group of people she would not normally have looked at twice.

She closed her eyes and allowed the breeze to swim across her face, cooling her cheeks and the tip of her nose.

The door leading back to the inside world of Wertham Community Centre slammed, making the red head jump and sit up slowly so not to leave her with a head rush.

The only one left was her, but she did not feel quite alone.

"Hello?" She spoke up now, hoping that she wasn't actually going mad, and that someone would answer her.

She jumped up from the seat and began to walk over to the door when no one answered. Had Simon actually stuck around to ask her, she would have happily said yes to a drink.

Something grabbed hold of her wrist.

She opened her mouth to scream but found something was covering it to prevent just that.

"It's me." Her heart rate slowed, but only slightly at the voice of Simon. "I didn't mean to scare you." She could feel his breath on her face as he went to release her wrist, but she stopped him and moved so she was holding his hand instead. She considered him a friend, but that didn't mean not knowing where he was standing didn't frighten the life out of her.

"It's alright. Do you think you could come back so I'm not just talking to the air? Please?"

She could hear him grunting slightly as if it was an effort, but still he did not appear.

"Would it help if I asked if you wanted to come over to mine and watch a film with me later? We could have that drink you were talking about?" Her eyes were non stop moving at where she thought his face would be.

"Do you - do you mean that?"

"I wouldn't say it if I didn't. Look, do you want me to turn away or something? Would that help?" She went to turn, loosening her grip on his hand but found she couldn't. He had tightened his grip on her, it was as if he didn't want to risk her walking away. "I won't let go of your hand if that's what you want?" The blood in her fingers began to flow again properly as he let go ever so slightly, allowing her to turn and face the other way.

She politley ignored the groaning noises she could hear coming from him as she surveyed the view from up at their height.

"What time?" An out of breath Simon questioned. Knowing this was the signal that she was safe to turn back around she did so, and smiled. His round eyes watching her closely as if to catch her out on a lie.

"Well, I could either give you my address and you can come over when you're ready, or we can go and get changed and you can come straight back to mine? We can grab a takeaway on the way too if you like?" She asked as she began to lead him towards the door, his hand still clasped in her own.

She was beginning to understand his power. The rejection from the rest of the group had left him feeling invisible. This was how it was triggered. She had no doubt that with time he would master becoming invisible whenever he wanted or needed to. But for the moment, Elsie was happy to let him know that he wasn't as invisible as the others made him feel.

"Takeaway sounds nice." He mumbled as if not sure if this was actually happening or not.

"Let's get changed then." She beamed to him as she swallowed the urge to bring up the credit card he had stolen. She pushed her fears of the potential repercussions to one side. Now was not the time for such a discussion. "What takeaway do you fancy?"

The wall beneath her still felt cold on her backside despite having been sat on it for a while. It hadn't taken her long to lose interest in the work at hand. Todays activity was scraping the leaflets off the benchs but from the looks of it, everyone but Simon had given up. If they had even started in the first place.

Really it was the Probation Workers fault. If he was going to get them to clean something, the something shouldn't have been benches.

There was a silence amongst them as they had worked. Until Rudy spoke up from her side. "You should do the lottery." She managed to contain the sigh she wanted to let out as his words. Obviously, he was thinking about Simon's power.

Obviously he hadn't considered that this particular subject had already been discussed within the group. Or more specifically between Simon and Elsie.

As the northerner continued on with his brilliant idea, Simon couldn't help but cast a quick look at Elsie. She was already watching him and the pair shared a look.

Elsie smirked before turning back to face Curtis. "How was your evening then? You never did tell me why you went silent on me." She had had last night off, and she had felt a little lonely being back at her flat by herself. She was used to being with Curtis behind the bar, so she had spent the majority of it texting him. For a while, he had replied, but eventually he had stopped. Elsie, not totally bothered by it, thinking the bar had got busy, asked if he needed her to come down and lend an extra pair of hands but fell asleep on the sofa only minutes after sending the message.

Upon checking her phone this morning, the only reply she had got from him was that he was on his way to meet her. She was curious as to what had happened to him. It wasn't like him to not reply and she hadn't managed to get much out of him that morning either. Every time she looked at him though, he had a smile on his face, so she supposed he had a great evening.

The goofy smile that hadn't really left his face at all since Elsie had first greeted him, grew slightly as he obviously thought about his night.

"What you smiling at?" Alisha joined the conversation.

"What? Am I not allowed to smile?" Curtis questioned.

"You look like you just got laid."

He chuckled at her words. "Have you just had a shag?" Kelly asked.

"Somefin like that."

"So that's why you went all quiet on me then. Getting your dick wet. I see where your priorities lie." Elsie nudged him with her elbow. He laughed and nudged her back.

"Who's the lucky girl?"

"You don't know her." Curtis answered.

"Are you just saying we don't know her because we genuinely don't know her, or because you don't want to talk about it anymore?"

"Nah, you guys really don't know her."

"Is she part of that running group?"

"Ay! I had me eyes on them, them are mine!" Rudy complained, causing everyone to roll their eyes and get up from their position. Apparently they were done for the day.

"Come watch me run?" Curtis spoke only to Elsie now. "If you have nothing better to do?" She looked up at him from her short height. He was looking straight ahead as they all headed back into the building to get changed. This was not something he had ever asked her to do before and Elsie wondered how long he had wanted her to tag along.

"Ok. You going now yeah?"

"When we're changed." He nodded.

"Then let's hurry and get changed." Curtis beamed at her. "Wait a minute." She grabbed his arm and stopped the two of them from moving any further. He raised an eyebrow at her in question. "I'm just watching aren't I? I don't actually have to do any running myself do I?" He rolled his eyes, but shook his head. "Great! Then what are we waiting for?"

Apologies for the lack of updates and the lack of Rudy in this chapter. But I wanted to a) Update for anyone who may still actually be reading this. And b) if anyone is still reading this, ask how they are doing with everything that's going on.

I hope you are looking after yourself, and those around you. Stay safe. Much love.
