A/N: So after writing this, doubting about it for two days, and then having it checked by two of my lovelies on Twitter (Eva and Moose btw) I FINALLY had the courage to publish this and yeah, see for yourself!

Disclaimer: Nothing is mine. Sadly.

'Worst nightmare'

His shoes felt like they were filled with five pounds of pure lead, making every next step he took harder and harder. He really couldn't do this, his entire body was protesting and he felt his hands twitch to claw at the walls, to pull back and retreat to his lonely life, but part of him wanted to do this. He wanted to see her. Wanted to know that she was still okay.

But it was his least favorite thing to do now.

He felt himself getting closer to the room that undoubtedly held his precious angel, but his body protested more and more. He felt Kimball Cho's presence beside him rather than seeing it, and it was only for that reason that he managed to continue his journey to the one hospital room that would end it all. When they arrived in front of the door, his knees were shaking.

"I know she wants to see you."

"That's not… what I'm worried about."

He slowly opened the door to his biggest nightmare. And indeed, there she was, on the big hospital bed with Pike standing beside it... and a bundle of blue sheets in her arms.

Teresa looked up as soon as she heard the door open and she smiled softly, barely there, a whisper of a smile.

"Hey," she breathed. Jane shook his head. Yet his body was moving closer while tears were forming in his eyes. He couldn't do it, but he had to see her. Had to know she was okay.

"Hey, Jane," she whispered, her voice soft and loving. He looked over her arm and saw the tiny little baby that looked exactly like his mother – and he broke down and cried. Cried her name over and over again until he felt Cho's arms pulling him away.

"Patrick…" He sobbed uncontrollably for he could have had a baby with her, but he had been stupid. He had been such an idiot and now, she had a baby with another man and he would never be able to win her back.

"Patrick!"

He startled awake in a puddle of sweat and tears, on the edge of throwing up. Small hands were everywhere on his body, trying to calm him down.

It had been a dream? It had felt so real.

"Patrick, it was just a bad dream," a soft voice whispered beside him. He looked around and saw Teresa immediately, smiling at him though he saw the concern in her eyes.

"It was a dream, Patrick… nothing but a bad, bad dream. I'm here." To prove her point, she kissed his lips, and he whimpered softly. Only at that point did he realize that this wasn't a strange occurring for them – that he had woken up next to her for more than seven months now. He wrapped his arms around her and pushed her onto her back carefully, making sure she didn't twist her belly too much.

It was all just a bad dream. She wouldn't have Pike's baby because she was already carrying Jane's.

A/N: So let me know, please!
