Again so sorry for the mix up

Nico felt grief and sadness. The kind of grief and sadness he felt when Bianca passed. The kind of sadness he felt when he heard about Hazel. It wasn't something he liked but he was used to those emotions. So when Percy left Nico wasn't surprised to feel those all too familiar feelings swirl inside him.

The son of Poseidon was different he seemed more bitter. Maybe it was the fact that he was near the domain of the gods or maybe it just had something to do with the fact that he was seeing his cousin again after o many years. A painful reminder of the life he once lived. Whatever the reason Percy was sad. The young hero lost so much that Nico didn't blame Percy for looking so pained but a part of Nico still grieved for his cousin. Nico would do anything to have that fourteen-year-old boy who was pondering whether or not he could surf.

So after Percy made his melodramatic exit Nico took a much-needed seat at the round kitchen table to rest his racing thoughts. He didn't know what to do next.

It had been a normal day for the son of Hades or at least as normal as it could be for a demigod. Nico spoke to Chiron for a while discussing the camp. After Percy left the only other optional person would be Annabeth but she was dead so that left Jason. When the Giant War was over the son of Jupiter resigned from his position as a Roman Praetor leaving the job to Frank. A good choice much to popular belief. So Jason stayed at Camp-Half blood with Piper as the two coped with Leo's death, during the War, together. It hadn't been easy for anyone, even though the camp knew Leo for only a little while he snuck into the hearts of anyone who had the pleasure of saying hi to him. The death hit everyone hard but even harder for Percy. He believed it was his fault. It wasn't helping that he lost Annabeth the most solid thing in his life.

Anyways, Jason and Nico shared the camp leader, role. Jason mostly was the one in charge since Nico couldn't bring himself to come to camp often anymore. Though he made occasional visits to see Jason and Piper. Nico got over his unsocial habits but only by a little enough to be friends with the now golden couple of the Camp.

So today Nico made one of his weekly visits to the city to check on how things were doing. He and Chiron were having a discussion regarding Nico's plan to move to Canada to attend Toronto University. After four years of constantly searching his cousin's whereabouts it was time for the Ghost King to move on with his life. The two had planned to move to their neighbors on the other side of the border after Percy graduated high school. He couldn't take the city let alone the country anymore. It was a time for a change of scenery and Nico couldn't agree any less. Then things got messed up and Percy's parents died and he left being declared as a traitor to Olympus. So the move hadn't happened. Now Nico was an adult and things were looking up for him. He finally got over his problems with self-acceptance and Hazel was doing much better and he didn't have to worry as much as he used to. The wounds Percy left with his disappearance were finally healing. To top it all off Nico was steadily dating a guy for two years who finally broke the barriers of the cold Ghost King. Things were looking a bit brighter. Then Percy came.

After the son of Poseidon's disappearance Nico took it upon his duty to clean and look after the Apartment that once belonged to Sally Jackson the mother of Percy but also the mother Nico never had in along time. Suspiciously the apartment was being paid for but never used. Strangely enough a part of Nico knew it was Percy. As long as the payments kept coming it gave a bit comfort of the son of Hades knowing his cousin was alive. When Percy left he had no other cousins there for him then Jason. Thalia and him were not on good terms. When she heard Percy kill Annabeth and there was concrete evidence against her cousin she immediately believed the facts. Nico didn't believe the gods; he knew his cousin wasn't capable of that which is why he and Thalia weren't exactly on speaking terms. One of many good reasons for Nico to move. He currently, lived in a suburb house his father had to communicate with spirits from every city in every country. Nico lived there for the time being because he couldn't take being near the others who blindly believed Percy was a traitor.

Nico finally stood up after organizing his racing thoughts. He needed to calm down and process all of what Percy had told him. There were only two things that could calm down the son of the underworld, 1. Eating a Happy Meal, 2. Seeing Hazel. Since he didn't really have an appetite he decided he would see Hazel soon. He never got tired of seeing his sister. She was always there for him even after all the tragedy she had to over come after the war. He was doing his best to make it up to her.

Nico took off his cleaning gear and with a sigh he shadow traveled to Camp Jupiter. It looked the same as it always did. Many people looked at him but they had gotten used to him appearing. They were just a little wary of him. Which didn't really bother him. He walked up marble steps finding Frank Zhang in a deep conversation with a man. The two looked both serious but then Frank's eyes lifted slightly to see Nico. Frank quickly said something to the man he was speaking to before walking towards his girlfriend's brother.

"Nico," Frank said with a jovial smile on his as if there was nothing wrong.

"Frank," Nico said with a smile as the two shook hands. It always good to see the son of Mars. Sure, it was a bit awkward here and there. But the two got aside the awkwardness and became friends. After all they cared about the same girl and would do anything for her no matter what the cost.

"So how have you been," Frank asked going for simple pleasantries.

"Fine," Nico lied through his teeth. "And you,"

"Honestly, not so good. Things have been busy lately. Something is stirring up here in Sans Francisco and I don't like it," Frank said in a very grave tone. If he noticed something up with Nico he didn't show it, much to the son of Hades relief. Nico nodded his head understanding Frank's grave tone. Already things have been calming down especially after Percy's disappearance.

"If you want I will notify Camp Half blood about the activity here,"

"That will be great thanks Nico it will save me a Drachma. Enough about me I bet you're here to see Hazel. She is in the Rehab Center," Frank said gesturing Nico towards the Medical building in New Rome. The Ghost King wasn't surprised at all to hear of Hazel's whereabouts she was stubborn as Hades. The two walked in silence occasionally speaking about the weather and other mundane subjects until the conversation took a turn for the worst.

"Nico," Frank started unsure of what to say next.

"Yes, Frank" Nico asked confusedly not sure where the conversation was headed, turning to look at the young Praetor.

"Never mind," Frank said after a moment of hesitation, with a shake of his head. Nico nodded his head still a bit confused.

"Do you know of his whereabouts," Frank said putting all caution to the wind. Nico stopped to turn around to see a serious looking Frank staring at him expectantly. Nico was at a lose for a words not sure what to say. Percy was banished which meant the world of demigods shouldn't interfere in the mortal world which meant no contact with Percy. He was a traitor, you can't talk to traitors and much to Thalia's disappointment you can't kill them either especially if they're undergoing their punishment. That's the rules of the Council.

"He's in New York," Nico finally said after all long time of silence. He knew it was his duty to inform Frank. He and Percy were just as much as related to each other as Nico was related to Percy. Frank had a right to know especially after what happened to Hazel. The Praetor of Rome had a look of mixed emotions dancing across his face: anger, surprise, confusion, sadness and then back to anger.

"Have you spoken to him," Frank asked after what seemed like a century. His voice was gruff full of emotion that it cracked.

"Yes," Nico said rather guiltily. Looking down at his shoes.

"When?" Frank said grilling him with questions.

"Just half an hour ago," Nico said looking up at Frank's eyes with shame.

"Can you take me to see him," Frank asked. Nico was relieved for a minute there he was expecting a lecture.

"
"Yes of course, Frank, but after I see Hazel," Nico said. Frank nodded his understanding with a sheepish look on his.

"Of course," Frank said. Nico nodded his head and the two kept walking like nothing happened but it did and that was enough for them. They arrived at the Rehab center in the hospital. They opened one of the gyms.

Revealing a dark skinned girl hunched over with Caramel curls panting as her hands gripped the bars. Her head lifted as her eyes narrowed as she tried her best to take one step but she fell. Frank and Nico rushed over to the fallen figure. Frank lifted Hazel in his arms cradling her bridal style. The son of Mars carried his girl friend to the side of the gym sitting her down on the mat. Nico followed them worriedly. He sat down on one side of his sister squeezing her hand but she didn't notice her face was screwed up in pain. Frank who was kneeling in front of her gently caressed her face.

"Does your leg hurt," Frank asked in a soft voice. Hazel nodded in too much pain. Frank slowly put his hands on his metal leg gently taking it off and then taking off the silicone sleeve on her upper thigh or what was left of his leg. She winced.

"Where is it?" Frank asked Hazel looked on her other side towards her bag fighting off tears. He reached for her bag grabbing out a bottle of cream slowing applying it to her leg he then handed her a bottle of nectar from her bag. She took several huge gulps before closing the flask and putting it down.

"It's ok" Frank said to Hazel giving her a soft kiss to her forehead. Hazel sighed clearly feeling no pain arching her back to rest her head firmly on the wall.

"I hate that thing. Why can't we just burn it?" Hazel asked as she pointed vainly to her metal leg thingy.

"Hazel," Frank said in a reprimand tone as if he was talking to a child. Nico couldn't help the amusing smile appear on his face as he watched his sister.

"Or better yet why can't we just burn it to my father as an offering. He could use it as a walking stick or a kind of rope to herd the spirits. Or give it Persephone so she can use it as a bouquet or something. I don't know," Hazel said indignantly to Frank. That didn't help either of the two young men to stop laughing.

Hazel turned her head immediately just as if she realized Nico was there. She then tackled the laughing Ghost King in to a hug.

"Oh Nico I've missed you it's been so long," Hazel said rather loudly as she squeezed the life out of her brother.

"We just saw each other last week," Nico said disbelieving. Hazel finally let go of him to inspect his face.

"I know but still… Have you been eating well? As anything happened?" Hazel asked as she turned his face to inspect if he was okay. Then a gasp came out of her mouth as realization dawned. "Did Chris break up with you?"

"No Hazel, I am fine," Nico said with a chuckle at his over protective sister.

"Good," Hazel said very enthusiastically before crushing him in another hug. Over his shoulder Nico could see a snickering Frank.

"Oh shut up, Frank," Nico told the hulking boy before him giving him a glare. That immediately sobered up the guy but it didn't stop him from smirking. Hazel then turned around so fast that one would think she would get whiplash to tackle her boyfriend in a hug.

"Oh I missed you Frank," Hazel told the rather surprised Praetor who felt like his breath was knocked right out of him. This time it was Nico to snicker at the mighty Praetor being smothered by a less strong opponent.

"Hazel, we saw each other at lunch just today," Frank said with a sigh but he couldn't hide the smile on his face as Hazel gave him another hug. Frank looked over his shoulder and glared at the snickering son of Hades.

"Oh shut up Nico," Frank said as Hazel let him go smiling at the two boys before her. The two most important boys in her life she can't imagine living without.

"So Nico are you staying for dinner," Hazel asked her brother. Nico nodded his head as Frank and him had a silent conversation agreeing they will see Percy after dinner with Hazel. Hazel watched the two boys suspiciously as Frank got up to leave for he had things to do. Upon seeing Hazel's look he gave her one last kiss on the forehead before whispering something in her hear that caused her to blush fiercely. Something hard to see with her dark skin, but it was very noticeable.

As Frank left Nico waggled his eyebrows rather teasingly at the girl beside him who elbowed him in the stomach. Nico couldn't help but laugh. The two went into a conversation or more likely a one sided conversation as Hazel told him stories of the nurses. Nico couldn't help but smile and nod his head. Even though he would never confess it he missed his sister even after seeing her last week. He always went out of his way to spend time with her to make up the time the two lost when she was in a coma.
